nganong nakasulod ang kanding sa subdivision?:(

mao gyod na akong kalagotan.  tuyoon to nila, pang-up yours nila ilang mga mananap sa subdivision dwellers.  wa pay labot sa grabeng kawat.  naa tawon miy silingan, engineer to pareha nimo, tungod sa kahiubos, ni-migrate na lang sa australia.  imagine, pagmata niya dayon kanaog, bakante na ang ilang kusina ug sala.  hasta pahiran gikawat, way pasaylo.  mora intawon ug bu**** pagkahuman, blaming himself for being unable to protect his family.  bisan kinsa na lang ang iyang kwelyohon nga tagagawas human ato.  mahadlok mig madisgrasya kadugayan.  (ang joke aning barangay where the subdivision is, ngan kuno ani is either "barangay wakwak" o "barangay kawat".)

there was an upside to that story.  girespetohan na kuno ko atong tag-iya sa kanding.  (nga daghan kunog kontra nga mga silingan kay bintahoso.)  wa na pod silay gitugway nga kanding sukad ato.
#28141
gipabayad gihapon ko.  tunga na lang kuno kay ako mang gipatambalan.  tagaan pa kog karne.  balibad ko sa karne.  bayad ko sa tunga kay among iro man gyod intawon ang hinungdan.  kapoy nag lalis sa technicality (they're not supposed to set their goats free inside the subdivision).  result: mas dako kog total nga gasto (veterinarian fees, medicines plus half the cost of the goat's life) kay sa gidiretso na lang nakog bayad right at the beginning.

nganong nagpaawop ko aning hitaboa?  mas nalooy ko sa kanding kay sa tag-iya, to be honest.  another thing, uroy ug bawsan ko unya hiloan among mga iro.

mao niy grim reality sa ato.  kitay mopasensiya kay kitay mahadlok.  never mind how right we feel about our stand in such situations.  imagine kun ako pa tong gidako unya nagpagahi-gahi ko.  either entonces akong mga iro, iring, or ako.

kabahin ug kanding ug kinabuhi...

kun ang akong sister nakahimamat ug charming nga baka sa iyang pagkatulog, ang ako kanding, pareha aning tragic news.

ang among mga iro di binuhian, pero naay schedule ug walk-the-dog twice a day, on a leash.  once in the past, ang usa nakabuhi.  dihay kanding gitugway, again by someone nga tagagawas sa subdivision.  the hunting instinct of the dog came to fore. nakurat na lang ko nga gidad-an kog kanding nga naluya na, unya pabayron kog more than 1k.

no questions asked, wa nay panahon ug lalis nganong ilang gitugway ilang kanding sa sulod sa subdivision where it's not allowed.  kapoy nag moabot pa mi sa barangay captain all the way to the court.  ang importante, salbaron ang kanding.  diretso ko sa veterinarian, hangyo nga salbaron ang kinabuhi sa kanding kutob sa mahimo.  nabuhi tuod, but only for 48 hours.  wa ko katulog.  nalooy ko sa kanding.  bahala ba uroy ang tag-iya.

Did the CDC website get crashed by a Zombie Apocalypse?

A zombie apocalypse preparedness campaign by the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention posted on their web site caused so much traffic that the site crashed, the agency reported on May 19, 2011. The campaign was presented via blog post as part of the CDC's efforts to educate people about the June 1 start of hurricane season. 'If you prepare for the zombie apocalypse, you'll be prepared for all hazards,' CDC spokesman Dave Daigle told Reuters.

Was the zombie apocalypse's first victim the CDC website?

On May 19, 2011 a zombie apocalypse preparedness campaign by the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention posted on their web site caused so much traffic that the site crashed. CDC spokesman Dave Daigle stated that a typical blog post on the CDC website might get between 1,000 and 3,000 hits. The most traffic on record was 10,000 hits--the post that crashed the CDC's servers had 60,000.

Is the zombie apocalypse real?

No.  The zombie apocalypse isn't real.  Zombies are not physically possible.

Apocalypse Q and A

Are people preparing for the apocalypse?

Many people see political upheaval and natural disasters as clear signs that civilization is doomed. It is unclear how many people subscribe to the lifestyle, but there are hundreds of websites devoted to the movement.

What signs of the apocalypse do some people think have already happened?

Some recent signs that make people believe the Apocalypse is upon us is the depletion of oil, devastating natural disasters, the crash of our economy, and the coming of the year 2012.

What are the signs of the apocalypse?

Signs of the apocalypse are wars, famine, pestilences, many will come saying they're Jesus and earthquakes in various places.

amazing.

there are over 160 known apocalyptic predictions set on different dates, from the early romans (634 BC) to the far future the estimated year of which is written as 10 to the power of 100 years (that renders the year "unwritable" with its countless zeros).  these predictions were made by visionaries, national leaders, religious leaders, scientists, and a collection of religious cults and odd seers at various times.

Under Canon 1253, the local norms for fasting and abstinence are determined by each episcopal conference.  In some Western countries, Catholics have been encouraged to adopt non-dietary forms of abstinence during Lent.  For example, in 2009 Monsignor Benito Cocchi, Bishop of Modena, urged young Catholics to give up text messaging for Lent. (wikipedia)
#28162
Although the current Canon Law effective for the Western church does not specify the exact meaning of fasting, the traditional interpretation follows the earlier practice that on the days of mandatory fasting, Catholics may eat only one full meal during the day.  Additionally, they may eat up to two small meals or snacks, known as "collations".  Church requirements on fasting only relate to solid food, not to drink, so Church law does not restrict the amount of water or other beverages - even alcoholic drinks - which may be consumed. (wikipedia)
#28163
Current practice of fast and abstinence is regulated by Canons 1250-1253 of the 1983 code.  They specify that all Fridays throughout the year, and the time of Lent are penitential times throughout the entire Church.  All persons who have completed their fourteenth year are bound by the law of abstinence on all Fridays unless they are solemnities.  All adults (those who have attained the 'age of majority', which varies from country to country) are bound by law to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday until the beginning of their sixtieth year. (wikipedia)
#28164
Contemporary application

Contemporary legislation is rooted in the 1966 Apostolic Constitution of Pope Paul VI, Paenitemini.  He recommended that fasting be appropriate to the local economic situation, and that all Catholics voluntarily fast and abstain.  He also allowed that fasting and abstinence might be substituted with prayer and works of charity. Within hours of it being uploaded, the video had been viewed thousands of times and was being shared across all social media platforms.

One commentator said: "Hilarious! Brilliant. Whoever said posh kids were no fun..."

Another wrote: "Lads, terrific effort... absolutely hilarious. Well played."

The pupils released their video earlier after it emerged that Old Etonians David Cameron and Boris Johnson had once performed the Gangnam Style together with their families at Chequers.

Eton Boys' Gangnam Style Parody becomes Internet Sensation

By Toyin Owoseje
October 19, 2012

It is regarded as one of the most privileged schools in the country, with Prince William and George Canning amongst its impressive list of former students.

But while many may associate Eton with snotty-nosed rich kids, a group of sixth formers have set out to prove that it doesn't actually take itself too seriously.

The college students have become an internet sensation after posting a video parody of Psy's Gangnam Style on YouTube.

In the five-minute clip, the cheeky boys do the world famous Gangnam Style dance around the Berkshire college dressed in their school uniforms and dark glasses.

They poke fun at the £30,000-a-year school's reputation and mention its famous alumni.

The rap features lines such as: "Me and my homies runnin' around and getting dizzy/ Don't even know what we drank but we'll take it if it's fizzy/ I think it might be Moet at £100 a bottle/ 'Cause here we drink that just like water."

Despite that, Psy said his next single will be a mix of Korean and English, "so maybe you will understand the lyrics more".

The event finished when Oxford Union committee members â€" some of them dressed in white tie for the occasion â€" took to the stage to do the 'Gangnam Style' dance with their guest.

When the 'Gangnam Style' video came to the attention of Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun, he called Psy up immediately.  "I couldn't believe it was him," Psy told the crowd, adding that even though he speaks good English he wanted to keep the Korean lyrics in the song.  "I communicate more effectively in Korean.  When I speak English, I sound so serious, I wanted to show the real me," he said.

Psy told the packed crowd at the prestigious Oxford Union debating society that he originally trained at the Berklee College of Music in Boston before pursuing his own pop career.  Demand for the event was so great from the society's members that tickets had to be assigned to students via a ballot, which students queuing outside the venue told NME was completely unheard of in the society's 189-year history.

The rapper, whose track 'Gangnam Style' became a global smash with over 650 million hits on YouTube to date, said he invented the horse-style gallop featured in the video after he was offered a spot dancing on a TV show.  "I was so desperate to get noticed I went to a TV production company in Korea and started doing a dance â€" a crazy dance â€" up and down the corridors," he said.  It worked, and he was offered a slot on the show.

"I stayed up for 30 nights to find that horse-riding dance," he said.  "I tried every creature: elephant, monkey, kangaroo, snake.  The kangaroo hopping was too slow, so we ended up imitating a horse."

As the song continued to gain popularity, its dance moves were performed by a few business and political leaders including Google's executive chairman Eric Schmidt, the British Prime Minister David Cameron, and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, who hailed "Gangnam Style" as a "force for world peace", while U.S. President Barack Obama revealed about possible plans to privately perform "Gangnam Style" for his spouse Michelle Obama.  According to the United Nations, PSY has become an "international sensation" through his song "Gangnam Style". The music video became a source of parodies and reaction videos by many different groups including The Oregon Duck, midshipmen from the United States Naval Academy, and the North Korean government.  By the end of October 2012, the song reached the number one position in more than 30 countries including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.  Although Gangnam Style's reception in Japan remained lukewarm, the song topped China's Baidu 500 download list and was labelled by state-controlled media as a "divine melody". The phrase "Gangnam Style" is a Korean neologism that refers to a lifestyle associated with the Gangnam district of Seoul.  The song and its accompanying music video went viral in August 2012 and have influenced popular culture since then.  "Gangnam Style" is considered by some to be a worldwide phenomenon, while others have praised "Gangnam Style" for its catchy beat and PSY's amusing dance moves in the music video and during live performances in various locations such as Dodger Stadium, The Today Show, Saturday Night Live, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and Samsung commercials.  On September 17, the song was nominated for Best Video at the upcoming 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards to be held in Frankfurt, Germany.  On September 20, 2012, "Gangnam Style" was recognized by Guinness World Records as the most "liked" video in YouTube history. The YouTube clip above allegedly shows a woman behaving badly on the Sydney Metro, but the video, uploaded on Oct. 26, has garnered more than 500,000 views in only two days not because of the woman's poor public form, but for the way her fellow passengers solve the problem. The unidentified blonde instigator ignores any semblance of the Golden Rule, as she spits, swears and even strikes fellow passengers over the course of a few minutes.

As the Daily Mail notes, when the crowd tires of the woman's violent antics, they "gather her bags and throw them onto the platform, swiftly followed by the woman herself."

The rail rager initially looks shocked as she sits on her backside in the train station. She takes a few more swings for good measure, but doesn't appear to connect.

The video has drawn plenty of reactions from YouTube users, specifically debating whether this constitutes violence against a woman or if her provocation made her train-tossing acceptable.

Did she get what she deserved?
