naabot na gyud na man ta ani ug pinirmahay oi... unsa mana MOA? hahahahaha

MOA - Mall of Asia??? Minute of Angle??

                    or

Kani sya????

Now, the short version as it pertains to your bases. Think of MOA as inches @ 100 yards. It's not exactly the same, but it's close enough. So, a 10 MOA base is going to give you an extra 10 inches of inclination/declination at 100 yards, 20 MOA is 20 inches and so on. Minutes increase as the distance increases. 1 minute at 200 is 2 inches, 1 minute at 300 is 300 inches. So if you hear someone say "My gun shoots 1 MOA at 300 yards" they're saying that their gun shoots roughly 3" groups at 300.

The only practical use for these kinds of bases on big rifles is for long distance shooting. It's not required for normal ranges, because most scopes have enough adjustment that you can get away it and flat shooting rifles don't need that much adjustment at close range (300 yards). However if you're shooting a long ways out, and you want to zero your scope at those extended ranges, you're going to need to put extra tilt into the equation otherwise your scope is going to run out of adjustment way before you get there. In your case unless you're stepping up in scope in the process I wouldn't bother with getting bases that give you extra elevation. There's no point in it. Small magnification scopes just aren't intended for that. If you were shooting something larger, like maybe a 4-16x, 6.5x20, 6-24, 8-32, etc. then it might be worth pursuing.  :D :D

'Bad' habit that's good for you 4: Swearing
Swearing: it’s not big and it’s not clever... but studies suggest that in certain situations it may actually be good for you. According to a study by the University of East Anglia, swearing at work could help employees cope with stress and maintain solidarity. Meanwhile, researchers at Keele University’s School of Psychology found that swearing can provide effective short-term relief from pain. However, the study also notes that swearing should be reserved for crises only, as the higher the daily swearing frequency was for participants, the less pain relief they experienced.

I don't swear kung masuko ko instead mohilak ra ko pero there was a time na di na gyud makaya akong kalagot sa akong ex-bf, tanang pamalikas akong nasulti niya... nahuwasan ko oi... gaan kaayo ang feeling..

The wives of three overseas Filipino workers (OFW) on death row in Saudi Arabia fear that their husbands might never make it home despite blood money having been paid to the victim's families.

They rushed to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Pasay after receiving word that their husbands would be executed.

Their husbands were sentenced to death in 2007 for the killings of three other Filipino workers.

But the women say their husbands were framed.

“Sabi niya alam ng Diyos na wala siyang ginawang ganyan,” said Mila Arcilla.

“Tumawag siya, umiiyak, humihingi ng tulong, wala daw siyang alam sa pangyayari pero dinampot siya,” said Marlene Gonzales

In 2009, with the help of the DFA, P5 million was paid as blood money to the families of each of the three victims in exchange for a “tanazul,” or a letter of forgiveness.

But there's no word yet if the men will be sent home.

The DFA gave its assurance that they have not received any information that the three will be executed.

“After maayos ‘yung paghingi ng ‘tanazul,’ kailangang pag-usapan pa ito sa korte para ayusin naman ‘yung public aspect ng kaso,” said DFA Assistant Secretary Raul Hernandez.

The DFA said there are 29 OFWs on death row in the Middle East.

Overseas workers group Migrante is dismayed by what it calls the slow action of the DFA

“Nagkaroon ng kakulangan sa pagbibigay ng atensyon,” said Migrante chairperson Gary Martinez.

10 guilt-inducing activities that actually boost your health

Ever promised yourself that this year you were definitely going to give that bad habit the flick, only to give into your vice again after only a couple of hours? Well, the good news is that ‘bad’ habit may not actually be as harmful as you think. Here are 10 common ‘bad’ habits that are actually good for your health.

'Bad' habit that's good for you 1: Gossiping
Most of us love a good gossip, whether we’re giggling over a colleague’s new romance or passing an opinion on someone’s outfit choice or behaviour, and the good news is that gossiping could actually be good for us. Not only does listening to gossip help us to learn more about the characters of those around us, bonding and having a laugh with your peers also releases feel-good hormones which help to relieve stress and anxiety.

'Bad' habit that's good for you 2: Drinking coffee
Although drinking too much coffee can be detrimental to your health, in smaller quantities the popular hot drink can actually be good for you. When drunk in moderation (no more than three cups per day), caffeine can speed up your metabolism, boost exercise endurance and reduce your risk of gallstones and kidney stones. A study by the Harvard Medical School has also found that women who drink two or more cups of coffee a day are less likely to be depressed, while separate research has shown that drinking three cups cuts risk of age-related diabetes.

'Bad' habit that's good for you 3: Fidgeting
It’s the bane of school teachers everywhere, yet research suggests that fidgeting may be no bad thing â€" at least in us adults. Research suggests that fidgeting can burn up to 350 extra calories a day, helping you to keep off those excess pounds. To further increase your calorie burn, try to squeeze in more incidental exercise, such as getting up to change the channel rather than using the remote control.

'Bad' habit that's good for you 5: Skipping a shower
OK, so repeatedly missing showers may not win you any friends, but if you are ever tempted to skip a shower here and there, research suggests that you could be doing your health (and the environment) a favour. Daily washing not only strips your skin of the natural oils that keep it hydrated and supple, it could also strip your skin of good bacteria that help to prevent disease. If you do decide to skip a shower, just try to do it on a day when you won’t be vigorously working out!

'Bad' habit that's good for you 6: Losing your temper
Many of us have been brought up to believe that losing our temper is the ultimate social faux pas. To an extent this is true (nobody wants to hang out with that person who is always losing their cool and shouting their mouth off), however research has found that losing your temper could actually be good for your health. Venting your emotions is believed to reduce the effects of stress, while a Swedish study found that men who bottled up their anger when unfairly treated at work doubled their risk of having a heart attack.

'Bad' habit that's good for you 7: Sunbathing
In recent years, official advice has been that we should cover up in the sun at all times to protect ourselves from skin cancer. However, more recently experts have stated that actually little and frequent sun exposure is good for us. In the UK, where vitamin D deficiency is common, seven leading health groups and charities have issued a statement advising everyone to spend 10 minutes in the midday sun without sunblock in order to avoid rickets. Meanwhile, a US study has stated that the vitamin D produced by the sun could help ward off colds and flu. However, experts have stressed that people should cover up after 10 minutes, and skin should never be red at the end of the day.

'Bad' habit that's good for you 8: Having a lie-in
Feeling guilty about your weekend lie-in? Don’t be! Research has found that sleep can help you live longer, boost your memory and reduce stress, while not getting enough can lead to accidents, weight gain, and increased risk of heart disease. Furthermore, delaying your morning workout in favour of some shut-eye may have health benefits, as research from Brunel University found that heavy training sessions early in the morning can compromise the immune system.

'Bad' habit that's good for you 9: Giving in to your cravings
Although constantly giving into junk food cravings is a sure-fire way to sabotage your healthy eating success, allowing yourself the odd treat will not only boost your happiness, it will also help you keep motivated to stay on track. Also, as many people crave the foods that they most attempt to resist, allowing yourself a little of what you fancy can actually help to reduce cravings. If you have imposed extreme restrictions on your diet and cut out entire food groups, cravings could also be a sign of a nutrient deficiency in your diet.

'Bad' habit that's good for you 10: Daydreaming
Many of us view daydreaming as a sign of laziness or form of procrastination; however, researchers at the University of British Columbia have found that letting your mind wander can actually help boost your problem-solving abilities. The study found that when participants minds wandered, the parts of their brain associated with problem-solving became more active than when focused on routine tasks. So, while daydreaming can increase the time it takes to complete your present task, it can allow you to unconsciously sort through other important problems in your life. :D ;D

Why sex, shopping can be good for you??

Get out the party poppers guys and girls â€" we have news. You know how it can sometimes feel like an uphill struggle to stay healthy and keep fit; well we’ve found out that doing our favorite activities is actually good for us. So if you’re ready to stop feeling guilty and start feeling good, read this list and discover why your favourite things are actually doing wonders for you and your health.

1. Shopping

Spending your cash and ogling the latest designs is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon, but surely you should be working out at the gym or doing 100 squats instead? Well, although shopping isn’t the most strenuous of activities, it is in fact good for you. Shopping, according to a study published in the Journal of Psychology and Marketing, gives us much-needed mood boosts and was described as being ‘overwhelmingly beneficial’ for our frame of mind by researchers.

2. Facebook & TB stalking

Hours can turn into minutes when you are on TB &Facebook stalking and the thrill we feel when we finally get access onto an ex’s profile is surely proof that some good can come from the internet. However, ex’s aside, it turns out that there are lots of benefits to searching the web. The Internet helps us to improve our decision-making and complex reasoning skills and it could also be preventing some of the effects that ageing has on the brain.

3. Hanging out with friends

If you’re considering ditching your friends to finally get the car cleaned or you’re going to tackle that mountain of paperwork, don’t. Hanging out with your friends may not seem like a very productive activity, but your pals brings you a whole host of benefits; from giving you better brain health to stopping you from catching so many colds. In fact, a study by Brigham Young University found that having a good social network boosts your survival chances by 50%.

4. Chocolate

Although stuffing your face every night with a creamy bowl of melted chocolate won’t do you or your energy levels much good, eating chocolate a few times a week has got some surprising benefits. A study in the US found that those who ate a little a few times a week were, on the whole, slimmer that those participants who ate chocolate every now and again. Plus a Swedish study found that those men who eat a chocolate bar a week could reduce their risk of stroke by a whopping 17%.

5. Sex

For some of us, sex is definitely a favorite pastime and if you love doing the deed you’ll be pleased to find out that sex has lots and lots of health benefits. To begin with, an orgasm can help our skin look more youthful because it produces hormones that increase collagen production, which in turn helps to improve skin’s elasticity and softness. Sex also helps us get enough plenty of sleep because the hormones we release during sex -- oxytocin and prolactin -- help us to feel drowsy and relaxed.

6. Night out

On the morning-after-the-night-before, when you wake up on your friend’s bedroom floor with a magazine as a pillow, a night out does not always sound like something that is good for you. However, although heavy drinking isn’t in any way good for us, there are a few benefits from the other aspects of a night out. When you’re throwing out your best moves on the dance floor remember that dancing can reduce mental tension. Plus, if you’re a beer drinker, researchers have found that moderate consumption of beer can help to reduce risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and dementia.

7. Watching the game

Watching your team play basketball can seem like a completely health-free event, but if you’re a man, watching basketball can massively help your mental health. A study undertaken by the Mental Health Foundation found that men who find it difficult to share and talk about their feelings are able to open up more during matches. The study also found that 76% of the men who took part in the study would not be embarrassed to hug their friend during a game.

8. Sunbathing

Before your strip off and douse yourself in oil, too much sun is still bad for you. Not only can it give you skin cancer, too much sun can make your skin age prematurely and give you actinic keratoses, which are growths of scaly skin found on your body. However, a little sun has been found to alleviate tiredness, boost our libidos and can even ease depression. Plus, the sun’s UVB rays also aid the production of vitamin D, which helps to keep our bones healthy.

9. Movies

If you thought that the only movies that are good for us are those educational foreign films or black and white documentaries, you’d be wrong. Although these movies may be good for our minds, it turns out that comedies are good for our hearts. When we watch a movie that makes us laugh our blood vessels expand, which helps improve our blood flow. The lead researcher, Dr Michael Miller, said that watching a comedy was as good for your heart as doing "a bout of aerobic exercise."

10. Reading

Curling up with a good book and a cup of tea is bliss, but who knew that reading your favorite book can actually improve your brain health? Researchers at the University of Sussex found that reading for only six minutes can reduce your stress levels by more than two thirds; imagine how much stress could be reduced if you read the entire Harry Potter series. The study also found that reading was more effective at reducing stress than walking or listening to music. :D ;D

Father & Son

FATHER

It's not time to make a change,
Just relax, take it easy.
You're still young, that's your fault,
There's so much you have to know.
Find a girl, settle down,
If you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but I'm happy.

I was once like you are now, and I know that it's not easy,
To be calm when you've found something going on.
But take your time, think a lot,
Why, think of everything you've got.
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not.

SON

How can I try to explain, when I do he turns away again.
It's always been the same, same old story.
From the moment I could talk I was ordered to listen.
[- From :http://www.elyrics.net/read/c/cat-stevens-lyrics/father-&-son-lyrics.html -]
Now there's a way and I know that I have to go away.
I know I have to go.

Father

It's not time to make a change,
Just sit down, take it slowly.
You're still young, that's your fault,
There's so much you have to go through.
Find a girl, settle down,
if you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but I'm happy.

Son

All the times that I cried, keeping all the things I knew inside,
It's hard, but it's harder to ignore it.
If they were right, I'd agree, but it's them you know not me.
Now there's a way and I know that I have to go away.
I know I have to go.

MANILA - President Benigno Aquino wants to win the Philippines a credit rating update and bring in more foreign investment, and he claims to have made progress in his campaign against corruption.

At the start of July, Standard & Poor's raised its rating to one notch below investment grade, but said further upgrades depend on Manila raising income levels or sustaining revenue reforms.

The economy grew by 6.1 percent in the first half of 2012, and the government is targeting full-year growth of 5-6 percent, much higher than last year's 3.9 percent.

Still, in a reminder that much of the capital city is dilapidated and vulnerable to natural disaster, heavy rains in August swamped huge swathes of Manila, killing at least 145 people and leaving hundreds of thousands homeless.

Assessments of damage to farmland and housing are still at an early stage, but repairs and rebuilding could prove costly to the government, which plans $8.4 billion of infrastructure works in the next four years to end perennial flooding in the capital and nearby provinces.

Internationally, by far the greatest concern is the South China Sea, contested waters where the U.S.-backed Philippines are increasingly running up against China.

RATINGS: (Unchanged unless stated:)

S&P: BB+ (upgraded from BB on July 4)

MOODY'S: Ba2

FITCH: BB+

Following is a summary of political risks to watch:

SOUTH CHINA SEA

The Philippines is at the centre of Asia's most likely military flashpoint: the South China Sea. In July, a regional summit failed to agree a position on the competing claims of various nations, and what appears to be the increasing alignment of Washington with Manila risks infuriating China.

In July, President Benigno Aquino told Reuters the Philippines may ask the United States to deploy spy planes over the South China Sea to help monitor the waters.

That announcement came only months after its foreign minister said it is offering the U.S. greater access to its airfields and may open new areas for soldiers to use.

The U.S. pledged to triple military aid to Manila in 2012 after high-level talks in Washington on April 30, raising the risk of further speeding a regional arms buildup that is already underway.

Manila will not surrender claims to its exclusive economic zone, as defined by the United Nations, but it cannot hope to confront China militarily.

Beijing wants one-one-negotiations, but Manila and other claimants prefer a multilateral approach, which opens the way for an indirect role for the United States. China wants the United States to stay out of the dispute.

What to watch:

- New security arrangements between Washington and Manila to increase the U.S. military footprint in the Philippines, and the U.S. fighter jets and warships the Philippines is able to buy.

- Fresh approaches by Manila to pursue its claims on the disputed Spratly Islands. Aquino has said Manila is looking into at least five other options to pursue its claims after China rejected arbitration, including asking for intervention from the International Tribunal on the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) in Germany.

- Commercial activity in the South China Sea. Manila has accepted exploration bids on two oil and gas in the disputed areas, and an Anglo-Filipino company may start drilling oil wells later this year in the Reed Bank, another area claimed by China.

- Spending on upgrades of air and naval equipment, including radar stations. The Philippines plans to roll out $1.8 billion in defence spending in the next four years, but says its actions are not aggressive.

MINING INVESTMENT RESTART, ECONOMIC GROWTH

Mining firms want the Philippines to lift an 18-month moratorium on new projects, but this will not happen until lawmakers approve new legislation on mineral revenues and a presidential executive order is signed.

Congressional approval is likely to hold up permits further, stalling up to $12 billion in new investments planned over the next five years, including Southeast Asia's biggest undeveloped copper-gold mine, the $5.9 billion Tampakan project by global miner Xstrata Plc and Australia's Indophil Resources NL in the south of the country.

Still, the economy is performing well, helped by low interest rates that were maintained in September, improved fiscal management, and an increasingly confident middle class whose spending is underpinned by the huge $1.6 billion in monthly remittances from millions of Filipinos working overseas.

The government is aiming for an expansion of 5-6 percent in 2012, making the Philippines a rare example of growth in contrast to Europe and the United States. Inflation hit a six-month high in July, though the central bank said it was expected to remain manageable.

The arrest in November of former Philippine leader Gloria Macapagal Arroyo for vote-rigging has put Aquino's anti-graft stance firmly back in the public eye, but there is also a risk that the Arroyo case could create uncertainty for investors if it becomes a protracted political and legal battle, and prove a distraction from the work of economic reform.

In early August, Aquino's allies in the lower house of Congress voted to speed up the passage of a highly controversial reproductive health bill, moving it closer to approval.

What to watch:

- Passage of a new law raising tax rates on alcohol and cigarettes. Ratings agencies say the tax reform measure will help the Philippines achieve investment grade status.

- When the mining moratorium is lifted, and quickly resources firms start work on new projects. Progress of the Arroyo case in court, and potential political fallout from removal of the country's top judge.

- Growth figures, and central bank policy moves. Political fallout from Aquino's challenge to the influential Roman Catholic bishops in pushing reform of contraception laws. The bill would require government to provide free reproductive health services, an idea which has been blocked by the religious lobby for nearly 20 years.

INTERNAL SECURITY

Internal security remains a weak spot, persistently highlighted by foreign embassies in travel advisories, with law enforcement hobbled by corruption, lack of police resources, and easy availability of guns on the street.

Aquino held talks with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front's (MILF) leader in Tokyo last year to accelerate the peace process. In late March, negotiators from the two sides signed a document in Kuala Lumpur, agreeing on at least 10 points that will set the direction of the peace talks.

MILF is not the only active rebel group. In October, around 200 Maoist guerrillas attacked three private mining projects on southern island Mindanao, destroying around $70 million worth of equipment, and threatening more attacks.

What to watch:

- The army's patience with the peace process, and with Aquino. Coup attempts are not unknown in the Philippines, and some within the army are angry with Aquino for not taking a tougher line with MILF, though an overthrow seems very unlikely.

- Any more attacks on mines or other businesses, and how investors respond. The Philippine army has said it lacks the resources, so has asked firms to hire private militias to guard their businesses.

- The outcome of the next round of peace talks in Kuala Lumpur, set for late September. A framework agreement would be a step towards to sealing a deal to end more than 40 years of conflict that has killed 120,000 people and stunted growth in resource-rich Muslim south of the mainly Catholic state.

How to Raise a Child: 10 Rules from Susan Sontag
By: Maria Popova

Be consistent. Always speak well of his pop. Do not discourage childish fantasies.

The second volume of Susan Sontag’s diaries, As Consciousness Is Harnessed to Flesh: Journals and Notebooks, 1964-1980, gave us the celebrated author and thinker’s insights on love, writing, censorship, and aphorisms. However, it was in the first installment, Reborn: Journals and Notebooks, 1947-1963 (public library), that the beloved public intellectual coalesces out of a shaky young woman grappling with her place in relation to the world and herself â€" as we’ve already seen in her 1957 list of “rules + duties for being 24″.

Two years later, in September of 1959, Sontag lists her 10 rules for raising a child. (Their object, Sontag’s son David Rieff, edited this very volume.) Underpinning them is a subtle but palpable reverence for the precious gift of “childishness” â€" something Ted Hughes has spoken to with such stirring eloquence.

       1. Be consistent.
       2. Don’t speak about him to others (e.g., tell funny things) in his presence. (Don’t make him self-conscious.)
       3. Don’t praise him for something I wouldn’t always accept as good.
       4. Don’t reprimand him harshly for something he’s been allowed to do.
       5. Daily routine: eating, homework, bath, teeth, room, story, bed.
       6. Don’t allow him to monopolize me when I am with other people.
       7. Always speak well of his pop. (No faces, sighs, impatience, etc.)
       8. Do not discourage childish fantasies.
       9. Make him aware that there is a grown-up world that’s none of his business.
      10. Don’t assume that what I don’t like to do (bath, hairwash) he won’t like either.
