I had a good day today. Started the day off with a trip to the dentist (that, I didn't like). Work was fine, banana took me out to dinner, at a newly-opened Italian resto. I didn't like the pasta I ordered, so I ate off banana's plate (ravioli). The little resto looked so nice and romantic, and the food looked so good I wished I brought my cam.

I am married to a good ol' country boy from the South. To be honest, there wasn't any major adjustment on my part. The transition from a single Boholana to a married woman with a dili ingon nato husband was relatively easy for me. Ang medyo frustrating lang for me in the beginning (and in fact, until now) was communicating with people here. Naglisod ko'g sabot sa ilang southern accent, some have really thick southern drawls. I had fun today, went shopping for birthday gifts with my MIL and banana's niece and nephew. Then later, ning attend mi'g birthday party. As usual, typical nga pagkaon sa mga kano, dili maka busog. Hehehe. So, kaon na pud ko pag uli.

Naglaway ko sa lechon ninyo Ms Grazie. yum yum yum. Kung maka uli kos Pinas puhon, mag sinaw jud ning akong simod, lechon puhon akong banatan ug kaon pamahaw, paniudto, panihapon.

And this is what makes me happy: that I've finally accepted me...the good, the bad, the ugly...warts and all.

Right now, daghan siyang gipa eskwela nga among mga parente. A lot of his employees are working students. Daghan syang mga gi sponsor pud nga pari. When I see him, I see a happy man. He lives a simple life himself but he uses his money to help others. His wealth serves a greater purpose.

On the other hand, I know someone who's extremely wealthy. But his family life is so chaotic. He's a drug addict, his son is a drug addict, his wife is a beeyotch and they fight all the time, it's just one big mess. And despite his wealth, wala jud siya'y natabangan nga tawo. He lives in a palatial home, everytime I saw him (sa Pinas pa), he had a new car. But his life is all about drugs, booze, whores and a lot of other nasty things. He is one of the unhappiest people I know. And I think it's because, for him, having money is an end in itself. It serves no greater purpose in his life than a means to acquire more material things...really, how many houses can a person have? how many cars? how many millions in the bank?

My day has been really stressful.



I'm glad the work day's over though.

It came out really well, I used spring roll wrappers instead of the traditional lumpia wrapper.

IMO, mas crispy ang resulta sa spring roll, so I'll be using this from now on.
