personal loan mankaha na...unya si pnoy man kaha mobayad dili ang gobyerno...whats wrong with that people...? Kaning mga pinoy puro jealousy ang ang mopalit si pnoy og toyota corolla sa iyang status before siya na senator and president naa naman siyay BMW, mercedez benz, etc...

it is natural man sigoro na ang mga tao who cannot possess will envy those who have. instead of minding one's business, they defame, and say derogatory accusations against those who are able to afford.

God rewards those who work hard, who give generously, and if it means being able to enjoy some simple enjoyments in life, then so be it. For God blesses not only in graces, but also in fruitful bounty!

Well said, arki.

ah, the price of being a public figure.  if he bought a tartanilla, would animal rights groups have complained that he has no regard for the poor horse?

one, he can afford it, whether he's president or not.

yes, there are the poor among us, but so have other countries.  it's been decades of self-flagellation and self-pity, the poor have become the best excuse for blaming just about anybody else for anything in our country.

well said. if one has the financial means to buy/invest, then so be it. besides, it is the capitalist nature that drives the economic machine. what one person buys / purchases with his/ her money should be of no concern to others.

it is envy and nosy body attitude of some people that should be avoided in the first place.

if a man has the means to buy a product. and does buy it, no one should give a damn. its not your money. so it should be none of your business, diba?

mo buot diay sila?

ang problema is that there will be others na ma ibog. but that is natural. others will want what they cannot have.

A typical wedding here in the United States is quite expensive. A friend of mine recently had a Roman Catholic Wedding in church and post-wedding festivities a banquet hall for 150 heads. The cost of everything was over $100,000.

Poems and Poets / Heart Island
January 14, 2011, 12:56:12 AM
Stranded on this jagged heart shaped island,
Sending emotions out in bottles to the rising tides,
Wondering if love will someday find me.

Loneliness becomes routine,
The wind, the sun and the moon are my friends.
Holding conversations keeps the enemy of solitude away.

The weakening mind fades in and out of reality,
But is still stronger then the heart,
Whose sense of belonging has been lost.

Ships pass in the night,
As dreams pass with awakening,
Interrupting a world of joyful pretend.

Sharks of insecurities threaten any escape,
And possible rescues always end in disaster,
Confirming a life long sentence.

Occasional new discoveries upon the island,
Lead to the small hope of recovery,
But memories of past failures,
Once again sink and drown all optimism.

The wbc also pickets the funerals of the lgbt (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community. Now, the Church teaches that homosexual acts are "intrinsically disordered" and "contrary to natural law", however, to picket their funerals etc is beyond forgiveness.

For me, it is unbelievable that a 'baptist church' can be so full of hate. that relishes on the sufferings of others. especially on this week's Arizona shooting that has hurt and pained our country so.

May God turn their hearts....

#25808
It is disgusting for a supposed 'church' to spread such hatred. This church, isles, is also infamous for picketting the funerals of American soldiers killed in Iraq, Afghanistan. It is a church of hatred, imho.

May God have mercy on their souls...

Bible Study / Today's Mass Readings
January 14, 2011, 12:10:12 AM
Reading 1
Heb 3:7-14

   The Holy Spirit says:
Oh, that today you would hear his voice,
â€œHarden not your hearts as at the rebellion
in the day of testing in the desert,
where your ancestors tested and tried me
and saw my works for forty years.
Because of this I was provoked with that generation
and I said, ‘They have always been of erring heart,
and they do not know my ways.’
As I swore in my wrath,
â€˜They shall not enter into my rest.’”
   Take care, brothers and sisters,
that none of you may have an evil and unfaithful heart,
so as to forsake the living God.
Encourage yourselves daily while it is still “today,”
so that none of you may grow hardened by the deceit of sin.
We have become partners of Christ
if only we hold the beginning of the reality firm until the end.

Ps 95:6-7c, 8-9, 10-11
Responsorial Psalm

  R. ( 8 ) If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
   Come, let us bow down in worship;
let us kneel before the LORD who made us.
   For he is our God,
and we are the people he shepherds, the flock he guides.
   R. If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Oh, that today you would hear his voice:
â€œHarden not your hearts as at Meribah,
as in the day of Massah in the desert,
   Where your fathers tempted me;
they tested me though they had seen my works.”
   R. If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
   Forty years I was wearied of that generation;
I said: “This people’s heart goes astray,
they do not know my ways.”
Therefore I swore in my anger:
â€œThey shall never enter my rest.”
   R. If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Mk 1:40-45
Gospel

A leper came to him and kneeling down begged him and said,
â€œIf you wish, you can make me clean.”
Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand,
touched the leper, and said to him,
â€œI do will it. Be made clean.”
The leprosy left him immediately, and he was made clean.
Then, warning him sternly, he dismissed him at once.
Then he said to him, “See that you tell no one anything,
but go, show yourself to the priest
   and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed;
that will be proof for them.”
The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter.
   He spread the report abroad
so that it was impossible for Jesus to enter a town openly.
He remained outside in deserted places,
and people kept coming to him from everywhere.

In a truly disgusting turn of events, the Westboro Baptist Church headed by maniac Fred Phelps will be picketing the funeral of the 9 year old AZ shooting victim Christina Green.

Source:

Westboro Baptist Church, founded by its spiritual leader, Fred Phelps, and run mostly by family members, did not respond to a request for an interview in time for this article. But a flier released by the church about the picket targets the Roman Catholic Church because Christina and her family were members.

"God hates Catholics!" the flier, posted on the church's "God Hates (word that will be deleted by site filter)" website, says. "God calls your religion 'vain,' as it's empty of His truth; you worship idols!"

They also have their other usual crazy reasons and are thanking God for the shooter.

There is no definite way or exact procedure nor guidelines how to have an effective prayer,  it is a complex activity, it associates all aspects in our life, social, emotional, physical among others.   you can pray or communicate God anywhere,  everywhere and anytime but we cannot demand God to have an outright result of what we prayed for.  God may  answer  our prayers  without our knowledge,  it may be indirectly or directly. Sometimes we can find the answers deep inside our hearts.

hehehe. true true. good point. in fact, my tito, who left the priesthood to marry is a lay minister now. he is a really good man, from the way he talks, to his mannerisms.

seminarians , generally, have a distinct characteristic feature about them. their reservation and their professionalism is something that makes them stand out.

tho my tito no longer is a priest, he still retains some of those priestly traits. he is a very good man.

the bottomline....... let the priests marry, legalize it or just leave the priesthood. at least we know the reason that they fall in love with the opposite sex and not of the same sex... ;) God will understand, I think. However, if the Roman Catholic Church would implement stiffer penalty because of this mere violation or breaking the vows of celibacy/ chastity... one of these days, we'll  run out of priests... ;).. priests have the feelings to.... whether we like or not, they are subject to..

i admire your friend, bai. at least he did not live a life of duplicity. he not only left the priesthood to marry a woman (which is honorable, actually, am sure he took some time to discern that life-changing decision). he chose one or the other. but then again, there are some priests that do choose to live a double life style.

as much as many people would look down on some priests for leaving the priesthood to pursue marriage / private life, i actually have alot of respect for them.

because i can imagine how hard it was for them to leave a calling that they had in their youth.

however, it only reinforces the notion that not all men are cut out to be priests. lengthy discernment is necessary , imho, before one truly realizes if a priestly life is for them.

peace!!

i would even compare this to a man having an affair.

a man who is married , and has children with his wife ; and at the same time is having an affair with another woman. is this right? morally, is it right?

the answer is : no , it is morally wrong. it is an affront to the wife, and the children. tho it be pleasing to the man and his mistress, sexually.

in the end, it is wrong.

a priest , when ordained, is married to Christ and the Church.

a food for thought.

bitaw, there is nothing wrong with falling in love. in fact, i have a tito who was a priest, but left the priesthood in order to court a woman whom he fell in love with. both are now married.

the priesthood is not for everyone.

perhaps, the priest that the OP mentioned is doubting his decision. If he feels that he truly loves the woman, he should considering leaving the vocation and live a private life, and God-willing, even marry this woman if it is in his plans, of course.

whatever his decision is, i hope he discerns and prays. may the Holy Spirit help him discern to make the right choice. he has to pick one from the other.

who do you think ang sad an? ang girl ? o ang priest? i have a friend who is in that kind of relationship.

Both parties are adults, both parties know the effects, and if they are still inclined to continue the relationship, then the priest should leave the priesthood proper and cease living a double life. If he cannot honor the calling of the priesthood, one pillar of which is priestly celibacy, then leave the priesthood.

Simple.

There is nothing wrong with living a life of the laity, one can still live a holy life and not be a priest. If they both love each other, then so be it. For me lang, the male should leave the priestly vocation so as he can devote all of himself to his lover.

God Bless them both.

Perhaps Mr. Lorenzo could explain to us more about post mortem erection. Or perhaps it was a pre mortem erection that became transfixed when rigor mortis set in. But ejaculation in that state of expiration is baffling indeed.

A dead man pretending to be alive grabbing the final opportunity to achieve "imortality" by leaving an offspring behind one last time?

Upon death, all bowels are voided (to an extent) and the penile constrictor muscles loose the inhibitory constriction. However, there are instances where the ejaculate was not totally purged during the voiding process. When this woman 'straddled' the specimen she effectively helped in the voiding process by releasing all the remaining ejaculate that were still trapped deep in the penile shaft.

Considering that sperm can live inside a woman's vagina for up to 48-72 hours before lysis, we can assume that the male specimen was dead no more than 2 days considering the high viability of his sperm. Hence the impregnation of the said female necrophiliac.

Her impregnation is due to the fact that penis was voided of its ejaculatory reserve, all of the contents were also released. We can expect a high voluminous result.

Can you imagine of she did this if the specimen was embalmed? All that formalyn would have destroyed her vaginal epithelial lining/ not to mention the CNS toxicity related to formalyn.

The wedding that my parents had represented Traditional Filipino Wedding. It was something that my father and mother planned. Considering all expenses were covered by my father , it was symbolic, actually. The union between the two families, and the beauty and organization of it all was captured in the recording that was made in 1984.

My father had hired video crews from Tagbilaran to video tape the entire ceremony. All of which survived to this day. We had recently converted the old tape to DVD and in in it are the preserved voices, pictures, films of my grandmothers, both of whom are gone. I was able to see my parents walk the isle through their preserved videos, and to see how beautiful my mother was dressed , and how handsome my father enrobed in his barong tagalog.

Inpsiring kaayo. They were both wed in Santo Nino Parish Church in Valencia, Bohol. The same church that my grandparents were wed in, and my great-grandparents before them, and my great-great grandparents before them...

The structural difference - a membrane is made of a phospholipid bilayer - small phospholipid molecules in two layers facing opposite directions. Protein tubes, meant for facilitated diffusion, occur along the membrane as well. The membrane is flexible. The cell wall is a rigid wall of carbohydrates. Cell membranes occur in plant and animal cells (although I'm not absolutely sure about prokaryotes, only eukaryotes) while walls are only in plant cells (again, i'm not absolutely sure about prokaryotes).

The functional difference - the membrane is for holding the cell together and somewhat for shaping it, but it's more so for controlling which substances will enter and exit the cell and which ones will not. This is what the gaps between the phospholipid molecules and the special protein tubes are for. The cell wall is to maintain rigid shape and hold the cell together.

If it is according to God's Will, I would like to have my wedding as grand as my parents'. The wedding of my parents,  Engr. & Mrs. Lucino was all provided for by my father , who purchased a wedding dress that was woven and made in Cebu; to the maidens and the guests of honor. From the cost of the mass, cost of the dresses, transportation etc, to the feeding of the whole town of Valencia, all of it was provided for by my father.

My father provided my mother with a memorable wedding in Valencia's Santo Nino Parish Church. Amongst all the people of the town.

in regards to the notion of mermaids, my lolo ciano (who was a fisherman, farmer, business man etc) would tell me of the old tales the valencianon fishermen would say. seeing mermaids in the night while fishing etc. then when i asked him if he believed in mermaids, my lolo ciano (a pure blooded valencianon) said to me : "ondoy, mangisda ko sa una, ahong papa ug lolo mangisda pood, pero di mi mo tuo nga naay serena sa dagat. ang Ginoo ra'y tinuod..."

My grandfather, a devotee of Senor Santo Nino, always shied us away from thinking and believing on notions of diwatas, enkantas etc.

He used to say to an old friend of his who was superstitious, "ngano mo tuo man ka sa mga enkanta , diwata? Pag tuo nga naay Usang Ginoo. Ang Ginoo naa nimo ug naa nako. Ang Ginoo mo hatag ug pan para sa atong lawas. Ang Ginoo may mo hatag ug sustensya para sa atong lawas. Ang Ginoo pood mo patay nimo ug imuha nang panahon." His friend said nothing after that.

I hold the same belief as my Lolo Ciano. :)

When a patient immediately suffers a heart attack (Myocardial Infarct), the standard medical cocktail given (to prevent post-mi arrthymic induced death) are the following:

1. Morphine
2. Lidocaine
3. Oxygen
4. Nitroglycerin
5. Aspirin

I had a patient who suffered an MI on the bed, and after stabilizing, he was placed in the said pills. Because of the Lidocaine, we prevented post-MI arrthymia (which is the #1 cause of death for post-MI patients).

Thus, saving his life 2 times.

For those who have a family history of Heart Attack, check your levels. You might be at risk. Don't be afraid to consult your cardiologist.

And remember. Health IS Wealth.

On that note:

If i were the acting internal medicine doctor, and if i had a patient with thrombotic diseases, the plan of action would be to:

1. identify the platelet aggregation pathology
2. treat the cause

---

in treating the cause we identify that platelet aggregation occurs because of the following:

a. vWF (von willibrand factor)
b. ADP (adenosine di phosphate)
c. COX
d. thrombotic growth

I will treat this by attacking the said factors/ inhibit it.

A. prescribe vWF inhibitors
B. prescrib ADP blockers : Ticlopidine and Clopidogrel
C. prescribe COX inhibitors: Aspirin
D. prescribe direct thrombus blockers: Hirudin / hirudin derivatives
E. block glycoprotein factor IIa/IIIb by: Abciximab

Then, monitor levels.
Ask patient to return in a month.
Perform a cbc later that month; check rbc and wbc.

Halo Doc Bran,

Can I take aspirin daily even if I'm not suffering or experiencing signs of heart problems?  Are there any side effects?

Thanks,

Bedo

Bedo, aspirin is also known as a COX inhibitor. It effectively prevents platelets from aggregating further, thereby preventing further thrombosis / thrombocclusive diseases to manifest.

In acute cases, it would be necessary to take heparin / warfarin (if one is taking heparin, one should monitor one's PTT levels and if one is taking warfarin one should monitor the PT levels).

Your local cardiologist should be able to prescribe you these if necessary.

Good luck!

When I study Psychotherapy , I cannot help but refer to what Freud , himself, referred to it as the processes of recollection, repetition, and working through, which makes up the totality of remembering, reliving and gaining insight. These mentioned essentials illustrates the role  and duty of the psychotherapist with that of the patient. In order for these processes to be realized, there are three factors that must be observed in providing effective psychotherapy. There has to be a solid, comfortable and trusting relationship between therapist and patient and essential to this relationship is empathy, knowledge of the material, and a psychoanalytic setting.

In regards to empathy,  the therapist has to retain a sense of neutrality with the patient and empathy in their situation, and it is necessary for the patient to develop a sense of trust with the therapist and thus can open up to the therapist. By doing this the patient can better relinquish former regressive patterns and develop new, more adaptive ones, as she or he learns the reasons for the behavioral pathology. This is why empathy is necessary to achieve some sort of self understanding and insight to the underlying psychopathology.

Like any professional in a field of interest, one needs to have mastery of a subject material , pass all licensing boards, and practice. A psychotherapist should have the degree , the training, and the expertise to practice his or her field. These prerequisites are necessary in order for one to establish a practice and be employed in the field.

The third factor that is essential is the psychoanalytic setting. Psychoanalysis has to take place in a professional environment, outside from the realities and stresses of life. In this setting, the patient is in a ‘sanctuary’ so to say from external stressors ; it is in this setting that the patient and the therapist develop a trusting and professional relationship. The psychoanalytic setting must promote relaxation and regression, thus allow the practice of effective psychotherapy.

There are ethical and diversity issues that relate to counseling responsibility. The ethical issues that one has to deal with would regard to abstinence, especially considering that most patients will have a libidal need and direct a transference of affection to the therapist. It is a professional requirement that the therapist evade creating any romantic relationship with a patient. One has to keep thing strictly platonic. Diversity issues might arise when some patients come from a different part of the world and express foreign beliefs and practices that might be different from the standard norm that the therapist is used to. In this regard, the therapist should be understanding the cultural implications and effects on why a patient thinks a certain way, practices a certain ritual etc.

Dili man tanan nasapian nag-ampo. Prayer is seeking God's will so that our personal decisions in life will be aligned to it. Kung dili kabubut-on sa Diyos nga maadunahan ta, dili gyud ta maadunahan. But we should pray and discern if it's God's will for us to be rich, and work for it. The poor can have simple pleasures, the rich can have great pressures...  It's God who decides what we can handle and what's best for us.

Well said, Tito Ben.

Motuo Ka ug Serena?

when i went to loon, bohol, i was given a tour by a town official. they took me to an old pool in loon in close proximity to a fish farm. one thing that i noticed about the pool was that it was quite dark in color (blueish green); the local official told me that the pool is deep , probably close to 50 feet deep and that the temperature in there was quite cold. he then told me that the old folklore in loon is that there are 'people' living in the pool.

absurd bitaw. i told him that the reasons why the pool is cold is that the stream that empties to the pool comes from the bukid, and the reasons why there is dark plants coming out of the pool is because of the eutrophication around the water-bed. considering the large nitrogen, and phosphorus run-offs from the farms, and human housings around the water-bed.

as for the folklore of 'mga enkanta' that live in the water, i merely smiled at his comment. di ko mo tuo ana. that in itself is a remnant of pagan worship prior to the christianization of the philippines; and some of that belief is still quite high in loon, bohol---per se the beliefs in diwatas and enkantas. why there are even some people in valencia that believe that there are enkantas in the panangatan river and in badjang springs.

Oh blessed Senor Santo Nino,

The most miraculous image of the Infant Jesus Christ,
continue to protect those who have recourse to you,
let us not suffer want in this world of troubles,
but cleanse us all who have recourse to you,
and cover us with your protection, love, and glorious blessings.

Senor Santo Nino, loving God,
Continue to watch over my daily walkings,
and that I may do what is according only to your will.

Senor Santo Nino, loving God,
please continue, O Lord, to watch over my family.
Keep the health and spirits of my dear mother,
my dear father, my dear sister, my dear brothers,
my beloved lolo ciano, my aunts, my uncles, and cousins.

This I ask and pray in your name, Jesus Christ.
Amen.

ayaw na lang mo sa networking kay daginoton ang inyong kwarta. Maayo pay e swertres kay basin ug makadaog pa. I am one of the victim.

Mr. Daray,

You give a wise advice. In Medicine, when we treat the disease, healing takes time and requires consistency in medication regimen. The same goes for financial growth: gains take time to accumulate.

In medicine, the plan for treatment of a disease is long-term management and check up. There are no 'quick fixes' in medicine, and so should it be for financial gain. As the body requires time to heal, so too, does accumulating wealth through honest / hard work.

I do not believe in any such 'miracle' drug that cures everything. There is no such thing. Nor do i believe in pyramid schemes.

I am wary of anyone who proclaims positives of such without legitimized information and backing.

Fools are made such ways.
