Take constant notes with one hand, and fiddle with something else in the other hand. It helps. The dual "stimulation" keeps your brain focused in two seperate places, so even if you find what your teacher is saying is boring... you are still being stimulated by whatever it is you're doing with your other hand.

Philippine Daily News / MAG-INGAT SA MAKATI
June 23, 2007, 10:01:22 PM
I'm sure you guys have read all those emails on taking all precaution when going anywhere. Well, here's another one... To those working near makati or dumadaan din.. just want to share this story...

Mga freinds ingat lang po. sa me mga kotse, My best freind, who works in a reputable bank here in makati, experience last wednesday evening na nakakashock to the bones, Going home from the usual trabaho, sakay sya ng kanyang 1990 Honda Civic.

Just want to share this with everyone specially those going home, Be extra careful! this happen to my cousin just lately and we are trying to pass this on to as many Filipinos as we can...

Hers's the scam story. Just want to share some sad news with all of you that might benefit you, as well as your relatives, friends and anyone you know back home in the Philippines. I will be sending a more detailed email of the incident later that we can all forward around to share with our Filipino community as a Warning to as many people as possible, but here's quick summary: My uncle went home to the Philippines to plan their retirement and he had P550,000.00 (US $ 10,000.00) to start building their house out there. They have an account in PNB so last week he went in to deposit the money.

He come in to the PNB bank and asked a security guard for help so he can speak directly to a Manager so he can deposit the money. The guard pointed for him to go to an area inside the bank where a personnel would help him. He was approached by a woman wearing the bank uniform and all. So my uncle started dealing with this lady. She was woking with my uncle to deposit his moneey... She sat with him and started doing the transaction. Once in a while she would leave the desk to go to the back to get a Manager Signature or talk with someone.

Well my uncle dealt with this lady for than 45 minutes, while she goes back and forth to him and the Manager's office. With in that 45 minutes, she kept having him filled out forms for the deposite and all the process, then took the cash and my uncle's savings book BUT NEVER RETURNED. When she never come back, my uncle went to the guard and other employees in the bank to ask where this lady is (she even gave a name) and all of them told him that she is not an employess of the bank, and she ran off with his cash just like that!

My uncle asked for the Branch manager and he was told that they couldn't help him since he was daeling with a person that did not work for their bank. This lady was allowed to scam my uncle for 45 minutes inside the PNB BANK, wearing their uniform, had success to the back and all sudden no one has seen her or know about her. Talk about something "fishy". My uncle confronted the bank to call the police and he was denied the request. Again their reason was because he should not have trusted the lady and they couldn' do anything about it because its not their employee.

He even asked to play back what the surveillance camera might have captured since the whole thing was going on inside a restricted area inside their bank, but he was told that they do not have camera. Hmmm, isn't it weird that the bank as big as PNB does not have surveillance camera, but other small stores like 7-11 does? So my uncle had to be the one to call the police and file a report. This incident is under investigation right now and PNB supposedly is trying to figure out what happen but its pretty clear that the whole thing was an inside job because they are all covering for one another.

Its so easy to get away with such a scam when its in cash and can happen inside PNB. My family knows Vic Lima (he has his own radio talk show in the Phillipines) and they are doing coverage on this because there's other stories about PNB that can also be considered a SCAM. If you have an account with PNB or know people that hyave business with them please WARN them that something like this can happen to them and to be very carefull.

You can't even trust their own employees! Its such a shame that things like this still goes on back home. So its no wonder the Philippines is considered one of the most corrupt countries around. Kaolaw no?: If anyone knows someone who works for Filipino newspapers here in USA or in Canada, please let them know so that they can share this news with local Filipino community, and more people will be aware of this type of scam inside a PNB Bank..

Susie is recuperating at an incredible pace for someone with a massive stroke all because Sherry saw Susie stumble - -that is the key that isn't mentioned below - and then she asked Susie the 3 questions.

This literally saved Susie's life - - Some angel sent it to Susie's friend and she did just what it said to do. Susie failed all three so 911 was called. Even though she had normal blood pressure readings and did not appear to be having a stroke, as she could converse to some extent with the Paramedics, they took her to the hospital right away. Thank God for the sense to remember the 3 questions!

Read and Learn! Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify.
Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke. Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:
1. *Ask the individual to SMILE.

2. *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

3. *Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE.

If he or she has trouble with any of these tasks,
call for medical assistance immediately and describe the symptoms to the
dispatcher.

After discovering that a group of non medical volunteers could identify facial weakness, arm weakness and speech problems, researchers urged the general public to learn the three questions. They presented their conclusions at the American Stroke Association's annual meeting last February.Widespread use of this test could result in prompt diagnosis and treatment of the stroke and prevent brain damage

PESOS", nakaka-alarma di bah! biro mo ang dami nun para ma-check so ang gagawin nila ganito, i-detalye ko hah!;

1. pagpunta mo ng Manila airport, kumpleto ang papeles mo at alam mong o.k., not to mention authenticated yan ng Embassy sa Abu Dhabi

3. Pagdating mo sa airline counter, they will check your ticket and
passport and they would ask for your visa copy or original, napakita mo

..

Love Talk / Be a little green deaf frog...
June 23, 2007, 09:42:20 PM
Once upon a time there was a bunch of tiny frogs.... who arranged a running competition.

The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.

A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants....

The race began....

Honestly:

No one in the crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower.

You heard statements such as:

"Oh, WAY too difficult!!"

"They will NEVER make it to the top."

or:

"Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!"

The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one....

Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher....

The crowd continued to yell, "It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!"

More tiny frogs got tired and gave up....

But ONE continued higher and higher and higher....

This one wouldn't give up!

At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!

THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it?

A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal?

It turned out....

That the winner was DEAF!!!!

The wisdom of this story is:

Never listen to other people's tendencies to be

negative or pessimistic.... because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you -- the ones you have in your heart!

Always think of the power words have.

Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!

Therefore:

ALWAYS be....

POSITIVE!

And above all:

Be DEAF when people tell YOU that you cannot fulfill your dreams!

Always think:

God and I can do this!

Jokes and Humor / Who Wants to be a Millionaire
June 23, 2007, 09:36:07 PM
A contestant on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" had reached the final plateau. If she answered the next question correctly, she would win $1,000,000. If she answered incorrectly, she would pocket only the $32,000 milestone money.

As she suspected it would be, the million-dollar question was no pushover It was: Which of the following species of birds does not build its own nest, but instead lays its eggs in the nests of other
birds?

Is it:

A) the condor;
B) the buzzard;
C) the cuckoo; or
D) the vulture?"

The woman was on the spot. She did not know the answer. And she was doubly on the spot because she had used up her 50/50 Lifeline and her Audience Poll Lifeline. All that remained was her Phone-a-Friend
Lifeline, and the woman had hoped against hope that she would not have to use it because the only friend that she knew would be home happened to be a blonde.
But the contestant had no alternative. She called her friend and gave her the question and the four choices.

The blonde responded unhesitatingly:

"That's easy. The answer is C: The cuckoo."

The contestant had to make a decision and make it fast. She considered employing a reverse strategy and giving Regis any answer except the one that her friend had given her. And considering that her friend was a blonde, it would seem to be the logical thing to do.
On the other hand -- the blonde had responded with such confidence, such certitude, that the contestant could not help but be persuaded.

"I need an answer," said Regis.

Crossing her fingers, the contestant said, "C: The cuckoo."

"Is that your final answer?" asked Regis.

"Yes, that is my final answer."

Two seconds later, Regis said, "I regret to inform you that the answer is:
.................................................................

................................................................

.................................................................

..................................................................

.................absolutely correct. You are now a millionaire!"

Three days later, the contestant hosted a party for her family and friends including the blonde who had helped her win the million dollars.

"Jenny, I just do not know how to thank you," said the contestant. "Because of your knowing the answer to that final question, I am now a millionaire. And do you want to know something? It was your assuredness with which you answered the question that convinced me to go with your choice. By the way ......how did you
happen to know the right answer?"

"Oh, come on!" said the blonde. "Everybody knows that cuckoos don't build nests. They live in clocks!"

Studies show that drinking two to three glasses of red wine daily is good for the heart.

The antioxidants properties in red wine lowers the risk of heart disease. However, there is still no proof that consuming antioxidants actually lowers the risk of heart and artery disease.

Besides drinking red wine daily, there are other ways to reduce heart disease. Eating fresh fruits, vegetables and fish, and reduced intake of milk products can reduce the risk of heart disease.

If you're the oldest sibling living in your house there's new information that pertains to you. You might really be smarter than your brothers and sisters.

New research has some surprising answers for those who are the oldest sibling in the house.

Birth order has been linked with many personality traits over the years. First-born children are said to be more obedient, hard-working, and high-achieving, while younger children are reportedly more easy-going, creative and sociable.
But a new study finds that first-born children may have a slight edge in intelligence.

according to the research but for me, may be 50 % only..

;D ;D ;D firstly, don't worry about it guys !! Don't be fooled, lots of men have small penises, not all men are "well hung" like the locker room showmen and advertising and sex books etc.
You go ahead and have romance with your girl and do it with confidence, i can assure you there are not that many women who would comment on it. As you progress you will learn the ability to have your girl satisfied long before you penetrate.
You go ahead and enjoy it mate, I'm sure she will as well. If you find this subject difficult to talk through with anyone, feel free to post over TUBAG BOHOL  and we will do our best to help you through it mate. Good luck.  ;D ;D ;D

To me true love that you are referring to is AMAZING.
You must think about this person in a sense as to , you care about their wellbeing (even if it doesn't suit you.) You would want them to be safe and happy no matter where you stand in the picture. As far as dying goes, if you truly love a person he or she will be in your heart forever.

Have you ever been on a diet or tried different dietary supplements to help you burn fat or build muscle?  Have you ever worried about your weight and said things like, “I feel so fat!”  Have you ever overeaten because you were feeling anxious, lonely, or depressed, and then felt really guilty and disgusted about yourself afterwards?  Have you ever seen these types of concerns take over someone’s life and progress into a full-blown eating disorder?

As many as 10% of high school and college students have some form of serious eating disorder (including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder).  A great many more young women, and a significant minority of men, find their lives restricted on a daily basis by a negative body image, food or weight preoccupation, exercise addiction, and unhealthy dieting practices.  Consider these alarming facts:

Facts about Girls & Women
75% of college-age women consider themselves overweight, even though most are within a normal weight range (and 45% are actually underweight).

More girls and women fear becoming fat than they fear dying.

By 4th grade, 80% of California girls have been on their first diet.

In high school more than 2/3 of girls are dieting at any given moment.

Almost 1 out of every 2 adult women is on a diet at any given moment.

1 in 5 high school girls take diet pills, and many more are using laxatives, diuretics, fasting, and vomiting in desperate attempts to slice their bodies as slim as they can.

Despite all this dieting, obesity rates have increased a staggering 60% over the past 2 decades.  And, now it’s estimated that more than half of adult women are overweight or obese.

Eating disorders kill, with the highest mortality rate of any mental illness.

Love Talk / The Irish Sex Fairy
June 22, 2007, 06:17:05 AM

1. Sex is a beauty treatment. Scientific tests find that when women make love they produce amounts of the hormone estrogen, which makes hair shine and skin smooth.

2. Gentle, relaxed lovemaking reduces your chances of suffering dermatitis, skin rashes and blemishes. The sweat produced cleanses the pores and makes your skin glow.
=============
3. Lovemaking can burn up those calories you piled on during that romantic dinner.
=============
4. Sex is one of the safest sports you can take up. It stretches and tones up just about every muscle in the body. It's more enjoyable than swimming 20 laps, and you don't need special sneakers!
=============
5. Sex is an instant cure for mild depression. It releases endorphins into the bloodstream, producing a sense of euphoria and leaving you with a feeling of well-being.
=============
6. The more sex you have, the more you will be offered. The sexually active body gives off greater quantities of chemicals called
pheromones. These subtle sex perfumes drive the opposite sex crazy!
===========! ==
7 . Sex is the safest tranquilizer in the world. IT IS 10 TIMES MORE EFFECTIVE THAN VALIUM.
=============
8. Kissing each day will keep the dentist away. Kissing encourages saliva to wash food from the teeth and lowers the level of the acid that causes decay, preventing plaque build-up.
=============

9. Sex actually relieves headaches. A lovemaking session can release the tension that restricts blood vessels in the brain.
=============

10. A lot of lovemaking can unblock a stuffy nose. Sex is a natural antihistamine. It can help combat asthma and hay fever.

dear bolanons,
i hope you enjoy reading these poems and i hope that at least one poem made you think about life's realities. more follows

GISUOT NIYA ANG IYANG KAULAY NGA DAW MAHALONG ALAHAS
She Wears Her Virginity Like a Precious Jewel

Gisuot niya ang iyang kaulay daw mahalong alahas,
She wears her virginity like a precious jewel, nga

makatawag og pagtagad pero natago sa kailaloman
making it so noticeable yet hidden in the depths

of her folds of flesh and clothes,

cleaned, if possibly, hourly, like a precious jewel,

mahalon kining alahas, ang way tugbang nga alahas.
it is a precious jewel, the priceless jewel.

Ang pinakahumok ug pinakamahal.
The softest yet the dearest.

Wala pa gyud ni niya ipakita kang bisan kinsa
Never did she show it to anyone

Anha na kung human sa altar
Yet until after the altar

kay ang iyang kaulay daw mahalong alahas.
for her virginity is like a priceless jewel.

Sa iyang pag-inusara sa iyang mga damgo,
In her solitude of dreams,

she keeps it for posterity like a priceless jewel

nahawiran lamang sa iyang mga kamot,
touched only by the flesh in her hands,

tenderly with the softest soap of soaps,

bubho sa tanang bubho,
shampoo of all shampoos,

panghinlo sa tanang panghinlo.
cleaners of all cleaners.

Kinahanglan kining presko ug mahinlo, sama sa mahalong alahas.
It must be fresh and clean, like a priceless jewel.

Aron iyang masuot, gihalaran sa iyang pagkatago
So she could wear it, adored in its secrecy

as imagined by men, in and out of sight,

who wish to possess it one day.

But her virginity is a priceless jewel

ug ihatag lamang niya kini
and only will she give it

human sa altar.
after the altar.

Love Talk / work from your heart..
June 22, 2007, 05:26:34 AM
An elderly carpenter was ready to retire.

He told his employer contractor of his plans to leave
the house building business and live a more leisurely
life with his wife enjoying his extended family. He
would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire.
They could get by.

The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and
asked if he could build just one more house as a
personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time
it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work.

He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior
materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a
dedicated career.

When the carpenter finished his work the employer came
to inspect the house. He handed the front-door key to
the carpenter.

This is your house, he said, 'my gift to you.'

The carpenter was shocked! What a shame! If he had
only known he was building his own house, he would
have done it all so differently.

So it is with us.

We build our lives, a day at a time, often putting
less than our best into the building. Then with a
shock we realize we have to live in the house we have
built.

If we could do it over, we'd do it much differently.
But we cannot go back.

You are the carpenter. Each day you hammer a nail,
place a board, or erect a wall. Life is a
do-it-yourself project, someone has said.

Your attitudes and the choices you make today, build
the 'house' you live in tomorrow.

Build wisely!

Colossians 3:23-24, "Whatever you do, work at it with
all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men,
since you know that you will receive an inheritance
from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you
are serving."

This is an email forwarded ....

FYI.

guys... alam nyo ba yung shampoo and conditioner na SUNSILK SUMMER
FRESH?.. One of the ingredients of it is the "Formaldehyde" which is
commonly called "Formalin" - Yes, yung ginagamit pang embalsamo ng dead
people.. scary noh? (See for your self if you doubt about it)..

Actually,
I already called the Unilever Customer Care and confirm to them that
"Formaldehyde is actually the Formalin, and they said, "Yes, its
Formalin, but they just put to the shampoo, a little amount so that it
is still safe to the people...".. Pero diba, kahit little amount lang
yung nilalagay nila sa shampoo but if everyday tayo gumagamit, everyday
Formalin.

I also searched to the internet "What is Formaldehyde? " and here are some definitions of it:

A chemical used in manufacturing and chemical industries, and as a preservative by anatomists,
embalmers, and pathologists. Being exposed to formaldehyde may increase the risk of developing leukemia and brain cancer. www.stjude.org/ glossary

is
a colorless, strong-smelling gas. It is widely used in household
products, such as glue, wood products, permanent press fabrics,
flooring, cabinets, and furniture. enviromysteries. thinkport.
org/breakingthem old/resources/ glossary. shtml

Although not
common as a primary ingredient, formaldehyde is present as a
contaminant in many consumer household products. It is an extremely
potent carcinogen and respiratory irritant and may appear as a
preservative. Products containing this chemical should be considered
unacceptable. www.seventhgenerati on.com/site/ pp.asp

and a lot more... mag search na lang kayo if you need more information about Formaldehyde. :-)

Personally, alarming
sya dahil Formalin is not really good for our health. Though maganda
nga hair natin, but still.. in long run.. if we keep using shampoo /
natin even if we are still alive. What's the use of the good looking
hair, if our health is at risk..

This
e-mail is not for making bad impression to Sunsilk shampoo/conditioner
. I just want to share my opinion regarding this alarming discovery.
It's up to you if you would care to think / reflect about it or not.

Disclaimer:
I have nothing against the SUNSILK SHAMPOO, its just that.. so far, sa Sunsilk ko lang kasi nakita ang Formaldehyde na content.

For Your Information.

Have a Nice Day!!

There's something called Emotional Freedom Therapy. I would find a holistic practitioner who practises that. It helps release negativity and phobias very quickly.

Remember that no one's opinion is more important to you than your own. Their opinions cannot bring you down. Who cares what they think? Stand in your light.

We all know what bad credit can do to our ability to get financial help when it is needed the most.
It is a part of life, things do get out of hand; missing payments and piling up debts.

We don't always control everything that happens to us in life, but that does not make bad credit less damaging.

Bad credit could readily make a bad situation worse. It prevents you from getting loans, financial help or credit cards, or makes you pay neck-breaking interests on loans. Since we all will need credit someday, the earlier you start doing something about that bad credit, the better. It sure will be no good to pay off debts just before requesting credit, because most lenders are more interested in your financial history.

It may not be so easy to repair bad credit, but there are steps you can take to make the whole process easier. So, when you find yourself in such a situation, the following advice could be of great help.

I think the first port of call should be the credit bureaus responsible for providing credit reports in your locality or country. Each country has established credit bureaus with the task of monitoring your credit performance, as reported by financial institutions and you can always get your credit report from these bureaus, free or for a fee, depending on your country. If there is more than one established bureau, you may want to get each body's version of your report. It affords you the privilege of comparing the different versions. The reason why the reports may differ is that they are prepared based on the information supplied to the bureaus and it is possible they get different information about your accounts from different reporters.

Bible Study / Healed by faith in God!
June 21, 2007, 05:42:14 AM
O God, You are our refuge!

But as for me, I will sing about your power.
I will shout with joy each morning
because of your unfailing love.

I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart,
I will declare all your wondrous deeds.

I will delight and rejoice in you;
I will sing hymns to your name, Most High.

For you have been my refuge,
a place of safety in the day of distress.

O My strength, to you I sing praises,
for you, O God, are my refuge,
the God who shows me unfailing love.

You, Lord, are near to all who call upon you,
to all who call upon you in truth.

You satisfy the desire of those who fear you;
you hear their cry and save them.

You, Lord takes pleasure in the devout
those who await your faithful care.

Abba Father, our life is in You Lord;
Our strength is in You Lord,
our hope is in You Lord!

Brothers ans sisters , please pray for one another, those afflicted and sick. (For their full recovery and renewed strength, vigor and vitality.)

Let us pray: Loving and compassionate God, with boldness, confidence and by faith we claim your promise as it is written: "You, LORD, are near to all who call upon you, to all who call upon you in truth. You satisfy the desire of those who fear you; you hear their cry and save them."

Gracious Father, we lift up to you, Grace, touch her, let her not be afraid, comfort her, give her courage, renew her strength, vigor and vitality, make her whole again. As she is a devout servant of the Lord, with great faith in you Lord. She said; the Lord is in control and that we should just pray for His wisdom at this time. Lord, with boldness and confidence, we claim your WORD! "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish." Healed by faith in God!

Abba Father, we ask not our will but yours be done, In Jesus name, please hear our prayers… Amen.
