I will not use the word worry
   I rather say "concern"...
   Someday the cycle of life will return to where it start;
born alone, get married, start a family then
children get married to start on their own
one spouse dies, then you are alone again.... :(
maybe sitting on a rocking chair,
          looking outside  the window while
reminiscing the good old days gone by....
Life, here today and gone tomorrow

Remember:
Senior  Citizens Are Valuable
We  are more valuable than any of the younger  generations:
We have silver in our hair.
We have  gold in our teeth.
We have stones in our kidneys.
We have lead in our feet and ....
We are loaded  with natural  gas.

Billy Bob & the Frog
Billy Bob is 77 years old and loves to fish.
He was sitting in his boat the other day when he heard a voice say, 'Pick me up.'
He looked around and couldn't see any one. img1.gif
He thought he was dreaming when he heard the voice say again, 'Pick me up.'
He looked in the water and there, floating on the top, was a frog.
The man said, 'Are you talking to me?'
The frog said, 'Yes, I'm talking to you.
Pick me up then, kiss me and I'll turn into the most beautiful woman you have ever seen.
I'll make sure that all your friends are envious and jealous because I will be your woman!'
The man looked at the frog for a short time, reached over, picked it up carefully, and placed it in his front breast pocket.
Then the frog said, 'What, are you nuts? Didn't you hear what I said?
I said kiss me and I will be your beautiful bride.'
He opened his pocket, looked at the frog and said,
" Nah, at my age I'd rather have a talking frog."

Hofelina, yes I am a Registered Nurse, tinood daghan gyud kaayo
  gicancer bisan asa dapita.

Pero diri sa ospital akong gitrabahoan naa gyud  gani usa sa nurse manager
sa telemetry kay iyang cancer sa right side of her face ug naoperahan
giabisan iyang dila apil, gani naa sad sa laing floor mao gihapon nga area
sa right side sa nawong pero ang iya naabot na sa iyang tutunlan.
Ubay-ubay gyud noon ni sila, mostly sa breast.. :(

I'm not sure kon it has to do with the spectra-link phone nga dala namo
pirme  while on duty and also the monitor attach to the badge  the staff wears mopick up
sa signal  ug mo show sa wescom computer screen kon may patient
mo call for nurse or aide and trace the staff bisan asa ka  basta sulod lang sa hospital.

Nireklamo ko sa among director hinoon and I refused to wear ani nga monitor
tungod sa radiation (so I thought) but I'm not the only staff that refused though.

Naabot ni sa administrator ug nagsent siyag memo nga tinood may radiation(I was right!)
pero the amount is so minute and it is not harmful.

Well, whatever, nihunong na gyud kog gamit ani noon, I do it the old way in cancelling
the call light in patient's room, cancell it manually imbis automatic mopick up sa signal.
from the monitor hanging on the staff's chest to the control panel in the ceiling inside the  patient's room.

Unya sa hallway naa sa kisame ang  control panel to pick up the monitor mo show sa Wescom screen kon kinsa
nang nisulod sa room or naa sa hallway, full name sa staff.
This is one of the drawback of this so-called high-tech age.

So ang ID badge ra akong gi wear wala nay  monitor...tua na  pirme sulod sa locker.

Yes, that's right naa sa among dughan nagbitay ang badge with the monitor nagtupad kaayo.

Thank you so much for the prayers para sa nasakit nako nga kauban sa trabaho.

May 25, 2010, 11:23:52 PM
I was really amazed about the cancer info, ako giprint para ihatag sa kauban nako nga
RN karon nagleave kay nagterminal stage na iyang breast Ca ug 56 years
ra baya siya, looy kaayo naghilak gyud to siya kay 5 years ago
na siya nadiagnose ug gichemo plus radiation.

The she went on remission, balik trabaho then last February one Saturday morning
we were on the same floor naassign.
I noted she was grimacing and leaning to her right side while holding it
so I inquired if she was sick.
She said, " I have this pain for days now maybe it's my gallbladder"
So ako siya gi assessed about signs and symptoms then I lightly palpate the area
then I said,"I hope I'm wrong but it seems to me that there's something wrong
with your liver, you better call your doctor ASAP"
Niinsist gyud siya nga iya gallbladder and she's okey and worked  till the end of shift.

Two days later after she went to her doctor, she received the bad news;
her breast cancer came back with a vengeance spreading to her spine
 liver and pancreas.
When she saw me in the hospital, she hugged me while sobbing and we both cried
she said," I tried to deny it, but you are right"
As of now she is in the cancer treatment center in Pennsylvania for further treatment.

Then ang ward secretary sa Oncology floor, 41 years old namatay sa breast cancer
ug ang funeral this past Sunday.
I can go on and on but...in summary thanks for the info it's very useful and
I will practice what I know now.
Thanks a million Hofelina.

As the winter days unfolds,

Nindot hunahunaon ning mga plano sa unahan pero
ang nakaapan dili pa duol ang retirement age.

The other day akong kauban nga nurse niingon,
"I just received a letter from the Social Security Office
informing me  that  my retirement age
will be at 66 and a half years old!"
Naunsyalan naman hinoon ni uy, gipatas-an man nila ang eded usa

The standard of living in Europe is much higher compared here in the U.S.
though at present the dollar value has been declining slowly.

It's prevalent in Europe that 50% from the annual gross income of the working class
is paid to the federal taxes ug mao  usab kana  ang giplano sa namunuan dinhi
kay sa pagkakaron bisan sa kadaghan sa buhis wala pa kita mo igo sama nga
   porsento pareha nila.

The euro according to economist Richard Douthwaite wrote on May 7 in the Irish
   Times;
"Economic growth cannot increase incomes reliably and quickly enough
to deliver the desired result. The only possible remedy is inflation. This could be
engineered by having the European Central Bank create money out of nothing
to give all the euro zone countries to spend."

The problem with inflation is that it hurts the working class because it acts like an
indirect tax. It lowers the purchasing power of the money, thus you pay more
    for everything you pay for.

   End of the World
Why does the sun go on shining,
Why does the sea rush to shore.
Don't they know, it's the end of the world,
Cause you don't love me anymore.

Why do the birds go on singing,
Why do the stars glow above.
Don't they know, it's the end of the world,
It ended when I lost your love.

I wake up in the morning and I wonder.
Why everything's the same as it was.
I can't understand, no I can't understand,
How life goes on the way it does.

Why does my heart go on beating,
Why do these eyes of mine cry.
Don't they know, it's the end of the world,
It ended when you said goodbye.

Why does my heart go on beating,
Why do these eyes of mine cry.
Don't they know, it's the end of the world,
It ended when you said goodbye.

Interesting indeed, I use smart balance butter made with olive oil
no trans fat compared to other brand, like, I can't believe it's not
butter though it says no trans fat, but read the ingredients,

Eating food with trans fat is just like chewing plastic down to your system
it will clog the arteries that will cause a heart attack in the long run.

If you can't find Gatorade and live in India, you might try some gau jal instead.
The secret ingredient? Cow pee.

The Cow Protection Department of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS),
which is the oldest and largest Hindu nationalist group, projects that bottled cow urine
could be unleashed on the world by the end of this year.

Not surprisingly, some of the concerns are getting rid of the pesky pee smell and making it tasty.
The drink will be mainly cow tinkle with a few herbs to, er, mask the taste of its primary ingredient.

Blessed is he who  has learned
             to admire, but not envy;
             to follow but not imitate;
             to praise, but not flatter;
             to lead but not manipulate.
