Good job, Bran. But my question was about the transfer of the actual site of the Blood Compact from Bool to Loay... how in the world did they miss that in the first place?!!! That's the issue I have. In fact, there are two markers now in Bohol, one in Bool and one in Loay. That is why they too have 2 celebrations of the re-enactment feast, one in Loay and the traditional Sandugo in Tagbilaran around July. Which is which? Hehehe.

Sa Bool tingali to una ang Venue, pads. Tungod wa may klaro ang organizers, it turned out to be a fiasco. The place was infested with mosquitoes; food not delicious; no snacks. So Loay salvaged the opportunity. whahahahaha.

Twenty Reasons why Pacquiao v. Cotto is Must See (Pay-per-View) TV
By Uncategorized October 27th, 2009

Manny Pacquiao v. Miguel Cotto

#1. Manny Pacquiao. The pound for pound has been dominating opponents in the ring, including his spectacular one punch knockout of Ricky Hatton earlier in the year.

#2. Miguel Cotto. A consensus top 10 fighter, Cotto is one controversy away from being undefeated and in the prime of his career.

#3. Speed. Both men possess it in abundance. Pacquiao should beat Cotto to the punch but not by much.

#4. Power. Both men possess it though neither will likely end this fight with one punch. Cotto could knock the aggression out of Pacquiao if he catches him square early in the contest.

#5. Defense. When Cotto has been hurt his back has been against the ropes; a mistake he won’t repeat. Much has been made about Pacquiao’s defensive growth under the tutelage of Freddie Roach.

#6. Heart. If either man’s has been questioned it shouldn’t have been. Cotto erased any doubts in his war against Joshua Clottey.

#7. Aggression. When Pacquiao is overly aggressive he leaves himself open to be countered. Cotto is most dangerous when coming forward.

#8. Size. Cotto is a natural welterweight who had to weaken himself to get down to 140 lbs. Pacquiao is a natural lightweight whose self-described best weight is 140 lbs.

#9. Stance. This match has the makings of a righty-lefty classic.

#10. Strategy. Roach proved masterful against De La Hoya (lead left hands) and Hatton. Roach said Hatton would be susceptible to the right hook â€" and he was.

#11. Strategy 2. Joe Santiago is the lead trainer for just the second time in Cotto’s career. Fighters fight, but the corner can be invaluable both before and during a fight.

#12. Venue. Pacquiao is a Las Vegas regular, having fought 7 of his last 10 bouts in the city that never sleeps. Cotto on the other hand is an East Coast regular and may still have nightmares from his last trip to the MGM Grand.

#13. Philippines. Manny carries the weight of his storm weary countrymen on his shoulders. A loss could be devastating to a nation in need of hope.

#14. Puerto Rico. An island with a long history of boxing greats, Cotto fights for pride and immortality.

#15. Catch weight. Will Cotto pull a Mayweather and disregard the contract he signed? Don’t bet on it. Cotto doesn’t need gimmicks and should make 145 lbs. comfortably.

#16. Training camp. What impact have the typhoons had on Pacquiao, both physically and emotionally?

#17. Distractions. Cotto doesn’t have any with camp in Florida and Uncle Evangelista in Puerto Rico.

#18. Joe Chavez. Cotto bled profusely during the Antonio Margarito fight and was cut early from a head butt with Clottey. Cut man Joe Chavez may be called upon to keep Cotto in the fight.

#19. Fan base . Pacquiao packs Las Vegas with flag waiving, ear busting, proud Filipinos. How well will Cotto’s loyal following travel west?

#20. Bob Arum. Both men are Top Rank superstars but Pacquiao is clearly the company’s gravy train. What will Arum do and say should Cotto derail his money maker?

Thanks WN. Let me make it clear I'm not questioning, as in disproving. Who am I to do that. I'm only asking questions (say, lots of questions), esp. with how they came up with the declaration or authentication. Maybe I'm reading too much NG that I'm apprehensive sometimes of how our own so-called experts come up with things knowing fully well how the "other" experts (I really have high esteem for them) in these particular fields do their homework - how mind-numbing it is - which makes you appreciate Indiana Jones type of movies. All I can say is it's a lot of work and some of them took decades, not few years, before they come up with conclusions, which often are still debatable. I'm I making sense? Mao ra god pod nay akong gamay'ng perspective or insight. Merely for discussion purposes. Or maybe just a small "query" mind, exercising analytical mind.

i am also wondering, pads chico, how could such document survive that long and end up here? is this the original document? or a copy of the original? hehehe. there's a part of me who would love to accept its veracity, but a bigger part questions it. with all the claims and discussions from NHC and few experts, one can easily be led to believe that this is all it needs to establish the facticity of it. There's standard proof of authenticity; i would recommend that that document be carbon-dated, tested and re-retested by all means available technologically (pero basin ila na ning gibuhat, wa lang ko kabalo. hehe).

however unpalatable the attendees' comments, i still commend their sense to express their disgust. to cover it up wouldn't help the organizer's amateur performance; it wouldn't stir any wave to the pride of Boholanos in Bohol and abroad. truth to tell, though, it may not have a magnitude of catastrophic proportion, but still i could feel its shockwave moving here...somewhere deep inside.

For me it is a case of being accountable of what they are organizing on behalf of Bohol being the venue. Should it not affect us being a community? I don't think so.  What if it turned out successful, would it not reflect a good image of Bohol, organizers aside? But since it went otherwise, would we just play safe and let them hunt the organizers' reputation?

it's all for one, one for all. it's making sense of a community for better or worse. this is the reason why it hurts our feelings when events of this nature end up this way. i could never recall any incident in Bohol, that's making headlines in our national papers or international, that didn't bring the entire Boholano sentiments to the fore, even though it took place in tagbilaran or one of the small towns of this province. the reference is always "sa Bohol" o "taga-Bohol".

this is what Bohol means to me.

Gadhafi tells Canadians, you're not welcome in Libya

By Terry Pedwell (CP) â€" 1 hour ago

OTTAWA â€" Canadian travellers have been told they're not welcome in Libya, in an apparent reprisal for Canada's near tongue-lashing of Moammar Gadhafi.

Gadhafi cancelled a planned stopover in Newfoundland last month after the Harper government made public its intention to scold the Libyan leader over the hero's welcome Libya gave a man convicted in the Lockerbie bombing.

Since then, Gadhafi has made clear to officials within Libya's travel documentation offices that no visas are to be granted to Canadians wanting to enter the country.

That has left some Canadians who were part of recent tourist groups travelling in the Middle East and North Africa in the lurch.

Canadian officials said on the weekend they were aware of the problem and that Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon raised the issue when he met with Libyan officials in Tripoli.

"We are aware of the difficulties experienced by a few Canadian citizens interested in visiting Libya," Cannon's press secretary Natalie Sarafian said in an email.

"Minister Cannon was in Libya (last) week where the issue was discussed. We are working towards a positive resolution of the matter."

Gadhafi drew international rebuke in August for throwing a huge welcome-home party for Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, who was released from a Scottish prison on compassionate grounds.

The national fete for a convicted terrorist outraged many, especially the relatives of the 270 victims killed in the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103.

A spokesman for Prime Minister Stephen Harper said the action "constituted an insult to all the victims who died, including Canadians."

While supporting the government's decision to rebuke Gadhafi over the celebration, Liberal consulate affairs critic Dan McTeague doubted Cannon showed the same bravado in front of Libyan officials that he used in public comments prior to Gadhafi cancelling his Newfoundland stopover.

"It appears that once again the Harper government demonstrates that its line is tough for the Canadian public but when it comes to actually managing these things internationally, not only does it get it wrong but it tends to contradict itself," said McTeague.

Not allowing Canadians into Libya may be an inconvenience for tourists who hoped to see the many attractions the north African country has to offer. But the move could also put at risk development projects, including the geological work being done by at least one Canadian company on underwater acquifers in Libya.

Calgary's Pure Technologies has employees who travel in and out of Libya who help to monitor and maintain the infrastructure of the Great Man River Project, the world's largest irrigation project.

Despite the recent problems, Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade has not posted any new warnings about travel restrictions to Libya, and there is no mention of the issue on the Libyan Embassy of Ottawa's website. Embassy officials could not be reached for comment.

bwahahahahaha...marama kang doktora ka.

Diha konoy doktor nga nag-check up sa babayeng buntis.

Doctor: Day, imong bata sa sabakan, gisip-on man. Mao nang naa kay gibati.

Babaye: Unya dok, unsa may tambal anang iyang sip-on?

Doctor: Ato lang saghiran og Vicks vaporub iyang ilong.

Babaye: Unsaon man na doc nga tua mas ilawom?

Duna higayon nga ila e backfill sand mixed with cement unya bisbisan ug tubig samtang gui pison. Siguro ing-ani ang design during preparation sa bid documents but during sa implementation wala sunda.

THE PACIFIC STORM HITS L.A. AND OH, HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED!

By Ed de la Vega, DDS
Sun, 25 Oct 2009

Los Angeles, CA:- No silly, it is not the kind of storm that brought rains, flooding and general havoc in the Philippines in the past weeks.

It is Manny ”Pacman” Pacquiao, the world’s best pound for pound boxer and a legitimate superstar.

Pacquiao touched down at LAX tonight (Saturday, LA Time) via Philippines Airlines a little after 7:00 pm. He breezed through customs and immigration and was out of the secured area in less than 30 minutes.

Needless to say, a legion of “Pacnuts” and the Pacquiao Team LA were there to meet the champ. Of course, others classified as “hangers-on” as well as pure boxing fans were there too. All together they created a chaotic welcome for the Pacman that could have easily resulted to a security nightmare.

The fans were so many that even taking photos was extremely difficult. I only got a couple of decent shots and that was not until Pacquiao was already inside the SUV.

The LA Team Pacquiao was efficient. They got their boss in the SUV rather quickly and they were gone before more people could react to his arrival.

Other noteworthy people who were on the same flight include the famed trainer at the Wildcard Gym, Freddie Roach and his conditioning guru, Alex Ariza.

Pacquiao takes a rest tomorrow (Sunday) and then on Monday, he will start his final push to hit tip top condition for his fight against Miguel Cotto on November 14th at the MGM at Las Vegas.

The number of people that met Pacquiao was something to behold. In fact, even the guy who collects parking fees as I drove off the parking structure near the Bradley Terminal asked me:- “Man, who the hell was that? He must really be important to create such a crowd.”

I told him it was Manny Pacquiao and his reply was “No s***, he is here already?”

Man, how times have really changed!

Welcome home, Manny. We wish you the best as you go through the last days of training.

Good Luck. We know you will make us proud again!

Talk of town

By Beth Celis
Philippine Daily Inquirer
First Posted 05:53:00 10/25/2009

Filed Under: Sport, Entertainment (general), Celebrities

They say she accompanies him even in the gym where he plays basketball, although basketball is not his major sport.

“In front of everybody, she has absolutely no qualms about wiping the sweat from his brow. She’s so caring,” said an eyewitness.

Having other women outside of the sportsman’s marriage and in the public eye is actually nothing new. He has been linked to other beautiful women before.

They must find him irresistible, considering his fame and fortune. And with all the accoutrements of success, ladies of all ages probably now see him as handsome. Or at the very least, almost handsome.

* * *

According to observers, what makes this particular liaison objectionable and a grist for the rumor mills is the fact that the young actress’ father seems to tolerate the liaison.

The young actress is accompanied by her actor-father practically everywhere she goes with the sports star.

But not as a chaperone, according to observers.

* * *

“How ironic. Do you know that the father often portrays Jesus Christ in biblical movies and cenakulos because of his ‘maamong’ face? He is always the first pick of the director for a role like that, would you believe?” said one show biz reporter.

Well maybe I’ve seen him in some of those flicks but didn’t recognize him because of the long hair and the moustache and beard.

Actually, this is most probably not the first time you are reading about this hot item. It has been widely circulated weeks ago, mostly in the entertainment section of the newspapers.

Even the wife of the sportsman has come across these items.

I’m told that his marriage has become shaky because of this recent liaison.

* * *

Incidentally, the young actress is said to be engaged to a man who is also in show business. According to reports, the couple has set a wedding date.

The question everyone is asking now is, will the wedding push through?
