kun tininud-on, grim baya gyod ning brothers grimm.  in the beginning, their stories were of cruel mothers.  but mothers complained and refused to pass on the stories to their children who they fear might end up regarding them as cruel mothers.  so the brothers grimm changed the cruel mothers in their stories to cruel stepmothers.  and thus it came to pass.

jesus multiplied bread (and fish) to feed the multitude in some other occasion.  (matthew 14, mark 6, luke 9 and john 6)  nowhere is it in the bible that he changed stone to bread.

michael jackson and lionel ritchie got it wrong.
#22123
Luke 4:

Jesus, as in Mark 1 and Matthew 4, travels into the desert and fasts for forty days. He is confronted by Satan, who tempts him with three things.

The first is that Satan commands him to turn stones into bread. Jesus replies "Man does not live on bread alone", quoting Moses from Deuteronomy 8:3. (wikipedia)

remember that 1985 song that was a worldwide hit?

by USA for Africa

part of the lyrics goes:

Send them your heart so they'll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stones to bread
So we all must lend a helping hand

"We Are the World" is a song and charity single originally recorded by the supergroup USA for Africa in 1985. It was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, and produced by Quincy Jones and Michael Omartian for the album We Are the World. With sales in excess of 20 million copies, it is one of the fewer than 30 all-time singles to have sold 10 million (or more) copies worldwide. (wikipedia)

Beyonce

While Beyonce's camp denies them, rumors have been flying about Beyonce's rider for her Mrs. Carter Tour. A source apparently told the Daily Star about an alleged list of demands (via HuffPo) from Queen Bey, including:

All crew members have to wear 100% cotton.
Alkaline water must be chilled to 21 degrees and served with $900 titanium straws.
Bathrooms must have new toilet seats and red toilet paper at every venue.
Hand-carved ice balls should be made after each show to cool her throat.

It's entirely possible that these demands could be made-up; the rumor mill also said that she demanded a $1 million nursery for her daughter Blue Ivy and $6,000 worth of imported cigars and alcohol for Jay-Z at the Super Bowl, but those claims turned out to be false.

Beyonce did, however, ban press photographers from the tour to keep unflattering photos at bay, and E! did confirm that, as the source alleged, she's using a huge dressing room meant to accommodate a whole sports team in addition to the newly-refurbished one intended for a solo star.

Tom Cruise

For most of us, the thought of eating alone at a restaurant sounds pretty lonely. (Cue Forgetting Sarah Marshall, when Jonah Hill asks solo diner Russell Brand, “You want, like, a magazine or something?”) But that’s exactly what Tom Cruise demanded in a seaside town in Montenegro.

The Sun reports that, while touring the Adriatic Sea in his luxury yacht recently, the 50-year-old Rock of Ages star stopped in the port of Kotor and asked the manager of the five-star Forza Mare to clear out the 10-room boutique hotel so that he could spend quality solo time with his dinner. The manager balked at the request â€" and rightly so â€" so a disgruntled Tom had a seafood spread delivered to his yacht instead.

Kris Jenner

Kris Jenner tried to play the celebrity card recently to bypass ordinary people â€" you know, us mere commoners â€" while waiting in line for an iPhone 5 at an Apple Store in Los Angeles, reports Radar Online.

First she called the store to ask for five iPhones to be set aside for an assistant to pick up. When the employees refused â€" saying that no one, no matter how famous, receives preferential treatment â€" she demanded to talk to the managers. (We can only imagine the phrase “Don’t you know who I am?” was uttered in this conversation.)

Rebuffed by the managers as well, the 57-year-old Kardashian matriarch sent her assistant on the fool’s errand anyway. Guards keeping order among the throngs of Apple devotees simply told the gofer to get in line.

Madonna... Again!

Madge's demands are so outlandish, she made our list twice! While making the rounds on her MDMA tour, the Material Girl traveled with a heavy load, reports In Touch.

According to the site, her 200-person entourage included personal chefs, 30 bodyguards, an acupuncturist, and a yoga instructor! She even toted around a personal dry cleaner and insisted her dressing room be filled to the brim with lilies and white and pink roses with perfectly trimmed six-inch stems. The singer also expected the room to be swathed in a specific fabric and outfitted with 20 international phone lines.

When Madonna retired to her hotel room, she spared no expense to make herself feel at home. An insider tells In Touch that Madge replaced all hotel furnishings with her own furniture shipped in just for the occasion!

Lady Gaga

Thanks to a lawsuit filed by Lady Gaga’s former assistant Jennifer O’Neill, the pop megastar’s backstage requests for her 2010 Monster’s Ball World Tour are out there â€" and boy are they out there.

From “a mannequin with puffy pink pubic hair” to 28 bottles of water at room temperature and 28 cold, Mother Monster’s requests (via Celebuzz) run the gamut from totally bizarre to oddly specific.

But what else can you expect from someone who looks at raw meat and sees formal wear?

According to The Smoking Gun, Katy Perry’s backstage dream suite includes “two cream-colored egg chairs, one of which should have a footstool,” as well as a refrigerator with a glass door.

The “Wide Awake” singer is also firmly anti-carnation. “ABSOLUTELY NO CARNATIONS,” her rider specifies.

Christina Aguilera

During her heyday, Christina Aguilera's contract rider was a little bizarre, but not too over-the-top â€" the singer demanded items like Flintstones vitamins, Oreo cookies, and soy cheese. Oh wait, we must have missed the part demanding a police escort to route Xtina's car through any potential traffic delays. Because, obviously, no diva should have to endure the utter agony of a red light.

These days, Christina is much more concerned with how she looks on camera. According to Perez Hilton, The Voice judge demands to watch the playback of every single scene she's in and will make the crew reshoot them if she thinks she looks fat.

Britney Spears

Britney Spears is really just a hometown gal at heart, and her diva demands reflect her Kentwood, Louisiana, upbringing. A music insider tells us that Brit Brit was all about Southern comfort food backstage at the 2007 MTV VMAs, which she washed down with a few ice-cold margaritas. Probably not the best idea before performing a choreographed routine in a midriff-baring costume and stiletto boots, but who are we to judge?

These days, Britney's rider is looking much healthier. According to Perez Hilton, she banned all junk food from her Femme Fatale Tour dressing room, and required each venue to accommodate two humidifiers and a miniature gym.

However, a source recently told Perez that calories don't count when she's in London, as she requests portions of fish and chips for dinner backstage … in addition to a photo of Princess Diana. Brit loves Brits, y'all!

Madonna

Madonna is the Queen of Pop, so it's only fitting that she would demand her very own throne while on tour. According to the Daily Mail, Madge requires a brand new toilet seat at every show, in addition to dozens of white roses and candles to protect from "negative glances and mean-spiritedness."

Perhaps even more shocking is Madonna's request to ban air conditioning in every venue to protect her vocal chords. Fans who flocked to see her Confessions World Tour in London in 2006 began fainting as temps inside the arena hit the 90-degree mark. The British health and safety council had no choice but to overrule her diva demand and flip the A/C back on.

But that's nothing compared to the backlash Madonna received after her latest incident when she mouthed off about a bouquet of flowers given to her by a fan. In case you didn't know, she absolutely loathes hydrangeas.

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez has done commercials for Fiat and sold her clothing line at Kohl’s, but don't be deceived. This former Fly Girl turned worldwide superstar is just as divalicious as the rest of them, as evidenced by her 2001 rider demanding an all-white dressing room, including white couches, white candles, and an assortment of white flowers.

According to Perez Hilton, J.Lo's demands have skyrocketed in recent years. At the 2010 American Music Awards, the former American Idol judge demanded a custom-fitted ferry â€" complete with faux leather seats, a champagne fridge, and a pair of diamond-encrusted headphones â€" to usher her from Cannes to Monaco.

But seriously, guys, she's still Jenny from the block.

Top 10 Most Outrageous Diva Demands

by Lindsay Dreyer
04 May 2013

Although Beyonce tried to put a positive spin on the word diva â€" the "female version of a hustler," according to her 2009 hit song â€" most people don't think too highly of these A-list ladies. Don't get us wrong: We're all about strong, independent women taking charge and changing the world, but the following stars have a tendency to go a bit overboard (ahem, Mariah Carey).

Here are some of showbiz's most notorious divas and their craziest divalicous demands. One thing is clear: Divas love them some white roses!

Credit: Getty Images
Mariah Carey

We wouldn't be surprised if we looked up "diva" in the dictionary and saw a picture of Mariah Carey. While the Grammy-winning singer certainly has the pipes and resume to back up the title â€" she holds the record for most no. 1 singles by a female recording artist â€" does her Billboard status justify her outrageous demands?

According to her contract rider obtained by The Smoking Gun, she's been known to demand chilled Cristal, two dozen white roses, and dark-colored couches without busy patterns for her dressing room.

Of course, that's nothing compared to her rumored 2009 demand for 20 white kittens and 100 white doves to be released while she turned on Christmas lights at Westfield London Shopping Centre. The demand could not be met due to health hazards, but Westfield was able to accommodate her request to roll out the pink carpet for her and then shower the crowd with pink and white butterfly-shaped confetti. Did she learn nothing from Glitter?

this case is one of the compelling reasons why i'm against the death penalty.  it has all the elements of what justice ought not to be-- ideological paranoia, discrimination, haste, false witnessing, all the works.  in the end, no amount of regret or rehabilitation or exoneration can bring back from the dead those who were unjustly executed.

-all her crew members wear 100 percent cotton

-new toilet seats

yeheeey, that distracting thing is now gone!  thanks, mr webmaster.

nibalik, huhuhu.  i guess it's here to stay.  we humans can be pissed off by the strangest of things.  this is one for me.  mora man nig gidudo sa atong nawong, mora tag pugson ug adto sa link by its mere size.  maagian ra ba gamay naa dayoy square sa facebook.  it's too distracting and invasive and pervasive.

i'm tempted to rest a while thus until this tb skin disease goes away.  ngano man diay unta ug pareha lang kadak-a ang size sa fonts, bahala na lang kun ang color lahi; gabansiwag ug ingon ana is a turn-off.  ug di lang unta anginon ang posts.  ay, ambot ba uroy.  i don't know the workings of internet linking.  what i know is that i will look for something if i want it bad enough and will avoid that which is forced on me.

already i hate the word facebook because of this. >:(

Luod baya intawon. Isuka na lang hinuon.

P.S. Kon Iningles ang gusto, pahibaw-a lang ko.

;D

naa koy nagpanghipi nga duda nga cut-and-paste ni... gikan sa translation sa speech ni kennedy nga gigamit ni senator tito sotto pipila na ka buwan ang nilabay. ;D

There is a formula to help remember the seven dwarfs...

2 S's - Sleepy, Sneezy
2 D's - Doc, Dopey
3 emotions - Happy, Bashful, Grumpy

The names and personalities of the dwarfs, however, were still "open to change". A meeting of November 16 resulted in another outline entitled 'Dwarfs Discover Snowwhite', which introduced the character of Dopey, who would ultimately prove to be the most successful and popular of the dwarf characterisations. The seven finalists were chosen through a process of elimination. The leader of the dwarfs, required to be pompous, self-important and bumbling, was named Doc; others were named for their distinguishing character traits. At the end of the October story meetings, however, only Doc, Grumpy, Bashful, Sleepy and Happy of the final seven were named; at this point, Sneezy and Dopey were replaced by 'Jumpy' and an unnamed seventh dwarf. On August 9, 1934...

...Walt Disney had suggested from the beginning that each of the dwarfs, whose names and personalities are not stated in the original fairy tale, could have individual personalities. The dwarfs names were chosen from a pool of about fifty potentials, including Jumpy, Deafy, Dizzey, Hickey, Wheezy, Baldy, Gabby, Nifty, Sniffy, Swift, Lazy, Puffy, Stuffy, Tubby, Shorty and Burpy. dwarves or dwarfs?

Dwarfs vs. dwarves

Dwarfs is the standard plural of the noun dwarf. Dwarves is a newer variant popularized (though not invented) by English author J.R.R. Tolkien in his fantasy fiction works, including The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The Tolkien spelling is appropriate when referring to little people in fantasy worlds. Dwarfs is better everywhere else. (There is controversy over whether dwarf is ever a polite term for real-life people, but we won’t go into that here.)

Dwarf also works as a verb meaning to cause to appear small in size. In this sense, dwarf is inflected dwarfs, not dwarves, in the third-person singular present tense.

The top choice in the UK is interesting.

A woman gets on a bus with her baby. The bus driver says, “That’s the ugliest baby that I’ve ever seen. Ugh!” The woman goes to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her, “The driver just insulted me!” The man says, “You go right up there and tell him off, go ahead, I’ll hold your monkey for you.”

The second place winner...

Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson were going camping. They pitched their tent under the stars and went to sleep. Sometime in the middle of the night Holmes woke Watson up and said, “Watson, look up at the stars, and tell me what you see.” Watson replied, “I see millions and millions of stars.” Holmes said, “And what do you deduce from that?” Watson replied, “Well, if there are millions of stars, and if even a few of those have planets, it’s quite likely there are some planets like earth out there. And if there are a few planets like earth out there, there might also be life.” And Holmes said, “Watson, you idiot, it means that somebody stole our tent.”

The winning joke was submitted by Gurpal Gosall of Manchester.

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn’t seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy whips out his phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps, “My friend is dead! What can I do?” The operator says “Calm down. I can help. First, let’s make sure he’s dead.” There is a silence, and then a shot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says “OK, now what?”

The world’s funniest joke is a term used by Richard Wiseman of the University of Hertfordshire. In 2002, Wiseman constructed an experiment named LaughLab, in which he used a website to rate jokes. The purpose of the research was to discover the joke that had the widest appeal among different cultures, demographics and countries.
