I doubt if he have that time to visit Bohol if he is sent due to company related task. Most probably he will be only in Manila. Probably interviewing high profile applicants, outsourcing.

However, I've known Jun for years and I know that he can't resist that temptation of going to Bohol even for a day. His heart belongs to Bohol

Hi Lorenzo,  I come from the industrial midlands.  To keep it on topic - that's an area hit hard by outsourcing.  Manufacturing is approaching 0 there.. first it was the textile business then more recently the business process / service sector.  I guess the people there will end up just fixing each others cars and cutting each others hair!  It's not a place like London, which is very wealthy compared with most of the rest of the Country.

Speaking of hair, you have two things in common with Mr. Benylenne. Haha, Ben and Hair. Just kidding, we are all friends here.

By the way, speaking of textile industry, I've heared that European Textile industry is booming due to the ban on Chinese textile by the US, which started in 2006 til present.

However, I wonder why we Filipinos did not grab this opportunity. In fact we have a long line of textile industry since the Acapulco Trade. Perhaps, our focus is mainly on local demands and most of our entrepreneurs do not find interest in international business trends.

These are one of the lost opportunities for us Filipinos. We are way behind the Chinese in terms of business agressivenes.

Dear Bran,

My brother will settle for good in Bohol this coming December.

He has a plan to convert our house in Tagbilaran into a 'Town House' with minimum rent. He is also planning to buy a van for tour purposes. Hope this would materialize in time, so we could accommodate your friends. This would avoid their costly stay in hotels.

I will be there too and I look forward to this grand event.
#2209
You are right Benelynne,

I believed a new set of rules must be defined. Like the Law, ignorance of that rules excuses no one.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a page somewhere in "Guidelines" that it warns everybody not to use continous dots (.) or continous punctuation marks and the explanation therein is quite clear. However, nobody paid serious attention to it until the impact.

Moreover, I suggest a separate guidelines for moderators must also be defined. Correct me if I'm wrong but I have read somewhere that using sexually explicit words would prompt the search engines to activate "safe search" filter. Here in my place "Saudi Arabia", websites with such contents or which is beyond "moderate search" will be blocked by the government and this is what I am afraid of.

Since we are promoting democracy here and freedom of speach is one of its basics, I suggest that if one must use explicit words, please insert a space in between the letters or an underscore (_) to avoid blocking.

Now, everything makes sense. Last time my wife told me to replace a broken furniture, where I did not even mind doing. It was kept un-moved for a week. 2 days back I just sort of repair it and painted it.

all of them mga walay trabaho segi lang ug dokdok.

In fairness to Hajji, Lorenzo and Bambi, these people are on the go and are having jobs. Yet they spare precious time for tubag Bohol.

Haji is a full-time employee in Riyadh, KSA. I can imagine his work load. Filipinos in Saudi are mostly problem solvers.

Lorenzo is a full-time college student and it's not easy to be a student in the US. I would challenge anyone to show me one TB Member nga college student in any university sa Bohol (what I mean is only regular students, not Masters Degree). Being in college is tough and budgeted ang time for review/research/projects.

Bambi is a working wife. If I am not mistaken, she is having 2 or 3 work shifts per day. And she always have that remaining energy for her banana at night. Amazing lady.

Congratulations Guys!

It was back in 2003 when that Langaw protest broke in Maribojoc and Cortes. We all knew the cause. Poultry and Piggery Farms owned by prominent people. OK lang unta kay they help build our economy, but their waste disposal system is substandard or nothing at all. They have not invested on drainage system and septic tanks. They want only the money.

So, kay gipahawa man ni sila sa Cortes ug Maribojoc, mi balhin na pod ni sila sa Valencia?

She was born with a golden spoon. All her life is spent on facing the camera and living in the lime-light is stressful. These kind of people are living in a world of a fairy tale.

While they mature, they seek for the truth and the real world. That's why you often see celebrities going to exotic places. Like Brad Pit and Angelina going to Thailand and Vietnam adopting kids.

Hence, there's no reason why a celebrity like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears could not come to Bohol someday. It is like a space race kay virgin pa gyud kaayo ang Bohol of Hollywood celebrities.

Moreover, I went to market to buy fish in one of Saudi markets. I have seen a goup of asian ladies. I am surprised to know that they are a bunch of Chinese Nurses employed in one of the known hospitals.

Nakasulod na diay ni sila sa Saudi? One by stander told me that they are just lowly paid at $200 to $250 a month.

I have a bad feeling about this and I am afraid. They are invading like locust. Sooner, they will invade the US and UK job market and I expect a vast migration of Filipina nurses back to the Philippines.

i agree..but not this time, remember Japan, Korea they started with that, now China look at them after luring the investors, they started too..
We need more sacrifice to achive that.

Gervistill,

I agree with you to some extent, but not at all times. Of course, no success can be achieved without sacrifice. Specially for newcomers in the market, like India, china and Vietnam, they have to put thier price at low-end just to gain customers/investors.

However, we Filipinos are seasoned in the technical / service enterprise. We have already carved our niche throught years of dominance. Our quality speaks for itself. However, what we should do is avoid the Rabbit vs. Turtle situation. Let us not be over confident.

While China and India are just new in the market, they are slowly immerging and taking the shortcut. While we are fast but going on the long & wrong direction as we have weak leaders in our government. Sooner, they will outrun us.

I salute you Gervistil for being one of the contributors in building our nation.

Rich people will always have a nasty divource because of the money.

Pero dili ang couple ang mo suffer the most, but the kids. They will experience shock and trauma to loose a love one whom they are attached since birth. They will develop abnormal behaviour when they grow up.

So, some wifey's would swallow thier pride for the sake of the kids. Sometimes, parents pretend that they still love each other even not, just to show thier kids a happy family. They live together by mutual understanding, not out of love. In my opinion, this is a great sacrifice.

Fairy, I will ask my wife about this place. Hey, do you know that my wife's place is just an Extension of Bohol. It was a former logging hub. Naa didto mga Anunciado, Anasco, Petalcorin, mga taga Maribojoc ug uban pa. Naa didto ang pag-umangkon ni Alturas.

And most coincidental part is taga didto ang tag-iya sa yuta nga gi tukoran sa Island City Mall. Back in 2003, nag sakay mi sa tag-iya sa yuta paingon sa Bohol kay para lang mo pirma as one of the heirs of that land. At that time, we have no idea what was going to be constructed at that place. Nag sigi pa to ug bulldoze.

The father of my wife was the former principal of Bayugan Elem School, sir John Taray (with the Force).

Also to our mentality..Most Filipinos prefer to lost a job than to have low salary!! It's true, we have a lot of foreign investors are relocating their BUSINESS to China or Vietnam.  Filipinos do not want to be called CHEAP LABOR!! Better to quit the job than to have low salary, that's the MILITANT labor group said!!! Hahahahahaha, how can our country progress with such mentality. KANYA-KANYA mentality. Only my opinion..

Gervistil, please allow me to comment on your statements. You are equating oranges to apples. On the contrary, prefering to loose a job than to have low salary is a good attitude and it does not necessarily equate to non-patriotism or bahala na attitude. Infact I salute these people for keeping value to our quality labor. We can not just give everything for free, otherwise we loose our value and quality. Everything has its place and value in the market, like you can not sell a Rolex Watch in sidewalks.

However, this is true to us who are working abroad as we have a wide array of choices. Unfortunately, in the Philippines, it is not. There is no much choice and every cup of rice counts for a person's survival. Termination means going back to zero, standing on that long line. This situation gives exploiters an opportunity to rule. Sadly, the labor sector in the Philippines are the most deprived by the government. Therefore, we can not blame others of becoming a militant. At least some of thier struggles are being heard. Unfortunately, instead of helping them, the government is demonizing them and branding them as communists. Should not due to their continuous struggle and protests, minimum wage policy would not have been implemented.

I am afraid that we will become like China, where sweat shops and child labors are seen in every corner. At least China has still its hang-overs from years of communists regime. Some Chinese are willing to work in factories with less than a dollar a day or even do not bother to work for free, just to be patriotic.

If we come back to the post of Asian Fairy, labors in other countries are well respected and protected by the government. Labors are the back-bone of the society. That's why their country is successful because of this government policy.

Our parents educate us with high hopes. Not just to become a cheap labor.

We are friends. I am not expecting your agreement, but these are my views.

Aha! this gives me an idea to open an office in Bohol called "Cheaters" Bohol edition. It works like in Reality TV's "Cheaters", where a team of private detectives will be sent to investigate.

However, since we do not own a TV station, the footage will be shown in YouTube. Plus an added attraction of interviews, confrontations and the most exciting part "The cat fight" will be included in the show.

It seems that it is another case of young people being neglected or discriminated by the society. It seems that there are not much programs for the youth these days. The city has even cancelled many programs to boost and develop youth confidence and involvement in the society.

It became a tradition that youth programs will surface only during Election Time. I don't know if this is just a coincidence.

These things happened because "Idle minds are the devil's playgroud".

Presently, I am working in this remote Galaxy "Saudi" a long long time ago. I worked here since the Galactic War of rebel droids "Gulf War" at a tender age of around 22 if I'm not mistaken.

Staying with me is wife Padme, sorry Johde and our three kids, Jonah, Mark and Gec-gec.

My wife hails from the un-inhabited region of space "Esperanza, Agusan Del Sur" where the last of the virgin forest is found in the Philippines. You will also find there the widest river in the philippines (as wide as Tagbilaran-Dauis Channel) home of the freshwater dolphin. My wife's parents came from Guindulman and Antiquera. Mga Taray, Alising, Simo, Granada. I spend half of my vacation there swinging from tree to tree with the ewoks "Manubo tribe".

I will slowly reveal myself from time to time.

We are full of hope, that makes us happy people.

We have many negative traits as a people, like we are gaya-gaya, we do not innovate. We tend to adopt things from other cultures rather than spreading influence. Of course there are exemptions, but I am speaking of the general scene. Another thing, we are trained in school to become workers abroad, not leaders. Our school system programs us to be slaves, not masters. I myself had become victim to this trap, where I wish to change. While many foreign investors came to the Philippines empty handed and made a fortune.

Moreover, Filipinos talk too much, but where is the action?

What we need to change first is our attitude and changing attitude does not necessarily mean changing our culture. Filipinos are brilliant people, yet on low-profile. For me it is OK as being boastful is not good. However, one must walk with head up-high and proud of being a Filipino.

There must be an intensified effort to change the attitude and mind-set of Our only hope, the "new generation" and teach them at an early age on how to vote with conscience.

This is one of my great responsibility, my great job as a parent.

If you could have any job in the world, which one would you want?

I don't need a job as I am at the retirable age. I need an enterprise.

Of course, a society can not survive if nobody is there to have a job of a fireman, policeman, teacher, lawyer, etc.

For me, if given a chance, I would be an Environmental - Cultural Lecturer or Teacher, teaching young kids the importance of preserving our natural resources and using it wisely. To show to the kids our age-old culture and practices, where one can survive, live happy and healthy without destructive technology. Further, I believe that poverty is the most distructive calamity. However, the answer is right below our noses and that is financial knowledge. Teach poor people and guide them the basic intrepreneurial knowledge instead of giving them alms. This is a sort of empowering them through knowledge. This is what I called enabling the poor instead of using or exploiting them.

If given a chance, I would do this job as a volunteer. Having a job does not necessarily equate with high salary. A job is a responsibility. A job is something you should be happy doing. A job is fulfilling your life's purpose. The security guard who was killed was the best example of "doing his job".

So I think of building an enterprise, finding brains to fit-in. The first step is to organize and financing should be the last thing we should think of. Like first, we have to build the engine, assemble the vehicle and the last thing to do is find a fuel. Building an enterprise is the best way we could alleviate poverty in our beloved Bohol.

Brainstorm anybody? Mike is with us and he is full of pretty good ideas.

Why not invite Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan or other bewildered young celebs to come to Bohol to have an away-from-civilization experience. Maybe they will spend a week somewhere in the hills of Baang or Cambigsi or a private island.

Workplace & Productivity / Re: Robots Replacing Humans
September 28, 2007, 01:03:51 AM
Actually it is a company trick practiced in America since the early 90's and still working until now.

We all know that downsizing a company means "more people will buy stocks of that company". The reason: this company is improving, this company is using technology by replacing people with robots. Therefore, this company is on the fast track of the business.

The reality is, they are doing it for show. The reason: want more investors in their stock market and when demand is more, the higher the price per share.

So, what they do is either do a company merger and fire extra people or just fire employees without a reason. Then they will invest on 1 or 2 robots which will be on publicity for a maximum of one year (just to show).

However, at the back-stage, they are not actually down-sizing. They are throwing 1 manager through the window and replacing him with 5 lowly paid indian excecutive. Or firing one executive secretary and replacing him with un-personalized service from hundreds of call center operator somewhere from Philippines or Singapore.

Moreover, companies are not just firing employees, but firing the most senior at priority. The ones who are most eligible for pension.

Human employees are loosing at the end of the game. This is the trick of corporations.

Muhandis,

Since we are distributing pfizer products for baldness, let me share some facts:

1. Minoxidil: once you start using this treatment, it will be lifetime. Otherwise, if you stop using it, all of your hair will vanish in a month time.
2. Finasterides: These are in a form of oils and pomades (direct application). However, this can only thicken your hair if it still exist and not applicable for totally bald people. Moreover, you have to be careful when choosing the product, as most are just placebos.
3. Hair Transplant: This is the only possible way to grow back hair permanently. However, it is so expensive that you will decide to remain bald. At present price, each hair strand would cost you 200 to 300 pesos.

So, why worry if you are bald. Bald is fashion these days like 80% of NBA players shave-off thier hair purposely. You will look smart by being bald, like a manager or a governor.

Aron pagaminyo-an ang bag-ong ugma.

Buot kong balikon ug dimdimon ang matam-is nga dugos

Bamb's karaan na gyud ka kaayo kay haw-an pa man imong hibalo-an.

Tagalogs & kapangpangans are very fund of tilapia here in Saudi, but the visayans will go for sea fish.

Bams, I remembered Sweet Heart, Sweet Faith, Sweet Hope ang ilang kontra M/V Cebu City, bangga poste. Going to Manila people used to go via Dona Virginia.

I was grade two at that time, but my memories are vivid. It was that time nga daghang hubog sa pantalan ug puede sila matulog sa kalsada. Tanang barko mo larga alas dose ma dungog pa ang pito nga duha ka pot-pot means "good" "bye". Among balay kilid sa coke pero dungog ang pito gikan pantalan, so wala pay noise pollution adtong panahona.

Ang plete sa tricycle tag 25 centavos pa. Ang binangkal tag 5 centavos.

Gi mingaw ka no?

I am very anxious what really new in our Airport. Since, it was renewed  never been landed there.   I've been travelling from Malaysia and Singapore from the last flights directly to Cebu Int'l. airport and continued  per amphibian boat to Tagbilaran.  This coming Dec. will have one week stop over in Manila and it is the first time to land in our new airport.  Well,  what Mari had experience about the luggage distribution  system, i hope it  is getting better as of these days.

A kuyawa gud nang Amphibian Boat, so puede kang ihatod sa inyong natad like door to door service. Puede siguro kung naay hoover boat nga puede mo agi ug kalsada.

Siguro Bams supercat imong gipasabot.

Maybe we can use plastic explosives like C4. We just need a small portion as small as a grain of rice enough to blow a head.
#2258
That is actually the process of what we called "tubig nga kahibulungan" sa bisaya or "Sadiqui" sa Arabic. Since corn is not available here, we use sugar. For the one you said "still", we used pressure cooker.

I will make one, when I come to Bohol.

Also we have a beer in Saudi which is non-alcoholic, but pinoys found a way to convert it back to alcoholic beer. Isug pa sa Red Horse ang resulta.

Corn is the main ingredients for making whisky. That was originated in Scotland called Scotch whiskey and there is also the Irish mixed with barley. Taste depends on the water source. The less calcium it contains, the smoother the taste. But there is a trick to do that. You add commercial water softeners like Calgon.

True. For flight from Manila to Tagbilaran, Fiesta (Economy) Class on Philippines Airlines allows 20 kilograms weight limit per person within Philippine travel. However, if you are traveling with groups, let's say your friend have only 15 kilograms, you can inherit the other 5 kilograms your friend is lacking of.  Make sure you are checking in together as a group.

If you come from abroad and have no business in Manila, I suggest not to have a stop-over in Manila. Instead, plan your stop-over vide Hong-kong and there are 6 daily flights from Hong-kong to Cebu.

From Cebu you take Supercat or Kokaliong to Tagbilaran. This way, you can carry as much luggage as you like without paying extra money. Because from Hong-kong to Cebu, Cathay Pacific allows 45 Kilograms per person and if you buy something in Hong-kong duty free, that won't be counted and that is free even if you buy heavy things such as TV. I've tried it many times.

Unfortunately, there are very few practicing psychiatrists in the Philippines, I guess fewer than veterinarians. It is in times of economic crisis or war that people needs psychiatrists more.

In Bohol, I could only identify one, which is Dra. Inting and probably one from the Tirol family.

A mental malady caused by depression is like a ticking time bomb. This person could perform a masacre for no reason. Only a professional psychiatrist could detect its symptoms. It makes sense because killings are more frequent when we are on economic crisis.

Thanks Bran, its nice to know the whereabouts of our old friends. It brings us happy memories.

Muhandis, you are right. I also experimented with sugar fermentation because liquor is not available. Actually we made research and we found out that it was the Arabs who first formulated that. They called it Blue Flame because if you light it up, the color is blue. That is more than 100 proof stronger than the commercial liquor. The bisayans in our area called it "Tubig nga kahibulongan". I will give you the formula soon.

Ms. Dabinsi, actually, the process is fermentation, like processing whisky. The main ingredient of whisky is corn, fermented and aged in churned oak barrels to have its brownish color.

Well, I almost forget our very own "Bisaya Magazine" with my favorite section the Visayan Poetry.

There was a seminar I have attended called "Family Business".

80% of the worlds businesses started from "Family Businesses". The bottom line of the seminar is "Keep the family image" even if somebody runs the corporation. So, it does'nt necessarily mean that one of the sons or daughters must be the successor to run the business. Hire somebody with a high caliber and colorful qualification and expand the business, as long as your name or family resemblance remains.

Some examples are Dr. Scholls, Kentucky fried chicken (the Kernel's face is still on the logo), Johnson&Johnsons, Procter&Gamble, MGM ... etc.

I have two innovative suggestions for the Loboc bridge.

1. Utilize it to hang Advertising Banners for Tourists, say "Stay at Bohol Beach Club"...etc. or Hang a Huge Painting or Mural where visual artists in Bohol could perform on the spot painting.

2. Chop it and sell at Lirios Enterprise for recycling.

I have seen a pink-beach featured in the National Geographic. It is in one of the islands of Seychelles.

However, it is the most expensive vacation destination in the world. Their strategy is they limit to only 1,000 tourists per season. To give you an idea, the economy package is GBP1,000 for five days. That is equivalent to P91,000 per person and this is not including food and air ticket. That means for a family of five, you have to spend half a million for just 5 days vacation.

We must develop an Island of Bohol to host only International Celebrities. This will add to our publicity.

In my own simple analysis, I don’t believe they are communists. They are only labeled as such.

Communistic anarchism aims to abolish private property and political government, while the so called communists in the Philippines are more on anti-west, social justice and social reforms. I don’t even see a link between our so called communists and China or other communist countries in terms of ideology. Not even a descendant of the HUKs.

I called them the neo-socialists and I don’t believe they are linked to Jose Maria Sison, the former leader of CPP who is in exile years back.

It is the presently wide gap between the haves and not haves and the unequal treatment of previous regimes that caused this social anarchy. We are actually coming back to the days of Robin Hood.

I do not label them as poor but individuals who are direct victims of oppression, injustice, and unfair practices of previous & present regime that personally affected their lives as individuals. An individual struggle that formed into a group. They are the ones who find hope through arms and revenge.

As far as I remembered, insurgency in Bohol peaked during the mid 80’s when thousands of farmers/residents were forced to evacuate due to the submerging of 3-4 barangays for the Pilar Dam project and there were no just compensations for the affected.

An average person would not dare to live in hiding, hardships and danger for a mere ideology. However, these people had chosen the last option they knew after losing faith to the one who is supposed to be protecting them, the government.

Therefore, the only way to stop insurgency is to have, a massive overhaul in our government system and the people operating them. A social revolution initiated inside the government itself.

Sorry for my simple English.

Lorenzo,

I am presently stationed in Saudi Arabia with my wife and 3 kids. Life is quite boring here, but one of the safest countries in the world. I have a brother in Long Beach California right now (John Ralph Ferniz) and he is also a batchmate of one of your uncle who studied in HSS.

Coming back to our topic, National Geographic's coverpage this month is about producing Ethanol out of corn. A greener fuel through agriculture. Your country, the USA is producing 1/4 of it's fuel requirements from corn. There was even an experiment to produce ethanol from cultured algae. Those technologies are simple and could be done in the Philippines to solve our energy problem.

First of all, my condolences to the family and friends of the victim.

As I have said in my other topics, I believe it is time for private investigators to set an office in Bohol. We have many victims or relatives of the victims who are desperately longing for justice regardless of the amount.

We don't have prosecutors in our justice system, so a criminal may be set free if the victims party is not interested to sue or is afraid to sue or financially incapable to sue in 24 hour.

Unlike the US, there are countless "prosecutors" who are like bloodhounds constantly sniffing. Even a hundred year old case shall be re-opened just for the sake of justice.

Franklin is right, we need psychologists to forecast character traits that leads to committing heinous crimes like stabbing 7 times, I mean that is overkill, extreme rage. Maybe we could incorporate anger management in our education system.

Maybe schools must have professional psychologist who could detect a possible cold blooded murderer or someone with uncontrollable rage and treat that at an early stage. Who knows that we might have thousands of Dr. Hannibal Lecter in Bohol who coldbloodedly kills for passion.

Another cause of murder in Bohol is intoxication. I am happy to be here in Saudi Arabia, a dry country (I mean no alcoholic beverages sold in stores).

Please give my warm regards to him. Just say from Macky Ferniz.
#2283
Ms. Da Binsi,

You are lucky to have a man of principles.

Still I did'nt find enough time to relay what I have read from this book, but sooner I will.

Actually I finished the whole book long back. The next chapter is "Power of Corporations".

I will give you a small insight.

1. Corporations are legal loopholes used by the rich to evade taxes.
2. Difference between a corporation and an individual.
2.1. Individuals are taxed based on thier whole income and spends on what is left.
2.2. While, corporations spends and are taxed based on what is left.
3. The rich put thier money on a corporation and not on thier personal account. Literally, they own nothing, so government can not tax them. This is a legal loophole for the rich to evade huge taxes.
4. Everything they spend is corporate expense. So, a vacation in Hawaii is a board meeting in Hawaii, a new car is standard company issue, ...etc. So, they can not be taxed for buying a new car because companies can not be taxed for thier expenses, only for thier earnings.

During the early times, tax was originally invented by the working class to punish the rich. So that the rich can share thier wealth to the masses. But the rich found innovative way to escape from taxes through corporations. Now, since the government could not find enough revenues through taxes, they have lowered the tax scheme to the working class. What happens now is that the working class suffers the most from taxes instead of the Rich. This is the power of corporations.

I will continue soon.

As I am a Tagbilaranon I would say it in my native tongue:

"MAKONG NO"

Simple rules of Business:
-First, you have to create the opportunity (marketing)
-Then, maximize sales.
-Last, build additional facilities, improve services.

What we are doing is the opposite. We are putting the furnitures before building the house.

Investing public money for projects without clear revenues is gambling. That is mis-use of public funds, as worse as corruption.

I know what you are talking about Lorenzo. I can feel your passion for this topic.

It is the Saba claim, isn't it. However, please correct me if I am mistaken.

Yes indeed, our government does nothing to claim what belongs to us Filipinos.

Even we take for granted the tiny Spratly Islands, north west of Palawan, inside our 200 Nautical Miles of territorial sea , where it is presently occupied by the Chinese for military training.

I believe in your cause Lorenzo. Nothing is impossible if a country has determination. We have the UN, we have international laws. Look at Hong-kong and Taiwan, nobody thought it would be given back to China.

Sigbin, it is human greed not poverty. They are a bunch of cowards, afraid to face life's reality. They want the short-cut method and afraid to endure hardship. They are mentally lazy.

we are  not against progress....  and if bohol is promoting as an eco-tourism destination in the philippines, then we must preserve panglao. in fact, tourists are enjoying the usual transportation going to bohol because they have lots of experiences.

why boracay has lots of tourists despite the small airport (smaller than tagbilaran )? tourists will go not of the airport but of the place and people.

when i accompanied my japanese friends for a bohol tour, they liked the roads..but when they came back to bohol after 2 years and the roads were all paved, they missed the unpaved roads...but that is another story.

Hey, this gives me a good idea.

All tourists want to experience something new. Something they have not tried before. In Thailand, India or Sri Lanka, they offer "Elephant back jungle tours". Since we don't have elephant, we can use our very own Carabao. Yes, "Carabao back eco-tours".

Moreover, this is good to our diminishing carabao population due to modern farming technology. This gives them a new purpose, to re-populate.

Another thing is "cultural tourism package", where tourist will be hosted by villagers in their own bahay kubo, instead of staying in a hotel. I have seen this on TV, a tour company in Palawan is already making this.

This proves that we don't need to change ourselves to host such category of tourists.

What we need to improve is NOT infrastructure, but the Peace and Order situation, so tourist can freely camp anywhere they go.

However, if our target category is sex tourism, then we need to have luxurious hotels and casinos like Las Vegas.

September 19, 2007, 02:25:30 AM
I have a simple poetry dedicated to our hero, the slain Security Guard. This is just direct and no abstract so everyone can catch up.

Ang inahan naga luto, sabaw kapayas, sagol kamunggay
Nag lugaw usa ka panaksan nga bugas,
Samtang naglantaw sa halayong nataran
Nag sud-ong sa iyang mga bata
Walay kamatayon nga pagmahal, walay bili ang kagutom

Bunga sa pagmahal, tulo ka mga bata
Malipayon nag dula sa lapad nga nataran
Nag dakop-dakop, tago-tago ug balay-balay
Walay kamatayon nga kalipay, walay bili ang kagutom

Nga ugma damlag, sila ma haw-as sa kalisod
Walay kamatayon nga pag-laum, walay bili ang kagutom

There is no Death, There is the Force
