Nong Virgil, tinuod ka , wa yamo consideration ning artist sa religious fervor og faith mga Christian adherents sa Pilipinas.

Dinhi sa America, when i was in college we had some artists who did their senior projects on 'de-religious' objects-- as it was titled. The individual drew pornographic images of religious individuals , as well as made a mockery of the holy infant Jesus. When members of the CNA (Collegiate Newman's Association; a catholic student's union) and of the Collegiate Interfaith Association complained of the art exhibit, the students responsible for the art/ drawings said it was "their right to express their beliefs; and their right to express their atheism".

There is freedom within, there is freedom without
Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup
There's a battle ahead, many battles are lost
But you'll never see the end of the road
While you're traveling with me

Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win

Now I'm towing my car, there's a hole in the roof
My possessions are causing me suspicion but there's no proof
In the paper today, tales of war and of waste
But you turn right over to the TV page

Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win

Now I'm walking again to the beat of a drum
And I'm counting the steps to the door of your heart
Only shadows ahead, barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and release

Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win

Well, don't let them win
Hey now, hey now
Don't let them win
Don't let them win, yeah

Valencia - Bohol / Re: Old Memories Spent In Valencia
August 08, 2011, 07:30:59 AM
When a family member asked me , " doy Bran, asa man imong favorite part of Philippines? What part did you enjoy the most sa imong vacation?"

In my mind, it was already immediate. It was not in Tagbilaran, not Cebu City, nor the clubs of Manila that attracted me. It was the small-town setting of Valencia. Waking up at dawn at the sound of the rooster's call. The smell of the food being cooked downstairs, and then the sound and sight of my Lolo. Walking around our basaks, feeling the wet soil in between my toes, taking rides around town, and visiting the Parish Church every sunday for the 6 AM mass.

Visiting the graves of my Lola and my great lolo and great lola every weekend, and lighting candles, bringing flowers. To be able to reconnect with my family. My home.

You have a very noble and poignant point, Mr. Palu Palu. From what I heard from my relatives and friends in Valencia, daghan man pood ta og talents. It would be better for us to recruit our own Valenciahnon performers sa sunod ka tuig. (who knows we might even make it to the provincial level! we'll never know unless we try!) Hehehe, maybe next time I visit Valencia either during Sinulog Celebrations, maka kita pood ko sa talents sa atong mga taga-lungsod!

In all other things, God Bless us all ! More Power ! May God bless Valencia !

Very professional ni sila, Fr. Roel. The interior is very simple, and the music and incense inside makes one feel relaxed. Yes, their foot massages are 1 hour long for 150 pesos (around $3). They also give full body thai-style massage. It is very forceful, as in they will crack your back, as well as use their knees and elbows to release tense regions.

It is different from the Filipino massage that relieves 'panahut'.

Sect leader warns of 'death' to 'those who prosecute the church'
By the CNN Wire Staff
July 30, 2011 -- Updated 0013 GMT (0813 HKT)

Polygamist leader Warren Jeffs declined to give an opening statement Thursday after firing his attorneys in his sexual assault trial.

San Angelo, Texas (CNN) -- A Texas judge warned Warren Jeffs against calling "for the jury's destruction" shortly after the polygamous sect leader said Friday during his sexual assault trial that those who prosecuted his church would face "sickness and death."

The comments that precipitated the warning to Jeffs, who has been granted the right to represent himself, occurred around midday after Judge Barbara Walther had sent the jury out of the San Angelo courtroom.

"I, the Lord God of heaven, ask the courts to cease the prosecution of my holy ways," Jeffs said. "There will be a judgment against all those who prosecute the church. ... I shall let all people know of your unjust ways. I will bring sickness and death. Let this cease."

Walther then told him that "if you call for the jury's destruction" while the jury -- who will decide if Jeffs is guilty on two counts of sexual assault on a child -- is present, "you will be removed from the courtroom."

The defendant responded by saying, "I am not threatening. I am releasing a message."

The exchange was one of several contentious ones Friday, when the one-man defense team ended his self-imposed silence by repeatedly interrupting prosecutors and launching into a diatribe on religious freedom.

Jeffs' trial stems from a 2008 raid on a ranch near Eldorado, Texas, run by his church, the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This trial addresses the two sexual assault counts, while Jeffs is expected to be tried later on a related bigamy charge.

Several people took the stand Friday, including a doctor who conducted DNA tests on one of Jeffs' alleged sexual assault victims and her baby; a Texas child protective services agent who took part in the raid; and an FBI agent who took various items from the ranch.

Representing himself, Jeffs interrupted when FBI agent Jeff Broadway began to describe what he found on a computer seized in the raid. Broadway said the computer contained lists of people living at the ranch, including their names, ages and birthdays.

THERE is a garden in her face
   Where roses and white lilies blow;
A heavenly paradise is that place,
Wherein all pleasant fruits do flow:
There cherries grow which none may buy
   Till 'Cherry-ripe' themselves do cry.

Those cherries fairly do enclose
Of orient pearl a double row,
Which when her lovely laughter shows,
   They look like rose-buds fill'd with snow;
Yet them nor peer nor prince can buy
   Till 'Cherry-ripe' themselves do cry.

Her eyes like angels watch them still;
Her brows like bended bows do stand,
Threat'ning with piercing frowns to kill
All that attempt with eye or hand
Those sacred cherries to come nigh,
   Till 'Cherry-ripe' themselves do cry.

Despite the fact that he had the been granted the Beautific vision, still, Lucifer rebelled against The Almighty.
#20100
Bible Study / Re: Why did Lucifer rebel against God?
August 04, 2011, 12:56:16 AM
Ma'am,

From reading Ezekiel as well as Isaiah, it is evident to us, bible readers, that Lucifer did have communion with Divine Providence. It is evident that Divine Providence also decorated Lucifer with all kinds of ornamentations. Ezekiel 28 reiterates,

"every precious stone adorned you:
  carnelian, chrysolite and emerald,
  topaz, onyx and jasper,
  lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl.
Your settings and mountings were made of gold;
on the day you were created they were prepared."

In addition to not only being decorated with the finest of all ornaments by Almighty Providence Himself, but it is apparent that Lucifer also communicated and had witnessed the Beautific Vision (in Christian doctrine, this is when the soul or when angelic beings have seen the Pure Image of God , and the result of such a vision is absolute love and adoration of Divine Providence). Ezekiel 28 states,

"You were on the holy mount of God;
you walked among the fiery stones."

This meant that Lucifer saw God. He communicated with his Creator Father. Yet, it boggles my mind how this angelic being, the most radiant in God's creation would be so rebellious in as much as to declare war in Heaven against his own Creator and Father. It must be that since Lucifer was blessed with the talents with a plethora of trade that he began to think that he could become like God. Or supplant God.

Ezekiel 28 reiterates in verse 16,

"Through your widespread trade
  you were filled with violence,
  and you sinned."

This is probably why Lucifer was so successful in winning the favor of 1/3rd of all the Angelic Hosts in Heaven to his side. This is the reason why he has been at war with God and the Divine Plan with Creation since his most despicable fall from Grace.

Ezekiel 28 verse 17 tells us that it was Lucifer's beauty, and pride of such beauty, that led to corruption of the Wisdom that he did have.

"17 Your heart became proud
  on account of your beauty,
and you corrupted your wisdom
  because of your splendor."
