Naka anha nako diha kuyog sa akoang mga relatives way back when I was still studying in CIT.

Yes I definitely agree with you on Tagbilaran's drainage and other environmental issues. It is indeed very discouraging. I was so discouraged that I wrote an article and one of the local weeklies posted it front-page minus my name to shield me from possible flak from the LCE.

I am just sharing BAI BENELYNE what I know which in my own mind think that people should know what I know... matay, hasta ko galibog ko adto akong nasulti da! Namao ba to? .... hehehehehehe  ;D ;D ;D

Fortunately, a golf-course is out of the question. Kalas yuta, kalas tubig, unya gamay ray Bol-anong maka trabaho in relation to area. Ang thrust is poverty-reduction, and employment generation is one strategy to reach that dream of being among the ten richest province's in the country. For now we are at # 52 among the richest (and climbing) which is way much better than being among the ten poorest a few years back as bared by UNDP study...

Naa na man gyud ni nga Airport ug dili na man ni kapugngan, so ang ato na lang discussion is how Panglao and the Boholano community could benefit from it, how to minimize the negatives and maximize the positives.

It is now too late since nobody was bold enough to stand at the battle field during the initial stages. So, the blame game will only worsen the damage.

So, I will start with some suggestions that will make this airport beneficial instead of an eyesore to Panglao and the Boholanos.

1. Panglao should create a sort of ordinance that 50% of the airport's workforce will be residents of Panglao. Workforce shall be management staff/regular employees like customs official, security, catering, airport management, etc) having birth certificates from Panglao.

2. Duty Free Market shall be established inside the terminal which shall be managed by the municipality of Panglao.

3. Fair Taxes shall be established to benefit Panglao.

4. Toll fee shall be imposed on Causeway and Dauis Bridges.

5. Modern garbage disposal and recycling facility (solid & liquid wastes) shall be incorporated in the budget. All wastes shall be disposed out of Panglao Island, perhaps a landfill somewhere in Bohol Mainland.

3. Customs office for Export/Import shall be established with Laboratory/Testing facility which include medical and quarantine.

4. Import/Export of Industrial, Chemical or Hazardous materials shall be restricted. With this, we can import/export food, garments, ornaments but not industrial products.

These are just some of the positives that I could think of right now.

Unsa man inyo ika suggest.

On #1 More than 50% basta makamao, but the tough part is, do we have Panglao folks qualified for such technical positions.

On #2. Sure! If they have people capable and qualified both technically and academically

On #3. Liquid waste, there is already an ongoing project and just last Friday the Panglao LCE was mandated to issue an order emanating from the LGU itself, so the ball is now in the hands of the LCE so siya nay dukdukunon ana. Solid waste, definitely no solid/hazardous waste in Panglao due to the clustered sanitary landfill which are in the mainland and the Province's thrust to maintain Bohol as an Ecology and Environment Friendly Province. The NGOs have been very helpfull in mainteaining this.

On #3. Sure! Pero sige paman ilang bingkil karon so we can only hope and pray nga magkasinabot na sila

On #4. There will be export zones in other areas in the province but none on industrial products. That would be insane! That's why some expats stay here in the province much longer than they do in their own home countries. Statistical data can support that, you can get it... i.e. if you have the proper security clearance of course..

The airport project is not only an airport project, the bridges linking will be rehabilitated/refurbished/enhanced so that it will not only carry people, vehicles but also energy, communications-FOCs (Fiber Optic Cables) and most importantly water. The works for the improvement of three major watersheds have already began even early last year and 3 nations are involved as well as the private sector.  Panglao will not only be a tourist destination but also become a part of the ICT highway aside from Tagbilaran, Ubay, certain parts of the interior towns which the backbone FOCs will be traversing. That's why things have already been set in motion for the Cebu-Bohol Friendship Bridge as well as the Bohol-Leyte connection (I am not referring to the submarine cables currently in place but about another bridge) mainly because of power-requirements, water, and communications and also transportation (sooner or later you can just ride your car or motorbike to Leyte, Samar and maybe even to Manila without having to board a ship).

Whoever gave the idea that torjakan sa mga married couples is boring? Boring lang na siya tngali kung  if the wife has to give in just because the husband wants it tungod kay the guy reasons out that it's the wife's obligation. For the guys out there, "copulation" is more enjoyable if our wife if we can turn their arousal meter into over-drive... wa gyuy ayo ning mo turjak sa asawa nga wala ganahi. Maypag mag tuok kas imong bitin...

Noisy? Yeah right noisy! Tell that to the marines... Tourist volume is increasing and it will become more so in the coming years. So how do you expect to cope up if you have an airport that's only capable of smaller crafts. Our house is very close to the present airport but does it bother us as well as the expats who live even much closer than ours? NOPE!!! Panglao Island is saturated and there's a problem there that's is unfortunately I can't divulge about it because it was emphasized that "it's off the record" Our fellow Bol-anons in the North also hunger for development and the benefits that tourism brings to the province thus the development of beaches in the North Eastern as well as North Western part of the province. BUT SORRY!!! Wa nay chance mong maka palit og mga properties dito kay developed napud didto and mas nindot pa didto kaysa Panglao. So kon mas motuo mo anang mga taw nga mga negative lang ang ipanulti unya diay to way hanaw sa ilang gipanulti pun-an pa gyus mga kaigsuonan nga nagpa tuo-tuong suhito unya otro pud diayng way alamag, naa pa gyuy kina raang Boholano attitude nga "WAIT and SEE", naa lagi's abroad pero taga BUK-I.D. man gihapug mentalidad.. na hala sige, way airport mahimo.. og manguli mog Bohol adto ramo sa Mactan Airport ha, pag fast craft lang mo padulong Bohol o ba kaha via Tubigon kay patyanay sa presyo didto sa pamasahi sa barko. Naa pa gani oras nga libre sakay padulong Cebu. O adto lang ba kaha mo dunggo sa Talibon City kon taga Norte mo dapit. Paminaw lang mo anang sigeg panaway og pagarpar, ampay man sad tingali ninyo noh? Well, it's one of the traits that can identify a Filipino anyway.."THE CRAB MENTALITY" Amen? Amen... pag churrr mo oist..  ga ngaag lang agi ninyo..

General Topic / Re: Contraceptive Jab For Men
May 07, 2009, 06:25:22 PM
The better, safer, most fair (towards women, though irreversible) contraceptive method for us guys is the NSV or None-Surgical-Vasectomy if we really intend to avoid unwanted impregnations and maximize our enjoyment of the sexual act (most preferably with our spouses). It just takes a couple of minutes, with little or no pain and hassle and we can even go about with our daily routines like as if nothing happened. But there are few enrollees to this method because of the macho image that so many men oh so stubbornly try to adhere to. Come to think of it, it's only in their mind that vasectomy will lessen their libido and make them big fat slobs just like what happens to castrated cats, dogs or other animals. But vasectomy is far different from castration. Because in castration, the "balls" or "bayag" ( I am using this term in place of the actual technical term so as to be easily understood) are surgically removed but with vasectomy only the connection or the "pathway" of the sperm cells are cut. So it simply means we can still ejaculate or "cum". Mosulirap gihapon atong mga mata, mag utnga atoang pag ginhawa og manginto atong tiil inig boto sa atoang "tarogo". And we don't have to let our partner go through the pain, the hassle of liagation or the irritability and even erratic behaviour caused by pills or the injectibles or adding to the polluting of our environment with our used condoms. Di bah?... Wadja think mga botakals?

ZecurB,

Naa man gud mga tiguwang muuban, basig malisdan musakay ug bangka. Di ba kulba mutabok from Leyte to Bohol by banca? Looks like an extreme adventure nga gusto naku suwayan one time. Thanks!

Kana lng dili maayo ang weather then segurado gyung rock-a-bye-baby. Pero naa rana sa mo viaje-ay. Kumpara nimo ang gasto sa Leyte-Cebu-Bohol kumpara sa Bato, Leyte-Ubay, Bohol dako ka og ma-save both on time & travel cost. If you leave Bato, Leyte let's just say by 6 or 7am, you'll be in Tagbilaran way before lunch-time. If you take the Leyte-Cebu-Bohol route more than 24 hrs is wasted, eaten up by travel time specially if slow boat imong sakyan. Hinuon sad nindot ang view kay klase-klaseng mga taw ang imong makit-an, ma-estorya labi na ang mga "lovely passengers" (both in the ladies or mens point of view), Og fast craft, well maybe 8-10 hrs. Way labot pa nang ma snatchan ka or ma-hold up sa or ba kaha ilaron sa Cebu...

General Topic / Re: The Meaning Of Your Name
April 13, 2009, 08:24:59 PM
I had long ago searched the meanings of my name/s
- "Of the forest"
- "Ever King"
- a chosen warrior of GOD (see the old testament)
Simple translation, Warrior King of the Forest chosen by God. No wonder I have such a strong personality as well as an attachment to the forest. But I'm not gonna give my real name just yet.... ;D

Pero ang dihay casualty was dili man Loboc but If my memory serves me right, sa Wahig river to siya. Dugay napud to siya, murag high school paman tingali ko adto or elementary ba kaha.

no need for the expletives siguro oi!

You are so cool, Sir.

YES, it wasn't necessary to use expletives but I just can't help it if somebody even implies that not being able to speak Pilipino(Tagalog) is not Filipino enough because as I had mentioned before, it is a form of oppression by fellow Filipinos particularly of or from Luzon who are a "minority" in terms of having a widely used and more understood Bisayan or Bisayan-based dialect/s. Are we "Mga Bis/Daks" going to tolerate the berating of our Tagalog/Tagalog speaking brethren? My thread is veering quite far from from what we are supposed to be discussing.

My point on this post is that we as "Bisdaks" were once envied by our fellow Pinoys in the North and the South of the country because of our fluency in the English language. But sad to note that because of the insistence of the usage of Pilipino as a medium of instruction and the flooding of mundane mind-numbing Tagalog soap operas, added by the sad period in the Philippine education system wherein enrolling in the course of Education was the way for "bobos" and "bobas" back then, to earn a college degree. It was also at this period in Philippine history that teachers, educators where maligned (which still happens today) for being poor educators which eventually produced also poor quality of graduates... And indeed we need to improve and once again regain our fame as fluent english speakers and communicators if we are to ride the bandwagon of ICT(information communication technology) corridor kay moangay tag sa dili, dako jud og sweldo ang mga nanarbabo sa call centers unya daghang kog nailhang mga amigo as well as acquaintances nga na haw-as sa ilang pagka ala-ot (economically-speaking) tungod kay naay miyembro sa pamilya nga naka trabahog call center.

Kadaghanan Engbis. (english bisaya).

Its because Boholanos are not so fluent in Filipino.

BULL-s***!!! Nganong ipamugos man gyud nang Tagalog unya ilaha pang ang-gaan kunog "Filipino"! Oppression man na sa atoang mga bisdak. Porque naa sa Luzon ang atoang seat of government? Og buot huna-hunaun mas dakung porsyento ang binisaya kaysa Tagalog !!! Mao bitaw nga sa Cebu binisaya o iningles ang national anthem kay mo kontra gyud mi anang Filipino nga basically Tagalog.  I can fuckin' speak and write Tagalog aka Filipino in correct grammar but don't anybody fuckin' say that we are less Pinoy because we "bisdaks" are not fluent in Fuckin' Tagalog aka Filipino... HELL NO !!!!!!

Something I got from TAGGED which I find somewhat amusing so I'll also share it...
==========================================================

We'll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes,
But the plural of ox becomes oxen, not oxes.
One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese,
Yet the plural of moose should never be meese.
You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice,
Yet the plural of house is houses, not hice.

If the plural of man is always called men,
Then shouldn't the plural of pan be called pen?
If I speak of my foot and show you my feet,
And I give you a boot, would a pair be called beet?
If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth,
Why shouldn't the plural of booth be called beeth?

Then one may be that, and three would be those,
Yet hat in the plural would never be hose,
And the plural of cat is cats, not cose.
We speak of a brother and also of brethren,
But though we say mother, we never say methren.
Then the masculine pronouns are he, his and him,
But imagine the feminine: she, shis and shim!

Let's face it - English is a crazy language.
There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger;
neither apple nor pine in pineapple.
English muffins weren't invented in England.
We take English for granted, but if we explore its paradoxes,
we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square,
and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.

And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing,
grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham?
Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend.
If you have a bunch of o! dds and ends
and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it?

If teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught?
If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?
Sometimes I think all the folks who grew up speaking English
should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane.

In what other language do people recite at a play and play at a recital?
We ship by truck but send cargo by ship.
We have noses that run and feet that smell.
We park in a driveway and drive in a parkway.
And how can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same,
while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites?

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language
in which your house can burn up as it burns
down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out,
and in which an alarm goes off by going on.

And in closing, if Father is Pop, how come Mother's not Mop?

AND IF PEOPLE FROM POLAND ARE CALLED POLES THEN PEOPLE FROM HOLLAND SHOULD BE
HOLES AND THE GERMANS, GERMS

BEEN THERE! DONE THAT! It is but a normal reaction among us humans to be afraid of what we do not know. Death is actually such a great feeling, a feeling that's hard to describe. A feeling of a kind of liberation where one feels so light, no more cares, no worries. But unfortunetely, it seems it wasn't my time because no matter how hard I tried to reach this being that was surrounded by a beautiful light I could not reach him until he turned around and gently, yet vividly said to me, "Go back, it is not yet your time...". I woke up four days later already in a private room feeling very thirsty. I guess, I miss that wonderful feeling... but unfortunately, I don't know if there's something else better for me or am I just being punished for my sinfulness by letting me live the HELL that is on EARTH...

By the way BAI Datu Dagohoy, maka-piang gyud ning ininglisan nimo... Mas lami pa og imong gi ing-ani. "Why Are People Usually Afraid of Death?" or "Why are people afraid of dying?" or "Why does the idea of death scare people?" The are other ways of composing it.

Hmmm... if memory serves me right there is something termed as "ANDROPAUSE" but its entirely different from that of menopause in women. It's claimed that it is a biological change experienced by men during mid-life, often compared to female menopause. Menopause, however, is a complete cessation of reproductive ability caused by the shutting down of the female reproductive system. Andropause is a decline in the male hormone testosterone. This drop in testosterone levels is considered to lead in some cases to loss of energy and concentration, depression, and mood swings. While andropause does not cause a man's reproductive system to stop working altogether, many will experience bouts of impotence.

Yes I agree to aduy's comment that you can be more wild or be more carefree and copulate as often as you want with a a women because "walay" sabit especially if maka chamba kag babae nga imbis mohinay, mosaka man hinunoon ag libido nga nag menopause man unta... General Topic / JAPAYUKI
March 09, 2009, 07:48:31 PM
I got this bulletin in my TAGGED account and I don't know if everybody knows the eal meaning of the word but this lass who wrote this post has clarified the true meaning of the word. So to those of us who look down to our fellow Pinoys who are JAPAYUKIs, think again...
====================================================================

Let's start with the most controversial word in the Japanese which everyone knows and frequently used.

I remember a young girl, a neighbor of mine, taking care of her nephew. She told me that she wished he is a girl because she can be a 'Japayuki' when she grow up. That they will become rich and I saw the disappointment in her eyes, then she said 'Because he is a boy, he will become a "Jeepney driver".

The word 'JAPAYUKI' for your information means 'JAPAN BOUND'. It was mistakenly interpreted by mostly Japanese as their version of 'KARAYUKI'. Which means in the ancient times, when Japan was still striving, young Japanese women who travel to other countries ... to prostitute.

So everyone who set foot on the 'Land Of The Rising Sun' should be called 'JAPAYUKI' because that is the meaning of that. Whether you are a royalty, presidents, actors and actresses, billionnaires, businessmen, tourist, contract workers, ex-pats, entertainers and mostly trainees you are now branded as 'JAPAYUKI'.

I remember how my real state agents call his/her clients Japayuki and they try to explain that I'm different from them. Sorry, the damage is already done.

That my very own American citizen cousins believed that working as 'hostess' in Japan is prostitution. I tried to explain but it became a heated argument. So, I challenged him to come to Japan and I will bring him to every Philippine club, and show me where prostitution is taking place.

The reason why I wrote this is to serve as an eye-opener to mostly Filipinos. I received a lot of letters of complement praising me that at last they found a Filipina who has a great career in Japan and not the usual dirty job as they believed without proof. It doesn't please me... I have friends working in a club, I worked in a club... to find the truth (I'm writing a book about life in Japan and I have to try different jobs of every Filipina to have an actual experience).

In my opinion, the reason why most Filipinos are becoming sarcastic about the so-called 'Japayukis' is it's more on jealousy. They built big house for their family, opened a business, bought a car, send their siblings to school, support their Filipino husbands and boyfriends. With the salary alone, they cannot do it. There were dramas, sex, lies... who cares? Any girl in different countries are doing that... why do they concentrate with 'Japayukis' alone? Hookers in America go for $20. Prostitutes in the Philippines for... as cheap as P20? What about the Thais? Indonesians? Chinese? Russians? Romanians?

In Tokyo and Yokohama, you'll see a lot of Chinese, Russians, and Romanians standing by the road and waiting for customers... but you cannot find a single Filipina there. They might have more than 1 boyfriend who give them monthly support, so what? Anywhere in the world everyone is having sex... mostly without receiving a single cent. Some do it for fun, others for their biological needs, can we blame these 'Japayukis' for using their brain?

I don't criticize anyone as long as they have a purpose in life...

Next time you heard someone mention the word 'Japayuki' I hope you'll share what you learned from me...

Really? Oh I have fond memories during my childhood of my carabao riding-days. I remember I was even at times given the privilege by our tenants to drive the carabao whenever we transport coconuts for copra. Ang ako lang mahinumduman nga important commands were "do and wat". Ang pinaka lingaw kaayo nako nga memory on carabao riding was when niagi mi og trail nga steep kaayo, sa kakiat sa akong amigo nga kuyog nakong misakay sa kabaw hing kalit bitaw og brake ag kabaw unya wala nami makgunit mao nga nangatagak ming duhang gasakay, ga balang-balang ang agi namo padulong sa ubos. Perting lisanga sa amoang tenant pero ag kaming mga kiatang dagko perting buhakhak kay nalingaw mis nahitabo namo... those were the days...

The ICT is a very powerful tool, and if anyone is curious enough or "experimentative" enough to explore all posibilities, ones knowledge (both positive and negative knowledge) can even increase a hundred-fold or more.  But the problems mentioned boils down to one thing committed parenting and proper guidance coupled with proper discipline (NO should always be NO, as YES should also be YES, not flexible wherein NO today, YES tomorrow). As  parents, we must also know what our kids are into (except for the very intimate ones of course) learn about it, and encourage what's good about. As for TV well, sad to say, there are plenty of mundane, senseless and downright mind-numbing programming around. I can remember when I was much, much younger my grandma and my uncles would watch TV with me, ask me questions and when I ask about what I see they explain it to. And even about movies, during dinner or lunch everyone joins in on the discussions epressing their views on a certain film or episode of a TV series. Backthen they had Sesame Street and "Electric Company" which had greatly helped improved my reading, on my english asnd science too. I remember also watching a science show which was an sponsored by the USAID. But again, the key is proper guidance and monitoring. But, sad to say, most parents nowadays, just switch on the TV, leave the kids and don't even bother to care or to know about what they are watching. They even allow their thier kids to watch shows during weekdays/schooldays when supposedly it's the time of week that they are to be supposedly studying or making their homework while the parents guide their kids on their studies and assignments. TV can either mold your kids minds or make "molds" (kanang agup-op bitaw) out of your kids minds...I am telling this out of experience. It's NO-NO for my kids to watch TV from Monday-Friday particularly when it's not vacation time. They can watch TV on weekends as long as all their chores are done...

They are from Australia and they are taking some footages in a cable TV travel show which will feature Bohol. I lost my copy of their formal communication somewhere under all the other paperwork. They are actually doing us a big favor by promoting the province and its people....

But actually, daghan sa atoang so called bad habits dili gyud atoa. Just look at the Spaniards, the only thing that differentiates us from them is the language. With three centuries of subservience, that's quite a long time for us not to assimilate such bad habits. Oh yeah, another one male, chauvanism.. care to react... ;D

Must be the "Siberian Winds" coming down towards the country. Yes I concur that that it has indeed been colder specially that there's disturbance in the weather but when the sun is up it's also blazing hot. I was covering the visit of the 100 Sichuan Children and it's been quite foggy specially at the man-made forest the whole stretch actually from Loboc even to Carmen. The Chocolate Hills beauty could not be fully appreciated by the visitors due to the fog. The had to contend with taking pictures of a calendar which depected its beauty. I think I saw you somewhere in ICM and you really do look good...hehehe ayawg sultii imo bana aning ahong ahong pahabol nga comment kay basig hing bunalan kog di' oras ani... ;D

Without batting an eyelash I'll let my kid rot in jail if he/she indeed committed the crime! We were brought up to take responsibilities for our actions and face their consequences no matter how dire. And I intend to continue instilling this even to my grandchildren if I am lucky to live long enough...

As of last night (09/08/2008) during a live on-air interview at radio station DYTR the deceased robber was shot by the owner of the establishment in defence or in retaliation (as the case may be). The owner happens to be a member of a Gun Club and the handgun is licensed. Good for the owner, bad for the robber. This further encourages me to buy my own firearm, have it registered, join a gun club and start hunting and shooting these lawless elements... aka vigilantism and bounty-hunting specially those in the most wanted list. It's good business, especially if you start selecting those with rewards of P150,000 up

Well, one reason they are discriminating us is because we mga bisdak excell in so many things. SOmetimes we are even described as mayabang because not are we multi-lingual in terms of our varied dialects but of us are comfortable speaking and expressing ourselves in English (I hope this is still true). Like for example while I was in Baguio (way-way back), for about 3 months I had difficulty in adjusting to the "kabayotan" sa Tagalog language (no offense intended, I am equating kabayotan with ka ek-ekan and/or kaartehan). I felt comfortable conversing with my "Luzonic" (pardon me for inventing the term for lack of a better one) classmates in English rather than in Tagalog kay unsaon man jamong gahi man lagi ning atong sinultian. And also to avoid being laughed at or be the butt of jokes so I had to smother them with our usual eloquence with the language (And BOY DO I enjoy looking at their blank faces and gaping mouths trying to comprehend what I just said to them!.

And we then even had a very staunch supporter which was Mam Calimbayan who even had to face the wrath from the higher ups. (She was temporarily suspended for supporting our manifesto). However I don't know kon unsay nahitabo adto. If I remember it right, miabot nato sa national capital pero nahanaw daw aso. I think we will again be discussing this with the batchmates para ma-revive as we prepare for our Silver Jubilee...
