5. Lemon Juice for Sinks
To snuff out the odor of a smelly sink, douse it with two cups of lemon juice. A zesty clean sink drain will make washing pots and pans slightly less of a drain.

4. Vanilla Extract for Freezers
Here's one cool odor fix to freshen up your ice box. Soak a cotton ball in vanilla extract, then swipe it around the inside of your freezer. Voila! The scent of fresh ice cream instantly replaces the reek of leftover meat.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar for Drains
Your upper GI isn't the only plumbing that apple cider vinegar works wonders on. It also blasts away yucky odors that seep up from sewers and septic systems. Pour a half cup down any drain and send unpleasant smells back where they belong.

2. Dryer Sheets for Trash Bins
Take a sheet from the laundry room’s playbook to stomp out persistent trash bin odors, a dryer sheet that is. They soak up yucky trash smells just like they do static. Toss one or two into the bin and let the fresh scents take over.

1. Green Tea for Cat Litter Boxes
Dry green tea leaves work like magic in reducing those unwelcome scents from the cat “john." Break open a few bags and sprinkle the loose leaves into the box. Fluffy will also appreciate a more sanitary scented restroom.

Plymouth Police Dog Laid To Rest

May 31, 2013

PLYMOUTH (CBS) â€" Plymouth Police gathered Friday to say goodbye to their friend and K-9 partner German Shepherd Kaiser.

On Wednesday, the Plymouth Police Working Dog Foundation announced that Kaiser was suffering from kidney failure and would be laid to rest on Friday.

“Kaiser battled this disease with vigor and toughness like I have never seen before. Although, as of late, the disease has taken the upper hand forcing him out of his craft and ultimately out of this world,” Officer Jamie Lebretton wrote on the foundation’s Facebook page.

Kaiser joined the force in 2011 after being donated to the police department by a local family. He worked primarily with Officer Lebretton.

Shortly before noon, officers gathered outside the Court Street Animal Hospital to salute Kaiser one last time.

He was laid to rest in the Angel View Pet Cemetery in Middleboro.

Afterward, Lebretton posted the following to his friend and partner on Facebook:

“RIP my boy. I could not have asked for a better partner or friend. May you rest easy and wait for me at that sacred bridge. I will be there my friend. I will be there. I will never forget you or our accomplishments. You made me a better person, a better handler, and a better cop. Till we meet again kai. I love you and will miss you daily.”

Warehouse fire in Pasay out after 2 days

By Jamie Elona
INQUIRER.net
Thursday, August 22nd, 2013

MANILA, Philippinesâ€"Firefighters put out the fire that hit a warehouse in Pasay City for almost two days, a city fire officer said Thursday.

Fire Officer 3 Luisito de Guzman said the fire at the four-story warehouse in Russel Street, Barangay (village) 76 was put out at around 7:15 a.m. roughly two days since it started around 3 p.m. last Tuesday.

The fire reached Task Force Bravo.

He said arson investigators have yet to determine the cause and origin of the fire, as well as the cost of damages it made.

“Arson investigators are still at the crime scene for post fire investigation,” de Guzman said.

Senior Police Officer 2 Bernardo Bermejo of Pasay Fire said they had a hard time putting out the fire as the stored goods were mostly rubber slippers and shoes.

Portions of the structure also collapsed, he said.

Fire trucks from nearby cities had also responded.

No one was reported hurt, De Guzman added.

the worst thing that could happen one early morning when one opens tb is to find it flooded with balong's repeated posts of threats and how great he is.  thanking mike right in breaking news?  copy-pasting those icky girls?  is this clown so depraved that he seeks cyber adulation?  this guy is but a termite gnawing at the foundations of this forum.

10. Character

In case it matters. It is a sneaky creature, goes by other strange names like virtue and righteousness and at one time, if we remember reading correctly, a certain generation used to call it "true wealth". We don't really know whether it is around in these times but if you are looking to have it, it has to come from within. Or some such thing...

Meanwhile, enjoy what you have, but as John Buchan says, "Sit easy on your comforts."

#19994
9. Love

It matters, that little empty feeling when you are sitting with a Sauvignon Blanc (for choice) on your balcony on a Saturday evening and twenty sober thoughts in your head, and no one to tell them to. That feeling of intense loneliness can neither be bought off, papered over or told to keep quiet and leave the room. Someone says, "Money can't buy love, but with all the other things it can, I'll give love a miss." Your call. You still have the Sauvignon Blanc...
#19995
8. Health

Sure healthcare costs being the way they are, you need all the money you can lay your hands on when it comes to facing the bills and pills and the doctor scaring you with a dozen different possible diseases you have never heard about. But, viewed sanely, a good efficient treatment is not that much of a substitute for a good healthy life. Isn't it better not to need healthcare in the first place?
#19996
7. Talent

Another cliched, misused, misunderstood word, like creativity, and maybe no one knows what it is anymore, but you are either born with it or not. No way you can get a bill of sale on this one. What you do with it is of course your business. History has been very frequently marked with astonishing examples of creativity outdoing... well, money and everything else. Possibly the best example is Leonardo da Vinci and a certain portrait of a woman. He took 16 years to paint it, did not bother to name it, packed it with himself wherever he travelled in Europe, refused to sell it to kings and counts. It was ultimately sold by his assistant after he died. Someone down the line decided to call it the Mona Lisa.

At the other end of the example is Vincent Van Gogh. All that talent and he sold just one painting of the nearly thousand he made, struggling with poverty all along. Didn't make a difference either way: in 1990, his Portrait of Dr Gachet went under the hammer for a current equivalent of $ 136.1 million, making it the fourth most expensive painting ever sold.

6. Respect

You can smirk at the poor ants down below on the street, but they will pull faces behind your back if you are the sort who is perpetually asking for it. Dignity is the most fragile of public possessions. And God help you if they know about the skeletons in your closet or that you were called Stinky as a kid. This is one asset you really need to work on all the time to earn...
#19998
5. Immortality

If you can make it for three decades on top of the Forbes list, that is a measure of fame. But to be truly immortal requires other things, other ways of striving. Ever wondered how some dirt-poor hardscrabble guys have instant recall value centuries afterwards? And literal immortality is yet several pages farther in human civilisation's sci-fi book. Best you can do is get a ticket on Sir Richard Branson's space taxi.

#19999
4. Peace

Here is the big one, ever since they started asking smart questions to beauty contestants. The small peace is inside your head and that is elusive enough to come by, for which you have antacids and Ketorol, which only push it away for another day. Also think world peace and other big matters. What if they nuke the city? Kidding.
#20000
3. Happiness

Alright, cliched, but it gets truer as the years pass. There is always something missing whether you are on the beach at Algarve or adding the newest antique wood furniture to your collection. If you can't get at the root of it, everything you can get is merely a narcotic.
