Hello Kaayuhan:

Okay man lang kung dli ka mosuporta. As for me bag-o lang ko sa forum, but I know about this a long time, and I was mad. For sure, you have to understand that I don't have any political link in Guindulman. I am from Cortes darling, and based in the US.

I support the global initiatives for preserving our environment, and it sad that in my own home field, there are people that destroy it.

It is just a matter of principles, what I believe and what you believe. And please don't tell us face value what that mayor did. Surely, she did something good but she also did something real bad.

Sorry, no offense, we are talking about the issue, being her a candidate for this election is just a consequence. Good luck to her...

Thank you for getting involved.

i dont think so jig,,,, look...what happened to Sen. nonoy aquino gi assassinate ??? After sa people power ming lingkod si Cory Aquino mao na unta tuy chance ma unmasked ang mastermind until nahuman nalang pod ang iyang term way nahimo si cory nga mismo iyang baba gipatay sa mga tawo ni marcos...I dont think so...Noynoy has a political will??? akong tubag ...AMBOT...Wala man gani nahimo sa iyang 9years sa congress bsag usa ka house bills mahimong balaod ug sa iyang 1 term sa senate bsag usa way nahimong senate bill nga nabalaod...think about my friend...Dili ko bilib ni noynoy..it happened lang iyang mga ginikanan sikat ug halandong nga hero sa pilipinas...do you think ma translate pud sa anank nga great leader siya...Cory is not a great leader pero si nonoy benigno aquino saludo ko ako siyang hero... ;) :) 8)

I smiled when I read this, because it reminded me of a very emotional discussion with a college buddy when Cory ran for President. I was trying to convince him to give Cory a chance to oust Marcos. We both shared the same feelings about Marcos but we cannot agree on Cory. He told me: " WHAT IF THE OPPRESSED OF TODAY WILL BE THE TYRANTS OF TOMORROW." Soon enough, he was right. Cory missed a chance to institute a meaningful reforms in our country. But, in fairness I admired her as a survivor of coup d' etat. Anyhow, that friend was elected congressman through a partylist, and maybe yes, I would say he is one of a kind that I admired for his pro-people legislations. As to the financial aspect of his leadership, I still maintain my position...on his case I am not really sure.

Leaders are created, not born... so meaning genetic make-ups got nothing to do with it.

please bear with me, glace, if i sound like a pol sci 1 teacher.  i got carried away.  this does not presume that you don’t know these things; i know you know, and chances are you even know more than i do.

my previous posts are actually mere intros to my questions for arki, who is obviously pro-aumentado and who may at least be in a position to shed some light on the following:

1.  the scuttlebutt that the esteemed outgoing governor eventually kept quiet about salcon because he was given a to-die-for amount by the company needs some truth-telling.  the money bag was reportedly brought to their residence one night.

2.  a topnotch lawyer who joined the fray, purportedly to help the plaintiffs in the case against relampagos-chatto et al, was also paid.  he was reported to have asked for the papers from the plaintiffs, and then gave these all to the other side for a certain amount.

3.  when the plaintiffs raised their case to the court of appeals after failing at the lower court level, the case was never raffled off among the justices.  it reportedly was permanently in the hands of one of these justices, who threw out the case without much of a hearing.  a lawyer brother-in-law of relampagos is a ranking officer at the court of appeals.

if all these stories were true, including rumors that both relampagos and chatto were also paid, then no one has the moral ascendancy to throw stones at each other’s glass houses.  all the campaigners in the world, tb posters most specially who seem to be everywhere in tb nowadays like some pestilence, cannot clean up the tarnished image of these political leaders even if they shred their throats and fingers to smithereens announcing how great their candidates are and how bad the opposing camps are.

but those who run for public office will always have winners and losers from among them.  fereting out the truth in all these rumors could at least let voters know who and what they are voting for, for all their worth.

...

Here we go islander...."If you live in a glass house, do not throw stones." That is always my favorite lines.

SK NATIONAL PRESIDENT JANE CENSORIA CAJES FACES RAPS AT OMBUDSMAN

THE BOHOL STANDARD
issued on April 25, 2010

Sangguniang Kabataan national president Jane Censoria Cajes is in hot water, facing graft and corruption charges before the Ombudsman Visayas.

Cajes, the daughter of Cong. Roberto Cajes and trinidad Mayor Judeth del Rosario Lao-Cajes, through her spokesperson strongly denied the accusation.

The Junior Graftwatch Unit (JGU) of Cebu accused the beleaguered SK provincial federated president of extravagant lifestyle, saying she should be the "role model" of her flock in the SK. she is also accused of lack of transparency, overpricing of SK registration fees, and purchase of luxury cars.

In its petition filed and received by the Ombudsman on April 23, 2010, JGU alleged that Jane Censoria Cajes "has been spending and cashing out thousands of pesos for Vicky Belo's Clinic every quarter of the year and buying high end items for luxury. as a role model of the youth she should live within her means."

The JGU's complaint quoted SK members as questioning "her lavish lifestyle as public servant," urging the Ombudsman to investigate Cajes "to give justice to the SK and the Youth i the country."

JGU said Cajes purchased and acquired "in just a matter of two years" two sports utility vehicles (SUV) - Nissan Patrol and Isuzu Altiera---registered "under her name". The Nissan Patrol with his father on board met a traffic accident last December 2009 along the highway of Barangay Oy, Loboc, Bohol. The Izusu Altiera is being used by Jane Cajes in Manila, the complainant said.

On the issue of SK registration fees, JGU also blamed on Cajes of negligence of duty for failure to render financial report to the SK national executive board after the holding of SK national congresses on 2008 and 2009.

Under her watch, Jane Cajes caused the imposition and collection of registration fees in the amounts of PhP 8,500  and PhP9,500 for the holding of 2008 SK national congress in waterfront Hotel in Cebu and in Subic Convention Center in 2009, respectively.

The petitioners said that the registration fees were supposedly be collected at a maximum of PhP1,200 per participant as allowed by Department of budget and Management. "It only means that there's an overpricing of the registration fees of more than 100%," said the graft-watch body.

JGU also claimed Cajes did not give "a single document" or present an accounting of P10 million financial assistance from President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo to the SK national executive board.

Earlier, Cajes said that the first tranche of P20 million, intended for the "Sama-sama Para Sa Kalikasan" environmental program, is still "intact" and the second release of P10 million was already accounted for.

The Junior Graftwatch Unit (JGU) addressed its complaint against SK national president Jane Censoria Cajes to Deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas Pelagio Apostol, thru Director for Evaluation and Investigation Carla Narvios-Tanco.

On the question on lack of transparency, the JGU seeks an update on how SK spent the P10 million that president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo released as financial assistance for the 2008 SK National Congress.

Two years had passed, but Cajes allegedly failed to submit a single document to the SK National Executive board to account for the money.

Moreover, JGU also alleged that Cajes "neglected her primary duty to render financial report" to SK National Executive Board immediately after the holding the national congress.

According to officer of JGU ,they received complaints from their colleagues that the registration fees had been the highest imposed in the history of SK national congresses.

this contradicts the Department of Budget and Management policy that sets P1,200 as the maximum registration fees for conferences nad congresses, according to JGU.

The Office of the Ombudsman organized the JGU to serve as its "mechanism for young citizens, effective participation " in campaigning for the prevention of corruption.

JGU is established in schools and communities in Cebu province, acting as junior watchdog of the government which shares the same vision "to have an integrity, efficiency and high ethical standards of public service in the country" which can be summed up as a vision to create a clean, transparent and honest government.

I know, we always presumed them innocent otherwise proven guilty. Wala man sila gikasuhan so walay problema di ba?  But, one way or the other naa gyud gihimo. Typical example, naa man allocated staff sa plantilla kada congressman pero most times ila mang pamilya ibutang tapos ghost employee lang, and many more....Naay pila akong giadmire sa ilang pro-people agenda.

Wolf, i am happy that you come across and stay in TB.
Lisod ug parehas tanan ang panglantaw, kay way mo-alkontra.
I respect your perspective that all politicians are the same, "mangurakot"
because your views sustained me to believe on the other side, on the bright side,
that there are a lot of good politicians in the country. Who serve with dignity
and honesty to our countrymen.

Simply lang man akong panan-aw ani ba? Negosyo man god ang politika, " it takes a Peso to earn a Peso." So kining mga aspirants, they invest money para modaog. I am sure they want to serve but there are always "gray" areas in the name of service. Let's face it, asa man sila i-suporta sa ilang mga tawo nga naglihog para nila. Given na di ba?

So para nako, mokuha gyud na sila sa kaban sa gobyerno aron mabawi ilang puhunan. Which to me, is not really a big deal. What is big deal to me is kung wala gyud moabot sa katwhan, diretso na lang tanan sa ilang bulsa. That is where the immorality lies.

By the way I work in Congress before I migrated in the US, mao nga credible sad akong obserbasyon.

He was 4 when he left me. I was in the US and he was in the Philippines. His loss is a very expensive exchange for my dreams. If I can turn back the time, I will never, never leave him in exchange of what I have now. Life is really short...

I was not even there on his funeral....

That really happened and it changed me a lot. My son died in 2001 and yet, I was not able to move on, until I realized that everything happens for a reason.

This is a true to life encounter with the author and a Nameless Woman. It happened today; 16th of May 2008.
=========================
I was exiting a store this morning, when a woman approached me and asked a stick of cigarette. I told her I don’t have any, besides I only smoke when I hit the rock bottom. She told me she was very hungry. I said, "If you are, why are you asking for a cigarette instead of food". She said, "It is easier for people to give cigarette than give food." I normally don’t trust stranger because of my training in crime prevention, but somehow, I thought what if she really is. I invited her to the restaurant across the street and ordered her breakfast. I watched her eat like she never eats for a long time. I asked her if she got kids, she said, she got 3 left on her friend’s house. I ordered take home for the kids as well. When she is done, she grabbed my hand, and kissed it, I was taken aback. She asked my name and said’ "Thank You." I told her, "I am one of those nameless faces you meet everyday." I saw her cried. I told her goodbye and take care and patted her shoulder. I went to my car, I turned back and she was still there looking at me, still staring at me until I am gone out of the parking lot.

While driving, I feel there is something building up in my chest, and I started crying. I came from a third world where food is scarce and I am lucky because my family has enough, but to see somebody starving here struck me. While we are the one that make or unmake our lives, I am not prejudice to judge her sufferings and the sufferings of millions like her in the world. She mirrors to me the reality of life…IT IS NEVER BEEN FAIR. All of a sudden I was embarrassed because I complained so much to God why He took away some people I love dearly, spent long hours praying asking for answers. I feel guilty because I have all the basic things I need to live, which are denied to the many. That woman is a reflection of my greed, greed to seek the happiness that I thought was denied to me. I suddenly woke up and realized that the pains I have been carrying are not necessary. And there goes the saying: "I CRIED BECAUSE I HAVE NO SHOES, UNTIL ONE DAY I FOUND A MAN WITHOUT FEET." and yet he is happy. Thanks for that nameless woman; she is just very ordinary, however, she did extra ordinary things for me.
