How To Tips / Re: AFTER ALL...
August 05, 2007, 04:33:05 AM

dili buhatan ug monumento... pero have to relate this to others, sa atong next offspring? kay aron dili nila maexperience.  But there is no such thing as ulahi na ang tanan, hanggang duna pa tay ginhawa, we have to value kon unsay moabot nato...
#1902

Really, what a shame sa mga Filipinos ( maapil nalang ta in general kay Filipino man ). But we could do something about this by preaching the right thing and let the them feel the consequences of their behavior / attitude. weather weather lang baya.... karon ila, sunod ato...
#1903

#1904

I agree with you Onicul, tremendous change took place during Marcos time. kadtong nipiyait maoy mga number 1 nga dautan, mangorakot.  Take a look sa Agrarian reform program ni former Pres. Corazon Aquino? even her Hacienda Luisita still an issue up to this time?  kong maayo siyang tawo, siya unta ang manguna to implement aron sundun siya, wala ma gani niya masolve pagkamatay sa iyang bana?
#1905

dili sad gyud nga dili mulaag ug muasenso na.... in everthing dili gyod maayo ang extremities.  what i mean, we don't have to suppress yong mga opportunity nga moabot. if is manageable, then let it happen. unya oroy ug dili ka pa muasenso hangtod moadto na sa laing kalibutan, so wala ka kalaag.... bahin bahina ang imong mga resources, prioritize with a prescribed time frame....
#1906

keep it that way, kay bati man sad kon mug-oton ta.  ako gani, ive been misunderstood nga duolon kay medyo stricto akong nawong, nihit mokatawa, pero kahibalo ko mopakatawa sa right occasion.

it's prevalent baya labina na sa mga trying hard nga pasosyal ug mga social climbers nga gipaeskwela sa mga standard or class universities nga gustong manoticed... ila lang intawon duwa duwaan ilang ginikanan, makarma baya mo kay kon kamo nasad ang mahimong parents, am sure mobalik gyod na but in different scenario.

How To Tips / Re: AFTER ALL...

Ginger,

I admire your candidness about your views on the topic.  Why I purposely posted this, is because I feel I have the social responsibility to share what are positive values.  Ngano kay magsugod man god sa atong kaugalingon ang paghubog or mold the norms of a society.  And what we lack here in the Philippines is on value orientation.

But we must learn to have acceptance of what we think that can be enhanced or improved in our ATTITUDE.   ATTITUDE IS A small THING that makes A BIG difference.

Hi Delaguna,
Cousin diay mo ni Leinfred, also Butch Butalid? they were my schoolmates in USC. So tinuod diay nga ang Alturas is the major shareholders? duna bay mga Alvarez or Butalid nga naminyo sa mga Alturas?
#1912

am sure gaan imong paminaw, gamay ra imong wrinkles, murag bata ka pa sa imong edad kay sige man diay kag katawa ( ayaw baya palabii.... hehehe ).

Bitaw kay kon seryosohon man god nimo ang problema, ikaw lang ang LKK; whereas if you just let it go after defining the probable solution rather than dwelliing on it, moabot ra man ang solution.... all questions have its answers...

August 04, 2007, 02:21:32 AM

that;s why, if the government is serious in promoting Bohol tourism as a vehicle for economic development, then budget allocation shall be given importance; and whatever requirements should be supported para ang success dili sad half-baked.

#1914

dili baya siguro mangiulawon kay nangeskwela man, maybe it has something to do with our traditional religious orientation.  gani kung dunay bikini open contest magcomplain ang cwl? so dili layhan ang atong mga beauties to join or dili tugutan sa mga parents kay aron dili maapil sa scandal or hassles....
#1915

Having a business is the best solution, pero unsaon man nimo to overcome competition if you dont have sufficient funds (does not necessarily come from personal savings) pero ang mga bangko magpahulam sila ug dako sa mga dagko nga negosyante.

Unsaon man nato pag asenso ani?

How To Tips / Re: AFTER ALL...
August 03, 2007, 02:31:59 PM

Mura man ug daghang naigo ani nga linya kay mura man mahadlok moshare ang uban?  hehehehe

#1921

what I would like to convey, this type of men could not be discriminated or belittled.  Like every one of us, may plus at minus points; nobody's perfect, ang uban lang preferred to be paliwara but am sure they have reasons for that which put an ironic facade in their personalities.

At any point, wa tay karapatan nga mo judge ug tawo.  The best thing for us is to value the very core of his being a person regardless of whoever he/she is.
#1922

in addition to what we started in BISAYA, nahimo ni siya nga mother organization sa mga regional associations like grupo sa mga Waray, Ilonggo, Leyteno, ug uban pa nga probinsiya nga kahibalo manulti ug binisaya.  And this has made tremendous contribution in the overseas community.

Matud pa sa akong uncle who is based in Zurich, Switzerland kung naa ka laing lugar wala gyud laing dali motabang nimo kundi mga Bisayans labina Bol-anon.

Dili baya tinuod ang giingon nga ija-ija aho-aho. I always assert to all my friends and acquaintances nga dili makakita ang tawo ug laing probinsiya nga makapakaon ug tawo bisag dili kaila labina ug piyesta compared sa laing mga pronvinces, dili naman gani mogasto o mocelebrate ug piyesta ang uban, pero ang Bol anon malipay gyod magpakaon, manawag man gani.
#1923

it nice to be with happy people kay ang perspectives sa kinabuhi puro positive, i've gone through with a book nga ang insights " get all the negative forces into positive, don't well on negatives " kay kong maoy imong hunahunaon unknowingly negative sad ang moabot nimo.

Tinood gyod ka happy, life is beautiful when you're happy.
#1924

hi teng,

makaya man na nimo pohon if you have to work for it. ako gani sa una puro ra pangandoy, wala gyod ko magdahum nga maadto nako.

In life it is a matter of choice not a destiny, I preferred a life nga maasenso among kapobrehon, wala ko magminyo instead help my sisters at mga relatives. Pagkahuman nila, akong gihatagan ug prize akong kaugalingon, mao nga nagsuroy suroy ko, gilingaw akong kaulingon ug usay gusto.

So, kaya natong tanan kung unsa gyod atong gusto, we have to make every opportunities and share.  As the saying goes, all what you will give, will come back to your own.
#1925

Since am not married and my mom & sis are based in the USA, am spending some of vacations outside Philippines ( kay ang atua dili man mawala ).  Besides it is cheaper to travel while am still working in Saudi kay kon naa na ka sa Pinas lisod gyod igawas ang kwarta.  So far, almost na nakong nasuroy ang Western Europe, spent a total of two months traveling from one place to another.
#1926

Sakto gyod kay kahibalo man ta sa ethics of communicating effectively, kung dunay dili bisaya, siempre atong gamiton ang lenguahe na acceptable sa tanan or majority.

May I relate what transpired dindi sa Saudi sa unang panahon.

What we did, we organized the Bisayang Igsoon Sa Sawdi Arabya or (BISAYA). I was one of the founding officers; and most of us who initiated such grouping were really the who's who in the community of overseas workers.  From then, we were successful until today in changing the scenario.
#1927

Sorry, ang gi-mean nako nga career woman sa araw yong mga gay na nakatago sa dilim nga dunay mga maayo nga careers or work, and after work parang plain housewife who knows how to handle their men  ( foods, socials, entertainment ) at kung medyo kadlawon na sobra ang knowledge sa kama sutra? hehehehe
#1928
Nindot paminawon ang imong mga gipanulti Mike. Really I can't imagine this girl who has the nerve to say that.

Though dili maayo nga iabolish ang TBTK for doing so would be detrimental to Bohol tourism, but given the right direction, this would be a good machinery for the Boholanos to continue their undying affection to the place where they came from.

It is so disgusting to note that they could not be respected despite sa claims nga duna silay mga nabuhat nga maayo kay dili man makita sa ilang mga kinaiya.  I've got an encounter with some of the questionable officers who do not have the ethics of communication, they don't even know the courtesy of acknowledging correspondence. If they're really professionals, they have to display the right manners, by then they could claim nga dapat sila katuhuan.

General Topic / Re: Education for Tourists
August 03, 2007, 12:54:10 AM

We are boasting baya as the Philippines' #1 Tourist Destination, pero kulang ta kaayo sa mga printed materials / literatures that would the tourists about our arts, culture, scenic places and the best of what we have, so when they get back to their respective countries, they will be the one to educate their peers and friends and persuade to visit our place.

What I observed in almost of the 16 countries I've been in Asia, Europe and MidEast, everywhere they're flooded with reading materials, in airports, piers, tourist agents, malls even in their pay toilets.

There are a lot of things to be done to educate Tourist that would bring value to our tourism industry.
#1931

Their orientation towards exposure has something to do with the wrong notion on cheap publicity, pero kung medyo may noble projects where Boholana beauties could be capitalized, then we could source a lot of them.

#1934

Duna pay nindut paminawon nga trying hard magtinagalog nga bisaya.

Hi Lumine,
Are you based in Brussels? gamay ra man mga Pinoy akong nakita dinha when I was there on two occasions.  I was staying at SleepWell Hostel, near the Parliament building.

unsa diay ipasabot sa pagka gwapa dili lang baya physical and benchmarking or measurement ana., the total packaging baya.... labina kung makuha ang weakness sa imo bana and at the same time dunay mga shortcomings ang asawa, like isa siyang nagger, dili makahibalo moluto, hugawan o burara pa, pero ang kalaban, career woman sa araw, plain housewife sa gabi at burlesk dancer sa madaling araw.... hahahahaha

the branding of " emotionally unstable " sa mga gays probably was a notion of yesterday when the concept of emotional intelligence was nowhere to be found... but what is happening now, people does not talk anymore about identities and sexual preferences but on competencies....

Kaila man gud mi ni Leinfred Alvarez, classmate nako sa USC who is a member of the Alvarez family that owns the Peanut Kisses.  I didn't ask this question when we met last June in Tagbilaran.

hi elizabeth,

thanks for your compliments... ang sa ako lang... every one of us has that social responsibility to initiate and embark positive values to be infectious to the other members of the community.

Am the straightforward type, whenever I feel nga sakto akong gusulti, I would fight for it.

Am sure, we could venture into mutually rewarding business relationship pohon.

Ginger,

40+ na baya ko but feeling young, could relate more sa mga manghod ug edad.  Since am single, ang lifestyle ko medyo on the go... at kung alagaan ang imo kaugalingon mas bata gyod compared sa mga contemporaries.

I don't mind being called kuya kay mas magulang man gyod ko; pero kung magkuyog ta baka malibog sila kung kinsa ang mas bata hehehehe....

Ang mga tawo dili gyod masabtan, puro reklamo pero walay gibuhat to make a stop for what they don't like!

Being sensitive to make a BIG difference in other's lives should start with our own ATTITUDE.  The change should start from each of our individualities. We as a multiplier factor for the positive values and manage change.
#1951

Nindot baya ang mga ideas ninyo.  To pool the resources is really the answer if we need to do something at a faster pace and be competitive.  Pero at this time nga nanarbaho pa ta sa laing laing lugar, it is not advisable to start a business without your presence. So the best thing, we have to save for the meantime, and for a prescribed time frame, manguli ta ug mag start na sa business....
#1952

Because when we switch the negative to positive values, it begets good things and we still have time to savor and enjoy them kaysa ulahi na ang tanan kung wala na ta. Agree???
#1953

ngalan?  obvious ba...; was born in mabini, stayed and studied high school in Anda, Bohol (pareha mi ni Mike ug alma mater) ug naa na ko nagbalay sa Tagbilaran City, studied college at the University of San Carlos and at the Formation House of the Missionary of Sacred Heart, took post graduate at USC and the defunct University of Life. am based now in AlKhobar, Saudi Arabia.  Am working as an HR Consultant with an outsourcing company though spent most of the years as a banker with Saudi American Bank ( formerly Citibank NA, Saudi Arabia ).

Ang namiss nako sa Bohol mga relatives kay wa man ko ka spent sa ila ug dugay kay bata pa man ko nawala aron manginabuhi kay pobre man mi kagikan, unya tua na sila sa USA (ako igsoon ug mama), so ang childhood nako gusto balikon; mouli gyod ko panagsa kay gilubong man ako papa sa mabini (deceased for more than 40 yrs na), mananda.

Unsa ako nabuhat o mabuhat sa Bohol? modesty aside daghan ko masulti but to make it short I was the lone endorsed nominee by the Philippine Embassy in Saudi for the Year 2006 Presidential Award For Filipino Individual Overseas, siempre gitaas nako ang bandila sa Bohol kay sige ra ba ta tawon tamayon kun duna mga joke joke joke in terms of regional affiliation.

Hala taas na man diay ni.  So pwede ko ninyong tawagon ug kuya and should you feel I could fill in the gaps for any uncertainties, I would humbly offer my services as your lending ears.

I feel nga duna koy extended family nga puro bright, intelligent thru Tubag Bohol, I hope nga madawat ko ninyo.  Looking forward for more enriching interaction.

The world is full of betrayals from ingratos o ingratas.

1.  Angel Locsin's transfer from GMA to ABS - CBN.
6.  Mga tawo nga wala makaila ug ugsay " utang kabubut-on".

ug uban pa....

Am inviting through this forum all Boholanos who were recipients of Cocofed Scholarships and all KB Federated Presidents to enlist their names and provide their contact addresses so we could initiate a movement or undertaking in line with the recent positive developments that are taking place in Bohol; and to make a difference in others' lives or to add value in prevailing endeavors.

Remittances of OFWs have adverse impact on the attitude of the beneficiaries back home towards taking initiative for employment and realization of aspirations.

Constant "spoonfeeding" is tantamount to complacency, dependency factor as they will not be motivated to look something for their own, and explore avenues on how to be self-sufficient.

This is also true to public governance.  It is correct to say that dependence on OFWs' remittances is temporary.  The government must build infrastructures that would generate income to sustain future requirements.

To reflect on recent government projects, dili ko boto sa paghatag ug kinilong bugas or noodles sa katawhan, kay inig human ug luto, tapos na, ubos dayon.

But if these funds used in buying the rice and noodles were spent in projects that would generate employment and income, then dunay silay source nga gamiton sa ilang pang adlaw adlaw nga kinahanglan.

What the government is doing, they're teaching the public to be lazy, dependent and wait for dole outs.

Bohol Directory / CAROLINIANS - BOHOL CHAPTER
July 31, 2007, 01:23:26 AM

Having been an alumnus of the University of San Carlos had added value to my quest for success and am sure that this is also true to my fellow Bol-anons who hailed from the same alma mater.

Though coming from a reputable school or university does not guarantee success but it has an edge over the rest when taken categorically.

As I haven't heard of a Carolinian ( USC Alumni Asso. ) in Bohol like in other provinces and cities abroad, am urging fellow Carolinians to start the fire in creating a venue for camaraderie and for creating a noble vision not only for our school but to the community we live in.

In recent times, a lot of men even fathers and grandpas went out in the open of being gay whenever out of sight from their families; to the point of superficiality in the facade of their homes?  Hence getting married just to prove heterosexuality has no bearing at all.

frandsen,

pareho man ta tanan nga nanimpalad, ambot duna bay nilangyaw nga nagsuroy suroy lang ug nagpahayahay.  Kay sa tinuoray, mas nindot gyod sa ato.  siempre motan-aw ta sa laing lugar kon daghan ta ug kwarta at siempre we have to give a gift or prize to ourselves sa mga efforts or achievements na naabot natin after all those trials and hardships.

So, hindi ka nag iisa.

The late President Ferdinand E. Marcos could be hailed as the greatest President the Philippine Republic has ever produced.

It is not fair to judge him for the misdeeds kay kon akoy pasultion wala siguroy presidente nga wala mangurakot, bisan asa pa sa tibuok kalibutan.  Filipinos have that culture of abhoring bad if they will be benefited, pero kon siya na maapektuhan kusog kaayo manaot.  Di ba?

Am not a loyalist, but I have to be grateful for the man who had helped me for what I am now. (thanks for having all those scholarships that brought me to college and post graduate studies, thanks for the government organizations like KB / SK that honed my leadership abilities, thanks for opening the doors for overseas employment that made Philippines as the main source of competent labor where more than 6 million Filipinos are recipients, thanks for the taste of Imelda for what is beautiful in all her touch that made the world recognize that Filipinos have that aesthetic value comparably the same with them... and we have to be grateful for the long long lists... ) Nailhan kaayo ang Pilipinas during the Marcos regime.

Stoning Marcos for what happened to the Philippines is pure hypocrisy. Who shaped the norms, di ba kita?

Change should start from ourselves.  And we have to be accountable for all our actions.  Tan-awa hangtod karon puro batikos... bisan kinsang presidente.

Nganong dili man nimo usbon ang kapalaran by getting the person learn his mistakes and offer solution thru leadership by example.

Anyway, pareho silang tanan.  And it is not fair to single out Marcos sa tanang mga negative things kay pareha nato masayop sad ta ug duna tay maayo nga side sa atong kinabuhi.

Hinuktuki ra god, perfect ka ba?

All in the news, everyone is complaining political dynasties, the old trapos, ug uban pa.  We always look for a good alternative, a new bred politician.

Kung duna tay makita nga may potential... then Tubag Bohol could help groom that man and/or shape the destiny for the next election.

We have to choose a man nga dili mopalit ug boto, who stands for his principle. Kanus-a pa man ta musugod? Kung mapildi man ang atong manok nga dunay utok, kasing-kasing ug ability to lead kay dili lagi mopalit ug boto, then let the people experience the consequences of buying 5votes, unya dili na magdaghan pang istorya.

So karon, motabang ta ug tan-aw o pangita sa tawo ( mga bag-ong nawong ) nga dunay dedication to make the lives of Boholanos at the forefront of all the initiatives.  And Tubag Bohol could be a vehicle in sowing the ideals.

If all of us will work and support for the sole purpose of making a difference in the local politics, then we will change the prevailing vicious cycle.

General Topic / Re: Education for Tourists

Dili man gani sila perfect sa grammar and spelling.

I've known a lot of good writers who came from our tribe ( doing speeches, corporate profiles, brochures and other business literatures ).

Why we must master English?

Communication isn't everything, it's the only thing.  How well you present and share ideas, speaks volumes about how well you think.  If your communication skills aren't what they should be, you risk being misunderstood...

Talk of the Town / Re: SK sa Bohol useless
July 26, 2007, 01:45:58 AM

SK is not useless.

SK is a venue for training and development, a venue for self-expression and empowerment; and a long lists of positive outlook.

SK would not be a breeding ground for graft and corruption if every youth and citizen in the community have the proper value orientation, have the initiative to inculcate / impart good deeds and most have the sense of accountability / responsibility to his own self and to the environment where they live.

For one, I am a living manifestation of the noble effort initially introduced during the Marcos regime, the Kabataang Barangay (KB) which is the present SK. ( was the pioneering mover, recipient and beneficiary being a KB Chairman then to a municipal KB Federated President then actively assuming the Provincial KB Secretary duties during Mr. German Guidaden's KB presidency ).

KB / SK had totally honed my leadership abilities, equipped the emotional intelligence side of me rather than heavily relying / excelling in academics or keeping a high IQ ( was a government scholar ).  Such had been instrumental and/or paved me to learn the ethics and gains of interpersonal relationships, going places, elevating my standard of living and above all succeed in my aspirations - making dreams a reality.

Talking on output or projects, one must consider that there are constraints confronting every movement and success in general.  These could be unavailability or scarcity of resources ( could it be financial, manpower, skills and time element ) regulatory restrictions, statutory requirements and so on.  But the world should not end there.  One must take the lead, explore and venture the unknown rather than being complacent of the spoonfeeding attitude.  Could it be big or small, the bottom line, we must make a contribution to make a difference in other's lives.

The KB / SK of yesterday had bred today dignified men and women from entrepreneurs to public officials (from town mayors to congress halls, academe), attorneys-at-law, consultants, and leaders in government and non-government entities.

Should there be corrupt men out of SK, one must be vigilang and must take part in fighting for what is righteous rather than taking tolerance which in the end others idolized them as role models.  It is through your sensitiveness to preach the good side of SK and say to the youth that this is right for them.

It is depressing to note that people only see the negative side of this grand government's program.  Why dwell pessimistic?

I have this feeling that Tubag Bohol has the gigantic mission of shaping beautiful minds for productive endeavors mutually rewarding to all.  And should only few agents of positive change exist, I would pray that these few men would multiply and be infectious to the rest.

May this message enlightens to the uncertainties of where their hearts are for SK.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Hi Mike,

Glad to learn that you're initiating this noble effort.

We missed you then in our first alumni grand homecoming of HIA in Anda, Bohol - the Ruby Jubillee celebration which was just concluded last May 2007 (your good self as one of the brilliant products being the Valedictorian of  Class 95).  To spur development for our school, we convened the 1st HIA Alumni Association that comprised more than 40 batches and whom yours truly was the elected President.

Hope we could venture into endeavors that would be mutually rewarding to all of us.

Jun Ayag
