Azul, dili na lang nato na hisgutan masakit pa atong dughan ani!  I just got a bad news from home gani that my younger cousin whom I used to take care of when she was a girl, naa daw C sa bones.  I don't know how to get in touch with her kay wala na sya ga emails karon.  Her mother doesn't have her telephone number either.  naa sya sa Japan.

The other was one of my very close bestfriend in college passed away in Jan.2006 due to breast cancer. I'm still recovering/not over about what happened to her. B, I can so relate this story!  I have this friend named Mary Ann.  We were so good friends!  She was with me in Manila the day before she was to leave for Canada for the World Youth Summit.  She wanted to go to SM to buy heavy sweater and jacket but I offered my favorite jacket so she took the offer.  I learned later that she decided to stay there in Canada and all I worried was my favorite jacket!  I got kind of mad because she couldn't return my jacket.  For a year or so, we didn't have communication.  When I got here in California, I got a surprised email from her to say hello.  I already forgot about my favorite jacket so we re-connected.  I sent her stuff to Canada then one day I learned that she was terminally ill of breast cancer.  Oh boy, I couldn't call her because I learned that she didn't want any crying and I am such a big cry baby!  It took me awhile to gather all my courage.  When she answered the phone, she said, which I can still hear up to now: "Hello, Grathie girl!  komusta na ka?"  Nah, wa na man ko ning tingog kay na choke naman ko.  Ingon dayon sya, "Nah, gi ingnan lagi ba way hilakay nah!"  I just couldn't take it jud!  She remembered that back when we were in Cagayan de Oro, I gave her as a gift to all my friends the book by St. Exupery, The Little Prince and she said she still has it. Then she said, "when I get better, I will visit you there!" Then a week later, I got a box in the mail.  It was my favorite jacket plus some Canadian-made Chocolates. 

I sent her a box of California goodies like the See's candies and a DVD of The Little Prince.  I called her in her landline but there was no answer then I got a text message from her saying that she heard the phone ringing but it was a labor to get the phone.  She also said that she got the box and that she will eat the candies when she gets better because at that time she was so weak due to another chemo session which she said she wasn't taking anymore.  I was crying like crazy.

She was already married but she wished to be married by a priest.  Less than a week after she sent me that text messages, they got married in her hospital bed.  Our friend who was able to attend the wedding sent us the pictures.  She was so lovely and so peaceful in her wedding dress lying in bed.  Then in the morning, I got a text message from her.  I was so happy to see it was coming from Mary Ann but it was her husband who sent the text message.  He said, I am sorry to text u this.  MeAnn just passed away...

When I saw in the subject line the word exotic, something happend to me before came to my mind instantly.  It may be OT so sorry gurls! 

Way back when I was still working in Cagayan de oro, I was all lanky and dark-skinned (it didn't bother me at all but karon na puti-puti gamay kay na inat na sa katambok), lots of pimple scars and all!  Then came a German national who wanted to access the bank at that time to become the Senior President.  It was rumored that that guy was infatuated by my beauty (or the lack of it?!?).  My lady boss, upon hearing this rumor, kind of mocked it.  I can still remember she was in her office with another lady bank officer.  She told me in a very tactless way, which she was known of, "Eto talagang mga foreigners, mahilig sa pangit!"  The other lady officer said, "Grabeh ka naman makasalita!"  Then my lady boss corrected herself, she said, "what I meant was, mahilig sila sa mga EXOTIC ba!".  Well, well, well, to be honest, it really didn't hurt me a bit.  I was settled already with my beauty that I didn't care what they say!

I have  good friends in Manila.  They are husband and wife but my bestfriend was the wife thus I call her bespren.  Her husband was also super nice guy! They took care of me when I was supposedly alone in Manila.  During weekends, they picked me up from the condo where I was staying in Ortigas (they live in Makati).  We go bowling, cook, eat, laugh, watch movie, and eat some more.  They won't let me stay in their guest room.  They would give me their master bedroom while they stay in the floor with their baby dog.  I had no doubt they loved me so much!  We continue our communication until one birthday of my bespren that she did not take my call.  I called many time to no avail.  I heard from the husband that at that time they were having marital problems.  They are ok now but still she did not call me back.  She is like that sometimes but I know in my hearts of heart that she still considers me as a bespren.  Someday we will be fine again.  No matter what, she'll always be a good friend to me, a friend for life.

Lastnight, naa mi gi sundo na friend ni Alyssa na anak pod ug Pinay.  We passed by the Old Sacramento and in one of the top buildings there, dihay display ug fireworks!  Very beautiful jud!  But I heard the main attraction was at the NY countdown kay diha may party didto sa Old Sacramento.  For me, it was more fun being at home with family instead of being in the middle of a huge traffic to get in  and out of there!

Korek, Cel, ugma na jud magsugod!  Karon, matulog sa ko kay gi mild hika lang gihapon so wa ko ka tarong tulog ganinang kadlawon after having champagne.  I got na the Loratadin that Dr. Blue recommended.

Wow, I love Enya music!  I can't remember the titles but I used to collect her CDs back in the Phils.  Karon, I only have one CD pa intawon:  The Memory of Trees!  Wonderful cd!

At 10:30 a.m., I went for a walk.  I was just wearing regular jogging attire and boy, was it awefully cold!  I was so lazy to get back the house and get heavier attire so I kept walking.  After 15 minutes of walking, I felt like my face was numb already!  I still continue and on my way home, I was starting to sweat a little bit na.  That was my warm up for the Fecha Dos Project!
