About slow connection in Bohol, I don't know if it is illegal to use a satellite dish to connect to the internet. We are using it here in Saudi Arabia for our remote warehouses. What we did is connect our server to the digital satellite receiver and a dish and hook on an internet provider in London. It is much faster than DSL.

I am not sure if that satellite carrying that signal can be intercepted in the Philippines. As I knew, most of our dishes are huge because we are far from the satellite path. But here in KSA, a 1 meter or less dish will do. Let me ask our IT dept. how they did it. It may solve the slow connection in Bohol, but I am not sure if it is legal.

This is not the first one.

In 1996 when I had subsciption of Discovery Channel, there was a feature documentary of girls conjoined in one body. They are active and athletic.

They are Abigail "Abby" Loraine Hensel and Brittany "Britty" Lee Hensel (born 7 March 1990, Carver County, Minnesota, United States)

Here is their video:

Milk (according to your taste)
Brandy (add as you like)
Sugar (1/2 teaspoon or as desired)

or this:
Your regular brewed coffee
Add brandy as desired amount

'The Grid' Could Soon Make the Internet Obsolete
FOXNEWS Monday, April 07, 2008

The Internet could soon be made obsolete. The scientists who pioneered it have now built a lightning-fast replacement capable of downloading entire feature films within seconds.

At speeds about 10,000 times faster than a typical broadband connection, “the grid” will be able to send the entire Rolling Stones back catalogue from Britain to Japan in less than two seconds.

The latest spin-off from Cern, the particle physics centre that created the web, the grid could also provide the kind of power needed to transmit holographic images; allow instant online gaming with hundreds of thousands of players; and offer high-definition video telephony for the price of a local call.

David Britton, professor of physics at Glasgow University and a leading figure in the grid project, believes grid technologies could “revolutionise” society. “With this kind of computing power, future generations will have the ability to collaborate and communicate in ways older people like me cannot even imagine,” he said.

The power of the grid will become apparent this summer after what scientists at Cern have termed their “red button” day - the switching-on of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the new particle accelerator built to probe the origin of the universe. The grid will be activated at the same time to capture the data it generates.

It is also a lesson to all of us to never accuse anyone of stealing or a thief if there is no proof. Some people can not take such insult specially if they knew it is not true and they will take any opportunity to kill. Each of us has his/her own level of tolerance and it is a secret only the individual knows.

It is better not to judge or label anyone, unless there is a proof.

Our biggest threat is China. Since, they are turning farmlands into industrial zones, ultimately, they will rely rice from foreign sources like the Philippines. Of course our business sector would favor selling thier rice to China who will offer higher price. So, it leaves our locals with no rice to buy.

There should be an organization for Rice Exporting countries to address this matter, regulate and establish world price and protect their interests. Like OPEC for oil exporting countries.

We just don't have the land to produce enough rice for the mouths in our country. What the Philippines needs to do is secure lands that are rich in fertile soil and are ours historically.

You know what I'm talking about.

Sabah. It must be reclaimed. The natural resources and flat plains in that territory would spur immigration as well as reduce the burden of over population. Philippines needs breathing space.

You did the right thinking Lorenzo.

In terms of resources and wealth, Sabah represents 20%. Re-acquiring Sabah means our economy will grow effortlessly by 20%. The greatest growth we could achieve in 30 years of economic history.

It is time to tell our government heads "don't be a chicken" go to the UN and claim what is ours, we are not paying you just to sit and drink coffee.

Regarding rice shortage: Law of supply and demand has been proven. He who controls the rice, will surely get millions. Like the ancient Srivijayan saying "He who controls the spice, controls the universe".

I'd like to finish my residency in a small town where I can help out the most. Ang plano nako is to join Doctor's Without Borders and go abroad to provide medical care for under-priviledged communities in Asia-Africa-Latin America for a year or two.

:)

For Tubag Bohol,

I see this website developing into a multi-faceted forum that not only will be linked to health sites, but for educational sites. I can see TB financing a TB scholarship fund for college students, high school students, elementary student. To help is a wonderous miracle, me-thinks.

Tubag Bohol to me, is like a civilian-corp of big hearts. Big hearts with change in their minds.

To God Be All Glory and Praise,
And EACH and EVERY single one of us his instruments.

Very noble Lorenzo. I am a fan of MÉDECINS SANS FRONTIÈRES (MSF) or doctors with no borders. When I was younger, I thought of signing in as support staff.

Five years from now, my vision of Tubag Bohol:

-that this will be regarded as the most respected and credible  forum ever in the Philippine history, reaching out all the Boholanos in every corner of the globe.

-that Tubag Bohol will become a corporation that would allow us to generate profit or contributions so we can embark on projects for the betterment of our dear Bohol  and to be able to give free services to our less fortunate people in Bohol i.e., Tubag Bohol Hospital or Tubag Bohol Orphanage.

-that Tubag Bohol will be where Google or Yahoo was when they were 10 years old in the industry! ;D

Amen to Grazie’s Vision.

Moreover, I visualized Tubag Bohol to be a virtual Province of Bohol (perhaps a virtual republic), with its own constitution, economy, industry, bank, general reserve fund, own Governor, Mayor of each virtual town, own police & justice system…etc. A cool virtual universe where love of God, friendship, happiness, peace and prosperity reigns.

Any violators of its constitution shall walk on the plank.

“America is where the devil reigns”

This is not new to the US society. I heard of many like this who kills their own children and then killed themselves. Previously, it was the wrestling superstar Chris Benoit who murdered his son and wife and killed himself last June 2007.

Such news is “horror” to me and this is only happening in the US.

US and Philippines are bounded by contrasting sets of morals.

In the Philippines, we kill to protect our children or family. You may hear the news that one father killed a man because his daughter is raped or harmed. You may hear the news that one father robbed and killed out of poverty, to feed his family.

But killing your own siblings is not the way of the Filipino.

I am now obsessed about “Ilijan Hill” and its mysteries.

So I made a research and found that there are three Ilijan hills in the Philippines. If you look back in my previous post in this thread, you may find the locations which is one near Luzon, one in Visayas and one in Mindanao. These three points formed a triangle which I called “Ilijan Triangle”. Inside this triangle, you will find Cebu Straight, Bohol, Mindoro Islands and some parts of Mindanao sea. Considering significant events, these places are the target of last year’s oil exploration. However, several rumors came out that the exploration is actually treasure hunting. I don’t know the truth, but I am just gathering information here and it is too premature to conclude.

Related topics:
During my research, I found interesting topics related to the name Ilijan, which means “Fortress” in Higaunon and where “Iligan” was derived. Upon further investigation, I found that the people of Iligan are migrants from the Kingdom of Panglao as below historical record. Hope you don’t get bored reading.

History of Ilijan or Iligan
Iligan has its beginnings in the village of Bayug, 2.5 kilometers north of the present Poblacion. It was the earliest pre-Spanish settlement of native sea dwellers, known as Maragats. The monotony of indigenous life in the territory was broken when in the later part of the 16th century, the inhabitants of Iligan were subdued by the Visayan migrants from the island kingdom of Panglao.

In the accounts of Jesuit historian Fr. Francisco Combes, the Mollucan King of Ternate invaded Panglao. This caused Panglaons to flee in large numbers to Dapitan, Zamboanga del Norte. In Dapitan, the surviving Prince of Panglao, Pagbuaya, received Legazpi's expedition in 1565. Later, Pagbuaya's son Manook was baptized Pedro Manuel Manook. The Christianized Manook subdued the Higaunon village in Bayug and established it as one of the earliest Christian settlements in the country. The settlement survived other raids from other enemies, and, because of their faith in God and in their patron saint, Saint Michael the Archangel, the early Iliganons moved their settlement from Bayug to Iligan.

The name Iligan is from the Higaunon word "iligan" or "ilijan," meaning "fortress of defense" against frequent attacks by pirates and other hostile Mindanao tribes.

I run a search of "Ilijan Hill" and guess what I have found:

There are more than one Ilijan Hill in the Philippines. There are three (3) as follows:

1. Ilijan Hill: Found in Tubigon with Coordinates 9°55'14"N   123°56'51"E

2. Ilijan Hill: Found in Misamis Occidental (Mindanao) with coordinates 8°37'0"N   123°35'60"E

3. Ilijan Hill: Found in Masbate with coordintes Latitude 12.2333333  Longtitude 123.2833333

How about Ily Hill in Ubujan? It sounds like Ilijan Hill.

So which one is the original one?

This sounds fishy because three points represents triangulation coordinates, where somewhere is hidden inside this triangle. Perhaps a treasure.

There must be an explanation behind this coincidence. It sounds like a conspiracy where the culprit behind this naming does it to deceive/confuse or is hiding some treasure. Maybe Princes Analiza is the custodian of the treasure.

    * Black or American Indian. For reasons that aren't well understood, race appears to play a role in SIDS. Cultural differences in child care practices â€" such as whether babies are placed to sleep on their backs â€" may be a factor.

Lorenzo,

I remembered that there is a connection and a great significance as to why Blacks & American Indians are more prone to SIDS. I suddenly remembered one of my research in the ancient artform of "Head Shaping" only performed by Blacks in Africa and American Indians and some part in Asia.

This artform is done by applying a flat object at the forehead during infant stage where the skull is still soft.

I feel there is a great connection. http://www.springerlink.com/content/bkx5jv2qmdhna7mn/

Actually, I don't like her gaya-gaya style, obviously no originality and un-natural. She is nothing compared to our local talents. Her only advantage is she is an American, raised in America. She stayed on top, not because she is good, but the show is purely a popularity contest. Being the only Asian in the competition is her best advantage.

During the time of Jasmine Trias and Camile Velasco, there were two of them so their votes were divided. Dispite of that, Jasmine won the third.

It looks that Ramiele Malubay could win the second or third place, not because she is good but she is popular to Asian-American audience.

Believe me, it we conduct a singing competition here in Tubag Bohol with our local talents, there will be better singers than in American Idol.

My bet to win the competition is no doubt, David Archuleta.

Dear Ligaiah,

I am not a doctor, but I know that our bodies are designed to heal itself. So, what I could help is encourage you to use that healing power within to take charge.

Ailment develops when your will power is weak, like when you are worried or depressed. Remember that the devil is always out there and looking for a single chance to suggest negative thoughts that leads to chaos and destruction. Even the best medicine can not heal a person who feels/thinks defeated.

Life is not enough to explore and enjoy the beautiful world that God has provided. You have brilliant ambitions for your parents, friends, your country, future husband, future kids…etc. you still have lots of things to do. I mean you got to be immortal.

You have been working hard and indirectly you have contributed to helping our ailing economy, alleviating poverty, did a noble job and you are indisputably a hero. However, sometimes you have to reward yourself and give priority to health (invest for your health). Take time to exercise, feel the sun, breathe fresh air, take vitamins, eat the right foods, good sleep and engage in hobbies that you enjoy the most.

I hope for your recovery in Jesus name.

Just browsing at Youtube and found this beautiful videos of Southern Leyte and there are more links about Leyte inside (whale shark diving...etc.). They have also a beach similar to Cainggit Beach.

My late uncle Teodoro Ferniz (my father's brother) was one of the few Boy Scouts who helped Mc Arthur land in Leyte. It was during a dark night when Mc Arthur fulfilled his promise as per his famous words "I Shall Return". He could not locate the safe shore for landing. My uncle's troop recieved a morse code message from Mc Arthurs ship that night, so they built a big bon fire at the beach that helped Mc Arthur's ship locate the safe shore for landing. Without the 14 of them and thier initiative, Mc Arthur's promise would have been in vain.

However, when my uncle died last 2005, he had a solemn funeral exclusive only to those who knew his greatness.

Maybe the creature is a chubacabra?

I love horror movies and I saw one similar to that Blairwitch Project, which is the Pumpkinhead. I believed these movies inspired the legendary Night Shyamalan where you may find similarities.

@MAcky I am more interested in restoration of recently extinct species. <-- me too! I like mammoths.. We have a chance cause they found a whole frozen female baby mammoth.:)

Hi Kiamoy,

Glad that you too are interested in restoration of extinct species. When I was in college, I have trailed an expedition led by a Japanese researcher (I already forgot his name) to find frozen Mamoths in Siberia. They found a lot of intact mamoths, perfectly preserved in ice. They thought of cloning it or inciminating its sperm in modern elephants.

The story died out and I have not heared since.

Regarding the Sigbin, perhaps we can do investigation, interviews and someday we can put together the pieces of this puzzle.

Further Lorenz, I have a feeling that there is a significant connection between Bohol's Sigbin and the Thylacine being a marsupial. I love to do study and discuss about this topic. I have previously investigated the shape of sigbin and what puzzled me is that witnesses told that sigbin is eats chicken and livestock while a kangaroo is vegetarian. Based on this we can conclude that sigbin is not a kanggaroo as claimed. It must be a relative of the Thylacine.

Thanks Lorenz.

It is quite premature for me to devulge what I've learned, but I can share with you some highlights. There are people who loved to spread hoaxes and we do not know actually what to believe.

The topic I am trailing now is about the Thylacine an extinct wolflike marsupial of southeast asia. The last living Thylacine was last seen in London Zoo during the 1920's. They are haunted to extinction by the british settlers due to their fur. Their natural habitat literally destroyed and overpowered by the dinggo dogs bought by the british.

Now, there are rumors of Thylacine sighting in deep jungle of tanzania and some in Malaysia. But scientist have not proven its re-existence.

There were even attempts to resurect the Thylacine by genetic means and cloning through relative species.

I am more interested in restoration of recently extinct species. This is more realistic than a hoax.

Mr. Bean,

Akong ig-agaw si Rudel Ferniz graduate to ug BSAT hasta iyang manghod. Karon naa na sa DENR.
