yes.  help him.  his is a vocation, a constant, while your passion may wane with tomorrow's moon.

it is a very holy calling, and a divine vocation. many men are called to the priesthood, but only a select few are able to answer it.
i myself, was one who applied to the seminary and was undergoing spiritual encouragement by my parish priest (who is also my friend) at the time. however, with the weakness of my body and knowing myself, i hesitated in finishing all the additional application material to the seminary. i was not qualified , from knowing myself and my own propensity to sin. many of my good friends are now in their major seminary years, one of them, a very good friend named JR, is finishing his last year. He will be ordained next year -- and i will be attending his ordination mass.

I always talk to him, we keep in contact through emails and texting or calling each other. We support each other through our trials and our difficulties. I pray for him throughout his studies and mentally support him (as he really needs it!) as he does for me. He always text messages me from time to time and says things like, "Hi Doctor! Keep it up, and Keep studying!"

Small things like that, which really add up in the long run.

This is why I implore the OP and all the rest that may read this, to consider the vocation of these holy men. The spirit may be strong, but the flesh is weak. So be considerate of them, lang.

Poems and Poets / The Longing for Love
March 25, 2012, 11:43:49 AM
   â€œWhat is it? My dear?”
“Ah, how can we bear it?”
    “Bear what?”
“This. For so short a time.  How can we sleep this time away?”
“We can be quiet together, and pretendâ€" since it is only the beginningâ€" that we have all the time in the world.”
“And every day we shall have less. And then none.”
“Would you rather, therefore, have had nothing at all?”
“No. This is where I have always been coming to.  Since my time began.  And when I go away from here, this will be the mid-point, to which everything ran, before, and from which everything will run.  But now, my love, we are here, we are now, and those other times are running elsewhere.”

True Story.

My aunt was outside of our house in Valencia and some guy in her high school was talking to her at night. Ahong Lolo (Mr. Casiano Salvo Sr) kay uber strikto kaajo. Nazi Style. Naka kita ahong Lolo sa situwasyon, and he went to his room, loaded his shotgun (a two barreled shotgun; avid hunter ahong lolo), then walked outside to where the guy was at talking to my auntie. My Lolo looked at the guy and fired his shotgun both into the air.

Na hadlok tong yawaang tawhana. Ning drive off gajud paspas.

Lolo's reasoning for that was because wa ning adto sa balay ang lalake. Lain pod kono kai ngano mo anha man sija sa gawas sa gabii. Lain pod sigoro ijang interest. LOL.

Ever since then, that man never came back to our house in Valencia. Hadlok sija ipatyon ni 'Nong Ciano. Bwahahaha!

Gi ingnan nako, "You dont dare try to get in the way of my sister and her completion of her studies ! Leave her alone or i will kill you with my bare hands." I remember ning ning libat ahong mata nija. Ning layas galing tong tawhana. Ning dagan paspas.

Kadtong lalake, ning layas man galing. Wa'y respeto tong tawhana, Bai Hubag, di galing to sija mo introduce nako. Di ko angay anang type-a.

Nowadays, I tell my sister to be honest with me and don't try to hide things because I will always find out. ;D

Daghan jamo lalake sa kalibotan, daghan jamong lay men nga buutan. Ngano man gayod mo temper man ang mga babaye sa Pari? Ayaw'g lang na sila ilabti, kai theirs is a Holy, Reverant, and Sacrificial Position. Di mo maluuy sa ilang posisyon og ilang temptations already? Just leave them be and pray for them.

To the original poster, you may have feelings for this man, and this priest may have feelings for you as well. But it is wrong to do this while he is still in office as a Priest of God. There is a holiness in that position, to be able to administer the Holy Eucharist, which is the Real Presence. The Body and the Blood of the Lord. If your priest friend wants to be with you and you with him, then ask him to leave the priesthood. To partake in romantic relations with you while he still serves as a Priest is wrong. Please, I beg you, do not tempt him, have some sense of reverence for their position and their duties. Remember my dear, that a priest is already married; he is married and belongs to CHRIST

However, if you really love him, and he has some kind of hesitance, then please know that priests , like all of us humans are tempted to sin. But especially priests. The devil and his demons would like nothing more than to tempt and to affect the thoughts and actions of these holy men, the priests.

If you really love him and honestly care for him, perhaps, the greatest act of love would be to let him go. And pray for him. Love does not necessarily mean it has to be consummated with sexual intercourse. Some of the greatest form of love is sacrifice; just like how The Lord Jesus Christ best showed us His Love by dying on the cross for all of us, so that all our sins would be forgiven. By dying for us, he carried our own sins, so that we might Live. If you really love him with pure love, and know that he is hesitant, let him go.

This is just my view lang. Dont take it personal, but understand the reasoning behind.

this institutionalization of medical tourism in our country is actually good for our economy.  tourists are a source of revenue, so if some come for the chocolate hills, why not others for our hospitals?

we have some of the world's best medical practitioners, but so far thailand, singapore and india still beat us in medical tourism.  heaven forbid that we end up with a reputation as a good source of human organs for transplants, like india.

Absolutely, Isles. The Philippines is known for its excellent medical schools and superior medical systems such as St. Lukes', Manila General Hospital, Cebu Doctors, Iloilo Doctors etc.

Our country graduates high caliber Doctors, Pharmacists, and Nurses. The Head of Surgery at the hospital I am doing rotations in is a graduate of University of the East College of Medicine. The Head of Psychiatry is a graduate of Southwestern University College of Medicine; she is a Cebuana and presides over some 20 American M.Ds who work under her. ;)

so there we have it, the genes.  discrimination against size really has no place.  way kalainan sa kataw-an o kamenoson atong nawong, maayog atong gituyo nga genetic man tawon ang pagkahulma ani.

You are correct isles. Obesity is linked to genetic markers, sometimes it is even hormonal. So let us all be very open minded about this situation. There are some people who are "big" because of hormonal deficiencies. A person may have a condition called Hypothyroidism, which is a deficiency of thyroid's ability to produce the hormone called THYROXINE, which is responsible for metabolism. A person who has hypothyroidism will be bigger in size not because he or she eats a lot, but actually is due to a decreased thyroid function.

As for the obesity situation in the United States, it is a situation that is common in many rich countries. It is a problem that needs to be addressed, and we always recommend our patients to exercise regularly. A person does not have to be as thin as a twig, a person can be "buff" or "big" but so long as it is complemented with a weight loss regimen or at least a constant exercise program.

So long as one exercises at least 30 minutes a day and tries to control one's cholesterol, sugar levels. Be always aware of your blood pressure levels also. As hypertension is strongly linked to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular insults. :)

Yes, very guapo bitaw ang Iloilo City, Father R. The city is not as crowded as compared to Cebu, it still has its quaint charm to it. Buotan kaajo ang mga Ilonggo didto, they are one of the nicest people, pariho pariho ra pod sa Bol-anon.
