Ika nga, they find temporary relief from life's troubles when high with drugs. Klaro jod na nga it's a wrong mistake lagi.

Bible Study / Re: Minute Meditations
November 12, 2008, 05:43:33 PM
Lord show me the meaning of my existence. If I exist for a purpose You only know, then Thy will be done! In the fulfillment of my mission of living, let the Holy Spirit be upon my head for wisdom, Your Hand on my breast for love,  and Your hand on my shoulder for strength while I walk along the path towards that beaconing light of Your Choice. I may not be able to carry Your cross towards the end, forgive me Lord; I may often fall hayward along the way, forgive me Lord. I know You are a faithful Lawyer when everyone faces the trial in the end, and I am humbled that you don't spare each lost and unfaithful soul to Satan but paid Satan Your blood for our salvation. We thank you Lord in the name of our Lord Jesus, Your Only begotten Son, and the true Redeemer of the World...Amen

Gener,

Boholanos are  one with smiles as a sign of welcome to your entry to the TB club. The members of this club are not only known as hospitable people, but we are terribly hospitalized reading your polite request for entry. Your posts are but semblances of palliatives for the unlearned minds, intellectually provoking, and a relief to our emptiness while being away from our homeland. Keep on posting!

We welcome you with open arms,

From Bosoy

Inspiration & Hope / Re: Why God allows suffering?
November 12, 2008, 04:35:12 PM
Mao nay giingon nila nga "Life is full of pressures to make each human being alive grow and become mature." We certainly know this fact is inevitable but we just have to prepare ourselves for our turn. Anyway, nobody escapes life alive, di ba?

Inspiration & Hope / Re: Why God allows suffering?
November 12, 2008, 04:20:12 PM
These hapless and gruesome events occuring around day in and day out, serve us as a reminder of the Omnipotent God, His presence in us that as a human being we easily forget. It bleeds really to hear and witness people grieving their lost loved ones falling victims of these inhuman acts. Nobody in this respect is immune to that kind of situation. Only time will tell. But on the positive point of view, we look so envious on the side of the victims because God recall their lives here on earth that early so as not to prolong the agony they have to suffer in this troubled world while alive.

#1310

Natinga man jod ko ni Joc Joc. Gusto pa niya nga maconfine pa siya sa St. Luke for an indefinite period. Matud pa sa mga doktor nija, wa man kunoy siyay sakit. Tanang lab test gisuwayan na, angio, blood, MRI, etc. puro negative man kuno ang resulta.

#1321
The fertilizer fund was really alloted to help the farmers in the countryside to boost agricultural production. The inception of the problem was the timing of its release. It was almost the start of the national election period.

Hindi ako agree lahat how the Americans maneuvers underdeveloped countries for their self interest.  They know when to generate war between small nations to commercialize and despose their almost obsolete arsenals in their junks yards. They offer and waggle financial aides, including military, just to ensure allegiance of these nations to America. Pero of course may kapalit yang lahat.
#1327
I don't see any immediate solution of the situation except total revamp or civil war to revert the true nature of the pyramidal system. But it is so drastic and will inflict more damage than good. The situation here is like a total collapse of the moral fibers of society. Evil deeds are seemingly normalized as if they were acceptable because big crimes are committed by people in power. they are all looking after their own interest, and they know how to circumvent the laws because the laws are seemingly tailored or customized to fit their interest, for their own sake and not for the sake of the whole populace. Enzo, correct me if I'm wrong with my own perception.
#1328
Gaw mao man ko gihapon. Way pagbag-o, ika nga. Alay, o Nong Alay doesn't matter at all.
Gaw bilib ko nimo kay in your laymans point of view you seem to understand the whole situation how Tanguhay River is degraded from a beautiful river into a dry creek. In any way very basic ang sitwasyon diha and there's no need for a technocrat to explain. When we exploit nature for a common good, there's not much question about it provided that it must be bounded with certain limitations just to avoid destruction. Now that the damage is done, the responsible persons inflicting the damage have to do by all means to restore the natural flow of the river. they have to implement mitigating measures to avoid further destruction. We cannot wait nature to punish innocent people living along that river because of the negligence of other people who benefited from it. Local officials have to look into it if they care! If they don't, they should be out of office!

You are right Gaw!

Guindulman - Bohol / Re: History sa canhaway pls
November 06, 2008, 09:28:08 AM
the courage and unwavering spirit of patriotism of Nong Baning Bernido remain always in our hearts. This is really an issue that Bohol historians are challenged to decipher those events while there still exist people who could account the war against the Japs in Guindulman. Japs established their HQ in Basdio where they pursued manganese mining needed for their arsenals.

American people and the rest of the world are in euphoria in witnessing the engraving of another history of America. "the first black president of the US enters the white house!" I am one among those people! Heep heep, Hurrayyy!!!! Kanta na lang ko ha?

"O ba ma side.....O ba ma self
That's gonna be
O ba ma side.....O ba ma self

Hmmmm...out of tune ata. Sensya ka na lang ha?

Lorenzo is right in his perception of what a leader should be. He must possess strong leadership ability under a given time and situation. Meaning to say the helm of his stewardship is relative to the mode of the people, the economic situation, and the international relationship among nations. These three basic factors are what a national leader should be keen about, understand fully the macro and the micro sides of them, formulate action plans under varying scenarios and degree of priorities, and execute policies accordingly. Dictatorship becomes practical if and when, there is an impending divisiveness among his constituents. Thus, an iron hand is envisioned to establish unity among the people. However rude it is, the situation renders it necessary.

John McCain is a goodman indeed! He gracefully concedes immediately as a loser. What a good example for our politicians to emulate! Wrong timing ang pagkandidato nya when most of the Americans perceived him as a reflection of the Bush Administration. Sa local dialect pa, Busheeet!!!!
#1344
#1345
Slacks, just correct me if I'm wrong. Those comments are part of his metro paguapo. What about the negative side of his.
#1346
Barak O bak congraturations for the big win. Mak kain ka na ba? You are rucky many Firipinos robs you very much. Kuros to u and your tribe!
#1347
Naay mga tujom (sea orchin) daghan. Pero dali ra man mawagtang ang tunok ug imong kahi....hmmm, hibawo kana di ba?
#1348
Let us consider these statistical data objectively. Medyo may katutuhanan maski very few lang ang samples that are taken into account. Our objective here is not to make the situation as if it were looking good but to formulate some plans of action how to alleviate the weaker side of it.

Really am being proud to be a Boholano. Thanks to Caloy Garcia! Once you are identified as a Boholano anywhere you go in the country, your identity is linked to him, a humble person, adventurous and flexible. Ika nga, maski saging ra ug kamote solve na ta mga sano ug sana. Bisan ug ang sud an kinagod nga lubi flexible pa gihapon. That's the advantage Boholano has an edge compared with other compatriots from other provinces. Bisan ug asa idagsa, ania pa gihapon ang dugong Bol-anon nga gitanom kanato gikan pa ni Dagohoy hangtod sa atong pinalanggang sano nga si Carlos P. Garcia. We salute your achievements in a humble way!

I was once invited to deliver a keynote address in a National Convention of the National Retired Church Workers and Spouses Assoc. in the Philippine held in Lucena City two years back. Explain ko nila nga, "The fact that we are still alive, the message is so clear, that we still have to fulfill uncompleted missions endowed to us by God. Retirement is not an affirmation of old age, but a part of life's transition and turning over part of our responsibilities to the next generation in line." (Full text of my speech is published in Blogspot.com). I felt more difficulty than inspiring them to live a life with dignity, integrity and self-esteem kasi mga moralist ang audience, mga retired priests, pastors, deacons and deaconess. Wow, one could not imagine the good side of her strictness, her being a streneous disciplinarian when one realizes his/achievements in life no matter how small they are! Getting old alive is the greatest achievement in life. There's not much secret about it! Want to know it? Here's my friendly advice, "Don't take seriously pressures you encountered in life, neither avoid them because nobody escapes life alive!"
#1351
Mao kanay sinyales nga you are getting older na. Ha ha ha!!!
#1352
Getting older is but an illusion of the mind when one is preoccupied with numbers in arithmetic progression. Birthday celebration is one way of affirming one that he/she is getting older every year. Suwayi kuno nga di na mo magcelebrate ug birthday, di ba malimtan ninyo ug pila na inyong edad.
#1353
Syempre naman! Oi dili Ilongga akong mrs. waray ini. Mao nga ako waray na sab. Waray buhok na.
#1354
#1355
Si Nong Iko patay na sab, mga two years more na. Dugay gani sab ko kahibalo. Wa na sab ko kabalita nila Tata. May construction company man kuno. We were then together when I was teaching in Manila where Tata finished his course in Architecture.

Dugay na nga wa na ko magabroad after working in the Middle East for more than a decade. I decided to work here Manila to fulfill my dreams of utilizing my profession for our country's sake and stay near with my love ones syempre. Nasa real estate business ako ngayon. Paretire narin. Sooner when I retire I will be spending the rest of my life with my wife in Bulawan. Maajo didto kay duol ra ug menteryo, di ba?
#1356
Sa iningles pa, "time will come".
#1357
Manny was so familiar to me when I worked out for the approval by the DPWH of the proposed plan and design of San Pedro Exit in SLEX.  We met in several meetings all at his expense. He was then a congressman that time. Bungga jod! Because of his utmost interest in making such a big project realized, he committed to extend some share of the funding because realizing this project means a lot for his business, a plus marketing factor for his mid-end subdivision located right after the proposed exit. That was in the late nineties. Until now that commitment is nowhere found, only to find out that that particular project is already included in the modernization project of SLEX. Another oppurtunist in the making!
#1358
Buwad, relax ka lang dyan! Wag kang masyadong rebelious! Si kaniadtong Congressman Galagar, hilon kaajo tong tawhana. Taga Jagna man to sija, di ba?
#1359
Gaw, lipay ko nga you got this opputunity to be in close contact with these people. Ayuha lang gaw but please don't forget our upbringings! Looy pod atong mga kaliwat didto.
#1360
Huwaton sa nato ug kinsa ang molansar. Then take the odd man out. Here's my projection: sugdan ko na ha?

1. Manny Villar-

Pro: A successful real estate tycon, wealthy and knowlegeable in diversified economics. Shaped up image from rags to reaches, master in business game planning ang queing, a seemingly attractive candidate that could infuse some buffer in our economic policies to prevent our local economy from the effects of an impending international economic melt down.

Con: Good in stragizing govenment infrastructure programs beneficial to his line of business. He is the brain of constructing major thoroughfares to dicongest the traffic in Metro Manila, Daang Hari, C-6, Manila East road, to name a few. These roads traverse his vast real estate properties and open best opputunities to develop his business. All these foregoing projects are funded by the peoples money. Unsay imong ikasulti niya? Oppurtunist, di ba?

Patay na sab siya more than three years ago. I was there during his wake 'til his internment. Nagkita mi imong tatay kay midoaw man pod siya.

Calle... you are right but just let us give Enzo the benefit of the doubt. I guess he was still not around during the Marcosian era. Let us see how Enzo interprets history drawn out from many sources. Could it be twisted come the next generations?
#1367
#1368
Yes, possibilities are finite like winding twist and turns. It has to start within ourselves by showing our less fortunate brothers that we care. Unless we do that, the cycle remains.

Remember the great words of encouragement uttered from the lips of JFK? " Ask not what the government can do for you, but ask what you can do for the government." The government he was refering to is the people who put them into power.

JFK made history when he was elected as the first Catholic President of the US. Now, the US is on the treshold of cementing the will for a change by electing Barrak Obama as the 44th US President. He made history as the first black president elected in the US. My hand off to the new president elect!
#1370
Are they members of the silent committee? Ask ko lang.
#1371
Welcome! So we are out to correct the misrepresentation and the literal connotation of the name of this peaceful community. In the real sense Bulawan is a very small community of barely more than a hundred families, not anyone is a goldminer, neither a gold digger. Of course the population now is increasing but in trickles, except the population of the dead.
#1372
Money begets power. Power begets corruption. Corruption begets economic dislocation. Economic dislocation begets hunger. Then hungry voters prefer candidates who can dole out more money than the other. Mobalik gihapon ang cycle that, 'Money talks', when more Filipino stomachs are complaining.
#1373
The name of the place Sagisi was later changed to 'Bulawan' since Nong Indong Bertumen assumed chairmanship of the Baranggay of Saguisi. Bulawan was already popularly known to the residents way back before it was formally adopted as the name of the Barangay thru the enactment of a Barangay Resolution, was it in 1967? The name was given by the folks in honor of its patron saint, San Vicente Ferrer, who is blessed with divine healing powers. It was supposedly called 'bulahan' meaning blessed, but local dialect prefer the name 'bulawan' because the former sounded like a Cebuano than the latter.
#1374
As far as I can recall, Sagise was named after a specie of a tree called 'sagusahis' then famous in the vicinity. This type of a tree has broad hairy leaves strong enough to remove sticky dirts just by rubbing it around the affected surface. During my grade school, when our teachers assigned us to clean our tables and chairs, ako dayon ang padad on ug 'sagusahis' in leiue of what we popularly know at present as 'sandpaper' . The hissing sound produced while rubbing it against the surface is a bit irritating to the ears. Pero, that doesn't mean Saguisinhon are irritants, just the sound of that particular leaf.
#1375
Oi, mga taga Guindulman, ngano mang nangahilom man mo. Mora man mog gilabjan ug multo! Please continue this thread, pang tambaw sa kamingaw!
#1376
Calle, you're exactly right! All Nene thought about his pet law was flawless without looking different scenarios in all angles. He then thought that leaders of the local government are God-fearing like him kuno; that corruption is nowhere in the minds of these local officials kasi bulgar kuno kaayo sa mga local constituents. They take their position as an opputunity to enrich themselves without minding starving Juan de la Cruz to death.
#1377
It is not surprising why we Filipinos are dreaming of a mesiah (term from buwadsanga) to assume the stewardship of our country for a better future. Who's not? Amidst the seeming hopelessness we feel nowadays! I agree Marcos was a stong leader if not of Imelda and the cronies. We enjoyed better days during his reign than now. He started shaping up needed infrastructures, national electrification, widespread agricultural programs, strengthening of manpower resources, and wholesome international relationship. He figured out to be strong, but he was rendered efiminate and inutile by the majic wand of his imedific wife who caught him in bed with a famous hollywood star. Kaya sabi ni Imelda sa kanya, "My wish is my command!"
#1378
Pahehas lang sila ug panagway. Adolf Hitler was born at the Gasthof zum Pommer, an inn in Braunau am Inn, Austria-Hungary, on 20 April 1889. He was the fourth child of six to a cruel father, Alois Hitler (1837–1903), who was then a customs official. His mother, Klara Pölzl (1860–1907), was Alois' third wife.

He failed in grade six and first year high school and barely passed his third year. Mao nga wala gyod siyay diploma sa high school. Matud pa sa iyang biography, his educational depression was a sign of revenge against his cruel father who wanted him to study custom which was far from his interest, fine arts. However, he was unable to attend a formal education in fine arts not only because he lacked high school diploma, but also because he failed to pass the entrance exam in one of the schools in Germany.
#1379
Kadtong mga na-involve sa fertilizer scam, supak dayon nga ang senado walay jurisdiction to investigate the case. They suggested the case to be deliberated by a more authorized body kuno, the OMBUDSMAN. Wow!!!
#1380
Bitaw no? Unsa na kahay imong kahimtang ug matigulang kana nga way asawa o bana nga magatiman nimo?
#1381
Di man na effective nga exercise ug motinkangkang dayon. Kinahanglan mag warm up usa.
#1384
LOL
#1385
Corruption becomes widespread and worst during the implementation of the local government code championed by Nene Pemintel. This just expands the bureaucractic system of our government, the root cause of this number one evil of governance. Empowering so much people in the procurement process of government documents adds the burden to even the ordinary people, not to mention the cost of acquiring it.

Muslim men in Malaysia are allowed up to four wives[/color] but activists and women's groups say polygamy is cruel and has deviated from its original purpose in Islam, which was to protect widows and orphans. - Free Republic

I remember asking my muslim friend before about Islam practice of polygamy.

Ngew...korni ba?

Why not Tess. That's a good idea in remembrance of you late father who championed the creation of Bulawan Elementary School and the improvement of our Barangay Road. Tandem sila ni Nanay Ilang kaniadto diba?
