March 28, 2008, 12:43:11 AM
Quote from: Lorenzo on March 28, 2008, 12:33:51 AM
Addendum:

The former Governor Spitzer is an example of a hypocrit. During the commotion of then-President William Clinton in 1998 for his alleged sexual relations with White House intern Monika Lewinsky, Spitzer and other die hard republicans were the ones that first denounced Clinton's actions as defamatory, immoral, and unethical. He was one of the first Republican politicians that demanded the resignation of the president.

And here it is, exactly 10 years from that day, he is the one caught acting on such 'defamatory, unethical, immoral' crimes. Hypocrisy.

Yes Dong, the word is hypocrisy.  I just couldn't believe he could do that to himself and more so to his family.

David Paterson also had his indiscretions.  The day after the inauguration, he acknowledged having had an extramarital affairs, one with a state employee and one with a Olympic medalist.  I hope with the new position he has now, that can keep him busy and he should learn from the mistakes of Spitzer.  The trouble with Spitzer though was he was so righteous about prostitutions, for one, and he himself is doing it.  He just ruined his career that he worked for a long time and where he was exemplary with just one young lady for hire.  tsk tsk tsk

Hello Clams 63! ;D

I don't think I ever had physical fight with anyone but words are sharper than swords baya!  I remember we had a Junior Officer's training/seminar on business writing back when I was still working in Cagayan de Oro. The Trainor was the son-in-law of one of the Bank's Board of Directors.  He was US-trained but boy was he mean!  When he saw somebody looking sleepy, he got so angry and talked lengthily that we were rude and that he wasn't there for the money because he was RICH and he didn't need it!  He kept emphasizing that for no reason.  Then he wanted to have a soda and he asked one officer rudely.  It was his luck that the officer he asked was a nice man and  wasn't me.  You see, there were student assistants who were assisting the training but no, he wanted to ask one officer to get his soda.  It was just one day seminar but after lunch break, 5 of the 30 officers did not come back. Well, for the whole morning, he didn't talk anything much about the training but how rich he was.  So anyway, when we came back after lunch break, he was upset that there were empty seats.  He was so fuming mad!  He said he has never been insulted.  He gave a litany of his credentials only to be insulted by "province" people.  I could feel my ears getting red already but I was afraid at first because I didn't want to lose my job.  I had so mouth to feed, students to pay tuition fees, etc.  Then he asked us, I was good, was I?  Then without thinking, I just raised my arm and stood up.  He was so surprised.  And I told him, "actually, you are so haughty.  You did nothing but humiliate and insult us".  He roared like crazy and asked the group if they thought the same and my fellow officers backed me up and the chaos began!  He had to be restrained by the Head of the Human Resource Department with a guard who were called in because he was screaming like a mad man.  At that time, I was already out of the training room and went back to my office.  I didn't know the 5 officers who did not report for the afternoon session already talked to the higher management so they knew already what was wrong with that guy.  Oh, I got lots of call from the Top Management and from my fellow officers.  I was called the Gabriela Silang of the bank! :D

In high school, I was the loner type and would hang out with only a select few people. I was part of the 'jock' group, as I played football, part of the track team (javelin, discuss, and weight balls). Sports events were very competitive and some of the players would usher insulting things to each other; I was on the receiving end of most of these comments due to the competition. Especially during football season in my freshman, sophomore and junior years of high school. I would absorb the comments and insults by teammates and by some of the assistant coaches, never showing my negative response to it, but it did hurt. I would store it inside, until one time I had an argument with another player during practice (this person was the one I didn't get along with, he was a linebacker and I was a defensive noseguard). All I could remember was he said something and threw the football at me in spite even tho I did nothing to him and I unleashed my anger outright on him. I tackled him and rammed my helmet deep into his abdomen; the coaching staff and other players had to get me off of him. His entire face was bloodied because of it and his chest pad actually cracked due to the force of impact.

So yea, its not healthy at all to keep things boggled inside. Because when it does come out, its not very pleasant.

However, in my case with the incident in the football field, I don't feel bad about it. As the saying goes, don't start a fight when you don't intend to end it.

Dong, were you suspended?  But he instigated the fight by throwing  the football on you ha?  But in most cases, both are suspended or punished. What happened to you?

Funny, we were talking about the Chinese that kind of invaded the world.  Every where you go, there's always Chinese merchants. But come to think of it, Jews are also everywhere dating from way back when.  They were not able to conquer the world, were they?  I don't think the Chinese could ever do as well.  They will however proliferate in the business sector.  They are so good at it.

We don't need a mansion to find peace in our heart.  All we need is to allow God to reign in our heart.  To still the doubt and anxiety and pain.  May we allow him to reside in our hearts and let it be God's little mansions.

Gai, you wouldn't want to think it's just a bleeding ulcer because it is not "just a bleeding ulcer".  It wasn't easy because I underwent lots of procedures like having camera dropped inside my body through my nose then through my throat then through my ubot2x.  It wasn't fun.  Sige lang, just relax lang.  You'll be okay ra lagi.

Tiya, diba ang bleeding ulcers are not excruciating as bladderstones? i learned it from my patients before.

Mao ba, Maring?  That must be hard.  I don't want to know how painful it is.

Gai, you'll be fine ra lagi.  Let's just wait for the result.

Unsa man ning milagroha Grazie? I mean kang Mr. Stanley Villavecencio - and where it happens?

He apparently died for three days after he experienced some kind of a convulsion with blood oozing from his nose and mouth.  He was in Chong Hua Hospital kept alive with a life support system.  Then he woke up, removed all the gadgetries attached to his body and lived to tell that he saw Jesus Christ.  That's kind of the gist to his story.  This is what they tagged as Divine Mercy Miracle.  Here are few of many links detailing his story:

Tinuod bang dili pwede magminyo ang mag-agaw labi na 3rd degree kay malas?
Tinuod bang adunay sigbin jod?
Tinuod ba pod ning naay ungo nagpuyo sa mga buho nga adunay tubig?
Tinuod bang naglakaw lakaw sa kalibutan ang santelmo?

:D ;D

On 3rd degree cousins:  I used to work with a guy who got married to his 3rd degree cousin.  They are successful and happily married after more than 10 years na.  I think ang issue lang ana kay taboo lagi daw unya basin maka cause ug abnormality sa mga offsprings but so far, and thanks God, ok ra man mga bata.  Gani smart pa.  I am the Ninang of their first born.

On Sigbin:  Pastilan, sa una mag baklay ko pauli sa Taloto agi sa Baguio after my night classes, ingon sila naay Sigbin diha dapit sa seminaryo, pirte tawon nako'ng kurog2x baklay sige'g pangadji.  Wa man poy ning tunga.  Ingon nila mag lakaw daw na patalikod ang sigbin!  binuangan ra man siguro ta oi!

On santilmo:  nakakita na jud ko santilmo sa amo pod sa una.  But naa man scientific explanation ana oi and I will leave it to the scientists here sa TB to explain!  Dili daw na sya fire but plasma.  Oh well, basta mahadlok mi sa una makakita ug santelmo.  For Dodong Enzo na wa ka ila ug santilmo, it's St. Elmo's Fire.

Miracles bring light to the hopeless, right?  What I hate about this if it will be combined soon into art of business.  But sorry to say, that this what really happens wherever miracles occurred....souvenirs is being sold in connection to that and even candles has it high prices. Hotels be erected for the comfort of those windstorm miracles tourism, isn't? And everyone like to make the best profit in the name of the Lord.

Agree, Ms. Bambi!  People take these kind of stories to the extreme.  They will sell a piece of cloth that was allegedly robbed to the Birhen or kong kinsa nang milagro.  Mawala ang true essence of the miracle.

Ka remember ko, diha pod lady na taga Loon na gimilagrohan daw pod ni Mama Mary.  Nice ilang balay unya naa sya'y payag where she could accept visitors na magpatambaw.  She doesn't accept donations but ginadalhan man to nilang Mommy ug Puto Cheese.  Anyway, nakauban ko one time.  Sa wall, naa silay gina tan aw.  Makita jud nila pati akong manghud ang itsura ni Mama Mary but no matter how I emote, di jud nko makita.  I guess I wasn't given the grace then to see Mama Mary.  It was maybe because I was skeptical.  But yes, I do believe in miracles but I have to admit I am not the one who believes without actually seeing it but neither do I discredit people who believes wholeheartedly about these things.  God manifested himself in various miracles as written in the bible.

Oi, speaking of miracles, there was this guy who visited my aunt's parish last month na taga Cebu  His name is Stanley Villavicencio.  Naa na moy nadungog about aning tawhana?  His miracle was investigated daw by the church and was proven to be true.  He already spoke to the bishops in Italy.  I just don't know if I really believe him just yet.  :)

Hello Gai,

I am not doctor but I kind of know what you feel.  It's all because of stress and crying.  I dunno, when I cry, my ribcage also get so painful not to count my facial muscles.  Yes, I have been feeling the pain you described here.  I self-diagnosed that as heartburn and or acid reflux but it led me to the emergency because it became a bleeding ulcer.  Well, the doctors here told me that when I sleep, it should be elevated.  The depth of the elevation should be at least that of a hollow block.

Gai, I hope nothing is seriously wrong with you.  I will include you in my prayers.  Stay positively happy as you are.  Let go and let God!  Take care, young lady!  God bless!   :-*
