You are right Rald. Cultural makeover and discipline is the answer. If we are heading for an eco-tourism business, then we have to adjust our ways and bend our culture to suite with international standards.

Our locals might not know what is right and wrong or what can offend foreigners. So, being exposed to other cultures, it is also our responsibility to educate our locals of the things and ethiquetes acceptable internationally. Let us start with our relatives back home. Simply by just by telling stories during inuman could spread the education and awareness (word-by-mouth).

I have great confidence to our Navy. The are the first line of defence being stationed in our boundaries. Their great dedication, vigilance and calibre is beyond doubt. However, they lack the sophisticated/advanced equiptments, machineries and firepower.

Job well done to our Navy, men and women who risk thier lives to protect our county.

Admission of one's ignorance is the first step to attaining knowledge.

Owning up to one's faults is a big leap towards the long journey of improvement.

Absolutely, you are right GEC and this is a wake-up call.

However, I doubt if our Local officials knows about this fact. This is just simple and basic, yet a big thing to our visitors.

They came to Bohol believing the tour Ad. Let us not disappoint them. Let us give them more value than what thier money has paid for.

Believe me, if we just sit and do nothing, these tourists will shun away and will search for another destination for thier holidays by next season and might also tell their friends about thier bad experience in Bohol, creating a negative chain reaction.

They are our major customers and customers are always right.

Na istorya pod nako si King Abdulaziz, the reigning king of Saudi Arabia and one of the richest man alive on this planet.

Mao ni among conversation (in Arabic):

King Abdulaziz: Macky, jib wahid shai.

Macky: Ma'a halib? Kam sukar?

King Abdulaziz: La' mafi halib, bas swei sukar.

Since wala diri si Barbaro nga mo translate sa Arabic, ako nang i-reveal ang among conversation ni King Abdulaziz as below:

King Abdulaziz: Macky, give me a cup of tea.

Macky: With milk? how much sugar?

King Abdulaziz: No, without milk and with small sugar.

Kinsa man ang nag print sa una? Si Elsie siguro to (just guessing).

I suggest nga para makuha ang bulk sa printing, ilista ang name and size (SF, S, M, L or XL) ug pila ka buok.
Meaning:
SF = Spiderman Fit (for kids below 10 or kadtong gusto magpa sexy)
S = Small
M = Medium
L = Large (dili ni Little ha)
XL = No need to mention (Kadtong wala mo sunod sa F2Crussade)

Serioius ni ha, akong sugdan
1. Macky Ferniz, size: L (2 t-shirts for my Pa and Ma)
2. kinsa mo sunod?
3.
4.

Since Jun Ayag is the organizer, ato ni nga i-submit niya.

I shook hands with:
- Fidel Ramos (twice)
- Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (thrice)
- Senate President Manny Villar (once in Davao City)

I once acted as tour guide for Liza Macuja (the ballerina) and her sister Gia (the soprano)

I once said a word of comfort to Cesar Montano after the 2007 elections.

There were still a few other famous persons but revealing who they are would be revealing who I am  ;D

GEC,

Just curious, during your tour with the ballerina, Liza Macuja, did you noticed her walking on tip-toe (en pointe)? Did she wear her flats?  ;D

Space travel is evolving. NASA has tested its Plasma Engine which is also called he "accelleration with patience" jet engine. It will accellerate very slowly, but constantly without limit until the craft reaches at light speed using plasma jet stream.

Another way, though not tested is to build like a solar sail, so the craft will travel with the light particles ejected by the Sun.

Ako pod nga suggestion. Kun dunay Music town sa Bohol, puede pod nato himoon ug Poetry Village ang Tubo Village.

Basta mag gama ta ug stage ug kinsa gustong mo pabuhagay sa iyang balak, hala saka didto sa stage, bisan walay audience. Si Bambi unang mo saka didto.

Tubo - Short for Tubag Bohol

Tubo (bisaya) - Sugar Cane

By the way Graze, if you want to upload the CD songs, you may register in this filipino website and once you are a member, you can upload any songs in digital format: http://worldwidefilipinoalliance.ning.com

The good thing in this website is you can upload in batches, so you will highlight example 10 songs and just click upload and forget about it. Once the songs are there, you can also share a link here in Tubag Bohol.

This is a nice website graze, the future of OFWs, you will see, just try.

I met the late UN General Carlos P. Romulo. The year after his visit in Bohol, he died.

I was a CAT Cadet during that time, guarding the stage at the grandstand. After his speach, he gave a hand to every one on the stage including me.

Lorenzo,

I remembered the pictures you post there. It is very controversial. It is from a rock found in the arctic circle, which scientists believed it came from Mars some millions of years ago. It was chipped off from Mars when a meteorite hit Mars and that rock flew off and reached the Earth as meteorite and landed at the arctic cirle.

When they analyzed it, has similar composition to the ones brought back by Marcian Explorer. But when they put it inside the slide of the microscope, they found a seemed to be fosilized bacteria.

It became a controversy among scientific communities as it suggests that life once exists on Mars, millions of years ago. I did not follow that story since 2003.

Just today, astronomers found 4 earth like planet that revolves around a star slightly smaller as our sun. The star is very near at only 1 light year away from our solar system, that means we have to travel at a speed of light at a duration of 1 year to reach there.

One of the planets is four times the size of earth, one is 6.5, one is 7 and one is 9. The closest to the star revolves around it once in four days (pretty fast - thier year is only four days).

They said it as earthlike because it holds significant amount of water. Presence of water can be detected through the different spectrum as seen on the radio telescope. Also scientist will know if there is a planet revolving a star because there is a slight wobble caused by the revolving planet.

I wonder if there is life on this planet and how would it look. What would be the cycle of life there since thier year is just 4 days. I can only wonder.

Kanang Map scaled down from actual, ug puede kana atong basehan sa pag bahin or subdivide.

Mailhan pod nato kung unsa ang nature sa land, kung vegetation, wetland  or agricultural, nakasulat man na at the time of survey.

Mao na akong trabaho sa una.

This is a sort of premature announcement that I applied as a sales representative to a leading hot-air balloon company situated in Michigan. Most likely, I will be working on commission basis and my job includes marketing and promotion of thier product. We have already exchanged several communications, but still we have not made any commitment or agreement. They proposed the Philippines is my area of coverage, which means I should quit my present job if I will go serious on this.

They are the same company who built the historical Breitling Balloon who broke the world record as pioneer for circumnavigating the earth.

There are still lots of negotiations, requirements, quotas and conditions to be finalized and officially, I am still not connected with them. Nag duha-duha pa ko.

However, if this job is not feasible for me, I plan to hand-over or recommend someone for this job who is stationed in the Philippines, with priority to our Tubag Bohol members.

Our children.

RE: Diony Castro of Duero laments over corruption issues.

First & foremost, I'd like to say hi to all Duerohanons, old friends & my family there. It is a great opportunity to be part of this forum where we can reconnect people from all over the world.

CARINA BERNALDEZ AGUIMAN here from Sydney, Australia. Living in western world is not comparable to living in 3rd world country, however, all the memories that we have still remain fresh and unforgettable that lasts forever.  Our background helps us grow personally & professionally. So, there's no need to criticize our people serving the government. Probably, some are but we should not generalize everyone. My best example is my father, Ex-Vice Mayor Pedro Byron Aguiman. He's true and genuine politician dedicated to serve the people of Duero. I believe he did not make money out of politics. We go this far through our hard work, working together as a team for our living and determination to get where we wanted.

With this forum, I am so proud of my sister, EMMA AGUIMAN NOWELL, for expressing in public her intentions, views and dedication what she wanted in the future. She is so bright and brave to take all the challenge ahead if the plans will push through. I am her great supporter from Sydney, Australia that wants a better DUERO one day too.  We just need a leader like my father!

Hi Carina,

Your name sounds familiar to me. If I'm not mistaken, we are classmates under batch 83 Pioneers of Janssen Heights DWCT.

Hope I'm not mistaken.

Anyhow, thanks for being a part of Tubag Bohol.

I admire her originality, voice quality and showmanship.

By the way, since you mentioned here about Charise Pampengco, I dislike the style of Charise. I don't blame her, she has that powerful vocal quality. But her managers should teach her to do what is original and let her sing in her own style.

To me, Charise is only a Whitney Houston duplicate. Nobody can beat the legend. Believe me, I cover my ears whenever I hear Charise on TV and I don't feel proud.

Bran,

Thanks for your health tips.

I also believe in "Moderation" and "Variety". It does'nt matter if you take everything, but in small portion. Look at the Japanese diet, on a small table, you will find more than 10 kinds of food like, beef, fish, vegetables, seaweeds, horse, shellfish, octopus, you name it and all are in coin sizes. After a great meal, they drink rice wine and puff a cigar.

But look, they have longitivity and the highest life expectancy.

Bran,

I found a website of Hot Air Ballooner's Club. I saved it in my office and I will tell you by tomorrow.

They are always looking for a venue for thier hobby. Perhaps they have not known Bohol as a good venue. So, it is our job to promote the tourism industry of our province. We may send to the organizer's email a picture of Bohol's unique scenery, so they may be enticed to have Bohol as their next venue.

The above is only an edited drawing in photoshop and not real, just to give you the closest picture to my idea. I have also edited a hot air balloon dropping by the Loboc river, so close to the water. It's in my office and I will post it tomorrow.

How about Para-gliding. Ginger, asa ra man imong para-glider? Wala bay nilabay diha kay atong sundogon, i-duplicate.

Honestly, excited nah kaayo ko aning atong plano...
ganahan man gud ko mo invest ug yuta...

Mike, actually dugay ra ko nga nag plano ug yuta, apan mahal man kaayo since 10 years mi kalit ug saka ang yuta sa Tagbilaran.

So, opportunity na kini nga naay atong katunga.

So ang yuta sa ig-agaw ni Simplylee have a total area of 40,000 sq. meter.

Sa una pa to mga P3,000 kada tipak, I don't know now. So naay usa ka lot nga walay bayad ug subdivide.

Usa sa atong famous expression "Naa pay ugma" or "mura man kag wa nay ugma". Mao nga dili ta mga paranoid ug dili ta worried sa future and this is a very brave statement. Ug kung naay dautan nga mo dangat, mo ingon lang sab ug "unsaon man, mao may pad or kapalaran", so andam ta, prepared ta, brave ta nga mo dawat sa atong fate.

Ilang gi sacrifice ang precious time which is intended to enjoy life itself.

BOC, you really did good in expressing the feelings of Kabaw.  After all the hard work of Kabaw, gi ihaw pa jud!  But as what Ate Lita said, that's the Kabaw life.  I am just wondering sa mga farmers whose partner in farming is Kabaw, unsa kaha ilang bation noh kon time na to let go of the kabaw unja ihawon?  I remember my Mom named our baboy as Sharon.  Fiesta time and time to butcher the poor pig, wa tawon ning tan aw si Mommy.

Parehas pod sa gagmay pa mi. First time mi nag buhi ug baktin ug mura na ug puppy ang among tratar sa baktin ug hasta among iro mo apil ug duwa niya. Among gi nganlan ug Gikgik.

Nindot imong balak, ma feel nimo tanang emotions, katawa, hilak, etc. etc.

The end is tragic, yet a sense of accomplishment sa iyang mission. He became a kusahos (hostiyas).

#1262

Nag compose pa ko at the meantime sa KABAW theme.

Benne,

Let me talk to my mother on Saturday weather the house is still available. That is my Aunt's house and she is now residing in CA. From that place, going to HNU is vide Calceta Street, beside Saint Jude Hospital straight up. About one and a half kilometer, you will reach Dampas road, near Suma Kumagay.

There are two other houses my mother mentioned before, but then, we don't know if it is already occupied by now. I will PM you on Saturday evening.

Hi Benne,

Just let me know if you you require my assistance to find another place to relocate your family.

If you feel Cogon, near cocacola or airport is suitable, I will check if the houses I knew are still vacant. Most of them have gates.

Cogon is a peaceful place compared to any other Baranggays in Tagbilaran.

Note: I did not read the earlier part of this thread and I just assume that you are still searching a house.

Hi Macky,

Since I already acquired a lot in Dauis (see overlooking) for more than as 5,000 sq. meters...I am more interested to that lot offered in Corella which cost 30,00 Pesos p sqm for farming purposes (fruits, vegetables; camote, and etc).  By the way, how far is Corella from Tagbilaran? Never been there yet.  Aside from those popular not "not like ours" how safe is that town from rebels? Who is the owner?....or there is an agent for this to handle some negotations? I would be glad to hear some valuable infos. thanks....

Edelweis, I will keep in touch with you and Jun about this.

I also support this systematic method of disposing and composting waste. There should also be a garbage sorting station, where valuable recyclable materials shall be separated for re-sale and organic materials shall be composted to be sold as fertilizers in farms. Thus only non-biodegradable materials shall be dumped as solid waste.

This way, our city will dispose thier waste efficiently and get extra income from selling valuable recylable materials.

Last week was World Environment Day. I attended a seminar sponsored by Saudi Aramco for the Protection of Marine Life specially the corals. They stressed the importance of planting mangroves as life support and habitat for many marine life including migratory birds.

I received a cap and a coffee mug as souvenir, which I will take picture and post it here.

Let us not forget that it is Borobotoy who started this thread and want to sell thier family land.

We have two options here, which for me are both feasible and both are fairly priced.

1. Lot in Panglao Island (by Borobotoy) is quite costly, but of prime location to tourism zone; hence, more business opportunity.

2. Lot in Corella is far from the city, but the cost is very attractive. This place is also near to Tarsier sanctuary which is also a tourist attraction.

The following will give you a better picture how far your P100,000 could buy:

1. Lot in Panglao Island @ P350/sq.m.: With your P100K, you could buy 285 sq.m. This is big enough for a two storey bungalow with a small front yard or terrace. It is near the resorts and you can turn your house into a town house for rent at lower the price compared to hotels.

2. Lot in Corella @ P30/sq.m.: Your P100K could buy 3.33 Hectares (each hectare is 1,000 sq.m.). With this you can have a house, a plantation and an animal barn. Or perhaps a swimming pool since it is away from the sea.

Need more comments on this.

Chorus:
Tohoi intawn ako,
Salig sa gi saad ko
Gugma kining way pagkalaya
Bisan isapnay sa luha

Jokes and Humor / Do you know Dan Torres of Bikol?
June 09, 2008, 06:09:17 AM
Do you know Dan Torres of Bikol?

'Pay first.' sabi ng attendant.
Lalong namutla si Dan! 'Patay!
York
'AT&T May I help you?' sagot ng operator.
Pinagpawisan ng malamig si Dan! 'Pati operator

Are you done?'
Napatitig na lang si Dan sa pulis! 'Kilala niya
ako? Alam niyang DAN ang pangalan ko!'
sa isip-isip nya. Nang di makasagot si Dan, tinanong uli
sya ng
pulis, 'Are you a tourist?'
pulis at sabi 'Be cool!'
'Inang ko po! Alam din nyang taga Bicol ako!
WAAAHHHH! Uuwi na lang ako sa 'pinas!'

Again this can be traced back to its root cause which is "vote buying" (as repeatedly stressed by Grazie), where we gave the wrong characters the opportunity to unleash their self centered evil.

Once again, allow me to say my famous words "Eco-tourism and Industrialization can not be mixed". One false move or a simple human error could be a cause of a major oil spill that could turn our white sand beaches into black.

Moreover, it is not oil alone that comes out of the pipe, but "Natural Gas". Natural Gas is poisonous if inhaled and it can kill you instantly. It has to be contained in tanks or burned into the atmosphere. If you happen to see an oil rig, the one that is burning on top is Natural Gas being burned to neutralize it's poisonous effect, but it smells like plastic. I am fed up of the unhealthy air in Saudi. I don't want to see the same ugly Oil Rig when I come home.

Tourist comes to Bohol to breathe fresh air. Please before its too late.

Same year pod among ig-agaw nga forest guard sa Bilar nakakita ug nag lupad nga lamdag kuno kaayo gikan sa lasang paingon sa Sikatuna mga 4:00am. Ingon niya mura kuno ug dakong hugpong sa aninipot. Dili pa uso ang UFO adtong panahona.

Graze,

Once again, I congratulate Jollibee for winning the business war.
