He he he, you know it is an internal blessedness one feels when one can find a place for quiet discernment and prayer. Glad to know that you found it at Matina. Now thinking of it, Jenneth, its been a while since I had a "soul searching" experience where I had quiet contemplation. Your weekend experienc is quite inspiring!

addendum: i remember one time i did my gynecology rotation. the first patient i had was a woman with vagina yeast infection. it was like cauliflower growing out of her vagina. and the crustations were continuously falling off. the attending M.D told me and my partner, "okay, go ahead and inspect the patient's yeast infection."

i smiled and proceeded to inspect, but in my mind i was saying, "jawaaa pod ni uy. ngano ako man pod."

ha ha ha !

i thought he was looking for pin worms or hemorrhoids because he has no medical instrument. ;D

Prior to inserting the proctoscope, isles, we usually do an external exploratory proctoscopy, then, we will insert the proctoscope. External examination will allow us to identify external hemorrhoids first, and the insertion of the proctoscope will allow the physician to identify internal hemorrhoids, which is usually the source of anal bleeding.

In regards to external hemorrhoids, we usually remove them vis-a-vis hemorrhoidectomy. For internal hemorrhoids, depending on the severity, one can treat it via hemorrhoidectomy or hemorrhoidoplasty.

That procedure is called exploratory proctoscopy. The one performing the proctoscopy is a Proctologist, a Medical Doctor who specializes in treating disorders of the lower digestive tract, the anus, rectum.

It looks like he is inspecting external hemorrhoids. If it is external hemorroids, then the Medical Doctor will perform a surgical procedure to remove the hemorroids called hemorrhoidectomy.

So I am preparing adobong manok the way my Nanay Millie used to make it. Trim the drumsticks and the wings (remove the fat), marinate it with soy sauce, datu puti vinegar, crushed black peppercorns, garlic powder , crushed garlic, dry bay leaves, some olive oil, some aniz seads. I have to have this marinate for a day. So tomorrow morning (at 4-5 AM, i'm gonna cook this).

I don't know about tomorrow
I just live from day to day
I don't borrow from the sunshine
For the skies may turn to grey
I don't worry all the future
For I know what Jesus say
And today I'll walk beside Him
For He knows what lives will be
Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand

Every step is getting brighter
As the golden stairs I climb
Every burden is getting lighter
Every cloud is silver lined
There the sun is always shining
There no tears will be in the eye
At the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky
Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand

Steps and technique

Most of the movements in belly dancing involve isolating different parts of the body (hips, shoulders, chest, stomach, etc.), which appear similar to the isolations used in jazz ballet, but are often driven differently. Correct posture and muscle control is as important in belly dance as it is in other fields of dance.

In most belly dance styles, the focus is on the hip and pelvic area. Due to the diversity of styles and 'origins' of the dance, many of the moves are referred to by a wide variety of different terminologies. However, from an observer's point of view bellydance includes certain key elements.

Important moves are:

Shiver or Shimmy â€" a shimmering vibration of the hips. This vibration is usually layered onto other movements to create depth in performance. The simplest shimmy is created by moving the knees past each other at high speed, but contractions of the glutes, thighs or lower back may be used instead to create different qualities of movement. The shimmy can be performed in different directions - up and down, side-to-side, or in a forward and back swinging motion. The same move can be performed using the chest and shoulders, sometimes called a shoulder shimmy.

Hip hits â€" A staccato movement of the hips out from the body. This can also be performed using other body parts such as the shoulders or chest. The move is usually achieved by isolating the hip area and contracting the glute muscles to move the hips up or down. The dancer's weight can either be distributed across both legs or on one leg with the toes of the other foot pointed.

Undulations
â€" Fluid movements of the hips or of the chest and abdominal muscles in a circular or rotating fashion. There are a wide variety of movements of this kind, of which the most well known is probably the rotating movements of the chest forward, up, back and down to create the impression of riding a camel.

The Costume:

The bedlah style includes a fitted top or bra (usually with a fringe of beads or coins), a fitted hip belt (again with a fringe of beads or coins), and a skirt or harem pants. The bra and belt may be richly decorated with beads, sequins, braid and embroidery. The belt may be a separate piece, or sewn into a skirt.

Badia Masabni, a Cairo cabaret owner, is credited with bringing the costume to Egypt, because it was the image that Western tourists wanted.

The hip belt is a broad piece of fabric worn low on the hips. It may have straight edge, or may be curved or angled. The bra usually matches the belt and does not resemble lingerie. The classic harem pants are full and gathered at the ankle, but there are many variations. Sometimes pants and a sheer skirt are worn together. Skirts may be flowing creations made of multiple layers of one color sheer fabric chiffon.

is the style more familiar to Westerners, performed in restaurants and cabarets around the world. It is more commonly performed by female dancers but is also sometimes danced by men. It is a solo improvisational dance, although students often perform choreographed dances in a group.

Belly dance was popularized in the West during the Romantic movement of the 18th and 19th centuries, when Orientalist artists depicted romanticized images of harem life in the Ottoman Empire. Around this time, dancers from Middle Eastern countries began to perform at various World's Fairs, often drawing crowds in numbers that rivaled those for the science and technology exhibits. It was during this period that the term "oriental" or "eastern" dancing was first used. Several dancers, including the French author Colette, engaged in "oriental" dance, sometimes passing off their own interpretations as authentic.

Jenneth, I'm sorry that you experienced a break up with your bf.

Honesty is key in any relationship, Jenneth, and if there is no honesty, there is nothing. Its like building a house; to build a really good house, you have to set a house's foundation on solid ground. Never on sifting sand.

Being with a person who is a liar, an untrustworthy individual is like building a house on sand. So, good job on dumping that guy who was being duplicioutous with you. You deserve better than that. You're worth more than that.

Don't let him back if he's a liar and untrusworthy. If the did it once, they'll do it again. I know you'll find a better guy ; a quality guy. I'm a firm believer that God will send someone along the way to complement you.

i cannot believe that i can no longer negotiate a 100-meter dash run when i used to be a good runner enough to be a contestant in this field, nor play bowling (doctor's advice for my bad back), or even climb six flights of stairs without stopping midway to catch my breath.  how fast time flies, but it seems i have flown faster in age.  there, there, now i'm telling myself not to regret anything...

Ah, but my dear isles, age is nothing but a number. If you never told me how old you are, just by reading your posts--- the fiestyness of your postings would deign me to guess you are still in your early 20's or even -- ehem, late teens. ;D

Yes, Bran.. Nahunahunaan na pod na nako while I'm soul-searching. I can't believe I am going 33 and still single hahahaha.. Whenever I see my niece growing up, I always tell her, "Baby, you're making your "Tata" (dili kalitok ug Tita) old.

Jenneth,

Paspas ra gajod kaajo ang panahon. Truly. I can still remember when I was still a child , karon, as I look at the mirror, its hard to believe I'm 27. But you know, after reading your personal anecdote, I guess age is nothing but a number. Even tho I am 27 , I still feel like I am 18 years old. Ha ha ha ! If you know what I mean. ;-)

And by the way, 33 is still young pa man. I guess we are in the same age group, Jenneth. In that late 20's, early 30's grouping. he he he!

Dont worry about being single. Just think -- you just haven't met the right guy yet. I'm sure you'll meet him soon.

Gotta keep on aiming to find that Quality guy, babe.

:)

Have you all ever wondered to yourself how fast time passes? As I sit here at my office, I cannot believe that I am already 27 years old. It feels as if it was just yesterday when I was just entering college as a freshman. This morning , as i talked to my younger brother Don Rico, who is 19, I was giving him advice on applying for medical internships for his pre-medical studies. I am very happy , tho, to know that my brother is following in my footsteps in entering the medical field. Ingon siya nako, "I want to be a Doctor just like you, Kuya!". Katawa pod ko dali, mao gajud ijang choice. And knowing Don Rico's excellent study habits, and his determination, I have no doubt that he will be a great doctor. In two years time he will be preparing for the MCATS (medical college admissions test), and i want him to start preparing for that exam now. This way, by the time he takes it, he will score Above Par and will get admitted into the best schools.

So I pray that he continues with this plan -- and that it bears fruit.

My little brother who in my mind i keep on thinking of as a baby is now already 19! Paspas ra gajod ang panahon. I am so proud of him for all of his achievements and because of his determination; as a student, as a worker, and as a brother.

He truly has grown up into a fine man. :)
