From a blog I started a few minutes ago...

http://frosmusic-foreignbrainmusic.blogspot.com/2010/03/stgenevievechoir.html

They wanted to be called a gospel choir. I told them "No, you're not!" "You're St. Genevieve's Choir," I insisted. End of story. (".)

That was many years ago, of course.

They love to sing gospel songs and they are very good at it. I wish they were purely a gospel choir coz they'll be good at it.

I see my self in them; they love music and they love to sing. The only difference between them and me: I'm comfortable with the same old songs I've learned when I was a youngster and don't tire of singing them. Them? They're more aggressive and open to learning new songs (which is really admirable)... only, sometimes to a point of learning too many in so short a time. End result? They never learn enough songs by heart.

I mean, second nature. Memorized that would last a lifetime.

Needless to say, that's just my personal observation. For all I know, they could be masters of what I haven't heard yet! (LoL)

While me? I bore myself to death even with just a single song... until that said song becomes me and I that song. Sometimes I feel like I'm the one - or wish that I was the one - who wrote that very song I'm trying to become. Get the drift?

Well, I'm not really that stagnant or stuck with the oldies. In fact I'm very open to creativity or newly "hatched" music... but that's because songwriting happens to be one of my most treasure gifts - or hobby - that I never seem to run out of new music. Even more so learning new songs all the time.

A Call To Christians - St. Genevieve Choir Rehearsal

A special "thank you" to St. Genevieve Chorus for accepting the request for the possibility of singing my original compositions at the celebration of my 25th to the Priesthood. To Mr. Ryan Rhodes, the music director, for tirelessly teaching the choir the music, almost all of which are "strange" to their hearing as many of them have been "shelved" for the longest time since their inception (LoL). Although a number of the tunes, like, "Glory To God," "Touch Of Heaven" and "Dear Jesus" are quite familiar to them and the parishioners as they have been taught and sung quite frequently in our parish. To all the choir members for deligently - and with enthusiasm - trying to "crammed" all the songs in so short-a-time that I didn't even bother to suggest how those songs are better expressed in singing. The choir had done enough and that was more than enough for me. And I really appreciate.

Believe it or not, I'm no proponent of perfect music. Don't get me wrong, I love good and great music. But I love it even more when people - choirs included - sing their hearts out, without regard to the possibility of making mistakes or not singing the right tune. Even more when they empower people to sing and lead the singing... and they become just the congregation choir! (Do you believe it's possible?)

As far as loudness is concerned, I never forget what an old mentor used to say when I was in my previous parish in Metairie, "If you think you're out of tune, sing louder all the more!" I happen to share the same sentiment in terms of singing for God. Period.

That's what I call great music. Great church music!!!

If God would have envisioned perfect music to His praise and glory, He would have none to do with earthly choirs. The angels alone (Sola Angela bwahaha!!!) would have been perfect!!!

To be continued...

Somebody shared this with me today...

A Heart at Peace

A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones"
(Proverbs 14:30, NIV)

Did you know the best thing you can do for health is to set your heart at peace with God? Peace is such a powerful position. It is a position of life and strength. Peace literally means "to set at one again." In other words, we have peace when our minds and hearts are in alignment with the Word of God.

It's so easy to let the pressures and distractions of life pull our thoughts away from the Father. It doesn't take long before we are so focused on earthly things that we feel overwhelmed and all stressed out. But, we weren't meant to live anxious about life, we were meant to live in peace.

Today, choose to keep your heart at peace by staying focused on God the Father. Give life to your body by staying in agreement with Him. Let His peace guard your heart so that you can be equipped to live the abundant life He has promised to you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word which is life to my soul. I praise You because You are the Prince of Peace and give peace to my heart and mind. I choose to stay focused on You today. Thank You for guiding my every step. In Jesus' Name. Amen

The same is true sa 1st Mass kon asa gi-held. Limasawa of Leyte has been claiming it.

Pegafetta also mentioned ug boats nga dagko kaayo nga gi-described pa niya ang features niini.

Hehehehe.

Salamat sa info Gwargz... 1st time pajud nako nadungog ni nga kasinatian. It makes sense baja pod, after all, kana man jong mga artifacts ang paga basihan. Basin - basin ra nuon pod - dili jud to Limasawa as we all know it but "Le Masawa" or "La Masawa" (kanang imong ge mention na lugar) sa Butuan (like La Mujer, La Mesa... La Masawa, ahihihi)... pero - kay slang man pagka sulti sa Espanol wa tawon ma klarog dungog ni Noypi hahaha (wa pa rabay elementary school sa una) - mao nga ijang dungog nahimo "Limasawa." Mao nga nakaingon ko nga kanang imong "contention" makes more sense to me tungod sa giingon sa tagalog ug "malamang..." malamang o dakog chance nasayop lang pag dungog nila sa una.... and to make the long story stort, the rest is HISTORY!!! Limasawa (dili Le Masawa) became it!!!

In some other side.. let's take this example, di nako iadto ug lain, sarili nakong parents, syempre ang batasan sa bol-anon, forgive me if 'am wrong... bisan usahay wala.. magpa ka naa labi na kung may bisita moabot sa balay... manggawas tanan ang tinagoan para sa bisita, lamiang sud-an, katulgan hehehe... as in... as we grew up syempre buyag, onse mi ka buok.. naka realize ko and I even confronted my papa & mama, nganong unfair ang treatment, nganong ana...? we explained to them, that it should not be like that... we are your family.. kung unsay makaon sa bisita dapat makaon pod namo... kung mabuak nga plato sa bisita, nganong sartin ang amo? usahay plastic pa.. but those were the days....hahahaha. sukad niadto naksabot sila papa, happy mi pag may bisita kay makatilaw napod mi'g lami nga pagkaon hahahaha.... ang nahitabo as we go on our everyday life.... mutual na tanan... pero in fairness... mababait talaga ang papa-mama namin, ikaw ba'y molangyaw sa layong lugar balon ang kasakit sa dughan... biyaan ang Bohol, yutang natawhan.. alang sa maayong ugma sa mga kabataan... di gyod ni lalim nga  misyon... dinhi gipamatud-an sa akong mga guinikanan.. bisan tua na sila sa laing kalibutan nga .. PAMILYA.... una sa tanan.... bow (mra'g na rhyme nako ah...) :D

Actually, 'am looking forward to visit pangangan (Calape) once again, by that time siguro kuyog na nako akong family.... sagdi lang ug wa nang mga punoan, 'am sure enough nga naa pa ang mga sanga..hehehe... daghan kog kamingawan didto... kinilaw nga ba't, swake, tuyom, saypo, saliot nga yanuhon rag sawom sa akong ig-agaw sa Mantatao island, ang kasag nga mora la'g sensilyo nga gikuot sa akong 'agaw sa bangag..hahaha.. very memorable. that's part of family bonding...

Thank you for expounding the statement of Stateville Aqua, pero di na na maoy akong gipangita na answer... nangutana ra man ko niya (Stateville) unsay iyang buot ipasabot sa "naay ubang tawo..." does she mean ubang tawo as in ubang member sa family ba (meaning, ubang tawo other than self) or ubang tawo as in uban gajong tawo (like silingan, ka lungsod, ka ila, etc). Because it makes a difference to me who we are talking about and normally I don't talk about other people unless I start with self. Do I make sense?

Of course, getubag rapod ni Stateville ang akong query in her next post. Thanks Stateville. That was my clarification.   :)

and this one's for laughs, if i may---

imagine also how our macho fil-am brothers would have felt if hasty generalizations apply in the u.s. in the case of the unlamented andrew cunanan.  (remember?)  what if it were said that, with exceptions of course (the usual apology), fil-am machos tend to be gay gigolos?

ugh.  (with due respect to gianni versace... and to all of you there, fil-am machos.  this is just that, a mere supposition.  what disappoints or hurts jelly bean could disappoint and hurt us too.)

Unsa na headline? FILIPINO GIGOLO IN FLORIDA CONVICTED OF MURDERING FASHION MAGNATE GIANNI VERSACE!??

Aw kung naay Pinoy version of Jellybean siguradong mag yawyaw pod... joke joke joke.

Luoy baya pod si Jellybean kay maski unsa pa niyag duot iyang ulo pagsabot sa atong kinaiyahan ug kabuang, di jud nija maapas. In fairness to you Jellybean, your ignorance and unfamiliarity to our culture, customs as well as our "dry" sense of humor, coupled with some of our stubborness... makes it really difficult or even impossible for you to even comprehend what we're trying to say. Much less follow our trends of thought. Yes, you're right here JB, in the US when you say black it means black, no is no, yes is a yes. In the Philippines (Bohol especially which is surrounded by water) we have what we call "istorya ilawom sa dagat" (talk under the sea). Close to not talking in absolute terms..., meaning, we get OT (out of topic) easily but we know how to come back and get out of trouble... we spice things up a bit to get out of monotony of a topic or subject - and inject all kinds of thoughts, some harmful but with no intention to hurt (although sometimes our tactlessness do hurt)... sexual overtones and undertones but with smilies in them, etc.

In short, most people here at TB are not hardened criminals or what-have-you. They're just people trying to have fun over at the internet... expressing their thoughts, feelings or what... and we don't even know what part of the world they are from. Yes, we do have Boholano lineage - most of us if not all - but we're not bad people as you have insinuated or blatantly call us at times (that trigger not-so-good-thoughts), which naturally - without reservation - is pure speculation or simply a blatant accusation. I'm religious, yes, but I'm no messiah. I won't let anyone throw stone at me (unless I wear a hard hat). But admit it, you yourself got carried away way too easily because of just one word "foreigner" the writer of the article we don't even know. Maybe we should stone the media man, hahaha.  ;D

Believe it or not, NO! They are not thankful and they are very demanding. They (the Americans) that we helped, they think it's their constitution-given right to be afforded help even from a private group (not even an agency) such as us. Instead of saying "thank you" they get mad and throw all kinds of **** at us when we're only trying to help.

So now what do you say? We the Boholanos/Filipinos are ungrateful as can be and we're the weidest people in all the earth? Because all we do is kept asking for help and not say thank you? Well, that' where I bloody defend my homeboyz to my utmost stubborness!!!

We eat dogs too even if they're bisaya... see, we're not choosy at all and we don't pick on foreigners alone. It seems like we pick on anyone worth picking. Sometimes they pick on me too!!!  ;D

Oh, btw, the movie "She's Out Of My League" is hilarious. I went to see it tonight. Patalastas from Dreamworks!

Kabuotan ba ni Lindy oy, sija man nuon nagpasalat og nangayog pasayloa para sa mga irong bu**** hehehe.  Here's an article a friend of mine emailed me about public apology... it goes beyond Tiger Woods.

Too Many Apologies

By Thomas Sowell

Tiger Woods doesn't owe me an apology. Nothing that he has ever done has cost me a dime nor an hour of sleep.

This is not a plea to be "non-judgmental." I am very judgmental about all sorts of things, including Tiger Woods' bad behavior. But that is very different from saying that he somehow owes me an apology.

For all I know, my neighbors may be judgmental when I drive out of my driveway in a 15-year-old car. But they have never said anything to me about it, and I have never offered them an apology. This is not equating driving a 15-year-old car with what Tiger Woods did. But the point is that any apology he might make should be made to his family, who were hurt, not to the public, who might be disappointed in him, but not really hurt.

Public apologies to people who are not owed any apology have become one of the many signs of the mushy thinking of our times. So are apologies for things that somebody else did.

Among the most absurd apologies have been apologies for slavery by politicians. For one thing, slavery is not something you can apologize for, any more than you can apologize for murder.

If someone says to you that he murdered someone near and dear to you, what are you supposed to say? "No problem, we all make mistakes"? Not bloody likely!

Slavery is too serious for an apology and somebody else being a slaveowner is not something for you to apologize for. When somebody who has never owned a slave apologizes for slavery to somebody who has never been a slave, then what began as mushy thinking has degenerated into theatrical absurdity-- or, worse yet, politics.

Slavery has existed all over the planet for thousands of years, with black, white, yellow and other races being both slaves and enslavers. Does that mean that everybody ought to apologize to everybody else for what their ancestors did? Or are the only people who are supposed to feel guilty the ones who have money that others want to talk them out of?

This craze for aimless apologies is part of a general loss of a sense of personal responsibility in our time. We are supposed to feel guilty for what other people did but there are a thousand cop-outs for what we ourselves did to those we did it to.

Back in the 1960s, when so many foolish ideas flourished simply because they were new, a New York Times columnist tried to make the case that we were all somehow responsible for the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

That was considered to be Deep Stuff. It made you one of the special folks when you believed that, instead of one of the rest of us poor dumb slobs who believed that the man who shot him was responsible.

For more than a century, the intelligentsia have been trying to get us to focus on the "root causes" of crime-- supposedly created by "society"-- instead of locking up thieves or executing murderers.
If some people don't have the money or the achievements of others, that too is society's fault, in the eyes of those for whom personal responsibility is an outmoded idea.

Personal responsibility is a real problem for those who want to collectivize society and take away our power to make our own decisions, transferring that power to third parties like themselves, who imagine themselves to be so much wiser and nobler than the rest of us.

Aimless apologies are just one of the incidental symptoms of an increasing loss of a sense of personal responsibility-- without which a whole society is in jeopardy.

The police cannot possibly maintain law and order by themselves. Millions of people can monitor their own behavior better than any third parties can. Cops can cope with that segment of society who have no sense of personal responsibility, but not if that segment becomes a large part of the whole population.

Yet increasing numbers of educators and the intelligentsia seem to have devoted themselves to undermining or destroying a sense of personal responsibility and making "society" responsible instead. Aimless apologies are just one small symptom of this larger and more dangerous attitude.

No I'm not stressed out like you Jellybean. I've been doing it for years and will continue to do it. As far as Philippines is concerned, I do help a lot of people there and send kids to school. I helped build churches or renovate some. I send books to schools who needed them. Quietly and humbly... but FYI for you.

Anyway, if your burnt out, or hated the fact that they talk about other foreigners (esp. that Japanese manyakes bwahehehe) just pack your bag and go home... simple as that. Go where appreciation is non-Biblical!!!

I have not read one of you saying how you help Americans who are less fortunante or the other Filipinos living in foreign places I have yet to hear your helping that countries indigenant persons on your own time and dime?

24/7 I helped people of the United States who cannot pay their electric bill, house rental, water and other utilities (both Afro-Americans and Caucasians). Luckily I have a St. Vincent de Paul, people who volunteer to help take care of the needs of the less fortunate. My only fault, I stooped down to your level (of letting you know what we do). But just to let you know. Even the United States have the poor and they need help... you should have stayed and help them, instead of bragging about your little $300 a week to help indigent Filipinos.

And what do you get in return for all these goodies/dole outs that you make in the Philippines? I'm just asking. Are you really doing this because of your kind-heartedness? No vested or personal interest? What about the comfort of living as a foreigner in a Third World country, which you'll never receive when you're in America for the money that you spend? Now be truthful!!!
#11139
Jellybean, whoever you are, I'm already beginning to suspect the sincerity of your actions or so-called good deeds if that's the case. You want praises, your deeds are for others to see, it's all performances... that's hypocricy to the max. Just like you say it in the U.S. "that's my tax dollars!!!" As if you're personal tax dollars can build bridges, build a house or feed a multitude. Thank the government for pooling them together. They got the idea. The other sad truth is... they even complain about paying uncle Sam. Oh, boy!!!

You really believe you're the only person who extends a hand to the less fortunate? What a fake!!! Sorry but you're not even worth our time!!!

On an average month I spend close to 300 US dollars plus of my own time in helping the less fortunant here because of feeling so bad that these poor people cannot get help from their own countrymen most of the time.

I have seen a lot of aide and projects done by foreign countries but always balme the bad things happening here is on foreigners by the ones we are helping. Even in assemblies held for women and children and environment issues they are reporting foreigners are the blame...

Why do you not praise instead and give attention to the good things that foreigners have helped this country with...

Sometimes I want to give up on all my good deeds it gets me nowhere and nothing good is a result of it instead of praises foreigners helping here are so put down and I think I know why as there are many here who cannot do what we do. So we are thrown insults instead of thank you's...

So many foreigners have stopped giving financail support in helping the poor here for the simple fact it is never ending with more and more people asking alms more than one time in a day...

Does anyone get what I am barking at yet? or does anyone care?

I hear you. In fact we heard you (loud and clear) but it's really you who's mouthing all kind of stuff (almost unbecoming of a decent and rational person you're supposed to be) all because you misunderstood this thread point blank. If you look at the title "Japanese In Bohol Deported For Marrying Twice" you got soooooo sensitive. Are you trying to say you want the media to beat around the bush? For what, reasons of sensitivity? The only reason - and you can take that to the bank - you're so sensitive is because you came from that culture where you have to be sensitive. Why? Because from the perspective of that culture, you have to, because of your storied past (i.e. slavery). Not to mention you have to be politically correct in every word that you utter. Forgive me but in the Philippines, that's all BS. There's no lukewarm in this part of the globe... you're either hot or cold. You're either rich or poor. You're either involved or uninvolved. They either like you and let you live, or don't like you and salvage (kill you, make you disappear) you. Tough luck!!!    :'( :'( :'(

We say it as it happens and we could care less what other races call it!!! If you feel like this forum represents the whole Pinoy Nation, you better get out of here quick... because it will never stop. That's why we call ourselves "mga ti-aw." Kusog "maniaw." POPE DECLARED YEAR OF THE PRIEST TO INSPIRE SPIRITUAL PERFECTION

Pope Announces Special Year Of Priests

By Carol Glatz
Catholic News Service

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Pope Benedict XVI declared a year of the priest in an effort to encourage "spiritual perfection" in priests.

The pope will open the special year with a vespers service at the Vatican June 19 -- the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the day for the sanctification of priests. He will close the celebrations during a World Meeting of Priests in St. Peter's Square June 19, 2010.

The pope made the announcement during an audience March 16 with members of the Vatican Congregation for Clergy.

He met with some 70 participants of the congregation's March 16-18 plenary assembly, which focused on the missionary identity of the priest and his mission to sanctify, teach and govern.

During this jubilee year, the pope will also proclaim St. John Vianney to be patron saint of all the world's priests. At present he is considered the patron saint of parish priests.

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the death of this 19th-century saint who represents a "true example of a priest at the service of the flock of Christ," the pope said.

St. John Vianney is widely known to Catholics as the Cure (parish priest) of Ars who won over the hearts of his villagers in France by visiting with them, teaching them about God and reconciling people to the Lord in the confessional.

In his address, Pope Benedict said the priestly ministry consists of total adherence to the ecclesial tradition of participating "in a spiritually intense new life and a new lifestyle which was inaugurated by the Lord Jesus and which the apostles made their own."

Priestly ordination creates new men who are bestowed with the gift and office of sanctifying, teaching and governing, he said.

The pope underlined the necessary and "indispensable struggle for moral perfection which must dwell in every authentically priestly heart."

The pope said he was calling for the special year for priests in an effort to foster the priest's yearning "for spiritual perfection, upon which the effectiveness of their ministry principally depends."

"The awareness of the radical social changes over the past decades must stir the best ecclesial energies to look after the formation of priestly candidates," the pope said.

This means great care must be taken to ensure permanent and consistent doctrinal and spiritual formation for seminarians and priests, he said, specifying the importance of passing down, especially to younger generations, "a correct reading of the texts of the Second Vatican Council, interpreted in the light of all the church's doctrinal heritage."

Priests must also be "present, identifiable and recognizable -- for their judgment of faith, their personal virtues and their attire -- in the fields of culture and charity which have always been at the heart of the church's mission," he said.

"The centrality of Christ leads to a correct valuation of ordained ministry," he said, adding that, without priestly ministry, there would be no Eucharist, no mission and even no church.

Therefore, he said, it is crucial to make sure that new bodies or pastoral organizations are not set up "for a time in which one might have to 'dispense with' ordained ministry based on an erroneous interpretation of the rightful promotion of the laity."

"This would lay the foundations for further diluting the priestly ministry, and any supposed 'solutions' would dramatically coincide with the real causes of the problems currently connected with the ministry," he said.

1
A priest forever, a priest for life
Called to serve, to live and die.
Through many years and happy tears,
God's joy abounds, His grace supplied.

2
A priest for always, a priest I am,
In poverty I am to be;
A good example for all to see -
Salt of the earth, light to be seen.

Chorus:
You called me to proclaim your goodness to the world,
Make peace with everyone, uniting all as one;
May all the sacraments, in your most holy name,
Lead us to holiness - the mark of priestly bliss.

3
A priest for Christ, a priest for love,
A priest for all, that's who I am;
One blessed vision in Christ our God
For all his chosen, anointed hands.

(Repeat Chorus 2x)

Coda:
May all the sacraments, in your most Holy Name,
Lead us to holiness - the mark of priestly bliss.

Beautiful!

I love it. F A M I L Y (father and mother I Love You)

Amen, God bless our mothers and fathers. The Family and a strong united FAMILY is a blessing of the LORD!

God speaks to us about the importance of Family, indeed, in Holy Scripture:

“These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).

“And fathers, don’t stir up anger in your children, but bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4).

“Honor your father and your mother so that you may have a long life in the land that the Lord your God is giving you” (Exodus 20:12).

“Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing in the Lord” (Colossians 3:20).

Nicely put Enz. That's why we needed someone like you to appease our fears and wonderings. And doubts at worst. You have a strong sense of that Christian aroma that never seems to make sense the easy way (LoL). But you make it permeate everywhere... when you can sense insecurity and stubborness on our part. While the devil is advocating, you are fighting for truth and salvation!!! Thank you, St. Bran...  ;)

huy nalimot ka sa imong pamilya 'Der? kadako ana??? wahehehehe! peez 'Der!

Wa ko kalimot uy! Di to sila mabuhi kung makalimtan hehehe. I love my family to the max... pero it doesn't seem MUTUAL as my siblings' children start having their independent minds (esp. after maka graduate nag college)... mosukol naman gani usahay and show some disrespect for reason you may never be aware of. Mao nay giingon "Ug sa kalit lamang.... bang!" Maski pila pa ka Stephen Covey seminar imong atenan, when it's family (like Aquarius said), it cuts like a knife (sama sa kanta)... it hurts deeper and pains you more... when they act silly and stupid. And you start to wonder... makahinumdom pa kaha na sila nimo when you're gone? Basin kutog ras ilang mga ginikanan ilang manumdoman, esp. when each of their family expands. Basin kutob ras ilang immediate family??? Huh!

Nakabantay ba mo that as your family got bigger and older - and everybody start having children, and eventually grandchildren - sa kalit lamang, the once very closed-cuzins (1st and 2nd degrees) seem to become distant or more like an extended family...  as more clans (direct descendants of one family) are being established? Di na man gani hapit mag-ila ang mga ig-agaw... kay nahimo na lang nga paryente (LoL).

On a perosnal note, I still keep in touch with my cuzins and try as much as possible to have little get-togethers to keep the love-between-us alive... of course, together with your immediate family. Kay moabot ra jud ang panahon -whether we like it or not - nga magka layo jud ang once-very-close mag-agawan... kay iyahay namag tubo pod ang kada usa ka pamilya.

Unya mag-unsa man tong nipili ug kinabuhi nga di mosanay, waaaaaaaaaa!!! Di maapil sa ihap!!!! Who will take care of them and who will care for them when they grow old??? Huh!!!

The poem is so true... many a-times in our lives nahitabo jud ni. But we can't be sentimental all the way pod because in life, "hiram" (hinuwaman, lent) ra daw ta by God. God only lent us to our family, coz in heaven daw we become too busy to enjoy the face of God (huh!). For the Christian believer, somewhere in Scriptures Jesus also said, "My family: my mother, my brothers and sisters are those who hear the Word of God and act on it." While it's true (it's called hard reality I think) that when we're gone it's the family - blood relations especially, and others who are like family to us - who feel the greatest loss, but in due time, they too would soon forget us, and/or they start dying too... while the rest of the world goes on living. Maajo lang untag ala Jose Rizal pod ta (if we left enough good legacies) kay at least, for a time (not all the time) they will remember us - maybe from Grades 1 to 6, when kids still believe in fairy tales and/or dependent on what their parents and teachers say - until such time when they (the future young people, be it family or not) turn to teenage life and/or become college students... then balik napod sa sugod (vicious cycle)... like many, at the present time, they once again become engrossed with themselves only, their personal challenges and basically life all around them. Sad to say but it's true. Di na man gani motoo ni Jose Rizal & co. inig ka edaran na and what he stood for. Siguro maghuwat napod tag pila ka tuig - inig ka guwang2x napod nila - when they realized how much time had passed and took for granted. And that we need to teach those fairy tales and histories to guide us at least when our minds are still open to such things.  LoL. Sori jud kung naglibog mo but I hope I made sense. Call it my personal rumbling (not even an opinion, hahaha). I'm just really wondering what's ahead of us. We can only hope for something good, I guess!

Hubs: pareho diay ta I pour less into my work... but I don't have a family like you do!!! Bwahehehe!!!  ;D

My grandfather died four years ago. He was the best grandfather ever. I was really close to him even if he stayed in Jolo and I live in Bohol. I was already here in China when we got the news that he passed away. It was quite a shock to us because he just recovered and was very healthy that time. When i heard about his death, no tear ever came out .... and until now, i cannot shed a tear for him. I have not even mourned for his death... Is there something wrong with me?

I don't think there's anything wrong with you... that's all I can say. I buried one of my grandfathers (I missed the one on my father's side), both my grandmothers and my mother. To my surprise, wa na sad ko makahilak not like when we were still holding on sa himatyon pa sila (kadto nuoy maoy kuyaw and cried a lot of tears). Di sad ko ka explain why... in retrospect, I tell a lot of people, maybe, mao na toy summation sa atong pagtoo: faith in everlasting life, in a God who is good and who loves us no matter what and so forth. Personally I don't ask a lot of questions and rack my brain looking for answers.... I simply place myself on God's mercy and providence. And He does provide!!! I hope ning akong tampo makatabang pod gamay sa imong gibati...

Addendum: maybe this is what we call maturity and the acceptance of the reality that one day we will all be caput!!! Or ngani jud siguro ning nagka tiguwang na bwahahaha!!! (Sowee for the pakatok)

Here I Am - Romeo Mascariñas

HERE I AM

http://frosmusic-foreignbrainmusic.blogspot.com/2010/03/hereiam.html

Words by J. Roel Lungay

Music by Romeo Ceniza Mascariñas

Performed by Romeo Mascariñas

1
I can hear the silence
When I walk into the room;
I can feel the cold air
When there's really no one there.
It's almost like a whisper
When I heard you call my name;
I see light from a distance
And rain does start to fall.

2
I can see some shadows
In a darkened room;
I can sense emotion,
I can smell your breath.
Suddenly there's movement,
Suddenly there's life,
Suddenly I see you;
I hear music in the air!

Chorus:
Here I am, here I am.
Here I am right before your eyes.
Here I am, here I am.
Yes, I am... I am, I am.
I am music, music is what I am!

(Ad Lib 1)

3
I long to write some music,
I long to reach your heart;
Pouring out some melodies,
Like an angel by your side.
Nothing more I love to hear
Just to see you there;
Nothing more I ever dream
Than kiss your hair.

Chorus:
Here I am, here I am.
Here I am right before your eyes;
Here I am, here I am.
Yes, I am... I am, I am
I am music, music is what I am.

Bridge:
I am here with you
(Here I am, here I am)
Love to be with you
(Here I am, here I am)
Anywhere with you
(I will go be with you)
Everything is new
When I really am with you.

(Ad Lib 2)

Mao nay giingon sa akong maestro sa college sa una... kung di kitay mosugod ani, di jud ni mamahimong tinuod. It will never become a reality. Lami jud unta ning mga ideaha, ug daghan tang ikasugyot (labi na tong mga naka travel), apan ang pangutana who will do all these things in Bohol? Kay lain man pod ang ilang priorities sa atoa ug very limited pod ang budget. So pa trail2x sa lang ta, pa beach2x, pa langub2x ug uban pang ikahatag sa nature kay wa pa tawon sud ang bulsa ug coffers. Hahahaha.   ;D

Here I Am - Romeo Mascariñas

HERE I AM

http://frosmusic-foreignbrainmusic.blogspot.com/2010/03/hereiam.html

Words by J. Roel Lungay

Music by Romeo Ceniza Mascariñas

Performed by Romeo Mascariñas

1
I can hear the silence
When I walk into the room;
I can feel the cold air
When there's really no one there.
It's almost like a whisper
When I heard you call my name;
I see light from a distance
And rain does start to fall.

2
I can see some shadows
In a darkened room;
I can sense emotion,
I can smell your breath.
Suddenly there's movement,
Suddenly there's life,
Suddenly I see you;
I hear music in the air!

Chorus:
Here I am, here I am.
Here I am right before your eyes.
Here I am, here I am.
Yes, I am... I am, I am.
I am music, music is what I am!

(Ad Lib 1)

3
I long to write some music,
I long to reach your heart;
Pouring out some melodies,
Like an angel by your side.
Nothing more I love to hear
Just to see you there;
Nothing more I ever dream
Than kiss your hair.

Chorus:
Here I am, here I am.
Here I am right before your eyes;
Here I am, here I am.
Yes, I am... I am, I am
I am music, music is what I am.

Bridge:
I am here with you
(Here I am, here I am)
Love to be with you
(Here I am, here I am)
Anywhere with you
(I will go be with you)
Everything is new
When I really am with you.

(Ad Lib 2)

(Repeat Chorus)

(Ad Lib 3)

Bwahaha. As for white lies, they are within the purview of reason #4. Mapugos lang tawon ta, unsaon, magtuo man ning mga baje gud nga everything we do is always in relation to the relationship.

As Lord Byron put it--somewhat too chauvinistically for my taste, though--"Man's love is of man's life a thing apart; 'Tis a woman's whole existence."

Lawma mani kaajo... tinuod jud diay ka MDB cup of tea ni sa duha hahaha

But an altogether definition when when lying down in bed imagining... 'coz

It feels like a dream
A quiet I couldn't quite figure out just yet
A moment of silence that is
On a journey I know not the direction.

Peoples and machines moving thoughtlessly
in all direction -
No visible footsteps nor clear faces -
Nothing seems to make sense
Much like waking up at dawn for no reason at all.

The serenity just drowns on top of silence -
Silence incensed with movements -
I wonder if the gods have something to do
with all these
Quite precious it seems
I'm almost like sleepwalking.

This I conclude, I must be awake!
I must be home!
I must be where I need to be!
And want to be!
Where I dreamt to be...
And love to be...

Not sleeping but awake!

My Tagbilaran City!

Or shall I say, my definition of Tagbilaran City... hah!

Take it from me. Tagbilaran is truly a city that never sleeps contrary to some blogs that claim otherwise.

A city as buzzling as this locale Tagbilaran perhaps is more suited to be tagged as a 'compact city' in a province full of life and activities in general, but not a Sleepless-in-Seattle distinction of urbis plotted in some movies, nor a reputation NYC has had since time immemorial.

Nightlife considered - but not highlighted - this proud city can claim a comparable accolade as a widely-stopped and extensively-explored destination, whose tourism effort is second-to-none (whether it's at par with international standard is of course another issue) relative to its neighboring islands or cities: eight flights a day to and from the capital city of Manila, a flotilla of fast and pre-modern crafts mooring at its dockside, an endless sight of the so-called pumpboats or outrigger canoes (and motorized ones, too) conveying island-hoppers from one to the other, the seemingly infinite cavalcade of tricyles (they're truly inventive!) that could give you the impression of them either as nuisances or works of art (or perhaps even the Christian church's way of spreading God's good news), the always-streamlined versions of the old thames and open-sided buses (which are long gone!) and sights of endless procession of people like those you find in truly mega-cities, that sometimes you're almost tempted to scream and shout, "what-in-the-world-has-happened-to-this-place!" An ultra-modern version of a pueblo transformed into a ciudad almost in overnight fashion! Heck! There's no such thing anymore as peace and quiet, or people taking "siestas" in this otherwise ghost town that it used to be. But what a super-lovable place this place is!

Open-sided buses that were popular in the 50s, 60s, 70s and even 80s

Artistic and colourful tricycles with mostly a Saint's name or quotation from the Bible

Ergo, with just these facts I can already re-claim the idiosycratic reputation of Tagbilaran as a non-sleeping city.

While the locale population has long been influenced by the so-called "night wingers" (my personal definition of "bat" people), most of Tagbilaran's citizenry, I should say, are still a well-disciplined lot not too different from those who came from the provincial towns. They are mostly hard-day workingpeople who for the most part don't waste their time and pockets going around window-shopping and all (again it's an altogether different story for those born in the X and Millenia epochs). Or perhaps because of the country's economic woes, again, since time immemorial, the majority still avoid this luxurious habit of munching around what with this extensive lists of "tourists" food or cuisines you see everywhere, and yet most people could hardly afford to do so. Or perhaps it's their no-nonsense approach to life the fact that there are other pressing needs or financial obligations that are first and foremost on their list. It's true, while life is worth celebrating, the list of activities and celebrations are simply piecemeal.

My second ergo, needless to say, is that most people still hit the bed quite earlier than what most young people tend to do on a nightly basis.

As to the young generation of the era X and the Millenium, hitting the flat bed anywhere between midnight and jogging time at 4 A.M., needless to say is a far and strange thought to behold. It's a "cultural slang" that never seemed to have crossed their innocent minds. Kuno. Or perhaps they maybe just acting like adults asking the young but with a weird inexplicable look in their eye as if they've never been young or teen-agers once. Or is it that playful and youthful look too ignorant to fathom what some lie-ing-parents pretend to claim to have not gone through when they were their age? But, needless to say, these strange and vulnerable lots do really exist among us, much like the multitude that seem to scatter way deep into the night in mega cities like Hongkong, Manila or Bangkok. The so-called children of the night. Literally. These strange lots, however, are not the people I'm talking about... that make a city not sleep or what-have-you. After all, these people, too, will eventually succumbed to deep lethargy after you give them a few hours to find their way home. (LoL)

Tagbilaran - a city that never sleeps is an altogether different story and conversation. It's state of mind, so I've heard...
