Sayang, murag kaya unta e defend ni Hamilton to.

Rubens Barrichello made best of a heavy fuel load, superb tactics and a critical error from McLaren Mercedes to win the 57-lap European Grand Prix in Valencia, the tenth of his career and his first since Shanghai 2004. Wearing a tribute to the injured Felipe Massa on his crash helmet the emotional Brazilian took the chequered flag two seconds clear of pole-sitter Hamilton and in doing so moves second in the championship race, 18 points behind Brawn Mercedes team-mate Jenson Button...

Anyone can build and call it having a good "job" career no matter what kind of job he/she is into.  Individuals driven by goals and ambitions usually say they are having a good career.  These are corporate ladder climbers and they are ambitious and aggressive.

There are also inviduals who decide their career prior to experience.  These are mostly the intellectuals.  With their orientation, they knew in advance what and when to excel in a job. If they don't like,  they quit.    Most these people end-up teaching in colleges and universities and some run their own business.  They are the boss of their own world.

But for an ordinary "striver" person like me,  a good career is something of a balance time between family, work and hobby.  It's about working smart not hard.

As the old saying goes:

Suwat ni: Albrando Lucino Jr.

Tomorrow is just another day.
or is it?

Has it ever come across your mind that everyday is a blessing?
A blessing, for sure.

Each and everyday is a day of joy and glory,
each child born in a day,
each life cured by disease,
each graduation,
each marriage,
each anniversary,
each wedding proposal,
each eucharistic ministry,
each mass,
each spiritual awakening,
A blessing, for sure.

Each day a wife wakes up to her husband's caress,
each day a husband is embraced by his wife,
each day a son wakes up to his mother's call,
each day a father comes home to his family,
each day a daughter reads to her baby brother,
each laugh,
each cry,
each waking moment,
A blessing, for sure.

So make use of your day,
the past,
for the present,
for the days to come,
and always, always,
always, always
thank the ONE who gave you each day,
The Lord On High.
For
Each day is
A blessing, for sure.

Five signs nga ang lalaki nagkatigulang na:

1.      Layo ang panan-aw, nagkaduol ang pagpangihi.

2.      Molingkod magduka, naghigda dili makatulog.

3.      Nakadumdum pa sa nangagi, nalimtan ang karon.

4.      May gihuna-huna ang taas, walay mahimo ang ubos.

5.      Sa una gahi nga naghulat, karon maghulat kanus-a mogahi.   ;D

Arroyo spent P2.7B for foreign trips--solon

By Gil C. Cabacungan Jr.
Philippine Daily Inquirer
First Posted 11:01:00 08/14/2009

MANILA, Philippines -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo had spent P2.7 billion for her foreign trips since 2001, or P1.6 billion more than the P1.1 billion budgeted for the period, a lawmaker said Friday, citing what he said were records from the Commission on Audit.

In an interview with radio dzMM, Bukidnon Representative Teofisto Guingona said Ms Arroyo spent P722 million for foreign trips in 2008 alone, or nearly three times the P244 million allocation for the year.

Citing COA records, Guingona also said Ms Arroyo exceeded her P800 million contingent fund budget in 2008 by P120 million in alleged violation of government spending rules.

The 90/10 Principle

Author : Stephen Covey ( Management Guru)

Have you read this before? Discover the 90/10 Principle. It will change your life

(at least the way you react to situations). What is this principle?

10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react. What does this mean?

We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%. The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%.

How? By your reaction. You cannot control a red light., but you can control your reaction. Don't let people fool you; YOU can control how you react.

Let's use an example. You are eating breakfast with your family. Your

daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what just what happened. What happens when the next will be determined by how you react. You curse. You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the cup over.

She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your spouse and criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school. She misses the bus. Your spouse must leave immediately for work.

You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 40 miles an hour in a 30 mph speed limit. After a 15-minute delay and throwing $60 traffic fine away, you arrive at school. Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye. After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase. Your day has started terrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse. You look forward to coming home, When you arrive home, you find small wedge in your relationship with your spouse and daughter.

Why? Because of how you reacted in the morning. Why did you have a bad day?

A) Did the coffee cause it?
B) Did your daughter cause it?
C) Did the policeman cause it?
D) Did you cause it?

The answer is " D".

You had no control over what happened with the coffee. How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day. Here is what could have and should have happened.

Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say, "It's ok honey, you just need, to be more careful next time". Grabbing a towel you rush upstairs. After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase, you come back down in time to look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minutes early and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on how good the day you are having.

Notice the difference? Two different scenarios. Both started the same. Both  ended different.

Why? Because of how you REACTED. You really do not have any control over 10% of what happens. The other 90% was determined by your reaction.

Here are some ways to apply the 90/10 principle. If someone says something negative about you, don't be a sponge. Let the attack roll off like water on glass. You don't have to let the negative comment affect you! React properly and it will not ruin your day. A wrong reaction could result in losing a friend, being fired, getting stressed out etc.

How do you react if someone cuts you off in traffic? Do you lose your temper? Pound on the steering wheel? A friend of mine had the steering wheel fall off)

Do you curse? Does your blood pressure skyrocket? Do you try and bump them? WHO CARES if you arrive ten seconds later at work? Why let the cars ruin your drive? Remember the 90/10 principle, and do not worry about it.

You are told you lost your job. Why lose sleep and get irritated? It will work out. Use your worrying energy and time into finding another job. The plane is late; it is going to mangle your schedule for the day. Why take out your frustration on the flight attendant? She has no control over what is going on. Use your time to study, get to know the other passenger. Why get stressed out? It will just make things worse. Now you know the 90-10 principle. Apply it and you will be amazed at the results. You will lose nothing if you try it.

The 90-10 principle is incredible. Very few know and apply this principle.

The result? Millions of people are suffering from undeserved stress, trials, problems and heartache. We all must understand and apply the 90/10 principle.

It CAN change your life!!!

Ingon pa nila just "Search and replace".    ;D

Kadtong mga new classrooms nga gitukod kuwang pa man gihapon hangtud karon.

Translation:

I wonder if GMA suffers the same fate with that of former president Cory Aquino where people are praying for her  (fast) recovery.   I don't know if they'll do that to GMA.   :)

Hi Bedo,

I am in the middle of an important task, but couldn't keep myself from replying to this now. Maayo na lang I'm my own boss, wala'y mangasaba nako. You see, it's a rainy Monday (what worse combination can you get?) and I really need a lift-me-up for the week ahead. My son is leaving back for Bohol tomorrow, and I'll be alone again. Hopefully, I'll be joining my family for about 5 days in Bohol towards the end of this month.

I'm exactly in the same position as this guy when he called it "those were the days." I sent my family ahead of me, to see if they could adjust to the new clime and setting. After one year, everything is not perfectly smooth but they're getting by. Next year, I am thinking of moving there for good. Since I am self-employed and my work is consultancy and translation--the bulk of which can be done on the internet--I am now arranging a way for me to bring even half of my accounts and continue my work by internet, while teaching in one of the universities or colleges in Bohol for a few hours a week. I have anxieties that I may have to make major adjustments as far as level of comfort, but I decided I want out of the rat race and the bad economy.

I think we all come to a turning point, when we just say we're past the momentum and need a new impetus to move forward. When I was a child in Wao, near the boundary to Bukidnon, I spent weekends with my mother and sibling tilling the farm. We were poor but happy. I may not become the "Lettuce King" of Bohol, but I believe I'll be very happy to plant kamote in my backyard.

"According to them", Speaker Nograles was an investor of the Legacy group.  I don't know if this is true or not.

Ang amo dili covered sa PDIC but on the double your money scheme - high return high risk. Pwe !!!   :'(

Nice share there SiR Ben.

Livin' the good life is not fancy trips, and expensive jewels, and high brow country clubs.  Rather, livin' the good life is livin' the moment!

An inspiring story circulating many years ago that kept on nesting in my head  ;D.  It is a story of a successfull career oriented individual who honed and polished his consultancy skills abroad.  After a challenging and adventurous 25 years, he decided to call it  "those were the days" by going back to his native place in the province.   There he enjoyed the company of his family, his parents and love ones and going fishing almost everyday at the seaside, reading books and enjoying the sunset.  As time goes by he find solace, peace and happiness that he never had during his entire life.

One day his former boss arrived and convinced him to join him one more time for a long term project in Dubai.  The following transpired during their conversation:

John............ :  Would you join the group for a long term project in Dubai ?

Boholano.....:   I'm sorry John, I am already happy and contented here enjoying my life with my family.  I would definitely miss my fishing and staring this beautiful sunset.  Things that I missed before.

John............:   We'll you could do that and have all the time after 5 or 8 years when the project is completed!  And by then you go back here fishing with your family and do what you want to do in this wharf of yours everyday .

Boholano....:   Well if after 8 years that I'll be standing here again,  I might as well stay and enjoy the rest of my life.   I will surely miss what I'm enjoying  today.  I'm sorry John I can't join your group.

:)

Pa farming farming nalang (something that he loves)  ug mga vegetables ug nag  supply sa mga food chains in the Philippines and even abroad.  Karon pa golf golf nalang.   :)

Hello Sir Idmpol,

Ang strong ties nimo sa imong current location is your work and the length of service you are with this employer (in China).  Mao gyud ni imo e establish na mobalik gyud ka sa China (and in China/Philippines for your immediate families).

Yes, please secure an employment certification from your current employer stating your position, tenure and salary.

Purpose of travel?  Between attending a wedding AND attending an expo in the US, I would go for the latter (attending an expo).  Why?  It is most likely that you will be granted a visa for this purpose.   All you have to do is to secure an invitation from the expo organizer or an invitation from your US head office endorsing your participation on the said expo.  I've known people especially in the company I'm connected with right now and they pass with flying colors including their family members (wife, daughter, son) who are attending food & beverage expos in the US.

You could also use the reason for attending the wedding of your cousin. :)

Good luck,

Bedo

Sir BAS, gusto sab unta ko mo apply para tourist visa. naa koy cousin sa US nga nag invite nako sa iyang wedding next year. We live together in our grand parents ancestral home before nga niadto siya sa US so she's just like a sister to me. Lot of people told me nga mas maayo kuno kon sa akong employer ko mangayo.. Naa man ko sa furniture industry, nya every year duna may furniture show sa High Point which maoy akong ipahimo nga rason nga moadto ko sa US. Pwede ba? Salamat...

News advisory for those applying for a US tourist visa.

+---------

NEW NONIMMIGRANT VISA FEE PAYMENT SLIP EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2009

Beginning July 1, 2009, Citi and BDO will use new payment slips for nonimmigrant machine-readable visa (MRV) application fee payments.

Upon payment of the $131 MRV application fee, the bank will issue a new “US Embassy copy” of the bills payment slip which will be stapled to a blank DS-157 form. The BDO bills payment slip will have three copies. The copy on blue paper is the “US Embassy copy.” On the day of the interview, the Nonimmigrant Visa Unit will only accept the “US Embassy copy” as proof of payment of the $131 MRV application fee. If the slip stapled on the DS-157 form gets lost, the applicant will need to pay a new MRV fee.

All MRV fee payments made between May 25, 2009 and June 30, 2009 with the old bills payment slip will still be accepted. All MRV fee payments made before May 25, 2009 with a proof of payment validation at the back of the DS-157 form, which fall within the one-year fee validity, will also be accepted.

The DS-157 form is still a required document and must be submitted as part of the visa application.

AND are there reasons why Pacquiao will beat Cotto?

This fight is  a done deal according to some close associates of the Pacman here in our area and November 14  (15th in Pinas) is the scheduled fight date.

Speed kills and Manny has that speed to neutralize the hard punching Cotto.  Cotto is slow compared to Manny.  In terms of size, I'm giving Cotto the slight edge but the effort of going down in weight (catchweight between 143 to 145#) during the training is not good for him.  The fighting style of Cotto is tailored for Manny and I don't think the fight will last until the final bell.  Between Shane Mosley and Cotto, the latter is beatable and I think that's the reason Top Rank and team Pacquiao is choosing Cotto.  Manny has problems with a slick boxer and fortunately the aging Shane has the speed and power.  Though Cotto won over Shane Mosley, Mosley has the speed and power that can match Manny's skills.  That's the irony of boxing and according to boxing experts, style makes a fight.

My two cents.   :)

Hi Ms. Da,

No probs.  Organizing a get-together event is not a problem to me.  It's a matter of delineation or designating  a chair for each committee.   I had chaired three (3) successful golf tournaments for the rotary and I think I can handle this.  I'm looking forward to this event pag di ta ma AHINI.   Hehe.   A(h1n1).

Cheers!

Hi Madam,

Can you educate us further  on how this new system will eliminate election irregularities especially on vote buying ?

Did you happen to discuss how ready we are in terms of infrastructure resources (communication lines, hardwares, etc) and voter education for the automation of Philippine election ?   Like in a remote area in Bohol, how do we connect them to the datacenters for the processing and transmission of election results.  What are the contingencies just incase the communication lines are down or a computer unit is defective.  Are there back-up units that will be allocated say for Bohol just incase this happens?

Thanks,

Bedo
