here we go Koddz...

Hamis nga kudjamis sa baba pagka katam-is
Tuno nga kinupos sa pagkaon kita makapahimulos
Ug labaw sa tanan,
Tuba nga kinaham sa tutunlan kita makaigham.

Dear wife and to us husband as well we need to understand the difference between managing and budgeting.
Budgeting for me is only for your basic needs or necessities. You budget your money for your fare, food, clothing.
While managing for me is you have a separate account for all your specific purposes, whether its for your basic needs, business, leisure, etc

QuoteLapid admitted he would do anything to have a photograph with the most powerful man in the world.
I hope Id be lucky enough to be chosen among the five that would be allowed to accompany the President when she meets Obama, Lapid said in Filipino during a talk with reporters before the FilUSA dinner for Ms Arroyo at the Willard Hotel.
This will be my first time ever to meet a US president in person because I might not have the chance anymore. So I asked the President herself to sign me up on this trip.

General Topic / Re: Coffee or Tea
July 30, 2009, 05:09:04 PM
What are antioxidants?
Antioxidants are phytochemicals, chemicals found in plant foods. In our bodies, antioxidants protect healthy tissues from "oxidants," also called free radicals. Over time, free radicals can damage cells and cause disease. Antioxidants are like microscopic police officers who seize these bad guys that plan to harm our cells.

What's sweet about tea?
Tea leaves come from an evergreen plant called Camellia sinensis. The way the leaves are processed determines if they become black or green tea. All teas contain a group of antioxidants called flavonoids.

Tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world, next to water. Green tea is especially popular in Japan and China. But on any given day, only one in five American adults drinks tea, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association. That's a shame, because tea drinkers in the study took in 20 times more flavonoid antioxidants per day than tea non-drinkers. That's amazing!

Experts say tea provides as many disease-fighting flavonoids as fruits or vegetables. Many brands of tea list antioxidant and caffeine content (in milligrams per serving) right on the box.

Which diseases does tea fight?
Laboratory studies using tea and tea extracts on rats, mice, and human cells show promising results. They suggest that tea may reduce cholesterol levels, help prevent blood clotting, lower the risk of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, and even fight inflammation, cancer, and seasonal allergies.

Studies of tea-drinking humans suggest these possible health benefits:
  * Black and green tea may lower risk for ovarian cancer.
  * Green tea may reduce breast cancer risk.
  * Green tea may decrease death rates from heart disease.

Based on this evidence, perhaps tea ought to be the beverage of choice for women. For me, the fact that tea contains tons of antioxidants is reason enough to drink it, even if we haven't discovered all the disease-fighting benefits yet.

Which kind of tea is best?
Most herbal teas are not tea at all. They are made with roots, flowers, herbs, or spices and contain no tea leaves and therefore no tea flavonoids. A few herbal teas contain real tea leaves with added spices. Read the ingredients label to be sure of what you're drinking.

Researchers say green tea has more antioxidants because the leaves are less processed, but some people don't like its unique flavor. Since both black and green tea are antioxidant-rich, drink the kind you like best.

If green tea is new to you, blend it with black tea the first time you try it. Place one black tea bag and one green tea bag together in boiling water to make a large mug. Steep for three to five minutes, no more, to bring out the antioxidants but avoid a bitter flavor. I brew this blended tea every day using decaf tea, even though it's a little lower in flavonoids.

Hot brewing releases phytochemicals, so when making homemade iced tea, you may want to brew it and then add ice. When you're on the go, buying a bottle of iced tea is a good option, too. A comparison of convenience teas showed significant antioxidant content in major brands. Just be aware that most sweetened teas are loaded with sugar.

What's the scoop on coffee?
In the U.S., coffee is king of beveragesâ€"millions start the day with the aromatic brew. Researchers named coffee as the number one source of antioxidants in the American diet, partly because of the volume we consume. Black tea ranked second.

Coffee contains antioxidants such as quinines and chlorogenic acid. It also contains trigonelline, an anti-bacterial compound that contributes to coffee's delicious aroma.

Which diseases can coffee fight?
Research suggests coffee may lower the risk of liver cancer, colon cancer, Parkinson's disease, type II diabetes, and gout.

The jury is still out on whether or not coffee raises the risk of heart disease in some people. Research shows conflicting results, so more study is needed. According to the American Heart Association, one to two cups of coffee per day does not seem to be harmful. To be on the safe side, discuss caffeine intake with your doctor if you have heart disease or high blood pressure.

What about caffeine?
The caffeine content of coffee and tea vary depending on the size of your cup, what kind is used, and how it is made. An 8-ounce cup of brewed coffee has about 85 milligrams of caffeine compared to 40 milligrams in a cup of hot tea.

Caffeine stimulates the brain and nervous system to cause that pick-me-up feeling. But keep in mind that caffeine is a drug and should be limited to avoid overload symptoms. If caffeine keeps you up at night, switch to decaf in the afternoon.

New research links caffeine consumption with possible increased risk of miscarriage. So if you're pregnant, stick to decaf beverages and talk to your doctor about caffeine.

What about fruits and veggies?
Since coffee and tea are high in antioxidants, can they replace fruits and vegetables in our diets? Absolutely not! Fruits and veggies supply fiber, essential vitamins and minerals, plus a variety of different antioxidants that promote good health.

A word of caution
Plain coffee and tea are healthful, calorie-free beverages. Be careful how much cream, sugar, and flavorings you dump into your cup. Just 1 tablespoon of cream and 2 teaspoons of sugar can add up to 80 calories and 6 grams of fat. Squirt in flavored syrup, pile on whipped cream, and your once-healthful drink becomes a rich dessert.

Which is betterâ€"coffee or tea?
Science can't really say one is superior to the other, so fill your mug with whichever brew you like. To benefit from both sets of antioxidants, try this: drink one or two cups of coffee in the morning, then enjoy tea throughout the day.

The next time you warm your hands around a steaming cup, thank God for His gift of antioxidants. Bottoms up!

pila mo nga igsoon, delegate ang ubang trabaho sa mga relatives aron aduna kay free hand, kay ikaw man tingali ang mag-organize.
It is common to have renewal of vows, basin mosogot ang pari kon adto sa balay ang misa, with close families around, ug sa atong simbahan, daghang manokos sa imong handa, ma pordoy ka.
If you canvass some hotels for a long weekend with all inclusive for your parents, you might get some discounts kay ang September dili naman high season, these are my personal  opinion. God bless and good luck.

The Bedrooms
They should be sacred spaces where an adult or child can retreat and regenerate. We spend roughly one third of our lives in our bedroom, so maintaining balance and serenity in this area is essential.
1) Your bedroom should be a private room, hence not to be seen by guests and visitors.
2) Your bedroom should not be over the garage, where stagnant and low energy accumulates and moves upward causing health problems.
3) The bed should be placed in such a position that both partners can see the door, but no part of the bed should be right in front of the door.
4) Put beds in front of a wall so you have a strong support behind you. There should be a solid wall behind the headboard. There can be windows to the sides of the bed, but not right behind it.
5) Ideally, it will not be immediately opposite, above or below the bathroom, kitchen, next to the living room or children's playroom.
6) You should see your bedroom door from your bed.
7) Bedroom door facing another bedroom door. Tempers might erupt occasionally among the occupants. To solve this problem, place a bead curtain in front of the room door.
8) Avoid bedroom door facing kitchen entrance.Nonetheless, occupants of the room will be prone to accidents and minor injuries and if the problem persists over time, occupants might encounter major accidents. To solve this problem, place a windscreen, hang a bead curtain in front of the kitchen entrance, or change the location of the room door.
9) Elevate all beds, including children's beds, off the ground. Energy cannot flow freely under a bed that is not elevated.
10) Your bed should be the only big piece of furniture in your bedroom.
11) Make sure all bedside tables have rounded edges and not square to prevent cutting chi being focused towards the occupants. If two sleep in the bed, ensure matching beside tables on either side for added stability and protection in the relationship
12) Large MIRRORS - are not recommended in the bedroom, because they are not conducive to a restful nights sleep. Mirrors reflect light... light is Yang Chi, which is active energy. By reflecting light mirrors stir-up the Chi in the bedroom, where you want the Chi to be more Yin / still and restful. Besides, mirrors could reflect your bedroom activities to the neighbor. This would not create a feeling of security and safety in the bedroom. Plus, if the mirror is in your "Lonely Pillow" direction, it will cause you to be single.
13) A headboard symbolically adds the idea of solidity and stability to a relationship. A wooden headboard is better than a metallic one. A solid headboard is better than one with cutouts. Headboards with vertical ?bars ? are not recommended for the couple, as they are reminders of either cribs or prisons. Never hang anything cumbersome or heavy on the wall behind the headboard, only soft things that would not hurt anyone if they fell.
14) If you sleep with another, make sure your bed is symbolic of this relationship. Beds that are rickety or likely to fall part speak volumes about the state of the relationship
15) Avoid placing mirrors directly across from your bed.
16) Do not have too many windows in your bedroom, this will excite Chi.
17) An ideal bedroom should not have a mirror facing bed; the solution of the problem would be that you cover the mirror each night before retiring.
18) Bathrooms must not be seen from the bed. With bathrooms, it is a sanitation issue. Keeping the door closed or at least ajar is the simplest solution. Moving the bed would be another solution.
19) For the bedroom, avoid overly Yang colors such as red. Gold colors are also not good, since this can cause poor sleep. Try to incorporate relaxing and subtle colors instead. Dragon images are also not a good idea for the bedroom.
20) Avoid the use of synthetic materials, as well as electrical appliances in the bedroom.
21) Do not have exercising equipment in your bedroom
22) Do not store anything under your bed. This practice creates stagnant, blocked energy that can negatively impact you during sleep.
23) Avoid having too many electronics in your bedroom and keep nothing under the bed.
24) Favor earth tones and all colors that resemble skin tones, as they will create a warm feeling. This includes pink, brown, beige, yellow, cream, sand, etc. Have some accents in a shade or red, burgundy, or maroon, to add some fire to the relationship
25) To promote harmonious and fulfilling sexual communication, keep the energy in your bedroom fresh, healthy and sensual by using essential oils, crystals, and candles.
26) Have light tones in your bedroom. Keep it calm and relaxing after all, you spend a lot of time there with your partner.
27) Keep your bedroom tidy and your closet door closed. Remember, your bedroom should be relaxing, comforting and nurturing. The chaos of clutter degrades your ability to relax.
28) Only romantic artwork, photos or ornaments are welcome in the master bedroom, as well as pictures of the couple where they both look happy.
29) Place something beautiful that inspires you where you first look in the morning.

The Kitchen
It is referred to as the ?hearth? of the home. The vibrations in this room are important in the way that food is prepared and the residual affect. Yet it is not considered the most important part of the house since only an hour or less is spent there on a daily basis. Sometimes the location of a kitchen in a house can determine which family members will argue the most or if the whole house is vulnerable to a variety of mishaps.
1) For good feng shui, do not to have your kitchen close to the main door or to the back door, where the energy can easily escape.
2) Ideally, the kitchen should be in the back of the house, at least behind centerline of house. In any case, it is better if you do not see the kitchen immediately upon entering the house, as this can portend digestive, nutritional, and eating problems. Having the kitchen at the entry point can also mean that guests will come over and eat, and then, leave immediately, and such a placement can also encourage the inhabitants to eat all the time.
3) Your kitchen should not be in front of the toilet. If it is, then keep the door closed and he toilet lid down.
4) The heart of the kitchen is the stove and much emphasis is placed on its positioning. Take note that the stove:
a) Should not be directly in line with the front door
b) Should not be positioned directly under the window as it lacks support. If relocation is not possible then keep the blinds down while cooking.
c) Should not be place directly beside or in front of the fridge or sink since this create direct clash of the water and fire elements. You may place green crystals between them to act as a moderator.
d) Should be placed away from the direct line of door.
e) If you live in a 2-storey building, ensure the stove is not place directly below the lavatory.
f) Should not face the toilet.
5) For good feng shui, keep the kitchen simple and do not overload it with gadgets.
6) Round and smooth features--even subtle things like rounded corners on kitchen counters ? to promote the development and flow of positive energy.
7) The kitchen should have several levels of proper lighting, be airy and spacious, clean, bright and welcoming.
8) Choose colors that blend well and feel good together. Feng Shui-wise, color yellow is a good choice for the kitchen, as it is good for your digestion.
9) Use colors to brighten up the kitchen! The best colors for good Feng Shui are sunny Yang colors such as yellows, oranges, and reds for the kitchen and dining room. This encourages positive activity as well as promote good cheer and warmth between family and friends!

Other Interior Features
Interior architectural features can promote or impede the flow of positive energy and introduce or neutralize negative energy. A few pointers about interior features:
1) To prevent the introduction of negative energy into a house, avoid installing rough interior features such as rock walls, exposed beams and rafters, knotty wood wall paneling, vaulted ceilings, and oversized fireplaces. Also, avoid wedge-like, knifelike, and arrow-like ceiling and wall structures.
2) If you are planning a model for a new house, make sure that the front door of the house does not face the back door. If it is inevitable then put a screen between the two so Chi cannot flow out the house.
3) Avoid staircase right in front of the main door, which will direct Chi to the next floor ignoring the ground. If you are already in the situation then solve it with a mirror or chime.
4) Stairs should not be aligned directly with a heavily used entrance door. When they exist in the center of the house, the activity of moving up and down the stairs will stimulate the unseen potential of the house, for good or for bad depending on the uniqueness of the house. Stairs of any kind, indoor or out should be clean and safe to use. Dilapidated stairs and unstable railings are not good Feng Shui for obvious reasons.
5) The front door should not face a lamppost or a tree as this affects the flow of chi and the main back door should not face a bedroom, kitchen or toilet.
6) The main door size should be in proper scale to the rest of the house. If it is too large, it can cause financial difficulties. If it is too small, it can cause petty arguments.
7) If your front door is right below the stairs in your home, this is deemed inauspicious since bad Chi can collect in this area. Try relocating your main door to another spot, or simply place a lovely potted plant at the stair area.
8) Main door should have a protective roof.
9) Main door should be made of solid wood.
10) Main door should not be located under a toilet or bathroom.
11) Main door should not face a staircase or toilet.
12) Main door should have protective symbol but not “Pa Kua”.
13) Oiling doors so they will not squeak and to reduce irritation.
14) Make the energy move in your place add crystal balls on the ceiling.
15) Windows should always open properly and allow sufficient light or pleasant views into the room. To scale with the room, windows should be a defined height and width. It is not ideal to sleep with your head just inches from a window.
16) Ceilings are ideally flat, without severe slopes. The sloping ceiling will cause the flow of air currents in the room to be chaotic. This contributes to sleep problems.
17) Exposed ceiling beams are a problem if a person works or sleeps under them. Their downward pressure can contribute to health problems.
18) Never place furniture backing door. If that is the only option, put a mirror so you can see behind you.
19) Arrange furniture so that your back never faces a door. Your office door should be directly visible from your desk.
20) Separate pieces of furniture by 3 feet. Leaving space between pieces of furniture allows continuous flow of energy.
21) Fill up the dead area in the living room with plants, colorful pictures, pleasant sceneries or fish tanks.
22) Limit the use of accessories as they crowd space and reduce the flow of energy. Place pictures or paintings at eye level over a heavier piece of furniture.
23) Hallways are like the arteries of the house. They should be relatively bright and not too narrow or cluttered. A chronically dark hallway should have a skylight or artificial light on.
24) Ideally, hallways should not be excessively long, unless there are many rooms off the hallway where the doors can remain open.
25) Put mirrors at the end of hallways to minimize the feeling of a "dead end."
26) Bathrooms usually should not be in the center of the house or the first room your eyes land on when you enter your home.
27) Toilet should not be too close to a sleeping area.
28) Always keep the toilet lid down while not in use. It stops the money from going down the drains.
29) Keep brooms, mops and trash bins out of sight. It is important for family's well being and keeps intruders out.
30) Round dining room tables are best because circles symbolize heavenly blessings. Dining room chairs should be of an even number and comfortable to sit in. Dining room décor should be simple, so it does not distract from the food.
31) Do not place your Buddha statues and figurines in the kitchen or bedroom. The best places are the dining room, lounge or living room â€" basically, areas where family or friends converge. Do not place your Buddha on the floor, but place it on an elevated area.

THE FENG-SHUI OF BUILDING CHARACTERISTICS
The Building Characteristics branch of feng-shui studies the flow of energy within a structure, where it is carried in architectural features, exterior and interior.
Exterior Features
The feng-shui practitioner evaluates a building's overall shape using three main criteria:
Stability: Generally, a building's shape is thought of as stable if none of the levels is significantly larger than the others and if the structure does not rest on pillars.
Balance: A building is said to be balanced if it has a regular (i.e., symmetrical) shape.
Smoothness: A building is said to be smooth if it has no harsh, protruding features, whether vertical or horizontal. Houses shaped like triangles and those with knifelike edges also lack smoothness.
A building's appearance is also evaluated according to the principle of "resemblance." Buildings that resemble prisons, fortifications, and weapons are undesirable, as are buildings that appear to be falling down, burning, or getting chopped up.
Other Exterior Features
1) The house should not be sitting in the end of a dead-end road, as it is the worst situation in Feng Shui.
2) The house should be street level or higher but never lower than the sidewalk or street. Avoid land, which slopes lower in the back.
3) The house should be built on a level plane. But it is better for the front of the house to be built on a low point, and the back to be built on a high point than for the front to be built on a high point and the back on a low point.
4) Pay attention to your gate and fence specifics. A solid-built gate will ensure your home's security. The best gate design for a home is regular rectangular-shaped or arch-shaped to symbolize the uplift of life and stability.
5) A point to consider for your fence is the types with pointed arrows. These are good for keeping the burglars and negative Chi at bay. But do beware, because the points act as poison arrows if directed towards your home and depletes growth - this may lead to downfall for you and loved ones.
6) Placing lamps outside the front door are like placing guardians in your yard. But they must be placed in such a way that they do not block the door nor stimulate improper chi.
7) The path should not be littered or damaged in any way and should be lit so visitors can see the way.
8) Leave no obstacle on your front door for this will block good Chi from flowing inside your house.
9) It is best if the main door does not face the corner of another house, a tree, or a post.
10) Wind chime outside your house is good, as it will distract the negative energies from entering the house.
11) Plants with thorns or spikes like the cactus are inauspicious and they should be left outside the house. Use round leafed plants instead inside the house.

The Floor Plan
Because floor plans regulate the flow of energy in a house, feng-shui practitioners look kindly on floor plans that promote the flow of positive energy, prevent the leakage of nourishing energy, and curb the development and movement of negative energy. For example, to prevent unpredictable and possibly aggressive energy from moving into the living space of a house, garages should be placed so that entering cars do not "drive" toward the bedroom, study, family room, kitchen, living room, or dining room. Here are some other floor plan pointers:
1) The entrance or main door should not below the street level. It is difficult for beneficial Chi to enter on this type of house.
2) To keep prosperity from flowing out of the house, the main entrance should not be aligned with any secondary entrances or large windows.
3) To keep negative energy from developing, the house should not have long, narrow corridors, maze-like hallways, dark corners, or steep stairways.
4) To promote the flow of positive energy, hallways and stairways should be wide and well-lighted.
5) To ensure that the occupants will not lose vital energy while sleeping, bedrooms should not be too exposed to the outside. Therefore, large, ceiling-to-floor windows are not appropriate for bedrooms.
6) To maximize the overall flow of energy in a house, the house should have a fairly simple floor plan with clearly defined levels. You should not feel “lost” or disoriented in a house.
7) The living room should be in the south side of the home or should face south. West is another option but it should have a pleasant view.
8) Many living rooms are adjacent to kitchens or dining rooms and in these cases, it is best to have a visual barrier placed between them with the help of a screen or large plants. If you have doors in between, try to keep them closed.

General Topic / Bohol-Cebu Friendship Bridge
July 27, 2009, 12:28:35 AM
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol - The proposed construction of the 90-kilometer Cebu-Bohol Friendship Bridge is “on track,” with a foreign agency pledging to release funds for its feasibility study, an official said.

Bohol Gov. Erico Aumentado announced yesterday that the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of Korea has pledged about $3 million as a grant for the feasibility study.

For updates from around the country, follow Sun.Star on Twitter

“I am happy to report to the RDC that one of our mega-projects, the Bohol-Cebu Multi-Access Friendship Bridge, now has the support of EDCF,” Aumentado told the Regional Development Council (RDC) 7 during their full council meeting here.

Request for funding

The RDC in Central Visayas asked the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to endorse to the Korean government their request for funding assistance for the feasibility study on the proposed bridge, the first between Cebu and Bohol.

Aumentado said he will meet with the Korean ambassador on July 28 to “thresh out the mechanics of the project.”

Garcia congratulated Aumentado for the development.

In an interview with reporters, Aumentado confirmed endorsements from various agencies are required for the funding to be released.

The proposed bridge project will have to be endorsed by DPWH, the Neda Investment Coordination Committee technical board, Neda board and the foreign affairs secretary.

Aumentado said it is the foreign affairs secretary who will then endorse the request for funding to the Korean government.

The Bohol governor believes the bridge project will improve commerce, technology sharing and the exchange of power and water between Bohol and Cebu.

Conceived in 2006

Aumentado said the project was conceptualized in 2006 yet. But due to the lack of funds, the feasibility study was not started.

The 90-kilometer bridge’s construction is expected to cost at least P20 billion.

“Funding for the actual project implementation is not a problem.

We can have it through BOT (build-operate-transfer) or a loan. But I prefer it done through a BOT,” Aumentado said.

Once the bridge is up, Aumentado said it will be easier to bring water from Bohol to Cebu, in contrast to earlier proposals to use submarine pipes.

Bohol, in turn, can also take advantage of the bridge to tap Cebu’s excess power, he said.

The operation of the Kepco and Global Power plants in 2011 is expected to generate an additional 200 megawatts for Cebu.

‘Follow the process’

Aumentado said that when he attended the recent Asean South Korea summit with President Arroyo, a Korean embassy official informed him that his government was “willing to give due course” to the request for $3 million for a feasibility study on the proposed bridge, “provided that we follow the process.”
