Ooo! 'te you are so correct about the mama birds.
You know last summer, I was driving by down route 322 down Black Horse Pike and there was a column of ducks crossing the street. There was a mama duck, and 6 or so baby ducks and the papa duck was behind the line. Intawn, there was a big truck that was driving so fast--and ran over the center of the line!!
The truck killed the baby ducklings except for one or two; the papa duck was also killed as he did not leave the ducklings at all.
I remember I stopped my car and walked to the center of the street to ask the drivers to let the mama duck and her surviving 2 ducklings cross the road.
Aguy, Ate Belle, ang Mama duck..nang hilak intawn. She went to the bodies of her baby ducklings and did not leave them.
She was crying intawn, squawking at me and she covered the babies' bodies with her wings. She even went to the body of her mate, the papa duck. She stayed with the babies and did not leave. So i left her there with them.
When I drove back the same way several hours later, I found that the mama duck and her other ducklings were also killed by oncoming drivers.
The mama duck did not leave the bodies of her babies, uy. I cried baya when I passed their bodies.
The love of a mother to her babies is paramount jud. Imagine, that mama duck was probably sitting on top of her babies when they were still but little eggs. Keeping them warm until they finally hatched and called out to their mommy. Intawn gi ligsan ra sila.

My parents always use those to call back home, hahaha, i always laugh and smile whenever im in the table hearing my dad call home because you can tell when the minutes are timing out. He'll start to talk real fast and then after that while in the middle of a sentence, he'll open another card, lol.
Gotta say man, I love watching Filipino OFWs talk to family back home.

A seven year-old boy was swallowed by a crocodile while swimming with a teen-aged brother at the waters in Palawan province, Philippines on Wednesday, a top official of the PNP in the region reported Thursday.
Chief Superintendent Luisito Palmera, MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), identified the victim as Mostaqem Ibrahim of Sitio Sumorom, Ransang village in Rizal town.
Citing initial information, Palmera said Ibrahim was swimming with his 12-year-old brother Jadnor when they were attacked by a crocodile at around 1 p.m.
“Said incident was witnessed by his brother Jadnor who immediately shouted for help. His father immediately responded together with their neighbors,†said Palmera.
An hour after the incident, Palmera said residents caught a crocodile - measuring at least 14 feet and 9 inches long and two feet in width. He said the residents cut the crocodile’s stomach but did not found the victim’s body.
“Its apparently a different crocodile,†said Palmera. The official said efforts are underway to recover the victim.

This is a very rare event in Philippine history. I haven't seen of a giant crocodile anywhere else in the country except in the Crocodile Farm in Davao City.

This goes to tell us, that race, ethnicity and background is not a limiting factor.
We Filipinos are truly a noble race. All of us.
I am no one special, 'te, a simple and humble boy who comes from very humble roots in Valencia, Bohol and Pintuyan, Leyte. My grandparents did not even go to college, and were simple but hard working people that instilled work ethic and faith to my parents. Who then instilled it in me and my brothers and sister. I am but a product of my grandparents. A testament to the sacrifices they and my parents gave for the children. My success is their succes. And a living proof that poverty and humility does not limit a person. But invigorates them forward. To my Papa Titing, Mama Luz, Lola Nating, Lola Babing, Lolo Dolong, Lola Hermohina, Lolo Ricardo, Lola Donisia, Lola Gabina, I hope you are smiling down on me form Heaven. MY heart beats pride in being a Boholano. And A Bisayan.
When we put our minds to something, nothing can stop us.
When God is with us, who can be against us?

I cannot guarantee that I will not be crying this week.
