What's the Meaning of Male Genital Mutilation? - It increases trust amongst men
By: Stefan Anitei, Science Editor - Softpedia

Maasai circumcision. The teenager must prove his manhood by not displaying any sign of pain

Weird like it sounds, about 20% of indigenous cultures worldwide practice male genital cutting, varying from circumcision to the removal of a testicle. Now, we know also why: Chris Wilson, a doctoral candidate in Cornell's Department of Neurobiology and Behavior, says that this decreases the chances of fertilization from extramarital sex, reducing conflict among men in tribal societies.

The research published in the journal "Evolution and Human Behavior" points to the immediate reasons behind the ritual "male genital mutilation," like religion, tradition, hygiene or initiation into adulthood. But these explanations only cover a deeper evolutionary purpose, even if men are not consciously aware.

"Because genital alteration is a painful and even risky procedure, especially under primitive conditions, it must have some evolutionary benefit or it would not have persisted," wrote Wilson.

Male genital operation is not only practiced in 180 indigenous societies, but it is experienced by about 33% of all men worldwide. The differences in the way of making the procedure point that various societies developed the practice independently thousands of years ago.

"Genital cutting may limit extramarital sex. In evolutionary terms, a man benefits from such affairs by passing his genes to a child who requires no further investment on his part. If natural selection has designed the genitals for fertilization, then changing that design will harm this function. In particular, modifying the shape of the genitals makes it physically less likely that a man will impregnate a woman during an affair, and, therefore, the evolutionary incentive for adultery is smaller," said Wilson.

As a result, this will increase trust amongst men within a society, decreasing conflict triggered by paternity issues and cheating. Wilson has discovered much higher degrees of cutting in societies where men practice polygamy and the wives live far apart. This increases the possibilities for extramarital affairs, as the man cannot look after all his wives at once. The male genital mutilation just increases confidence between the married men and bachelors.

This seems to really work, as Wilson discovered decreased degrees of extramarital affairs in societies practicing male genital mutilation, compared with cultures that do not. Moreover, in societies that practice genital cutting, older men were trusted more and offered benefits to younger men who underwent the procedure, thus the operation eliminates mistrust and raises social status.

The Champs of Sex - Resulting from the annual Durex Sexual Wellbeing Global Survey
By: Stefan Anitei, Science Editor - Softpedia

Here come the results for the 2007-2008 Durex Sexual Wellbeing Global Survey. It was made on a pool of 26,000 people from 26 countries around the world, and the results may be surprising or not.

The list is topped by the Greeks, 87% of them having sex at least once a week, followed by the Brazilians, with 82%. Third on the list, with 80%, are the Russians. 60% of the Australians have sex weekly.

Only 55% of the British have sex at least once a week; the number is 53% for Americans and Nigerians, and 34% (!) for the Japanese.

Austrians appear to be the world's most experienced lovers - Austrian men have had 29 sexual partners and Austrian women 17, while the smalest numbers have been recorded in the case of the Chinese (4 sexual partners for men and 2 for women).

But if 60% of the people saw sex as "fun, enjoyable and a vital part of life," overall, just 44% of the subjects were "fully satisfied" with their sex lives and only 48% said they "usually" had orgasms. Nigerians compensated low quantity with quality: 78% of the Nigerian women said they regularly had orgasms, followed by Mexican women, with 74%. Japanese women bottomed this issue as well: only 10% of them regularly have orgasms.

64% of the men, compared to 30% of the women, regularly have orgasms. About 25% of men said they had had difficulties in getting an erection, and 29% had had problems maintaining one.

Of those who were sexually satisfied, over 80% said they felt respected by their partner. About 30% said they would like more fun and intimacy during sex.

"Our findings suggest that achieving sexual satisfaction starts from your first sexual experience. 37 % agree that their sex life has been positively affected by their first sexual experience," said a spokesperson for Durex.

The study reports that Americans, on average, have sex once every 4.3 days and spend 57 minutes per week engaging in foreplay and sexual intercourse. While the numbers may seem high, the global rates show a frequency of sex once every 3.5 days and a weekly time allotment of 71 minutes.

37% of Americans feel their sex lives have been negatively impacted by daily stress.

Heterosexuals had an average number of partners during their lives of 13 for men and 7 for women. Homosexuals had an average of 108 partners for men and 11 for women.

The duration of the contact decreased with the age: those aged 16 to 24 make sex for about 24 minutes during an encounter; those over 55 can barely do it for 12 minutes. Still, among the latter, 48% practice oral sex and 34% use sex toys.

Who Are the World's Most Promiscuous Women? - And why?
By: Stefan Anitei, Science Editor - Softpedia

Biologically, men are designed to be more active sexually, because of the higher quantity of testosterone in their bodies. And except some remote cultures, like in Tibet or Southern India, where polyandry (a woman can have several husbands) is practiced, this does happen. But the annual Durex Sexual Wellbeing Global Survey, made on 26,000 subjects from 26 countries, found that New Zealand women have in fact more sex partners than New Zealand men! This is unique amongst the countries of the world: women more promiscuous than men! A total record... Kiwi women had an average of 20.4 sexual partners, thrice the global average of 7.3, and double compared to British or Australian women. This is "Girl Power" or the meaning of "girls can do anything" went to extremes.

The New Zealand National Council for Women warns that young women act more like men behaving badly, losing that touch of femininity, and this wrong behavior is put on the high alcohol consume at the parties.

"Politically and economically, New Zealand women are blazing across the barriers. [But] women need to realize that empowerment does not disenfranchise them from being a woman. Women need to know that it is perfectly acceptable to act and behave like a woman and not a 'blokette' with something to prove to their male counterparts," council president Christine Low told TVNZ, marking the International Women's Day.

"Kiwi women drank just as much as Germans or Russians. But for some reason there's a perspective that women's drinking is worse here than anywhere else. Maybe [New Zealand] women don't know how to behave," said German-born Helene Wolf, a Wellington resident, told Stuff.co.nz.

But a TVNZ Sunday investigation into the sexual behavior of Kiwi women revealed that young New Zealand women are regularly getting drunk and cruising around in packs searching for men to have sex with.

"There was anecdotal evidence from the five women on the show that the Durex survey findings were valid. There's a new kind of mating ritual sex is the point of entry into the relationship. There's no dating culture any more," said Janet McIntyre of TVNZ.

These women know how to rapidly make the difference: if the first sex night was not satisfactory, they did not waste their time with such obsolete issues like dating before engaging into a relationship. These NZ women, all in their twenties, stated they felt empowered by having sex and all of those who had experienced one-night stands had been under the influence of alcohol.

This behavior impacted the men: a 2007 Bloke survey revealed that 29% of the 5,000 men felt they had been pressured into having sex or had had sex unwillingly. Oh, my God! We can witness such a situation ... I wonder what would be the opinion of our grandpas about this.

Malen is the only daughter of Chayong, a prayer woman in Quiapo who complements her trade with selling rosaries and scapulars. Stubborn and willful,  Malen listens to nobody and does what she wants, even if it is against her mother's wishes.  No wonder she becomes easily involved with Mike, a charming and wily tourist driver, who is very much like her.

Fr. Tony is a troubled priest who seeks sanctuary in Quiapo. Assigned to a room below the place where Malen and Chayong live, he is witness to Malen's flagrant disobedience. He knows Chayong's grief when Malen leaves her to go away with Mike. It doesn't take long for Chayong to grow weak and eventually die of heartbreak.

But Malen comes back, and when she does, she has no choice but to take over her mother's job as a prayer woman. She has to survive! So despite the negative comments of other prayer women, Malen stays at the church and accepts prayer requests from desperate souls in exchange for donations.  Surprisingly, her prayers get answered even if she does not mean them. Malen can't understand why, but her clientele keeps growing. She is earning good money, so why should she care?

As for Mike, he continues to be the hustler that he is. Besides being the personal driver of Mrs. Hoffman, he is also fooling around with her. When Mrs. Hoffman refuses to pay him for his additional services, he flies into a rage. A traffic accident leads him to shoot a man.

He seeks refuge in Malen. But after a while, he leaves her again. He goes to the province to visit his young son, who is terminally ill. Malen too falls ill. But three days after her ordeal, she wakes up to find that her customers whose prayers were answered have come to her house to thank her. News about her power as a prayer woman has spread.

Malen struggles with her newfound power.  She can now heal people, and even the devout and hardworking nun, Sister Dolor, is convinced. She had been able to heal an old, festering wound on the nun's foot. Malen talks to the alcoholic priest who lives downstairs and seeks his advice. The experience transforms her. And him. She is able to forgive herself for her sins, especially those against her mother.

But now comes her biggest test. Mike's son has died and he brings him to her. For the first time in her career as a prayer woman, she finds herself praying and trusting with all her heart. Can she bring him back to life? Will God grant her this prayer?

Does she or does she not have the gift?

di man apektado sila kay naanad naman sila. mosaka or motaas ang dollar di man nila ma differentiate ang sitwasyon kay wa man sila nagsalig sa mga abroad. gawas pa...mosaka man or motaas ang dollar isa ra man ang epekto...motaas gihapon ang presyo sa mga prime commodities sa atoa
