Ray, and Father,

I recommend to you both this one good restaurant by the pantalan in Maribojoc. It is called 'AUP AUP'.

Their fish tinola and sinugbang isda is amazing. Fresh seaweed salad and fresh kinilaw.

The sunset was also amazing to see, as we dined.
Bai Lorenz, I've been there and done that. You're right the food is nice while enjoying the seabreeze. This one featured by fr. fro is enticing. I need to taste those paklay, caldereta, mandunggo, kilawin among others.

A trio of stars of Discovery's hit reality series "Deadliest Catch" have left the show.

Capts. Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand -- who were sued earlier this month by Discovery for allegedly not performing work on a planned spinoff special -- as well as Capt. Sig Hansen, said in a statement Tuesday that they were "unable" to continue on the series due to the litigation.

"We have been through a lot over the past year and unfortunately given the current situation with Discovery we are unable to continue participating in 'Deadliest Catch,'" the three crab fishermen said in a joint written statement. "It has been a fantastic ride, and we wish the best to all of the amazing and supportive 'Catch' fans we have met over the years."

A statement from Discovery was not forthcoming.

The network sued the Hillstrands for $3 million claiming they failed to show up to finish work on "Hillstranded," a planned "Catch" spinoff. The Hillstrands' lawyer Jeff Cohen then called the suit an attempt to "extort" his clients and said the lawsuit could force them to sell their boats and fire their crews. Hansen, also repped by Cohen, later weighed in, backing the Hillstrands, slamming Discovery and saying, "I want people to know the captains stand together, and me and my brothers support them 100 percent."

Hansen, captain of the Northwestern, has been a fixture on "Catch" since its first season premiered in 2005. The Hillstrands, captains of the Time Bandit, joined in Season 2. Filming on the seventh season of the Emmy-nominated series is scheduled to begin as crab season starts in October. But barring any reconciliation, it now appears the show will be down three captains (in addition to Capt. Phil Harris, who died earlier this year).

makalagot man gyod hinoon ning bogalbogalan tag komedya tungod sa atong gender pero kining hitaboa naklaro nga mubog pabilo ning bayhana.  i suspect there's more to the story than what is in this news item.

why bohol perceived as a poor province? because people can see it when they go there. we are rich in natural resources, beauty spots and historical sites among others. but that can't be construed as highlight of an improving province. that is because no matter happens it's always there in the minds, in the history books and in the memorabilia or pictures.

i am a true bloodied boholano. the history of my family of my parents are always have attachment with bohol. i want people to go to bohol not because of beauty spots and historical sites wherein it can only be seen in few places but also for business and work.

agree pero ayaw pud ug shoot gun approach na tanan ma igo.....yes Danao dagahan pa ug pobre but it has significant improvement na compared before this is because of the Adventure park......the park has great impact on Danao's economy......it hired more than 100 pax...indirectly it benefited people in town thru income generating activities via accommodation, habalhabal, van for hire, carenderia etc.......plus ni add ug another aspect of tourism for bohol w/c draws more tourist to bohol......since 3 years pa ang park you cant expect it to cure the social ills of the town nga dugay na gi neglect before the current administration came in.....it will take some time to fix the problem on poverty........

now with extra income generated....sa pag ka karon.....they have manage to raise 25M sa park of which they have already set aside money for healthcare, education, micro finacing, job training, etc......in fact they have a project where they provide free milk sa mga day care center around the town....plus the milk they are buying is sourced from within the town lang supporting a local coop.....just recently nag launch ang Danao ug Home stay this way ang mga towns people will have the opportunity to earn pud.....so slowly but surely we hope the poverty in the town will slowly be reduced......to a manageable level......

again di pud tana leaders sa bohol are after personal gains.....

no pun intended. i didn't under estimate the people of danao. it was just some sort of connection to what they said that bohol is a paradise which is really true but can be disputed to the poverty that you can see all over the province. hopefully, we can have good leaders like mayor gonzaga who put up initiative. i believe he's one of the new brilliant minds of bohol.

i agree that not all the leaders are corrupt. maybe we can see those kind in the lower level perhaps in the municipal level down to barangay level. the people already know who they are.

bohol will never reach the level of cebu or negros in terms of improvement, infrastructure and investor wise. sorry to say this but it's really the truth. the people running the show in bohol are all greedy and all are just thinking for themselves. hopefully someone in the future will save this province the mouth of the predators.

bohol is indeed a paradise but the question is, are the people in bohol living as if they are in paradise? the answer is no, a big, big no. they are still hungry people in panglao island even if it's called a paradise, hungry constituents in carmen even if there hills are chocolate, hungry and needy residents in danao even if they have EAT in their town.

according to nationmaster.com in their most recent record, philippines is #70 in the list among countries with population living below the poverty line. in which we are tied with Turkmenistan, Cape Verde, and Dominica where 30% of the entire population are below poverty line. The same result presented by Index Mundi. while in CIA, it is showed to at 32.9% based on 2006 data.

Countries whose poverty line are below 10% are Austria 6%, Andorra 8%, France 6.2%, Greenland 9.2%, Ireland 4.2%, Lithuania 4%, Malaysia 5.1%, Mauritius 8%, Montenegro 7%, Serbia 7.9%, Switzerland 7.4%, Taiwan 1.08%, Thailand 9.6% and Tunisia 3.8%. While the top 20 countries are all from Africa.

Philippine Provinces / Singsons, Atong named in jueteng
September 23, 2010, 07:28:41 AM
MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago yesterday named the top jueteng operators and protectors in the country and said that the illegal numbers game still flourishes due to the blessings of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

“The equation DILG plus PNP equals jueteng means that illegal jueteng consists of a conspiracy between the interior secretary and the police chief,” Santiago said in her privilege speech.

The senator said the two top government officials are the “prime beneficiaries and ultimate protectors” of illegal numbers games.

She dissected the entire backbone of the jueteng anatomy nationwide, linking an incumbent governor, a political ally of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, a gambling consultant, a brother of a police general and a long list of local executives from Sangguniang Bayan members to congressmen and local police officers from the municipal to the national level as among those who are involved in an extensive protection racket.

Santiago revealed that about P118.1 million a day is collected from 42 cities and provinces from seven regions in Luzon and Metro Manila.

Top five in the senator’s list of jueteng kingpins are Atong Ang, Tony Santos, Danny Soriano, Aging Lisan and Bong Pineda, husband of Pampanga Gov. Lilia Pineda.

Citing her own intelligence reports, Santiago claimed that the interior secretary and the PNP chief receive P300 million in jueteng payola a year “to be divided according to agreement.”

She identified Ilocos Gov. Chavit Singson as the main operator in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and La Union, a certain Bonito Singson as operator in Abra, and a certain M. Urduja/Boy Bata in Pangasinan.

In Region 1, the senator said the daily income for Ilocos Norte is P2 million; Ilocos Sur, P2 million; Abra, P900,000; La Union, P800,000, and Pangasinan, P9 million.

In Region 2, Santiago said Atong Ang, also known as Double A, operates Virtual 2 in Nueva Vizcaya and Isabela which earn P1.5 million and P3.5 million, respectively.

In Cagayan, a certain Danny Soriano, reportedly a brother of police Gen. Jefferson Soriano, operates jueteng (1-37) with a P1.4-million daily take and Quirino (P300,000). The operator in Benguet (P1.2 million) and Baguio (P1.5 million) was not identified.

Santiago, however, commended Aurora Gov. Bellaflor Angara-Castillo because there was no “jueteng to speak of” in her province.

Santiago cited reports reaching her office that Bong Pineda operates in Nueva Ecija with daily revenues of P7.5 million; Bulacan with P8 million/day; Pampanga, P9 million; Angeles City, P1.5 million and Bataan, P3 million.

No particular operator was identified in Tarlac, the home province of President Aquino, but she said that there is a reported P3.5 million daily revenue from jueteng operations.

A certain Col. De los Santos is said to be operating in Zambales, which has P1.5 million daily earning; and one Aging Lisan operating in Olongapo, which accounts for P1.1 million daily revenue.

Santiago: Puno should resign

The senator said after her speech that Undersecretary Puno should gracefully step down because of the embarrassment he has caused President Aquino.

The senator, however, made it clear that current Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo should be spared because Puno has admitted that the chief executive has assigned him to oversee peace and order, the PNP’s jurisdiction.

In linking the DILG and the PNP to the jueteng protection racket, Santiago noted that the DILG exercises control over the PNP and supervision over local governments.

Unless the government takes drastic action, Santiago said jueteng will not end today or for years to come.

“Jueteng will end only four and a half billion years from now, when planet Earth is expected to die. Before then, big stars will explode in supernovas, dwarf stars will turn into black holes, gravity will create new stars, planets and galaxies, the planet Earth will commune with alternate universes, and in the Philippines, jueteng will still continue,” said Santiago, who was in a red suit.

She said jueteng is the crown jewel of any new administration, noting that operators are usually busy courting presidential candidates during elections.

After throwing exorbitant cash contributions, she said, “these racketeers would steer the grateful president to appointing their blushing man as DILG secretary.”

Merchants of poverty

Santiago described the DILG secretary and the PNP chief as the  “merchants of poverty” who operate with impunity until the next administration.

She said both officials enjoy one percent of the jueteng gross receipts every month, or one percent of the annual receipts of some P30 billion, equivalent to about P300 million divided by two every year.

Santiago warned that if jueteng continues unabated, the Philippine president will someday be elected on the basis of who gets the biggest jueteng contribution.

However, Verzosa’s lawyer came out yesterday to answer the senator’s allegations.

“That’s another wild accusation and retired PNP chief Verzosa denies that in strongest terms. Senator Santiago has long been at loggerheads with former Secretary (Ronaldo) Puno and has always been her favorite target. Retired chief PNP Verzosa has no personal issues against her and is ready to face any charge that Sen. Santiago may file in court should evidence warrant,” lawyer Benjamin de los Santos said.

PNP officials up in arms

A day before Santiago’s expose, PNP chief Director General Raul Bacalzo and five regional police directors in Luzon have all countered allegations that jueteng continues to proliferate in their respective areas due to the huge payola protection racket from operators.

Regional director Chief Superintendent Orlando Mabutas maintained that the PNP has conducted all-out operations against illegal gambling in Region 1, adding that jueteng “does not exist in Ilocos Norte because of STL operations.”

However, he said jueteng is conducted through guerrilla operations in Pangasinan.

Chief Superintendent Alan Purisima, Central Luzon police director said he has ordered an intensified campaign against the illegal numbers game in his area since he assumed office on Aug. 3.

Aside from Mabutas and Purisima, Chief Superintendent Benedict Michael Fokno, PRO2 regional director, Chief Superintendent Nicanor Bartolome, regional director of PRO-4 Calabarzon,  and Chief Superintendent Artemio Hicban, regional director of the Police Regional Office of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan (MIMAROPA), also submitted to the Senate Blue Ribbon committee their respective affidavits to negate the claims of retired archbishop Oscar Cruz.

Chief PNP slams Cam’s claims

Bacalzo, in an affidavit submitted at the Senate hearing, belied the claims of jueteng operator-turned-whistleblower Sandra Cam that he was receiving millions in jueteng payola.

“I totally and unequivocally deny all allegations of Ms. Sandra Cam as pure lies and speculations, made without factual or legal basis, ill-motivated and designed merely to malign and destroy my name for whatever reason unknown to me,” Bacalzo said.

Bacalzo said he has reviewed the transcripts of the Senate hearings on May 30, 2005 and June 9 and 12, which Cam alluded to.

“It is very revealing that nowhere in the transcripts of records of the Senate hearings or at no time during the Senate hearings did my name appear or was ever mentioned,” Bacalzo said in his affidavit.

He noted that Cam’s statements were “full of inconsistencies and assumptions.”

PCSO manager also hit

In another affidavit, Romualdo Quinones, manager III who is assigned at the Special Projects Department of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), also submitted an affidavit before the Senate, categorically denying that he has received any payola from jueteng.

“I have no knowledge and/or participation on the matter of the alleged jueteng operations, payola or payoffs,” he said.

Quinones, who was invited to the Senate’s hearing as a resource person, said he was given an additional assignment as member of the Project Steering Committee of the PCSO Small Town Lottery project, and as head of the STL Project Management Office.

Santiago has alleged that Quinones was also in the payroll of jueteng operators. - By Christina Mendez (Philstar News Service, www.philstar.com)

Travel and Tours / 7 Pinays nabbed by UK immigration
September 23, 2010, 07:27:34 AM
Seven Filipinas were recently arrested and are set to be deported by the United Kingdom (UK) Border Agency following a series of immigration crackdown operations.

In a release posted on the website of the British Embassy in Manila, the seven Filipinos were arrested, along with other foreign nationals, during Border Agency raids on different addresses in Willesden in northwest London on September 16.

“The enforcement operations are part of a planned nationwide crackdown by the UK Border Agency to tackle illegal working, sham marriages, bogus colleges and organised immigration crime," the release said.

It was unclear, however, what specific immigration laws were violated by the seven.

The release said UK Border Agency officers received information on locations of illegal migrants in Willesden and conducted the raid, along with Metropolitan Police officers and Brent Council staff.

They found 50 people inside the addresses and in one accommodation, and arrested 11 of them - seven Filipino women, three Chinese men and a Chinese woman due to unspecified immigration offenses.

The seven Filipinos, according to the UK Embassy, are currently being detained pending their deportation.

“This is the latest in a series of operations designed to find and remove those who have no right to live or work in the UK. We continue to work closely with the police and other agencies to target those who are here illegally, and more raids like this are planned across the UK," said Steve Fisher, head of the Border Agency's Brent local immigration team.

In July, the Border Agency likewise arrested six Filipinos, along with other migrants from Malawi and Ghana, by the Border Agency at a private nursing home in Poulner, Ringwood.

“We urge all Filipinos to comply with the conditions of their entry when visiting the UK. While the UK welcomes genuine visitors from the Philippines, we are also committed to tackling immigration abuse robustly, as evidenced by these recent arrests and removals," said Ed Mackie, UK Border Agency’s regional manager in the Philippines.

“We also continue to work closely with the Philippines Government to raise awareness of this issue and to discourage people from offending," Mackie added.

The UK Embassy noted that Philippine nationals working illegally in the UK have been apprehended by the Border Agency in regular enforcement operations and returned to Philippines.

In 2009, 85 Filipino nationals were deported from the UK after being held in detention for immigration offenses.

"Arrests are carried out by trained immigration officers who carry out operations at businesses and private addresses, acting on intelligence received from the public and other sources," the release added.

MANILA (AFP) - â€" The judge trying those accused of committing the worst political massacre in Philippine history will drop all her other cases to concentrate on the high-profile trial, the Supreme Court said on Tuesday.

Powerful Muslim politician Andal Ampatuan Jnr and 16 police officers went on trial earlier this month for the November 2009 murders of 57 people including 30 journalists and relatives of his local rival.

Supreme Court spokesman and court administrator Jose Midas Marquez said the judge handling the Ampatuan trial has been ordered to hand over her other cases to colleagues.

"That would give her more time to concentrate and focus on the Ampatuan trial," Marquez said, referring to lower court judge Jocelyn Reyes.

Prosecutors had expressed fears that the Ampatuan's wealth and the large numbers of witnesses that both the clan and the government plan to put on the stand, mean the trial could take years to complete.

Nearly 200 people are to stand trial in Reyes' court for the murders, including Ampatuan's father and namesake Andal Ampatuan Snr. and four other detained members of the Ampatuan clan.

About half the suspects remain at large, and rights monitors have accused the Ampatuan family of working behind bars to intimidate some of the witnesses to the murders.

It was unclear if the Supreme Court order would speed up the hearing frequencies, which are now set at twice every month. So far state prosecutors have presented only one out of about 200 planned witnesses.

Andal Ampatuan Jnr, the main defendant, and more than 100 armed followers allegedly shot dead the victims to stop a rival from running against him for the post of provincial governor.

The clan had controlled the southern province of Maguindanao for nearly a decade and, until shortly after the murders, was closely allied with then president Gloria Arroyo, who cut her ties with it after the killings.

President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino chose burgers and pizza for his meals in the first day of his working visit to the United States.

Upon arriving in San Francisco on Tuesday, Aquino and his delegation dined at “In-N-Out,” a fastfood restaurant known for its tasty hamburgers.

“The President noted that he and his cabinet secretaries were like kids as they enjoyed eating their burgers which were really huge,” according to a Malacanang statement.

Aquino is also looking forward to eating hotdogs, pizza and chow mien in New York.

“He recalled that his family used to eat pizza and chao mien when they were in Boston while his late father, former senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. was in exile,” the statement added.

While in New York, Aquino also broke his vow that he will not use sirens. His escorts there have insisted the use of sirens during his trip from the airport to the five-star Sofitel Hotel in Manhattan.

Aquino said the use of sirens, known in the Philippines as “wang-wang”, was beyond his control because “we’re just visitors here.” He discourages the use of the sirens in government vehicles, including those he uses as president, when plying public highways and roads.

Aquino is on a week-long working visit to the United States for the 65th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), and meetings with foreign investors, among others. He is also expected to meet U.S. President Barack Obama in the UNGA.

“If I get the chance to meet with President Obama, of course, that would be most welcome. There are a lot of concerns that have to be taken up with President Obama,” Aquino said in an interview with reporters in New York.

Aquino is also scheduled to meet with former US Secretary of State Dr. Henry Kissinger and some officials of the Synergos Institute and AES Corporation. He will also meet with World Bank president Robert Zoellick.

Aquino will also face the foreign press, including meetings with the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. He will then visit the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, New York where he will be conferred with the Elizabeth Ann Seton medal, the school’s highest honor.

Aquino left on Monday, with high hopes he will be able to draw more investments from the US and generate more jobs for Filipinos.

Aquino’s U.S. visit is his first foreign trip since he was sworn into office in June, breaking the tradition of his predecessors who visit neighbouring Asian countries first.

Mariel to marry Robin again

MANILA, Philippines - Actress-TV host Mariel Rodriguez said she will marry action star Robin Padilla again in Catholic wedding rites.

In an interview with "Showbiz News Ngayon" (SNN), Rodriguez, who already married Padilla last month in India, announced they will have their second marriage in the country for their families and friends.

"Yes, of course, we are going to invite everyone in the Catholic blessing. That's why we always say na when the right time comes, we will talk," said Rodriguez who cleared that she's still a Catholic.

"Sa Islam naman, there's no compulsion. Walang sapilitan," she said.

On Tuesday night, in an interview with Tina Monzon Palma on ANC's "The World Tonight", Padilla admitted that he married Rodriguez.

He made the revelation a day after his son Ali went back to his mother in Australia last Monday.

Rodriguez said they decided to keep their silence on the real status of their relationship because they felt it's not the right time yet.

"Kasi nga the reason why we came back from India was because we have to fix stuff with Ali. And since Ali left yesterday, ngayon pwede ng pag-usapan at pwede ng i-clarify. Kasi from the time we came back until yesterday it's all about Ali," Rodriguez said.

She added that now that she's married to Padilla, she's the happiest woman in the world.

"Ako ang pinakamasayang tao sa buong mundo ngayon," she said.

The marriage
In an interview with SNN, Rodriguez said she and Padilla married in Agra, India.

"Yes, we've been married for one month. We got married last August 19 in India, sa Taj Majal. There's a mosque in Taj Mahal," she said.

The actress said the ceremony was called "nikah," a matrimonial ceremony between the bride, the groom and Allah.

"It's between Robin, me, and God. It's a Muslim rite," Rodriguez said.

She shared that she had mixed emotions during the ceremony as it was a dream come true for her to get married in India.

"I was really...It was mixed emotions. I couldn't believe that I was there because Robin and I had been wanting to go to Taj Mahal. It was actually a start of a dream to get married there so we couldn't believe na it's happening talaga," she said.

The host-actress said that after the ceremony she immediately told her sister about it.

Rodriguez shared that the October issue of "StarStudio" magazine will feature their whole India trip and what happened during their wedding.

Robin says sorry to Abunda
On SNN, Padilla apologized to Rodriguez's talent manager and the show's host Boy Abunda for what happened.

"Bago ang lahat, Tito Boy, kanina pa ako humihingi ng pasensiya sa nangyaring tanan," Padilla said.

Abunda replied that he has nothing against it as long as his ward is happy.

Aside from Abunda, Padilla apologized to his wife's grandparents.

"Nahihiya lang po talaga ako kay lolo at lola. Pasensiya na po talaga. Namadali po kasi talaga," he said.

"Hindi lang po namin mapakawalan ang romantic moment kaya patawad po sa lahat," he added.

Padilla bared that what happened in India was really fast. He said he was in India for Ramadan, was really lonely because he failed to get Rodriguez's text messages.

He said he called Rodriguez and asked her to follow him in India.

"Ito lang ang masasabi ko: Kahit sa ayaw at sa gusto niya, sa oras na 'yon eh papayag siya," he said.

A 17 year old girl, who is going by the name “N.N.” to protect her privacy, has just been awarded $33,000 after suing her High School in northeast Pennsylvania. It all started one cold January day in 2009 when N.N. was using her mobile phone in the classroom which admittedly she shouldn’t have been doing in the first, and then her teacher confiscated it. Things got messy when the principal of the school decided to go through her private text messages, emails and photos. In the photo gallery he found pictures of her naked and of course American being the land of prudes he contacted law enforcement and issued N.N. a 3 day suspension. The images were not sent to anyone, they were just captured for later viewing by both N.N. and her boyfriend. Anyone who has ever had experience with photography as a form of foreplay knows that just using the camera with your partner is erotic.

We saw something similar happen earlier this year, albeit without the naked pictures, in Texas when a teacher searched the mobile phone of a student in hopes of finding information that would lead to school officials finding out who committed several acts of vandalism. The lesson here is that as an adult you would never, ever, let anyone search your mobile phone, so why do you think a kid would be any different? Children deserve to have a private life and today that means storing everything that means everything to them in a smartphone or laptop. Sad, but whatever, diaries were the big thing back in the day and still are to some people.

And one more thing: talk about over reaction! One summer I worked retail for Helio, the MVNO that got lumped into Virgin. We had a recycling program where we’d take customers old devices in and send them in for processing at a special location that melted said devices to extract all the precious metals. My workmates would constantly go through the devices people turned in and it made me sick, but I wouldn’t have called the police. My heart would stop beating however if I knew someone had access to my gallery or text message history. Congratulations N.N.!

Fact: Job hunters obsess about resumes. Who wouldn't? There's so much to get right--functional versus chronological, objective statements (pro and con), key words, templates, references, font size, white space, action verbs, employment gaps, placement and style of bullets, typos, and whether to include hobbies (probably a "no" on that last one).

So much, in fact, that we often forget the most important ingredient of a really great, interview-obtaining, new-job-snagging resume: It needs to be written specifically for the job you're after.

Does that mean you have to do a new resume for every single position you apply for? Yes, that's exactly what it means.

Fear not, this is not as laborious as it sounds. You don't have to start from scratch each time. All you need to do is edit--or refocus--your "master" resume to sync with the job in question. How?

--First, read and reread the job description. Study it. Ponder it. Identify the words and phrases the employer uses to describe the position.

--Next, take a look your work accomplishments, certifications, education, and experience. You should be keeping lists of all this stuff. This is the raw data you draw on to craft your resumes and cover letters, too.

--Then ask yourself which of your credentials can honestly be described using the same words and phrases the employer uses in the job description.

--Finally, take those words and phrases and use them to describe yourself in your resume. From this point, all you have to do is plug in info from your master resume. See, it's not a total rewrite. In fact, most of your resume will stay the same. You'll find that customizing your resume gets easier each time you do it.

A few more thoughts to consider:

--If you use a career objective at the top of the page, it should include the exact job title of the position you're seeking.

--Remove experience/qualifications that have nothing to do with the job in question. You want to make it easy for employers to see the credentials they most care about.

--Try to figure out what credentials are of highest importance to the employer and put those first. Pretend you are in the employer's shoes and ask yourself, "What's my biggest need? What's most important to me about this job?" Talk to your mentor and contacts in the field. Try to find people who are already doing the job you want and ask them, "What is the most important part of your job?"

--If your past job titles are ambiguous, overly jargony, or don't obviously relate to the job you're applying for, rephrase them in laymen's terms--in a way that shows how those past jobs qualify you for this new job.

So, what's the worst mistake you can make on your resume? Failing to customize. It's a new employment market out there. A cookie-cutter resume just doesn't cut it anymore. You need to show your potential employer that you're applying for this job, not just any job. Good luck.

When we’re young, most of us focus so much on not getting pregnant, we don’t think to wonder if we’ll be able to when we want to. But infertility is more common than you think, striking one in eight U.S. couples. Whether you’re trying to become pregnant now or hope to conceive down the road, there are some simple, science-backed steps you can take today to help enhance your fertility naturally. These tips work for every womanâ€"whether you’re contemplating kids or your family is complete, like mineâ€"because the health benefits extend way beyond boosting your baby-making abilities. Oh, and did I mention they might even enhance your love life? Now, that’s something to get excited about!

Practice, practice, practice!
Weekly sexual intimacy appears to regulate your monthly cycle, as well as delay the decline of estrogen as we get older, both of which can enhance fertility, according to research by Winnifred Cutler, Ph.D., founder of the Athena Institute in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. More estrogen is also linked to increased bone density, a healthier cardiovascular system, lower “bad” cholesterol, higher “good” cholesterol and a milder menopause. After all that, what are you waiting forâ€"consider this permission to get busy!

Weigh in:
Having a body-mass index greater than 25 can increase the likelihood of a whole host of health troubles, including polycystic ovary syndrome, which disrupts your menstrual cycleâ€"and may derail your plans for getting pregnant without complications. Aim for a BMI between 18.5 and 25; calculate yours at Self.com.

Butt out:
You know smoking stinks for your lung and heart healthâ€"and now studies show that it can also raise your risk for early menopause. Toxins in the cancer sticks can disrupt ovulation, but the good news is that quitting today can help preserve your fertility. For new ways to kick the habit, talk to your M.D. or visit SmokeFree.gov.

Hit the hay:
Some infertile women have been shown to have low levels of leptin, a hormone that affects hunger and weight regulation. Leptin levels drop if you fall short on zzz’s, so try to log 7 to 8 hours tonight and every night.

Clean house:
Chemicals in home products can impair fertility. Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are flame retardants in some tech toys, plastics and fabrics, and a study in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives reports that women with high PBDE blood levels took twice as long to conceive as those with lower levels. The chemicals may alter thyroid function and disrupt sex-hormone levels. PBDEs leach out and linger in dust we breathe and touch, so use a vacuum with a HEPA filter and wash your hands often to rinse away any residual toxins.

Ace your exams:
Sexually transmitted infections such as chlamydia can cause pelvic inflammation and scarring of the fallopian tubes, which can lead to infertility. Practice safe sex, of course, and see your ob/gyn annually to monitor your reproductive health.

Don’t rule out ice cream:
All you ice cream lovers, take heart: Full-fat dairy foods (like cheese, ice cream and whole milk) may help you get pregnant, a study from the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston finds. A fat-soluble compound in dairy may up your odds of conceiving. Pass the spoon!

B smart:
Once recommended only for pregnant women, folic acid (400 micgrograms a day) is now considered good medicine for all women of childbearing age, says Mark Gapinski, M.D., an ob/gyn at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. We use the B vitamin to make and maintain new cells in skin, hair, nails and throughout the body. Found naturally in lentils (360 mcg per cup) and leafy greens like spinach (260 mcg per cup), folic acid prevents miscarriage and birth defects.

Poor guy

A man escapes from prison where he has been for 15 years. He breaks into a house to look for money and guns and finds a young couple in bed.

He orders the guy out of bed and ties him to a chair, while tying the girl to the bed he gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes into the bathroom. While he's in there, the husband tells his wife:

"Listen, this guy's an escaped convict, look at his clothes! He probably spent lots of time in jail and hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw how he kissed your neck." If he wants sex, don't resist, don't complain, do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter how much he nauseates you. This guy is probably very dangerous. If he gets angry, he'll kill us. Be strong, honey. I love you."

To which his wife responds: "He wasn't kissing my neck. He wwas whispering in my ear. He told me he was gay, thought you were cute, and asked me if we had any vaseline. I told him it was in the bathroom. Be strong honey. I love you too!!"

bwahahahaha. be strong honey. almoranas is on the way.

Some marriage rules are meant to be broken

Ever wondered what the person who coined some marriage rules was thinking or maybe not thinking at the time? “Couples should work out every disagreement calmly; couples should do stuff together”. Say that again?!! If you think about it, some of these rules can literally massacre your marriage.

Psychotherapist and author of Why Did I Marry You Anyway feels that breaking some of these rules may be the best thing you can do for a happier and healthier relationship. Lets see some of these marriage rules that need debunking:

- Where did “Never go to bed angry” come from? Apparently, the Bible. However, trying to work through an issue when both of you are tired, stressed and very angry in actual sense is more damaging than facing opposite sides of the bed and talking about it when both of you are more rested and relaxed.

- Be 100% honest with your spouse? Do I really need to share the gory details of my past relationship? This rule, even without being told, is dying to be broken. Don’t go yapping all you want just because you don’t want to be dishonest. Think about your partner’s feelings. Those count too you know.

- Fighting is the first class flight to divorce?! I believe holding back to avoid conflict actually is. Best advice is to fight in a healthy manner â€" avoid name-calling and screaming at each other for instance. All I know is; airing out conflicts respectfully is better than sweeping things under the carpet.

- Then there is “Your children must come first”. Should you put your marriage on hold just for the kids? What happens once they get all grown and leave the house? Every couple should make their relationship their priority because a good marriage is better for the kids too because it makes them feel safer and more secure with parents that have a loving relationship. Make time for each other. The kids will be fine.

- If you don’t maintain the I-have-been-drugged feeling your marriage will be doomed? Is it even possible to always have that spark in a long term relationship? The end of that spark doesn’t mean the end of your relationship as most people think. Long term relationships are based on commitment and trust and these two are the basis for true love to blossom. So don’t dump your spouse just for sparks. Thou shall not live on fireworks alone.

- And who came up with “a boring marriage is a bad marriage”? Yes, most people enjoy the thrill of drama-filled relationships. Question is: Are such relationships healthy in the long run? There is nothing wrong with being predictable… predictability = reliability. I think your spouse will be better off when he or she “boringly” knows where you are every night, than being excited by your impromptu escapades and all the worrying that comes along with them. After all you can always inject some excitement into your marriage once in a while.

- You must have sex with your spouse to make him/her happy? How is a new mother expected to achieve this? Sex isn’t a to-do list in marriage. Sex isn’t the key to your spouse’s happiness. Sex IS for BOTH OF YOU!

This is how tawa-tawa is prepared for dengue treatment.

Tea Making Procedures:
- take 5 to 6 full whole tawa-tawa plants
- cut off the roots then wash and clean
- fill a boiling pot with clean water then boil the Tawa Tawa for 1 (one) minute in a slow rolling boil
- let it cool
- let the dengue fever victim drink only the Tawa Tawa water for 24 hours
- sip 1 to 1.5 glasses of tawa-tawa water every hour

Remember:
tawa-tawa does not fight dengue virus. they said that it only promotes the development of blood platelets and softens the effect of the dengue virus. tawa-tawa has natural enzymes within that stabilize the membranes of the blood vessels, preventing internal bleeding.

However, according to some:

There is a study that it increases platelet count in mouse/rat but there is no study that it can also increase the platelets for humans. There is no study to back up the claim that "tawa-tawa has natural enzymes within that stabilize the membranes of the blood vessels, preventing internal bleeding." You must remember that in dengue there is normal platelet count, what is abnormal is the function. Also in the permeability of the capillary blood vessels that will caused the bleeding. There is no study how long when you start drinking "tawa-tawa" to how high the platelets will rise. If ever it would work then it's good. It's really sure to have platelet transfusion. Let's not rely on unproven treatment, we need to rely on the experts. So better not delay to consult your doctor because a few hours delay could be fatal.

USA won the 2010 World Championships undefeated. They knock off host Turkey in the finals. Thanks to Kevin Durant who set a record for most points scored in a game. He did it in their quarterfinal game against Russia, hitting 38 pts eclipsing previous record of 35 pts made by another USA player Carmelo Anthony 4 years ago in Japan.

Durant the new face of USA Basketball.

September 18, 2010, 01:01:50 AM
UAAP season 73 is almost over. FEU is waiting for whoever will win against Ateneo and Adamson whom they will meet in the finals. As for UE and UP, it's disappointing season. UE has been tagged as the favorites having reached the finals the previous year but it turned out to be a dud as they sucked in the first round. They made a good rally in the 2nd round but the hole is to deep to cover. As for UP, they also tagged as one of the favorites having been making alot of buzz in the pre-season since they placed 2nd in the PBL with Pharex using the core UP team in their fold. They also had a good showing in the Fr. Martin Cup tourney. Plus they have a Magi Sison of Smart Gilas plus celebrated rookie Mike Silungan. They ended the season without a win. 0-14.
