Hello to everyone!

An organization for Bohol Overseas Workers, Families & Dependents was born January 22, 2010, the "Bohol Association of OFWs and Dependents".

Inviting those within the membership categories to be an active member, create a voice to reckon with in the province's economic development. It is worthy to note that the market/economy of Bohol is not only propelled or driven by the agriculture and tourism industry but thru the remittances of the overseas Boholanos.

Regards.

there's a degree of indecency that's tolerated in this site; but there's no room for those whose intention is to demean other members and treat them with contemptuous rudeness, even if it's for the sake of a study or otherwise. it doesn't need a college degree to understand the difference.

To all the individuals, organizations and communities who have given me the venue and opportunity to serve in one way or another and made a difference in their lives, a big THANK YOU.  For without my 23 years working abroad would be meaningless.

No amount of words could express how I am grateful for your sincere friendships, unwavering support to the activities and projects that we've implemented and shared.

The awards or recognitions given to me would not have been made possible if I made it alone, as such, I am sharing my happiness with you for these accolades.  Among those accorded to me are:

1.  National Awardee, 2009 Bagong Bayani Award for Culture and Arts
by the Bagong Bayani Foundation Inc., DOLE, POEA, OWWA
     Malacanang Palace, December 4, 2009

2.  Regional Awardee, Central Visayas, 2009 Model OFW Family of the Year Award
     by the DOLE and OWWA
Sofitel Philippine Plaza, November 26, 2009

3.  Regional Awardee, Central Visayas, 2009 Outstanding OFW Achievement Award
by the DOLE, POEA and OWWA
SM City Entertainment Center, July 13, 2009

Again, my heartfelt thanks. May this inspires you to do even better with your compassion and passion to help and touch others lives.  The real essence of accomplishment is not what we have but what we share.

All the best!

Hi Lumine,

Thank you. Hope all is well with you and your family.  By the way I will be in Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon for the period Oct. 9 - 12, 2009 upon invitation of a friend who owns a farm in Bukidnon.

Please advise on how I could reach you by phone.  Thanks.

All the best for you Mike throughout the year and years to come.  Belated Happy Birthday.
#7

Ate Lee,

Thank you.  How are you na?
#8

Bran Lorenz,

Thanks for your prayers for the national competition.

This is the first time that a non-married OFW has been awarded as the Regional Winner for Model OFW Family Of the Year Award. They've added a new category, Single as Head of the Family.
#9

Thank you Mike. I am open to every opportunity on how I could best participate in an individual, corporate and community development.

Am hoping that this may inspire others to replicate and/or multiplier factor.
#10
Hi to all,

Thank you so much for your warm compliments.

My profound gratitude also goes to the individuals and communities who had given me the opportunity to serve them in my little way or another which made a difference in their lives ( for without,  this would not have been made possible ).

All the best!
Jun Ayag

Note:

Please help me pray that I would make it in the national competition and bring the accolade for Central Visayas and the Province of Bohol.

This would be the first time in 5 years that the award giving body will only select one (1) national winner out of the 14 regional winners. (previously they selected 3 winners for the 3 major islands - Luzon, Visayas & Mindanao).

Sad to learn of what has been transpiring lately in TB?  Though I have not encountered these threads as I am not frequenting the site due to limited time.

Mike, you've never given me a hint on this when we were together last week...

Wishing all the best!

Dili gyod masabtan ang atong mga kinaiya nga Pinoy.  Let us reflect on ourselves, kita man gani mokaon o motilaw gyod ta ug nindo kon duna tay funds o sufficient resources.

On career people, kana man ganing ipadala ta og training or exhibitions, tagaan gyod ta og budget nga makarepresent tag maayo sa companya as part of the corporate branding.  meaning, atong tanang kilos/disposition must represent well aron dili maulawan.  unsa pa kaha kon morepresent ka sa pinas?

#13

Ngano mang moblame man ang mga tawo kon ang presidente nato mogasto ani kadako? paluma og pili ang mga tawo niya to represent the country.  Unya raba kon bastoson o biay-biayon ang atong presidente o kinsa man nga Filipino representative by other nationals, mangaway raba ta dayon nganong nakaminos.  sus, di gyod ta kasabot sa kinaiya sa pinoy.

Maayo gani kay $20,000.00 ra dili $20,000,000.00, hehehe.  Dili pa man na mobotang og extreme kapritso.  If I would represent a country, I would represent it well nga dili nako pakauwawan akong country.  Unsa man inyo gusto mokaon lang atong mga representatives sa turo-turo sa Chinatown?

Tan-awa ra mokaon sa mahalon o sa baratohon, duna gyod ikasulti ang tawo!

To install a camera to monitor the performance of the employees is not anymore the trend, cguro kadtong panahon which we called "police management".

The best management practice now is to empower our people "employees' empowerment", which provide freedom of expressing oneself - living/working a life the way he/she wants to be - promoting a culture of creativity, ownership, transparency and accountability/self-responsibility.

Kon pasagdan nimo ang tawo with established goals and policies, they would be productive. Pero kong imong bantayan (kada kilos) the movements are constrained coz their mind is focused on doing mistake or having error.

but if the camera is installed for security reasons, then that is a good measure.
#15

Salamat Po!
#16

MDB,

Nice talking to you over the phone.  Ipahiram mo muna yong yaman mo para magkaroon ako ng beach house.  By then, we will invite Ms. Kimverlie Molina to perform para lang sa iyo. hehehe
#17

Generally, the outcome is good.  I think they need to intensify their efforts of encouraging massive participation from various LGUs and business community ( kanang comparably like Sinulog of Cebu ).
#18

Mr. Lindy, I believe, the Boholanos are grateful for the initiatives being done by the TBTK organizers; but in every undertaking, there must be sort of post activity evaluation wherein performance should be measured because for sure before they started implementing, there were key result areas or targets being identified. And how to infuse enhancement/improvement for the next  is to assess where the organizers failed; and what we are doing is part of the process which we called " feedback system".

If you are player, you will not see your own game; but if you are a spectator, you will know how they played.  Am I correct?

Let me give you an example:

1. about medical mission - guests who are medical practitioners have to bring in their expertise but what prevailed they are utilizing mostly the services of the local medical workers.

2. on information dissemination.  there were instances where officers  were not aware of what were happening /going on with some of the committees and relevant issues

OT: mora man ug nabali, ako baya to sigig tawag nimo unya pulos answering machine lang. hehehe. at any rate, you could reach me on my land line +63-38-5010796.  Mobile: +63 9056102208 and +63 9083682886. O yan na lahat ng numbers, just give me a ring anytime.

Again, I like your candidness, it is a manifestation of empowerment.
#20

As always duna gayod mga failures, shortcomings in terms of supervision and organization but these must be perceived as opportunities to learn and grow; wherein fact we learn more from our failures than from successes.

Daghan pa kaayong panghitabo nga wala pa mogawas sa press (gicensored ba kini?) but am hoping that they will learn from them. as the cliche goes " there are no mistakes, only lessons".
#21

Even with the wrong mentality of others, i would still urge them to continue upholding good advocacies.
#22

Even mag OT ako, i just want to say Hi Ms. da Binsi, missed you na Belle.  busy talaga ako these days looking a place in the sun for my business and reintegration.
#23

Congratulations Raquel, and welcome to the world " baby Jacob".
#24

bolanon nga cebuano,

on your question how Kimverlie brought the name of Saudi Arabia and not Philippines?

First I would like to mention that after Kimverlie graduated high school at Phil. School in Dammam (PSD) she took her college at Dela Salle Univ. in Manila ( she had already won the Pop Star Award in the Middle East as staged in Dubai ).

As we knew, she grew up and had training in Saudi Arabia nor joined competition in the Philippines (in short walang proper connection and cannot solicit proper support from the Phil. music industry kay duna man sab mga groomed candidates ang Philippines which understandably Kimverlie not their own proteges, so they would prefer having their own home grown talents rather than taking an outsider even a Filipina at that who is equally superb like them.

But since we the Middle East Filipino population highly recognized the talent of Kimverlie, initiatives were done to have her joined the competition thru the WCOPA Middle East and not Philippines.  Hence, she brought the name of Saudi Arabia and not Philippines because the latter has its own set of representatives where Kimverlie is not a part.

True to our beliefs, she is one of the most outstanding performers in the competition.

I gave my piece of correction sa gisulti nga "puro pasikat" kay the way it was said mura man og walay nabuhat kay ako taga mabini sad ko. Sulti-i kuno ko kung kan kinsang administrasyon sa pagka Mayor nga dunay kalambuan ang Mabini sama sa mga abot nga gihimo ni Mayor Stephen?

As of the latest update (am now settling for good in the Philippines, Bohol in particular as of May 17) ang kalsada from junction hangtod Mabini gamay nalang ang kuwang (wala moabot og 1 kilometer) nga dili semento but already has the completion approval.

About the bridge in Tangkigan, sementado na kini and concrete suitable for any type of vehicles. the adjoining ricefields have cemented pathways for water.  Ang remaining bridge nga wala pa mahuman ay ang Cabidian bridge, pero gisugdan na and will be completed soon.

Ang Mabini sukad nga naMayor si agaw Stephen ilado kaayo nga lungsod kay tungod mga amigo niya ang mga kadagkoan sa probinsiya ( and that is a manifestation of emotional intelligence ) but despite of how good you are, you cannot please everyone, sama sa inyong mga sinultian.

I would advise na before ta magsulti ug negative atong sution (gather information first) before opening the mouth kay makadaut man ug tawo especially kadtong motoo lang kon makadungog especially kon subjective and not objective.

So please answer me kon kinsang Mayor who has the same performance where Mabini has attained of the present status like what Mayor Stephen Ayag Rances has done (kay hangtod pa man sa Mayo 2010 as his last term as a Mayor).
#26

with my encounter with the "masa" people, manawat sila kon dunay ihatag pero mobotar gihapon sila sa ilang gusto unless they are "coerced".  intawon mosunod nalang lagi pod sa mga politico nga adunahan.

in reality, the segment of voters whom we are talking about are the intelligent voters unta, but some of this are advocating padrino padrino or clanish attitude wherein even they knew that the aspirant is not suitable, only popular pero mopadayon gihapon because of their vested interest.

if we really need change, kitang dunay kinaadman mohinay hinay ug sulti sa atong kaugalingong mga pamilya og mga paryente.

i still believe that there is a good future for this country if we have to start having that change in ourselves first before expecting the masses to follow.
#27

For a big province (10th largest island in the Philippines), 9 contingents/participants in street dancing ay napakaliit (though we don't expect to be as huge like Sinulog in Cebu).

The thing is, people were not as participative and enthusiastic because on the impression about the people organizing the TBTK ( parang elitist kasi - please refer 2006 happenings ) This impression still prevail as reflected with what transpired (commotion) in the past 3 years - previous celebration.

Ang gitaan ug attention dili ang kalihokan as participated sa mga tawo but personalities from the USA, so unsa gud intawon bation sa mga taga atoa, din moingon nalang, sila sila na lang. ( am I right?)
#28

Happy birthday Al fons.  wishing you the best!
#29

the turn-out was dismal, not encouraging in terms of participation ( hindi massive ang presentation. something has to be done to enhance.
#30

I would encourage people to vote with their conscience, to exercise the right to vote, dili usik-usikan, dili kay dili moboto aron dili maglibog... kay bisan mapildi ang gibutohan but at least you've done your part to be a citizen who has the sensitivity and heart  longing for positive change.
#31

Learned from the outset that a portion of the free tickets were used by Dunkin Donuts to advertise their product by issuing a ticket whoever buys a piece of their donut; which is contrary to the ad that the show is for free.  Such practice is tantamount to selling the show thru Dunkin Donut/
#32

Please stand corrected, it is only the administration of Mayor Stephen Ayag Rances that Mabini has attained tremendous development ( dili pasikat lang ). Dili kay he is my cousin, but you have to visit Mabini and see by yourself.
#33

Hi Bran,

Thanks for propagating good advocacy.  You too deserved for some recognitions.  Keep up!

Hi Shives347,

Anda is a hundred kilometers away from Tagbilaran; there is still a problem as to means of communication ( tingalig dunay diperensya ). Certainly, Anda is equally at par with Panglao.
It has its own segment of clientele. ( I've replied to your call for help in other thread ).

Ms da Binsi, BelleTX, Bennelynne, Aaron and all, Daghang salamat sa inyong mainitong pagtagad o pagdawat sa dungog nga gihatag kanako.

Shives347,

Kanus-a man imo plano movisit and explore sa Anda.  I could personally arrange your itinerary. Nagdako ko sa Anda and I have some relatives there.

Pwede ta mag inato in terms of costing for your preference.  I could arrange for your arrival and stay in Tagbilaran, then transpo and accommodation in Anda (at your choice).  Duna nay mahal nga resort didto pero pwede ta mo arrange with others at a lower rate.

Pwede sad ko magpalukat og paw sa Agso/Talisay if you like, pwede sad ko magpakuha ug liswi/kaang sa Talisay.

Just let me know if you need help / assistance and make your stay in Anda memorable.

Regards.

June 23, 2009, 08:07:06 PM

Glad to reconnect with relatives nga wala magkailhanay sa dugay nga panahon. Kon paryente nimo sila si Mayor Stephen og Crispina Ayag Vergara then paryente ta kay 1st degree cousins man nako sila.

Would you mind giving me PM on details? Thanks.
#50

Hi Bennelyne,

I've met Lynn and your younger sister (unexpectedly) the other day and invited me for a refreshing Vita drink with a chat in one of the cafes at the City Square.

On your question whether I have plans for politics? As of this time, I don't have definite plans yet.  Though I've been hearing rumors in Anda that I might be running for Mayor as I enlisted or registered with Comelec as a voter for 2010.  Maybe some people speculated due to my affiliation with the community projects of some political figures in the province.

Bennylene,

Si Engr. Edwin Vallejos taga Mabini (Lungsudaan/Baybayon) ang kagikan though namuyo na siya sa Tagbilaran.  He is my relative sa Ayag lineage ( 2nd or 3rd degree cousin ).

June 19, 2009, 08:13:47 PM

waneyadz,

it's not surprising nga daghan kang nakaila nga Ayag sa Tangkigan kay considered as the biggest/largest clan ang Ayag sa tibuok Mabini.

Wala man mi balay sa Mabini, we already reside in Tagbilaran pero among kagikan sa Poblacion 1 & 2, I was born doon; grew-up in Anda and have our residence sa city.

Pareho mig kaliwat nga Ayag ang present Mayor ( Stephen Ayag Rances ); his mom is the younger sister of my father.  I'd stayed in Mabini until first year high school then moved to Anda.

#54

All the gubenatorial candidates have their own field of competencies.  And we voters must elect/select objectively and not be based on popularity or machinery.

We have to assess where their (Edgar, Julius, Cesar) competencies/skills be best suited in terms of governance.

Let us not focus on which parties they belonged ( Administration, Opposition, Independent ).  The thing is how their platfors (action plans) would bring great positive  impact / change to the majority of Bohol constituents.

Bohol Directory / PMAP, Bohol Chapter
April 30, 2009, 02:35:57 AM
Personnel Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) is strictly professional, non-stock, not-for-profit organization of companies and individual management executives engaged or interested in Human Resources Management (HRM) and Industrial Relations (IR) work.

As a professional association, PMAP helps institutions mold an enlightened, competent, socially responsible and influential sector of people managers who can effectively participate in national building. PMAP also helps its members become more effective on the job by teaching the human aspect of management via numerous career development forums and training programs.

We at PMAP, Cebu Inc. under the present presidency of Ms. Ma. Chonita Rivera-Cejas in cooperation with Options & Concepts (an events management and consulting firm based in Tagbilaran) are preparing for covening all HR practitioners in Bohol through a seminar to be held on the latter part of May 2009.

The gathering is envisaged to spur cohesive efforts among individuals and organizations engaged in HR principles and practices en route to organizing a chapter in the Province of Bohol after almost 3 decades ( 28 years ) our neighbor Cebu had established their own.

We are inviting all Bohol HR practitioners to participate on this endeavor.  You can start by enlisting your name and/or organization on this thread or indicate your interest via email at junayag@yahoo.com  or sagee18@yahoo.com.

Any TB member may recommend or send a referral for PMAP, Bohol Chapter membership.  We will be reaching them (send invitation/flyer) through the provided contact numbers or email addresses.

Organizations or individuals/entrepreneurs who would like to be part of PMAP, Bohol history thru sponsorship of the initial gathering are most welcome ( on a first come first serve basis ).

It is with sure optimism that with your prayers and support, PMAP-Bohol would become a reality.

Thank you.

Cheers!
Jun Ayag

Note :We will be posting updates of the Programme on this thread.

As Published in the Arab News - News Brief, Saudi Arabia's daily
April 17, 2009

Quote:
"A 60-year old Belgian man killed his 37-year old Filipino wife and then shot himself in a fit of jealous rage in a northern Philippine town, a police officer said yesterday.  Constant Van Girt allegedly shot dead his wife Rosaly during a heated argument inside their house in Iguig town of Cagayan on Wednesday.  Senior Inspector Wilfredo Dupaya said that after killing his wife, Van Girt shot himself."

Unquote:
Opted to post this article for others to reflect especially to the 2 recent cases in Bohol.  A lot have spoken objectively on the issue.  There must me some deeper reasons; but to judge Boholanos and creating stories that would make the tourism business suffers is inappropriate and not fair.
#65

Denver,

Dunay mga clinic sa Mabini that would only cater to non-major medical cases.  Probably, what you wanted kanang equivalent og Community Hospital.

About the caliber of our doctors, mga maayo man.  All I know nga si Dr. Nestor Ayag, maayo gyod siya kay puntahan man na siya bisan gikan sa laing town ( not because he is my relative ) pero karon kay tigulang naman besides namatay nasad si Maninay Zenaida whose profession was a Nurse. When she was still alive, very active ang clinic niya kay pares man sila Physician & Nurse. Pero karon lahi na.  ( Dr. Nestor Ayag, MD was a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas ).

On the infrastructures (roads, bridges and public buildings), the credit also goes to our cousin (si Engr. He is also one of the men behind the development.  Taga Lungsudaan, Mabini kagikan man si Engr. Vallejos nga namuyo na karon sa Tagbilaran.

The meeting is set at 11:30 AM, but normally for Filipinos this is considered as a start of "assembly time" and I could only stay until 1:15 PM.  As said, this serves as a informal gathering among members intended for bonding and a venue for collecting loan payments, savings and subscribed shares.

Engr. Virgilio Brigido Espeleta deserves the honor.  "Nonoy", a colleague while in college at USC, he was also a recipient of the Cocofed Scholarship ( younger batch - a year gap) and graduated Cum Laude in BS Chemical Engg.

Congratulations Noy!

Bran and Glacier,

I feel humbled of your respect and admiration; and I've seen myself too in both of you.

Glacier & Grazie,

May I share something about success. " The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you.  If you do that, you're in control of your life.  If you don't, life controls you.".

Thank you Hazel,

Though Manay Tess explained to me the reason for having such title, am more comfortable now. How are you doing by the way?  Hope all is well.

Thanks Grazie, but there are also people who are bitter with the success of others.  However, one can't evade of  realities that there are people who are meticulous of how others bring inspiration and not happy to recognize especially when their own do not merit the same.

There would be no drama in life if there are no villains; but the good will always prevail.

Truly, sweet success comes when you've experienced failures, hardships  along the process, not the easy way.  And I've seen those low times as opportunities to grow, they've strengthened me to be determined that in doing good and perseverance it begets good things.

Thank you Glacier and Grazie for your compliments.  These inspired me to do even better.

Happy (Maricel),
Am glad of the good news.  Please take extra care.  My regards to the whole family. (Please convey too to your husband and your mother-in-law my heartfelt thanks for taking part in our TB Grand EB which was also the launching of Options & Concepts.)

Am always wishing that the lives who brought successes despite tribulations would be an inspiration for others.

Nice to interact with you here Grazie.

Despite the hardships our family gone through, I am not bitter with life. I've encountered people who were sincere in helping unconditionally.  That is why I have to give back to whoever in memory of some kindhearted men who've already left.  There is no amount of gratefulness I have for those people who have helped me at the time when I was less privileged; and in the process I've learned to grow, learned to forgive and learned to give and share bisan dili dato.

Thanks Grazie,  we only come to life once and this is the only opportunity to manifest the blessings as we journeyed our individual mission.

BOWACCC is the pioneering cooperative registered with the CDA in Saudi Arabia if not in the Middle East.

There were fragmented informal groups indulging in savings and credit but not formalized as cooperative.
#97

Hello All,

We are presently working to update / enhance the BOWACCC site for reference purposes for those who are interested to be a part of the cooperative.

Regards.

Hello Bran,
Helping is caring.  It is one way of giving back to the community in my little ways.  Hope this would be infectious to the rest; an inspiration for others that poverty is not  a hindrance to success.
#99

Hi Bran,

Am just fine, occupied with my preparations for reintegration in not too distant future.

Though maybe Madame President is not popular but undeniably what she had done to Bohol is unequalled; and such Boholanos owe a lot of gratitude to PGMA. (as you can see from the picture, she was enthusiastic whenever Bohol's success is talked about).

Hope all is well with you.

Rgds.

It is with hope that people must not only leave that responsibility or rely to the government officials and the businessmen.  What counts a lot... the total reception of a vision by the people and being done by the people,  Success not only rest on one but through cohesive efforts.
