to you,

you lounge in a small boat drifting silently on an infinite ocean.

gazing over the side, you watch the sunlight dance across the surface.
cupping your hand, you reach in to withdraw a handful of water.

in your palm you see liquid that seems alive in the shimmering sunlight.

clenching your fingers tightly together, you try to keep the water contained
in your hand. But, alas, it slips through your fingers drop by drop
to rejoin the vast sea.

no matter how hard you try, you cannot stop the water from leaking from your hands
and returning to its source.

no matter how hard you try,you cannot stop life from doing the same.

you waste life by trying to hold on to it.

savor what is, right now, for it is fleeting

love,

When Willie and Carol Fowler's only daughter cancelled her wedding 40 days before she was set to walk down the aisle, the parents were faced with a venue, food and entertainment that had all been paid for.

But instead of cancelling everything and losing their deposits, they decided to change the guest list -- to 200 homeless people.

"We went home that evening and my husband woke up the next morning and I was in the process of cancelling out the venue and he said, 'No, what we'll do is donate it to Hosea Feed the Hungry,'" Carol Fowler told ABCNews.com today.

"It was a vision," Fowler said of her husband's idea. "He said he had prayed on it during the night and God had directed him and that's what we were going to do."

The Fowlers called Hosea Feed the Hungry, an organization that their daughter had volunteered for when she was younger. It is a nonprofit organization in Atlanta, Ga., that provides homeless individuals with services and resources.

"When they first called, the administration thought it was a prank call because it was too good to be true," Quisa Foster of Hosea Feed the Hungry said. "It's a very creme de la creme wedding venue, so to say that you're going to host 200 homeless individuals at Villa Christina -- it sounds like a prank call."

The Fowlers persisted and eventually had a meeting with the organization to prove their good intentions and plan the event.

On Sept. 15, buses transported 200 homeless women, children and families to Villa Christina for the event. It began at 2 p.m. with outdoor appetizers and space for the children to run and play.

The event then moved inside, where the approximately 50 children had a room to themselves with face-painting, juggling and crowns.

"The children had chicken fingers, French fries, fresh fruit and chocolate chip cookies," Carol Fowler said. "The adults had salmon and chicken."

"All the plates were empty and there wasn't any leftover food at all. It was an eye-opening experience," Foster said. "You go to weddings sometimes and you see a lot of people really waste food. We take so many things for granted. These clients or guests, as we call them, they don't."

The day's "inspiration program" included a motivational speaker for the adults.

"When you look at the faces of the women and children and actually participated in the event, they look like you and me," Foster said. "These are working families that for whatever reason -- the recession, economic turn -- have found themselves in a place where they're without a place to live and starting over."

"It was a wonderful event. It brought tears to my eyes," she said.

The Fowlers were very involved in the whole event and enjoyed greeting all of their guests. Their daughter was also on hand for a day that was "bittersweet but rewarding" for her, Willie Fowler said. The family declined to comment on why the wedding had been cancelled.

"There is no way to explain how it makes you feel, but it's wonderful," Willie Fowler said of seeing the joy at the event.

"It's just that wonderful, rewarding feeling," Carol Fowler said. "If we could just inspire one youth in that crowd to rise above the situation today and be a very responsible member of society tomorrow, that would be extremely rewarding."

The Fowlers are hoping to make the affair a yearly event that will be two days and incorporate educational elements for the participants.

They pointed out that events are cancelled all the time and encouraged others to think about donating

"If you have cancelled an event, do not walk away. Pick up the phone and call your favorite charity and offer it to them," Carol Fowler said. "We're regular, working people and anybody can do this. This is not star stuff."

Has the Tide Turned Against the Warmongers?
By Ron Paul, Texas Straight Talk
Thursday, September 26, 2013

Will the history books record these past couple of weeks as the point when the tide finally turned against our interventionist foreign policy?

We began September with the Obama administration on the verge of launching Tomahawk missiles at Syria. The missiles were needed, the administration claimed, to punish the Syrian government for using poison gas on its own people. There were reports that in addition to missiles, the administration was planning airstrikes and possibly even more military action against Syria.

The talks of a punishing "shot across the bow" to send a message to the Syrian government also escalated, as some discussed the need to degrade the Syrian military to help change the regime. They refused to rule out a U.S. ground invasion of Syria.

Secretary of State John Kerry even invoked an old bogeyman that had worked so many times before. Assad was another Hitler, we were told, and failure to attack would equate to another Neville Chamberlain-like appeasement.

The Rarest Investment in America?

Only 31 are known to exist… spotted near the Siskiyou Mountains, three hours from the nearest major airport.

But it's making some people rich. Click here to watch on-camera.

-------------------------------------

The administration released its evidence to back up the claim that the Syrian government was behind the gassing, and the president asked Congress to authorize him to use force against Syria. Polls showed that the American people had very little interest in getting involved in another war in the Middle East, and as the administration presented no solid evidence for its claim, public support eroded further. The media, as usual, was pushing war propaganda.

Then something incredible happened. It started in the British parliament, with a vote against participating in a U.S.-led attack on Syria. The U.K. had always reliably backed the U.S. when it came to war overseas, and the vote was a shock.

Though the House and Senate leadership lined up behind the president's decision to attack Syria, the people did not. Support among the rank-and-file members of the Senate and House began to evaporate, as thousands of Americans contacted their representatives to express outrage over the president's plan. The vote looked to be lost in the House and uncertain in the Senate. Then even Senators began to feel the anger of the American people, and it looked like a devastating and historic loss for the president was coming.

The administration and its pro-war allies could not bear to lose a vote in Congress that would have likely shut the door completely on a U.S. attack, so they called off the vote. At least for now. It would have been far better to have had the president's request for war authorization debated and voted down in the House and Senate. But even without a "no" vote, it is clear that a major shift has taken place.

A Russian proposal to secure and dismantle the Syrian government's chemical weapons was inspired, it seems, by John Kerry's accidental suggestion that such a move could avert a U.S. strike. Though the details have yet to be fully worked out, it seems the Russia plan, agreed to by the Syrian government, gives us hope that a U.S. attack will be avoided.

The American people have spoken out against war. Many more are now asking what I have been asking for quite some time: Why is it always our business when there is civil strife somewhere overseas? Why do we always have to be the ones to solve the world's problems?

It is a sea change, and I am very encouraged. We have had a great victory for the cause of peace and liberty, and let's hope we can further build on it.

Early investors are getting rich in the single greatest health trend in America: BOTTLED WATER.

Read the Full Report Below

Brace yourself for one of the biggest wealth booms ever as early investors ride this healthy beverage explosion that’s capturing billions from the $74.3 billion dollar soda industry

Movie stars and famous athletes are drinking alkaline water, the “Rolls Royce” of healthy drinks, and demand is soaring. I’ve found a little-known stock that could potentially explode…

This ‘tiny’ 40-cent stockâ€"Alkaline Water Co. (WTER) could grab a big share of soda company profits and potentially return a 50-fold gain

Fellow Investor:

$74.3 billion is at stake. That’s how much the American public paid for sugary soda drinks last year. These fabulously wealthy soda companies have one problem: people are fleeing these unhealthy drinks at a breakneck pace and sales have steadily declined for the last 8 years.

As seen on CNBC, Bloomberg and The
Wall Street Journal

OTCBB: WTER

Alkaline Water Co. product AK84:
premium bulk water 1-gallon bottle

What’s bad news for them…is the opportunity of a lifetime for us.

People are now buying healthy water drinks like there’s no tomorrow. The bottled water industry is already at $15 billion sales and growing like wildfire. I believe that I’ve found a unique new product in this booming area with a great marketing plan others don’t have.

This strategy includes a gallon size bottle consumers can’t get enough of. This also has the built-in advantage of having them drink more water. This increased consumption also brings them its enormously popular health benefits. This alone could help Alkaline Water Co. (WTER) grab an enormous piece of these soda profits and reward early investors
with potentially spectacular gains.

REVEALED: The lucrative truth behind…

The Dept. of Energy’s Mysterious $400 Billion “Cameron Parish Project”

In a muddy Louisiana bayou town, the US government is quietly sponsoring a breakthrough experiment set to solve one of the greatest energy problems of our time…

But only a handful of companies have the green light to exploit it for huge gains…

INSIDE: How the “Cameron Parish Project” could pay you $16,500 or more every year… for the next 20 years and beyond…

Dear Reader,

A drive through the marshy bayou of Cameron Parish, Louisiana, can be a bit depressing.

Poverty and hardship are everywhere in this Gulf community.

Mangled cars dot the outskirts, reminders of the devastation of Hurricanes Rita and Ike.

Some of the residents are still living in the shabby temporary trailers built after homes were wiped out… first by Rita in 2005 and then by Ike in 2008.

As you cruise through town, you’ll notice many of the old shops are abandoned. The mostly Creole population shrank drastically after Rita.

The post office closed down. Only one bank and one gas station remained. There used to be three local grocery stores â€" after the storms, there were none.

In fact, only the crawfish have much value. You’ll even see people stop on the side of the road to dig them up from the mud.

Yes, Cameron Parish has been down on its luck for some time now…

But all of that is about to change… quickly.

You see, this remote community could soon be the source of billions of dollars in wealth…

You might not be able to find it on a map, but what happens in Cameron Parish may singlehandedly dictate much of the world’s energy future.

In a cove off the Gulf Coast, behind a large security gate, a mysterious project is being built under the watchful eyes of the US Department of Energy.

The breakthrough experiment conducted inside the massive building will have sweeping ramifications for American foreign policy, international energy security and the financial markets.

If you act swiftly, you could claim your share in these riches.

I’m talking about a chance to collect regular quarterly payments that could reach five figures every year â€" for the next 20 years and beyond.

You’ve been looking for an opportunity that could generate steady but spectacular income to fund your retirement…

This is it.

In a moment, I’ll tell you exactly how you could cash in…

But I have to confess, I’ve hardly ever seen anything like the massive energy “experiment” taking place in Cameron Parish.

What I’m sharing with you today has nothing to do with solar, wind, geothermal power or uranium. And it’s not another overhyped oil discovery.

Yet this unique $400 billion experiment has the potential to solve one of the greatest energy problems plaguing America right now.

Here at home, it also means the creation of thousands of new jobs, economic growth and a reduction in the national deficit.

But for the world, the results of this experiment could trigger a huge geopolitical power shift.

Meanwhile, this energy technology is going to mint money for early investors…

And you could be one of them.

Help & Support / Where The Real Lessons Come From
July 26, 2013, 07:44:29 PM

Where The Real Lessons Come From

Many of the business books you get these days are full of fluff. The real lessons come from men and women who don't really have the time to write. That's why I'm consulting with a busy CEO (who wishes to remain anonymous) to extract the valuable lessons that he needs to share with the world. We worked together on today's essay to share an important success secret with you - one that has powered a very rich man's career.

Craig Ballantyne

"That which is most satisfying is that which is earned. Anything received free of charge is seldom valued." - Dave Kekich, Credo #3

A Rich Man's Greatest Secret
By "Cooper", the CEO
He's rich, powerful, respected and proud of the fact that he has the same best friends since he was an early teenager.

Nothing was handed to him; he earned it all.

If you ask him, as I did in 2011, he'll tell you his achievements all come down to the consistent application of his "greatest secret to success".

Think of it like a formula for gaining power and just about anything else you want in life. This formula can work for you. I'm sure of it. It can turn you into a powerful, wealthy businessperson if that's what you want. It can get you elected, if that is your goal. It can even help you find the love of your life.

However, here's the catch...

You'll probably reject it as too simplistic.

Most people do. You'll see it as risky. You'll have to start giving a lot more of yourself and, odds are, you won't want to do it. You'll think it's unfair so you won't really try.

Nevertheless - if you can get over yourself, apply and evolve the formula over time, you can have virtually anything you want.

Here's how it works.

Early in life, you probably discovered there are only two ways to get what you want.

1) You can try to find a way to take what you want.

Or

2) You can find a way for the things you want to be given to you.

Of course, 'taking' can often be unethical so that's not a long-term formula for success, which leaves us with convincing people and the world to give us things.

How does one encourage the world to give its fruits?

It sounds a bit harsh when put this way, but it's true: much of life is transactional.

We must give to get.

If I want something from the world, I know I have to earn it. Whether it is love or a job or even a pleasant greeting from someone, you can have it all if you're willing to give in advance.

As my rich and successful friend put it, "If you want people to do nice things for you and be a part of your life, you must always keep the 'friendship bank' in the black."

"Giving to Get" is the first step in developing a value creation disposition. Value creation is the secret to getting everything you ever wanted.

You will make great progress in all areas of life simply by developing the habit of always asking yourself, "How can I add value to this person/situation?"

It won't come naturally. It will require focus and training as you learn to set aside your desires so that you're more objectively able to help others.

A Giving to Get approach can take you far in life. Most of the successful folks I know have mastered at least this step.

Giving to Get, or giving first and hoping for benefits later, is the root of all successful relationships. Give love if you want to receive love. Give a kind word first if you're hoping for one in return. Give trust if you hope to be trusted. Give your full faith and effort toward common cause if you want the same.

Giving to Get vs. Going to Bat

Giving works all the time, but most people feel it's risky so they hold back. That's precisely why the Give to Get crowd finds much greater success then average. Being willing to take on the little bit of risk and give in advance moves Give to Getters up the ladder quickly.

Giving to Get is effective and is why, unfortunately, most folks stop here, at step one, thinking they've reached the top. This tactic produces results, but only in relatively tiny ways and in limited circles.

The truth is, Giving to Get is superficial.

It's a start, but it's the two dimensional version of value creation... productive in the short term and simply unwise in the long game.

[The "long game" is a topic for another day, but trust me, this is the game you want to be playing.]

So, what's better than giving to get?

Try this for a change.

Try going to bat for someone.

Look to a friend or colleague who's been struggling to beat back some demon or overcome an overwhelming obstacle. Steel yourself and say to them, "Don't worry. I've got this one."

I'm suggesting you do this without regard for any gain on your part. I'm telling you to throw down for them. To go to the ends of the earth for them. To back them up in their time of need.

Make their plight your own, not to be swept up in the drama of it, but to sweep it aside for them as a demonstration of your power and love for that other person.

In his words, my rich friend advised, "It is truly amazing how learning to be generous, at all times, can change your life. As you know, it's not an effort to 'buy' people -- that doesn't work. It's just an effort to let people know that you're not ever going to 'take' from them. And that their being with you -- whether it's dinner out on the town or working in your company -- is always going to be over-the-top."

Try going beyond the Give to Get step and see what happens.
