She has become the sex slave of her best friend
By Emily A. Marcelo

Dear Emily,
My problem is my relationship with my high school best friend. We were classmates all of four years in high school but took up different courses in college. We are both considered “beauty and brains”; she looks more Chinese, I am very Filipino.
After school, when I got a job, I stayed with her in her one-bedroom apartment, splitting the monthly bills between us.
We’d sleep in one bed, she in her pajamas, I in loose shirt and underwear. The bathroom has no door and this has not been a problem since we are both girls anyway.
We even used to shower together, naked, scrubbing each other’s back, at times teasing each other by touching each other’s private parts. We’d even share stories about our sexual experiences.
That’s how close we were with no feeling of malice.
Then, one night, I was awakened when I felt her hand inside my panties. In total shock, I pretended to be asleep until she finished what she was doing.
I must confess I enjoyed it like none of my boyfriends had made me feel. Or it could just be because it was my first time with a girl. I believe she knew I was just pretending to be asleep.
The next morning, we both pretended to be okay. We did not talk about it. It was awkward, especially seeing her watching me take a bath, which always happens because I go to work earlier than her.
Two days after, she did it again while I was sleeping, but this time, she went a step further. Again, I pretended to be asleep, but I know she knew I was awake.
The next day, I decided not to go home to her anymore. After three days, I went back to get my things and say goodbye to her. Surprisingly, I found a note on our bed with a flash drive. The note said: “If you’re thinking of leaving me, open the file, this will be all over the world, I promise you that!”
I opened the flash drive and ended up crying when I saw my video taken while I was in the bathroom. There I was (done when she was not in our apartment)â€"peeing, pooping (my habit of doing it with my feet on the toilet seat), shaving, bathing. Even my weird mannerism of smelling my used undies was caught on video. All these shocking, humiliating scenes were captured without my knowledge.
So, I am left with no choice but to stick with her. I pleaded with her to let me go. But she warned that she would upload the video and inform all our friends. If it were just a sex video, I would seek the help of authorities.
I became her sex slave. I had no idea she was a lesbian. She is very good in bed, she cares for me, she loves meâ€"but I need a normal life, with a boyfriend and a husband in the future.
Now I can’t say no to her. She does things to me against my will. She chopped my 20-inch straight hair into a pixie look because she said she is jealous of men who think I am pretty with long hair. I wept as she chopped my hair. She was not even gentle; she cursed while doing it.
I want to get away from her and live a normal life. But I really cannot stand the possibility of my video on the Internet.
SEX SLAVE
Have you heard of the word blackmail? Have you heard of people being sick in the head?
Blackmail is a crime. And this girl who purports to be your best friend and is in love with you is sick! Horribly sick in the head!
You allowed it to happen when you didn’t stop her the first time she touched you sexually. You should have screamed at her and not pretended to be asleep.
Had you followed your first impulse of revulsion, you would have nipped her intentions in the bud.
But she knew what was happeningâ€"that you were enjoying the sexual stimulation.
What she threatens to upload is something everyone does. Everybody poops, pees, farts, picks his nose, and other stuff that’s nobody’s businessâ€"especially in the bathroom!
A sex film may be titillating for some. But this? Yuck! For her to upload such bodily functions is terribly sick and malicious, and it is pathetic if any of your supposed friends will enjoy watching it.
Go, seek help for her from someone she respects or fearsâ€"someone like the boss in the company she works for, or a relative she cannot say no to. Go to the police and file a report. Gather flash drives, notes, and other evidence she has sent you. Do everything within legal bounds that would put fear in her sick mind.
She cannot keep you against your will. You have to fight for your freedom! Make her realize you mean business.

Obama on Verge of Historic Rebuke Over Syria
Thursday, 05 Sep 2013 04:51 PM
By David A. Patten

President Barack Obama appears to be dangerously close to what would be an historic rebuke at the hands of Congress, if the current whip-count projections on the authorization to attack Syria continue to hold.

Pundits on both sides of the aisle say losing the high-stakes bid for congressional authorization would make Obama an instant lame-duck, and might well endanger his entire second-term agenda.

The resolution authorizing an attack on Syrian strongman Bashar Assad, as punishment for his use of chemical weapons against his own people, is still expected to pass the Democratic-controlled Senate.

Urgent: Should U.S. Strike Syria? Vote Here

But the real question mark all along has been whether the administration could muster enough support to get the attack resolution through the House. And there, the situation for the administration appears to be growing dimmer by the hour.

Various news organizations are contacting members of Congress to see where they stand on the attack authorization. While each outlet has different numbers, the ominous sign for the administration is that all of them show the "no" votes outpacing the "yes" votes by a more than a 3-1 margin.

Most alarming for the administration may be The Washington Post whip count.

The Post has contacted 371 of the 435 members of the House. Of those contacted, 204 representatives are against authorization or leaning against it. That compares to 24 members in favor and 143 members who are undecided, and 48 of the undecided representatives are Republicans.

Of the undecided members, the Post reports, many of them have yet to receive the administration’s intelligence briefing on the sarin gas attack in Syria. About 25 percent of those opposed to the authorization are Democrats, which means the resistance to the proposal is clearly bipartisan.

Of course, there's always the chance that last-minute lobbying by the administration will change the political calculus. But with an election year looming and both the Democratic and GOP bases opposed to further military excursions in the Middle East, the Obama administration appears to be in serious trouble.

Obama canceled a scheduled trip on Monday to California so he can remain in Washington to lobby legislators before the vote. There are indications he also may make a nationally televised address in a bid to rally public support.

The concern that Congress might balk at authorizing the attack, just as the House of Commons did in Britain, was precisely the reason several Obama aides argued strongly against the president’s surprise announcement on Saturday to ask Congress to OK his war plans against Syria.

On Thursday afternoon, as the whip counts were being tallied, the realization dawned in the nation’s capital that President Obama is perilously close to what would be an historic, humiliating international rebuke.

To date, no major military power or international organization has supported Obama’s stated intention to launch a cruise-missile barrage at Assad, the so-called "shot across the bow."

Aaron Blake and Sean Sullivan of The Washington Post reported the prospects for getting the measure through the House "are looking progressively dimmer for the Obama administration."

On Wednesday, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee sent the resolution to the full Senate chamber by a 10-7 vote. But by Thursday, there appeared to be a growing groundswell of opinion against the proposal.

On his radio program Thursday, Fox host Geraldo Rivera announced that he had changed his mind and will now oppose the initiation of any hostilities against Assad, saying, "I can’t support this decision to get involved in the Syrian civil war."

In an email statement to Newsmax, Rivera elaborated on his change of heart.

"If a punitive strike is called for in Syria," Rivera said in an email, "why wasn't a punitive strike called for in Libya after Ambassador Stevens and his three brave colleagues were killed last year in Benghazi?

"Assad committed a crime against humanity. It's the world's job to punish [him], not just ours."

The veteran newsman and commentator went on to predict that the resolution will fail.

"Congress will not approve this, and the president must not defy the obvious and growing opposition to this ill-advised and admittedly ill-defined act," he wrote. "Once a missile is lobbed, there is no such thing as a limited and measured result."

If Obama were to lose on the key congressional vote, the political repercussions would be profound.

Veteran pollster and columnist Matt Towery of Insider/Advantage Polling tells Newsmax that Obama’s support in the House looks so shaky right now it could even begin to cost him support in the Senate.

"I think the president is in extraordinarily deep trouble, as are the House leaders who put their necks out on this," Towery tells Newsmax.

He added that with the vote in the House scheduled soon after Congress returns to session on Sept. 9, the clock is already running out for Obama to recapture the momentum.

"The sense of urgency is about to be lost here," he said.

Democratic pollster and Fox News commentator Doug Schoen, a contributor to Newsmax magazine, says that everyone will lose if support for the resolution implodes.

"Obama will seek to blame the Republicans if he loses the vote on Syria, as he has with issue after issue, time after time. On this occasion," he said, "I believe the strategy will fail â€" if only because as the United States comes to look weaker and weaker, so too will President Obama."

Urgent: Should U.S. Strike Syria? Vote Here

The biggest losers in the battle, Towery says, may be House Leaders John Boehner and Eric Cantor, because they have voiced support for the measure.

"I don't think this will be a history-making failure on Obama's part, because I think his presidency is basically at a point where it is viewed as ineffective and pretty much at its end anyway. This may be the bow at the top of the package marking the ineffectiveness in the second term. But I don’t think this will be a new emblem of failure. I mean, we’re already there," Towery said.

But he added: "It would be very difficult for Boehner and Cantor to be re-elected to leadership of the House, with this sort of revolt on their hands."

He also called the division within the GOP between the leadership and the base "a harbinger of things to come."

"A Republican Party that is barely holding itself together at the seams in my opinion is splitting itself apart," Towery said. "In my opinion, that’s almost as big a story as a president who in his second term is proving to be almost completely ineffective."

Dance of Death

The "Dance of Death" was originally a species of spectacular play akin to the English moralities. It has been traced back to the middle of the fourteenth century. The epidemics so frequent and so destructive at that time, such as the Black Death, brought before popular imagination the subject of death and its universal sway. The dramatic movement then developing led to its treatment in the dramatic form. In these plays Death appeared not as the destroyer, but as the messenger of God summoning men to the world beyond the grave, a conception familiar both to the Holy Bible and to the ancient poets. The dancing movement of the characters was a somewhat later development, as at first Death and his victims moved at a slow and dignified gait. But Death, acting the part of a messenger, naturally took the attitude and movement of the day, namely the fiddlers and other musicians, and the dance of death was the result

World's Oldest Man Takes Aspirin, Eats a Banana Every Day
Thursday, 25 Jul 2013 05:38 PM

A 112-year-old self-taught musician, coal miner and gin rummy aficionado from western New York is the world's oldest man, according to Guinness World Records Ltd.

Salustiano Sanchez-Blazquez became the world's oldest man when Jiroemon Kimura died June 12 at age 116.

The world's oldest person is a woman, 115-year-old Misao Okawa of Japan.

Guinness World Records used census reports, immigration papers, marriage records and news reports to confirm the record.

Robert Young, senior gerontology consultant with Guinness World Records, said 90 percent of all supercentenarians are female and Salustiano is currently the only male born in 1901 with proof of birth.

Born June 8, 1901, in village of El Tejado de Bejar, Spain, he was known for his talent on the dulzania, a double-reed wind instrument that he taught himself and played at weddings and village celebrations. At 17, he moved with his older brother Pedro and a group of friends to Cuba, where they worked in the cane fields.

In 1920, he came to the United States through Ellis Island and worked in the coal mines of Lynch, Ky. Ultimately, he moved to the Niagara Falls area of New York, where he still lives, working in construction and in the industrial furnaces. He married his wife, Pearl, in 1934.

In a statement provided by Guinness World Records, Salustiano â€" whose nickname is "Shorty" â€" said he was humbled by the attention, saying he didn't feel he accomplished anything special just because he has lived longer than most.

"He says, 'I'm an old man and let's leave it at that,'" said his daughter, 69-year-old Irene Johnson. Salustiano lived with Johnson in Grand Island after his wife died in 1988; he moved to a nursing home in 2007.

"We did our best," Johnson said. "We weren't going to put him somewhere just because he was old."

Salustiano said his longevity can be attributed to eating one banana per day and his daily dose of six Anacin tablets. His daughter has another theory.

"I think it's just because he's an independent, stubborn man," she said.

Besides his daughter, he has a 76-year-old son, John, seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

The oldest authenticated person was Jeanne Louise Calment of France, who died at the age of 122 years and 164 days.

USA and Canada / American Poverty
July 29, 2013, 06:03:10 PM
WASHINGTON â€" Four out of 5 U.S. adults struggle with joblessness, near-poverty or reliance on welfare for at least parts of their lives, a sign of deteriorating economic security and an elusive American dream.

Survey data exclusive to The Associated Press points to an increasingly globalized U.S. economy, the widening gap between rich and poor, and the loss of good-paying manufacturing jobs as reasons for the trend.

The findings come as President Barack Obama tries to renew his administration's emphasis on the economy, saying in recent speeches that his highest priority is to "rebuild ladders of opportunity" and reverse income inequality.

As nonwhites approach a numerical majority in the U.S., one question is how public programs to lift the disadvantaged should be best focused â€" on the affirmative action that historically has tried to eliminate the racial barriers seen as the major impediment to economic equality, or simply on improving socioeconomic status for all, regardless of race.

Hardship is particularly growing among whites, based on several measures. Pessimism among that racial group about their families' economic futures has climbed to the highest point since at least 1987. In the most recent AP-GfK poll, 63 percent of whites called the economy "poor."

"I think it's going to get worse," said Irene Salyers, 52, of Buchanan County, Va., a declining coal region in Appalachia. Married and divorced three times, Salyers now helps run a fruit and vegetable stand with her boyfriend but it doesn't generate much income. They live mostly off government disability checks.

"If you do try to go apply for a job, they're not hiring people, and they're not paying that much to even go to work," she said. Children, she said, have "nothing better to do than to get on drugs."

While racial and ethnic minorities are more likely to live in poverty, race disparities in the poverty rate have narrowed substantially since the 1970s, census data show. Economic insecurity among whites also is more pervasive than is shown in the government's poverty data, engulfing more than 76 percent of white adults by the time they turn 60, according to a new economic gauge being published next year by the Oxford University Press.

The gauge defines "economic insecurity" as experiencing unemployment at some point in their working lives, or a year or more of reliance on government aid such as food stamps or income below 150 percent of the poverty line. Measured across all races, the risk of economic insecurity rises to 79 percent.

Marriage rates are in decline across all races, and the number of white mother-headed households living in poverty has risen to the level of black ones.

"It's time that America comes to understand that many of the nation's biggest disparities, from education and life expectancy to poverty, are increasingly due to economic class position," said William Julius Wilson, a Harvard professor who specializes in race and poverty. He noted that despite continuing economic difficulties, minorities have more optimism about the future after Obama's election, while struggling whites do not.

"There is the real possibility that white alienation will increase if steps are not taken to highlight and address inequality on a broad front," Wilson said.

Business and Economy / man lost $33 billion
July 29, 2013, 10:17:10 AM
Eike Batista, Formerly World's 8th Richest Man, Loses $33 Billion In Just 16 Months
The Huffington Post  |  By Harry Bradford
Posted: 07/26/2013 2:16 pm EDT

You think losing a $10 bill is bad? Trying losing $33 billion, and with it your ranking among the world's richest men.

That’s what’s happened to Brazilian oil tycoon Eike Batista, who last year was quite literally on top of the world. Life was good, he was eighth richest man on the planet, and once he even vowed to overtake Mexico’s Carlos Slim as the planet's richest man.

It didn't last, and Batista has since watched his $34 billion net worth plummet some $33 billion over 16 months or so, according to Bloomberg. The big problem? His oil conglomerate, OGX Petroleo & Gas Participacoes SA, lost 90 percent of its value over the last year, leaving Batista with a relatively paltry $200 million when including debts he owes to investors.

Batista, known for his charismatic persona and opulent lifestyle, simply may have been overly optimistic at a time when his country was experiencing strong economic growth. (Brazil’s economy has since fallen on harder times.) Sergio Lazzarini, of the INSPER Business School in Sao Paulo, told BBC News that Batista's business model “was exaggerated in every sense.”

Batista’s optimism nevertheless appears undiminished, even in the face of debts to OGX investors such as General Electric, IBM and Abu Dhabi’s state investment fund Mubadala, The Wall Street Journal reports.

“I will honor all of my obligations,” Batista wrote in a Valor Economico newspaper op-ed last week where he admitted regretting taking his companies public. “I won’t leave a single penny unpaid for each one of my debts.”

At such a vast sum, Batista’s losses stand as the greatest decline in personal net worth since March 2012, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires index.

Other billionaires who've had hard landings in recent years include Ikea founder Ingvar Kamprad, who lost $17 billion in 2010, as well as Sean Quinn, once known as Ireland’s richest man, who declared bankruptcy in 2011 after being worth $6 billion just 3 years earlier, according to Forbes.

An Open Letter to Policeman Joselito Sevilla,
23 July 2013 at 20:10

To Policeman Joselito Sevilla,

I was the foreign protester who was actively denouncing to you the violence used against the activists yesterday at the SONA Protest. I was one of the 41 injured activists in the protest. Many of the injured received head wounds and contusions, two of the injured were senior citizens. They were attacked simply because they exercised their constitutional right to assemble and protest.

I came to the Philippines as part of an International Solidarity Mission and as a delegate of the International Conference on Human Rights and Peace in the Philippines. I attended the SONA protest because I had been outraged by the human rights violations committed by the corrupt Aquino regime. I am tired of the extrajudicial killings, the illegal arrests, the forced demolitions, the land-grabbings, the puppetry to US-imperialism, tired of all the oppression and exploitation of the workers, farmers, students, women, indigenous, urban poor, LGBTs, and all other oppressed groups. I have integrated here in the Philippines with many different sectors to directly see the effects of the basic problems that the Filipino people face. I personally knew people like Willem Geertman, a Dutch community worker who moved to the Philippines, who was brutally murdered by this regime last July 3, 2012. Many of the protesters have many experiences with family members, friends, and acquaintances who have been murdered or tortured by this regime. They had every reason to demonstrate against the Aquino government.

It was by chance that I was facing you. Just before our encounter I was part of the group of peaceful protesters in the front who were beaten with police truncheons. We did not carry any weapons, we only had our banners and flags. After that initial confrontation I got angry and started shouting at the police officer standing in front of me. That police officer happened to be you. I continued to ask you why the police was beating and hurting us. Your response was flashing a peace sign while saying "relax, relax". While you were doing this, a few metres away from us the police was again beating the activists. I started pointing at the attack and shouted "You are the ones that are hurting us! You started this conflict! Why are you doing this?". At this point you started getting emotional and I responded by repeating again and again the question why they were doing this. During your crying you responded to me that you were only following orders. My initial reaction was that this was a legitimization of the violence and a way to absolve yourself of any complicity in the incident. "take responsibility" I repeated over and over.

Then there was a stand-off while negotiations with the police were taking place. We were told to wait for the results. However, even before the results of the negotiations were made known, the second wave of the dispersal started to happen. Our side stayed calm while your side started coming closer and closer. It was obvious that they wanted to start a commotion on our side, which would give them a reason to start attacking the activists with full force. Despite my rage, I remained nonviolent and even put my arms behind my back to show clearly who was the attacker and who was the target. The police started to push us away but I did not see you joining them. You stayed at the same place, crying behind your shield. I was wondering whether you did not attack us because you were overwhelmed of the situation, or if you had a genuine realization about who was causing this excessive use of repressive violence. I did not have long to think about this because I got taken to the back of the protest by comrades who were afraid that the police would be out to arrest me. I tried to look for you after the clashes to have a talk with you, but you were nowhere to be found.

I write this letter because unlike the other police at the protest, you did not act violently like your mates and you did not attack us. You did what you thought was right. You were confronted with the repressive character of the police and did not follow the orders of your superiors. This is a noble act. Historically, the role of the police force is to suppress any type of resistance that has the potential to truly threaten the status quo. I hope you realize that when you follow orders that are detrimental to the people, you become complicit in the crimes that are carried out. If you are really genuine about resisting when it is right, if you really want to serve the people, then you should know that when you take orders, you have a choice and a moral responsibility to refuse to carry out any type of anti-people acts, because when you do choose to carry them out, you are complicit in the crimes that are carried out.

You alone are responsible for your actions. I hope to see you again next year, during the SONA protest of 2014. But then I hope that we will be on the same side. Together against the crimes of the state and against the violent forces that exist purely to defend that state. Together in upholding the interests of the Filipino people.

Take your responsibility and join the people's movement.

Why Bloomberg
Rules Wall Street
And how NYC mayor
made his billions...
Bloomberg watches the world ...
Upcoming market-moving events ...
NSA snoops on EU ...
Dear Subscriber ,
Welcome to the downhill side of 2013! We’re halfway through a crazy market year ...  a year that will only get crazier.
Today we’ll look ahead at some important calendar dates. I will also give you an inside look at our cutting-edge research technology. As you will see, very few financial publishers can match our capabilities.
First, let me again welcome gold expert James DiGeorgia to the Uncommon Wisdom team. James started the month with today’s morning edition: “How Will We Get to $2,340 Gold?“ Look forward to more precious metals, energy and resource market analysis every Monday.
***
Investment success is all about information. Not just any information, though; you need the right data, at the right time, in the right context. Raw data is not enough.
Wall Street cuts through the fog with Bloomberg Professional data terminals. You see them in the background in TV news trading-floor clips. Bloomberg powers the multiple screens in front of the traders.
Each Bloomberg terminal costs well over $4,000 per month. Bloomberg currently has about 315,000 active terminals around the globe.
Go ahead, do the math. See why founder (and also New York mayor) Michael Bloomberg is a billionaire?
The big banks and trading houses happily pay this king’s-ransom price. To them, it is worth every penny. A trader without Bloomberg is like a medieval knight going into battle without armor. The chance of success is somewhere between slim and none.
Bloomberg will sell the service to anyone, but our typical reader would not need it. We have several terminals in our office. Our expert analysts have instant access to the same information as Wall Street’s highest-paid honchos.
Our subscribers receive the benefits of Bloomberg without the hefty price tag. We are fortunate to have access to this reliable information and breaking news, and also to an impressive stable of analysts with a wide array of expertise to interpret it.
Every single day, we sort through the data for solid, actionable ideas. We pass those along to our paid-up subscribers via clear, easy-to-understand recommendations, and we also share the hidden dangers and opportunities in the markets through articles in our free publications and website.
Having instant access to a wealth of data might not sound terribly exciting. But when smart people use it to identify ongoing and upcoming trends … trends that even Wall Street’s “best and brightest” might not be seeing right in front of them … that's where the magic starts to take place.
