maka ihi diay ta kong mag sigig kaon ug lanzones!  ::)

Tubod Monte and Boctol are lansones area in Jagna, naa pud ni sa Guindulman nakapalit ko'g gamay juta with existing lansones trees about 40 ka punoan (unknown variety) may bear fruits hopefully next year, recently nag-order ko lansones from camiguin gipakaon sa mga silingan basta iuli lang ang liso' ug gitanom sa seed-bed and to be transplanted to make sure nga ang variety sa bag-o nga tanum is from Camiguin.

Indeed, the best 'jud ang fruit products in Jagna -kung di 'jud ka expert kaayo sa prutas, you wouldn't know kung ang lansones nga imong gikaon is from Camiguin or from "Atbang sa Camiguin", halos pareho 'jud ang lami kay siguro ang varieties nga gitanom sa Jagna originated from Camiguin(?).

di' bale junky looking ang machine basta 'wafa ang operator,
naa gani used tractors dire, worthy pa gihapon gamiton ang presyo from Php350K to Php500K depende sa horsepower. Some big vegetable farms are using mini-tractors pero mas daghan pa gihapon ang nag-gamit sa kabaw. That machine is more or less Php21M, whew panington man ta'g mais kadagko ana nga presyo, magbuhi na lang ko unom ka kabaw wa pay gasto gasolina, environment friendly pa  :) , ang tinood wa gjud ikapalit ug agri-machine...
#22
Those agri-machineries are not suitable sa farm structures dire sa ato, di ba kung naa may corn gagmay ra 'sab intawon, ang mga ricefields ginagmay ra man 'sab kada kahon lainlain na ug tag-ija, daghan man unta mga tractors nga naa sa DA pero naka'tambay kay way ipalit ug gasolina ;D kung ipagamit man adto ra pud sa mga kaila or political friends >:(

Recently acquired 10 hectares of farm lot and planning to expand more, started already pagtanum ug lubi and some area to be intercropped with lansones, the rolling parts gitamnan na'g mangga, from this area only 4 hectares lang ang patag tingale for vegetable production puhon kung makapirme na gjud sa Bohol. Again the Kabaw wins in this area. :)
#23
Racquel,
Wow with such agri-machineries - You're a big time farmer ma'm!
The best man gjud ang farming diha sa US, daghan ko mga american /canadians colleagues dire sa oil refinery, maski managerial post na sila nangandoy gjud mag-farming - mao gjud 'ni kanunay topic namo during our free time.

Dire sa ato we also have Kubota and John Deere pero mostly sa big farms in mindanao rani makit-an, kahibawo man 'ta unsa kagagmay ang mga basakan dire sa Bohol and corn is not a viable crop, so mas daghan dire sa ato manngahan and lubi ang mga tanum, besides di' ba usually rolling hills man ang land structures dire sa Bohol, pero diha thousand of hectares mostly patag, so kabaw or mini-tractor ra gjud ang mahimo dire. Naka-inquire na'ko sa Kubota for a 42HP tractor they qoute me P2.8M for a brand new unit, so lisud gjud maka-start kung way capital mao nga kabaw na lang gjud intawon akong gamiton.

Cars and Automotive / Re: The Jeep Rescue Concept

The Jeep Rescue concept was originally to compete the H2 Hummer, it is bigger and mas designed for the trail compared sa H2, it's really cool! I believe what I saw in Tagbilaran airport in June was a 4-door Rubicon Unlimited, Rock red coloured and mounted on 33" tires.

There's a H1 Hummer replica assembled in Southern Luzon - nga pag-nakita nimo you would never recognize nga kopya lang-unless you are expert and costs only 1/4 sa presyo sa original and  sikat sa Australian market, they have models displayed in Makati, the manager told me they accept local orders too.

Unequalled Rescue Capability

Powered by a Cummins Diesel and featuring seating for five, the Jeep Rescue's primary mission is rescue capability, and its list of rescue and safety equipment is impressive:

AC electric power (10 kW) generation in the field
3-D topographical mapping software and topographical navigation system
Under- chassis, point-of-view cameras for avoiding danger in its path
Passive, infrared (thermal) cameras for search and rescue
Satellite telephone; VHF radio, digital video recorder with satellite transmission capability
Retractable 4-point harnesses for vehicle occupants
Exterior perimeter lighting
White LEV lighting for long distance visual search and reduced power use
Folding seats in rear compartment of vehicle
Remote control winch - front and back

"The Jeep Rescue is Jeep capability taken to maximum extreme and that, being Jeep, is unmatchable," It is everything the Jeep brand represents - in a vehicle equipped for unequalled search and rescue service.

Cars and Automotive / The Jeep Rescue Concept
July 28, 2009, 10:37:52 AM

Designed for the most extreme situations and unforgiving conditions, the Jeep® Rescue concept is not only the ultimate type of search and rescue vehicle â€" it's the ultimate execution of a Jeep off-road vehicle.
Combine legendary Jeep off-road capability with state-of-the-art search and rescue technology, the Jeep Rescue is designed to reach areas in the harshest, most daunting mountainous and desert areas.

“Jeep Rescue is the supreme trail search and research vehicle â€" one that only Jeep could build, “ said Trevor Creed, Senior Vice President â€" Chrysler Group Design.

Classic Jeep Design Taken to An Exciting New Dimension and Extreme

Starting with a modern interpretation of the timeless, classic Jeep, the Rescue not only hints at a future design direction for a large Jeep â€" it builds on the rugged Jeep heritage to forge an exciting new dimension for the Jeep brand.

The Rescue can be configured to run almost totally “open” â€" with folding front windshield and a retractable backlite, a sliding glass sunroof in front, a fold-forward canvas roof in the rear, plus, all four doors are removable.

A Rugged Foundation

Featuring all-new body-on-frame construction with hydroformed frame rails and riding on an 80-inch wide chassis with 123-inch wheelbase and 37-inch tires, the Jeep Rescue is built for anything thrown its way. The front hydropneumatic suspension combines with the heavy-duty link-coil rear suspension to give the Rescue its solid footing on all terrain. The suspension has adjustable ride height and an additional 4-inch lift available for fording. The aforementioned 37-inch tires feature an MTR tread and run-flat capability, negating the need for a spare. On-board tire pressure control has the ability to “tune” tire pressures for maximum traction on all surfaces.

Mam Hofelina: You are in Germany, so aware gjud ka sa solar power, you are living in the world's solar power hub. Solar power gensets are bulky and include some enclosures however they are good for mobile services, while setting up your system in your backyard is an option too. Yes - they are absolutely environment friendly!

Electric Vehicle: This system is always around us, tan-awa ang mga toys sa mga bata - the simple battery powered toys.

While a very common electric powered transport is the Golf carts and the Forklifts usually seen sa mga golf courses, airports and warehouses.

Electric [battery] powered golf cars were also our transport in Oil loading platforms [offshore], those were the only allowed in gas hazardous areas with KNPC Refinery in Kuwait, charging were done overnight and used to run from platforms during the day-the electricity was almost free in their government facilities.

Electric vehicle would be environment friendly and economical, mostly when the batteries are re-charged by Solar chargers.

Bill Gates organized an enormous session to recruit a new Chairman for Microsoft Europe.

5000 candidates assembled in a large room.

One candidate was MARIO a Fil-Am

Bill Gates: "Thank you for coming. Those who do not Know JAVA may leave."

2,000 people left the room.

MARIO said to himself, "I do not know JAVA but I have nothing to lose if I stay. I'll give it a try."

Bill Gates: "Candidates who never had experience of Managing more than 100 people may leave."

2000 people left the room.

Mario said to himself, "I never managed anybody but myself but I have nothing to lose if I
Stay. What can happen to me?" So he stayed.

Bill Gates: "Candidates who do not have management diplomas may leave."

500 people left the room.

Mario said to himself, "I left school at 15 but what have I got to Lose?" So he stayed in the room.

Lastly, Bill Gates asked the candidates who do not speak Serbo- Croatto leave.

498 people left the room..

Mario says to himself, "I do not speak one word of Serbo-Croat but what do I have to lose?"

So he stayed and found himself with one other candidate.

Everyone else had gone.

Bill Gates joined them and said "Apparently you two are the only candidates who speak Serbo-Croat, so I'd now like to hear you converse in that language."

Calmly, Mario turned to the other candidate and said, "Kumusta ka sano' nakapamista ka sa ato diha sa Mayo?"

The other candidate answered, "Wa' lagi 'ko makauli ikaw didto kas' Jagna?"

This is an excellent idea if seen purely as a means of transportation, but you know in Bohol you take a lot of things with you, don´t forget habal-habal!

One should also consider the maintenance and servicing of this car, spare parts and technicians in the vicinity to name  a few in case this car breaksdown.

This is not habal-habal sa Bohol, it is skylab from Davao.

Habal-habal is just practical transport going to upper parts of Bohol towns, kanang medju lisud na biyahe patungas and hard to access roads...while electric vehicles are merely practical mostly paingun sa trabaho, leisure and limited to city or towns roads.

On maintenance, as I checked the circuitry which is common to these vehicles, electrical and electronic replacement parts can be available locally and an experienced electrical technician with dedication can mend to troubleshoot this ride ug mas sayon ni siya i-mentain. Of course pagka-karon wa' pa'y service shops for these vehicles, mag-depende man gud 'na sa equation of supply and demand.

An option to save electricity while charging this vehicle is, you can set up a Battery Charger for your vehicle-tapping the Sun's radiation to supply electricity-FREE ELECTRIC POWER FROM NATURE.
Using similar system, whenever dunay brownout (power failure) sa BOHECO-II di' kaayo problema - I have it ready to back-up my domestic electricity needs mostly lightings, of course for a limited period lang but it really helped a lot, nowadays, I'm putting up a system to power the  AC & refrigerator-hope to complete this year.

Sometimes in 2007, Philippines introduces the Eagle G-car
While it looks rather weird in design, this compact electric vehicle is inspired after the eagle, and has an operational range of 80km and a maximum speed of 60 km/h per charge. Charging the battery is fairly cheap which estimated about 4-8 hours. Eagle G-Car is made of fiber glass and is about to be sold from Php 140,000 to Php 280,000 ($3300.00 - $6600.00).

This vehicle can be cost effecient and environment friendly pa gjud. But sad to hear that they were never labeled as street worthy and are now just tourist attractions in the Quezon City area.  Angayan baya atong ipatronize ang "SARILING ATIN"...besides it's good looking and fancy vehicle.  We just need to start somewhere.

BECHTEL NAMED TOP U.S. CONTRACTOR FOR ELEVENTH STRAIGHT YEAR
May 13, 2009

SAN FRANCISCO, May 13, 2009 â€" Bechtel has been named the top U.S. contractor for the eleventh straight year by Engineering News-Record (ENR), the leading U.S. trade publication for the engineering and construction industry.

“We are proud to be recognized by ENR once again as the top U.S. construction company,” said Chairman and CEO Riley Bechtel. “This recognition is a tribute to our employees and our customers. Two thousand eight was a good year for Bechtel and with our healthy backlog of work, diversified portfolio, and our skilled and dedicated workforce, we fully expect to weather the current economic downturn.”
Bechtel turned in a solid performance in 2008 for both total revenue and new work booked. However, the increases in both categories were tempered by a fourth-quarter slowdown as the global recession rippled into the engineering and construction industry.

Fueled by good performance across its diversified global portfolio, Bechtel continued delivering world-class projects. North American operations accounted for about 40 percent of its 2008 revenue and generated two-thirds of new work. Business was also strong in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Bechtel’s project completion highlights for 2008 included the West Coast Route Modernization project in the United Kingdom, with faster, more reliable service adding 60,000 seats per day on a busy line from London to Glasgow; an LNG receiving terminal in Louisiana, one of the largest in the world; and the Sohar aluminum smelter in Oman, completed on time while training 750 Omanis in a variety of construction trades.

The best way siguro, naa gyud original nga Willys para masundugan to make sure nga masunod ang specs [this vehicle is very rare in Bohol - anyone?] and of course 'sakto ka glacier, kwarta...tingali not too much ang total amount if locally assembled body tubs, while Isuzu Diesel 4JB1, 2.8L or 4HF1, 4.2L brand new engines are available for local vehicle manufacturers, medju lisud lang mangita ug donor drivetrain- we don't have ex-jdm-surplus market sa bohol-naa na ba?

LEO MOTORS TO SUPPLY ELECTRIC VEHICLES TO THE PHILIPPINES

The Philippines is full of tricycles. In fact, there are some 2.2 million motorized rickshaws, known as tricycles or traysikels, in the country. Most of these are powered by very dirty engines that don't have any real emissions equipment and the government recognizes that this is a major problem. To help remedy the situation, the Philippines entered into an agreement with Leo Motors to create a joint venture to build new electric taxis. A $5 million contribution by the government will get the ball rolling, and Leo Motors is to provide at least 2,500 electric vehicle kits, including batteries that will be assembled by the newly formed company. Each unit will be powered by a lithium polymer battery that can either be recharged in the vehicle or swapped out at designated "Fresh Battery Stations" that are also to be built by the joint venture. The first city to get the EVs will be Puerto Princesa, the capital of the province of Palawan.

PRESS RELEASE:

Leo Motors Signs a Major Contract with the Philippines Government to Supply $15 Million in Electric Vehicles

LAS VEGAS, NV. October 21, 2008: Leo Motors, Inc. (OTC: LEOM) announced today that it has signed a major contract with the city government of Puerto Princesa, of the Republic of the Philippines, to form a company to produce electric vehicles to sell in Puerto Princesa, and also throughout Asia.

The agreement includes minimum numbers of vehicles to be produced, as well as monetary contributions of up to $5 million by the government of the Philippines. The city government of Puerto Princesa, the capital of the province of Palawan, agreed to form a joint company to set up an assembly plant to supply the electric taxis and help manage the program financially. Leo Motors will supply knock-down parts and batteries for minimum 2,500 electric taxis to the joint company, and the city will subsidize 200 million Pesos (approximately $5 million U.S.). Before selecting Leo Motors, Mayor Hagedorn visited Leo Motors' factory in Seoul, and selected the model over other competitive models for being able to drive long distances and maintain peak power without losing battery power, in addition to ease of recharging.

Puerto Princesa is seeking to eliminate the pollution emitted by numerous tricycles, which emit carbons and pollution 15 times more than a typical passenger car. The city decided to create a tricycle that would make the air more breathable.

Leo Motors CEO & President Mr. John Lee said, "I am very proud that Leo Motors has signed this major agreement with the government. This contract will serve as the momentum for Leo Motors to be the leader of EV industry."

Electric vehicles to be produced by Leo Motors are 100% battery powered, and are fueled by recharging, rather than refueling at a petrol station. In the Leo Motors program in Puerto Princesa, to lower the initial E-Taxi purchasing cost, Leo Motors, together with the city in a joint venture, will operate the Fresh Battery Station, which is a battery swap center. When completed, drivers will not need to buy expensive batteries. Recharging is a simple process, which involves swapping a discharged battery for a fully charged battery, or plugging in the innovative quick charger to top up the battery at the battery swap center. Leo Motors' advances in cutting-edge battery and charger technology are dramatically improving vehicle recharge times. Battery swaps will not take more than five minutes. When completed, the center would always be available for drivers with freshly and fully recharged batteries.

Leo Motors enjoys many technical advantages over existing better known companies in acceleration, mileage and shorter charge time. Leo Motors extends the longevity of the expensive Lithium Polymer Battery through new inventions, called Omni BMS and PCM, which digitally manage and control the battery charging. Leo Motor's Super Lithium Polymer Battery Pack has the highest energy density and longest life ever developed. Such technologies are not found easily, even in the most expensive electric vehicles in the market. Lead Acid Batteries are not being used for this project because of their lower life, huge weight and contamination of the lands where disposed.

Electric cars are in the news almost daily. Large manufacturers and startups appear to be responding aggressively to changing circumstances and customer preferences. In the Philippines alone, there are 2.2 million tricycles. Neighboring countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia have more than 10 million tricycles contaminating the air. Leo Motors will have vast business opportunities in this region.

Picture above displayed from Jeep restoration shop in Quezon City

These jeeps are marketed to the U.S. mao nga mahal na kaayo sa local market, I hope they dont use ex-jdm (japanese domestic market - surplus) engines.
I saw some similar McArthur Willys in Jagna, high school pa 'ko, pero wala ka na makit-an karung panahona, thus we can call it vintage and restoration shops are very rare.

MANILA, Philippines -- A vintage Willys military jeep is the centerpiece of Philippine-made motor vehicle parts and accessories on display at the Philippine Pavilion of the 2009 Taipei International Auto Parts (AMPA) running from April 14 to 17, 2009 at the TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall in Taiwan.

The display is a joint project of the Motor Vehicle Parts Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (MVPMAP), the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
“It is the first time for the Philippines to participate in the Taipei AMPA Show, considered as the premier auto parts show in Asia. This is also significant as this is the first time that local auto parts makers have banded together to participate in an international trade exhibit of this magnitude.

This pioneering participation in the 2009 AMPA brings to the fore Philippine ingenuity and craftsmanship as epitomized by the iconic "jeep" which through the years became the backbone and inspiration of the local "jeepney."

According to Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Peter B. Favila, "the DTI has recognized the opportunities in Taiwan for the local parts manufacturing industry, both in the market for replacement parts as well as OEM opportunities that combine Taiwanese technology with the expanded and specialised production capacities in the Philippines."

Being a truly Philippine vehicle, MVPMAP and MECO have chosen the jeep to symbolize the Philippine auto industry and what Philippine auto parts makers can do.

According to Ambassador Antonio I. Basilio, MECO resident representative and managing director, 11 local auto parts makers representing MVPMAP are participating in this four-day Taipei auto parts show: Ambrose Industries, Famous Secret Precision Machining, Fasteners Inc., Laguna Carparts Manufacturing, MD Juan Enterprises, Nito Seiki Manufacturing, OEM Parts Manufacturing, Rado Rubberworks Manufacturing, Roberts AIPMC, Supercast Foundry and Machinery and the VSO Group of Compa
