Mao tingali gipaputol ang mga kahoy para makit-an ang mercado... unsa may importante diay? ang view or ang environment? it took more than a hundred years to grow those trees and they just cut them down to make way for whaaaat? sa una, dili man gani to nila pa-lansangan og mga election posters kay madaot ang kahoy, unya karon, giputol na hinoon. twisted! twisted thinking! very twisted!

i had a Filipiniana wedding, dong lorenzo. i wish you were there. you could have enjoyed the "barrio fiesta" theme. there were lechon, humba, isda, lambay, adobo, lukon... ang gikagubtan mao ang kiling-kiling nga ice cream. the decorations were white balloons lang and flowers. very simple. music was played by a rondalla before the wedding ceremony, while the loboc brass band, loboc youth choir, and more choirs and singers provided the music. my hubby sang, "i'll take care of you" while i was walking down the aisle. then we sang, "the prayer" when we lighted the center candle to signify God's light. all the ladies wore filipiniana gowns ala santa cruzan while the men wore barong. as a gift na lang nila nako, it was a wear-your-own-gown agreement. basta mag-crown sila. bibo baya pod.

The following was supposed to be a text message to be sent to one of DZMM's radio show, which I failed to send. I'll post this here so it won't go to waste. forgive my tagalog!

We can be watch dogs but not adversary watch dogs all the time. Nevertheless, let's just open our eyes but don't focus on a selected view.

Good news is not news for media...  :P

CHICOGON! Can you turn my poems, "Gihidlaw" and "Yutang Ginikanan" into songs? I intended to put music in them but I can't find the tunes pa. I'm more into slow, jazzy songs and i think the lyrics are not fit for jazz or mellow tunes. You can turn them into something fun. visit http://vidayt.multiply.com. thanks!
#43
thanks koddi for posting the article, "where credit is due." I'm currently enrolled in a voice class and my teacher assigned me the song, 'usahay," knowing that i'm bisaya. we got the piece from a compilation of pieces in the library in a school famous for music studies where my hubby is a faculty. the song was credited to somebody else. the lyrics are even misspelled and incomplete. i had to edit it pa gani. the stress of the words are even wrong.

when my hubby transposed the song and printed out the piece, he copied the name of the supposed composer, then placed a question mark after the name.

i will print out the article. i suggested to my hubby that he will discuss this issue in his class.

this will be a good lesson for his students.

The days are rolling. And the Search for Miss Bohol International 2009 is fast approaching!

Set in July in time for the Tigum Bol-anon Tibouk Kalibutan (TBTK) celebration, Miss Bohol International invites young Boholano women in the province, across the country, and around the world to be part of the event, which is held only once in  three years.

The event gathers young women with talent, beauty, wit, and character to serve as Bohol’s ambassadors of goodwill. In a more meaningful perspective, the event aims to promote camaraderie among these young women, instill in them the Boholano’s distinct love and pride of place, and develop social responsibility towards Bohol and its people.

As of press time, there are 10 candidates who will compete for this year's crown. Aside from workshops/lectures aimed at developing holistic personalities, the candidates will also engage in activities aimed at promoting awareness of Bohol's rich cultural heritage.

Support our young ladies. Don't miss the Talents Night on July 21 (venue to be announced) and the Pageant Night on July 24, 2009 at the Holy Name University Gymnasium.

Miss Bohol International is organized by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bohol Chocolate Hills headed by JCI Mem. Iris Pacaldo, the chapter's president, with JCI Mem. Vilma Yorong, MBI Project Chairman, and JCI Mem. Pureza Chatto, Pageant Coordinator.

Watch out for more announcements!  ;D

They had it destroyed to make way for a "spacious" parking lot. hayy!)

we got hurt becaue, somehow, there's truth to the filipina mail-order-bride phenomenon. we got hurt because the joke came from someone not of our own kind. kung kita-kita ra pod niingon ato, mapasaylo nato. however, we receive the comment in a bad light because we want to protect ourselves, our name, our dignity.

anyhow, what we need to do is let our light shine even brighter for others to see what we are, what we are capable of, what we can offer. someday, they will recognize that Filipinos come from a great race: resilient but strong, tolerant but not totally meek, patient but headstrong and stubborn; and we do get what we want. no matter what! harrr! hehehehe!

nakalimot sila nga aduna pay gamay barangay nga walay suga, gamay nga isla nga walay eskwelahan, gamay nga lungsod nga kabatuan ang kalsada...

wala sila nasayod.

o kaha, wala sila nanumbaling.

maayo tingali...

nice place.

i wish i could visit melbourne some day.

sayanga uy. our HR personnel just told me that they were eyeing me for the next Australian scholarship. sayang kay ni-resign na ko. they sent me to OZ in 2007 but just for a short-term training didto sa Sydney. Our scholars are all over OZ, some are in Perth, some in Melbourne.

this is interesting. my uncle, jes (tirol), is compiling his own bisaya-bisaya-english dictionary. he's still into it. it's really interesting to read. although some of the words are no longer used today, it's interesting to learn and use to revive the bol-anong binisaya.
