A typical reaction of the man who help forge the peace agreement without firing a single shot...In retrospect the government should be able to fine tune their calibrated response in order to stop the killing of innocent non-combatants...Cease fire may not be an option at this stage...Zamboanga Hermosa...Preciosa perlita, orgullo de mindanao...

PROUD BOHOLANO...

The participation of Masons in this struggle (for Philippine Independence) can be aptly summarized in the words of the late Pres. Emilio Aguinaldo when he said: ‘The successful revolution of 1896 was Masonically inspired, Masonically led, and Masonically executed, and I venture to say, the first Philippine Republic, of which I was its humbly President, was an achievement we owe largely to Masonry and Masons.’

Anda - Bohol / Re: IMEC SCHOLARSHIP
August 29, 2010, 08:38:42 AM
To all determine youth of our beloved town:

Please take note that above program is now in full speed.Aspiring applicants may inquire at UC-METC / IMEC OFFICE.Examination will commence this coming october.

It's not only seeing the world for free however fullfilling your dreams of becoming a Master Mariner without taking the long route and old fashion ladderized system of being a rating for sometime.

This might your chance. No recommendation required all you need is to pass both written phase and panel interview and i can help guide applicants who passed the written exams to help them cope with the interview often carried out by Foreign Members of IMEC.

All the best and good luck gents.

Always,

Anda - Bohol / IMEC SCHOLARSHIP

IMEC: International Maritime Employers’ Committee Ltd.

The International Maritime Employers’ Committee (IMEC) is the only
international employers’ organisation dedicated exclusively to maritime
industrial relations.[/b]

PLEASE PASS THE WORD TO HIGH SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS OF OUR BELOVED TOWN ( PUBLIC OR PRIVATE ) AND ALL INTERESTED MALE YOUTH:

For the past five days, I was at UC-METC interviewing prospective scholars for IMEC applicants from all over Visayas and Mindanao and as far as Basilan.Lots of applicants from BOHOL came to take theirn chance.

Interviewed were graduating HS seniors from Barangay HS and Private schools alike.I was sad that this opportunity did not reached to our talented but financially drained youth.I hate to believe that our school administration officers were not able to learn this scholarship program where other schools in BOHOL have sent talented young and promising captains and chief engineers try their luck for this program. This program will ultimately be the best way for those who are interested to choose to start a career at sea and ultimately alleviate the burden of parents in sending their kids to college.

I hope to see in the future applicants from our town. Please study and excel in the following:

1) Math (Algebra,Trigonometry)
2) Science (Physics)
3) English(must have good English Oral Communication Skill)
4) Abstract Reasoning ( OLSAT or APRO )
5) Vocational trainings in Mechanical and Electronics courses- is a plus ( for those who have graduated already )
6) Most of All,Genuine interest, ambition and willingness to start a life at sea and not INFLUENCE or force to take by parents or anyone.

Next Exams will be on October 2010 or please visit IMEC OFFICE at UC-METC or to the authors' email add.
Successful Applicants will have a 2 + 1 + 1 program after 2 years academic studies at UC they will be sent onboard for 12 months and then come back to UC for another year, right after graduation they will take the BOARD EXAMS and after passing it ,they will join as 3OFF and 4ENG.They will be train as OFFICERS and never as RATINGS.

Please pass this word to our interested youths and school administrators. Please encourage our youth to read and read and read.Be prepared for oral interview with my colleagues from SCOTLAND,ENGLAND,NEW ZEALAND,The reason is all of these mentioned nationalities have different accent.Lots of bright boys from bohol did not passed because of communication barrier.I suggest better watch CNN and BBC.

Please grab this opportunity.

With so much love,

i know very well the late nong dr rene amper of boljoon and of course the current mayor of anda paul amper, whtat i'm looking is the descendant of the family name "ASEQUIA" and their origin because nobody from the surviving amper family clan can explain about it.my last recourse will be to dig up church records from the 1800's but still it has no guarantee because some archive has been burned down during the last war.anyway, thanks for your help.

sincerely as always,

my great grand mother's family name was "ASEQUIA",i cant traced her descendants and nobody knows where this family name came from.as to whether or not it was lost in antiquity or in the dawn of history.nobody knows.she was the wife of my great grand father MAYOR BERNABE AMPER.i lost my mom and dad at an early age and now im trying to trace my roots at least a century ago for me to tell my daughters where they came from and in order for them to appreciate our boholano and andahanon culture.at home i always keep the revolutionary flag of bohol and they are always asking me details of their heritage.

may i request to anyone who possibly know any ASEQUIA descendants from anda or any part of the country to please kindly inform me through this site  or to my email add.any help is greatly appreciated.thank you very much.

FORTES FORTUNA JUVAT

sincerely as always,
