Aguirre II.  Right: Leading the turnover ceremony, seated from left: International Law Development Program (IDLO) Program Coordinator Cathleen Cagaanan, Acting Prosecutor General Jorge G. Kim, American Bar Association (ABA) Country Director Robert Lamont, and INL Director Brandon Hudspeth with officials from the U.S. Embassy, IDLO, and the ABA.

Manila, November 27, 2017 — U.S. ‎Ambassador Sung Kim presented more than two thousand copies of a revised prosecutor’s manual and other training materials to Secretary of Justice Vitaliano “Vit” Napenas Aguirre on November 27 in Manila.  The materials are the product of a multiyear effort by the Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) to enhance the capacity of Philippine prosecutors.  The revised manuals and other training materials will be distributed to prosecutors nationwide.

This endeavor represents the shared U.S.-Philippine commitment to the rule of law and the foundation of a partnership designed to support the development of a comprehensive curriculum for the National Prosecution Service.  This project builds on the national priorities of the Philippine government to better equip prosecutors with the skills needed to handle increasingly complex cases, such as cybercrime and transnational criminal cases.

Romans 10:9-10
"If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."
