The Philippine Press Institute (PPI) has recognized four articles of SunStar Davao (for the month of September) as part of its project: COVID-19 Chronicles: Sharing Stories, Caring for Communities. These stories are:

PPI, also known as the national association of newspapers, is considered as the oldest professional media organization in the Philippines whose mandate is to defend press freedom and promote ethical standards for the professional development of the Filipino journalist.
