ROTARY INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT 3780

SEN. BONG GO and DOT SEC. BERNA ROMULO LEAD ROTARY GOLDEN WHEEL HONOREES

Six government officials, six private citizens, and thirteen Rotarians, all of whom exemplify the ‘Service Above Self’  ideal and are guided in life by the Rotary Four-Way Test, will receive coveted honors from Rotary International District 3780 on January 25, 2020, Saturday at 6PM at the Novotel in Araneta City, Cubao in Quezon City.

Sen. Christopher Lawrence Go, Tourism Sec. Berna Romulo Puyat,  Rep. Lord Allan Velasco,   Peace Negotiator & DOLE Sec. Silvestre Bello III, Health Sec. Francisco Duque III, and PACC Comm. Greco Antonious Beda B. Belgica are the six public officials who will receive the highly prestigious Golden Wheel Awards.

The Rotary Golden Wheel Award aims to give due recognition to non-Rotarians who best exemplify the Rotary spirit of “Service Above Self,” and the principles of the “Four-Way Test” (1. Is it the truth? 2. Is it fair to all concerned? 3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships? 4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?). Rotary International recognizes the men and women who are respected in their chosen profession or business for their integrity, dedication, and adherence to high ethical standards.

Golden Wheel Awards recipients from the private sector are Henry Lim Bon Liong (Agriculture), Jorge Leon-Araneta (Trade and Industry), Luz Annalee Escudero-Catibog (Corporate Social Responsibility),  Rosamy Castañeda-Velasco (Media Practice – Television), Dra. Ma. Lourdes Marquez (Media Practice – Radio),  and Romulo N. Galicano (Arts and Culture).

“This year’s honorees are among the best of the best in Philippine society today. The Filipino youth need role models. Here they are,” said Rep. Bernadette Herrera (Bagong Henerasyon Party-list),  the current District Governor of RI 3780.

Rotary International has been bestowing the Golden Wheel Awards since 2012.

This year’s Rotarian honorees as professional and career exemplars for the Mario R. Nery Vocational Excellence Awards are:
