Renewable energy in the supply mix of Off-Grid areas
« on: November 03, 2017, 06:24:05 PM »
WHAT: PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON RENEWABLE PORTFOLIO STANDARDS (RPS) OFF- GRID

WHEN: November 6, 2017 (MONDAY); 9:00a.m. – 12:00nn

WHERE: Mallburry Suites, Business Hotel, Cagayan De Oro City

WHO: Atty. Jose M. Layug, Jr. – Chairman, National Renewable Energy Board
Mr. Urbano C. Mendiola,Jr -Vice President, National Power Corporation

The draft policy for Off-Grid areas provides minimum requirements in setting the Renewable Energy (RE) share in the portfolio of the National Power Corporation-Small Power Utilities Group (NPC-SPUG) or its Successors-in-Interest, or concerned Distribution Utilities (DUs) and/ or Qualified Third Party (QTP).

The proposed policy aims to contribute to the growth of the RE industry through diversification of energy supply, thereby spurring socio-economic development and helping address environmental concerns. This will also rationalize the efficient use of Universal Charge for Missionary Electrification (UC-ME) and improve self-efficiency in the power generation through the integration of renewable energy in the supply mix of Off-Grid areas.

This is the fourth (4th) and final leg of Public Consultation following the series of consultations which commenced in Puerto Princesa City last October 5, then October 12 in Batangas City and October 26 in Cebu City. The activity will be attended by various distribution utilities, electric cooperatives, government agencies, local government units, consumer groups and civil societies.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
