JUST IN! 5ID ON-THE-GO and DMMSU bring relief assistance in Sto. Tomas and Naguilian, Isabela
The 5th Infantry (Star) Division, PA, in collaboration with the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMSU), La Union conducted relief missions for Typhoon Ulysses – affected families in Barangay Calinaoan, Sto Tomas and Barangay Burgos, Naguilian, Isabela.
Startroopers Lakambini Mrs Santina B Mina and Dr. Jaime I Manuel, Jr., President of DMMSU led the distribution of food packs and conduct of feeding programs in the said barangays.
Three hundred families in Sto. Tomas and 630 families in Naguilian, Isabela benefitted from the relief operations.
In his message, Honorable Carmelito T Dela Cruz, Barangay Captain of Barangay Calinaoan, Sto. Tomas, Isabela, said, “Nagpapasalamat kami sa mga sundalo ng 5ID at sa DMMSU sa paghahatid ng tulong sa aming barangay na labis na nasalanta ng pagbaha dulot ng bagyong Ulysses. Kami ay lubos na nagagalak at kami ay naisama sa inyong programa.”
Also, personnel from the 5th CMO Battalion, 95IB, 5ID and CMFDC participated in the conduct of the activities.
The 5ID ON-THE-GO is the banner relief mission program of the 5th (Star) Infantry Division, Philippine Army.
