PRO 8 Nets 177 Wanted Persons and 171 Other Offenders in 7-Day Ops
Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Campetic, Palo, Leyte – In consonance to the call of PGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, Chief, Philippine National Police, to double the efforts in hunting down all the fugitives, authorities of Police Regional Office (PRO
arrested 177 Wanted Persons and 171 Other Offenders during region wide simultaneous police operations launched from April 11-17, 2021.
In relation to the sustained anti-criminality efforts of this PRO, 21 Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) from the Regional/Provincial/Municipal/City Station level were apprehended while 156 other wanted persons were arrested.
Accordingly, intensified implementation of special laws during the 7-day operations resulted in the arrest of 103 personalities involved in illegal fishing; Five (5) in illegal logging; 50 illegal gambling; and 13 drug suspects.
PBGEN RONALDO F DE JESUS, Regional Director, directed all field units to intensify its operations to yield more arrests. “Despite the scourging threat of the CoViD-19, let us remain steadfast in our peace and order efforts,” he said.
