PROLIFE COMMEMORATION OF THE UNBORN CHILDREN
Press Release: PROLIFE of the Ministry of Family and Life comemorates and remembers with great sadness the unborn children who never had been given the chance to see and experience what life is in the outside world Now on its twentieth year (20th) of this yearly PROLIFE event, every December 28, on Innocents Day, is aimed to remind the church faithful that life is sacred and must be protected from womb to tomb. Most often defenseless lives inside the mothers womb face different threats caused by the rampant use of contraceptives and artificial methods of birth control. Abortion, thru hilot, use of pamparegla, chemical abortion, the use of abortifacients, like pills, IUD, Depo Provera, and similar injections and patch or implants, endanger LIFE within the womb. This is no different from the killing of innocent children by King Herod during Innocents Day ( Mt. 2:16-18).
Women too who use artificial birth control methods can endanger their health due to the different negative effects like cancer, high blood pressure, mood swings, depression, dizziness , fainting, loss of libido, stroke, early abortion and many others. It is a fact that contraceptive mentality leads to abortion. Only the Natural Family Method like the Billings Method is the safest way.
Each year PROLIFE put into focus on different ways, the sacredness and dignity of life that is to be appreciated, protected and celebrated in all its stages, like honoring of Pregnant women, activities for mother and child, honoring senior citizens, special children, disabled persons among others. That is in addition to the Holy Mass for the unborn children, mothers and fathers who are deceived and lured to use contraceptives and for abortionists.
Last year, it was the Youth thru a Buletin board contest with the theme: PROTECT, CELEBRATE, DEFEND LIFE . Parish Youth Ministry of Antequera won the first prize, PYM Dauis, 2nd .
This year it is a Youth Video Making Contest with the same theme, Celebrate, Protect, Defend Life. First Prize is P10,000,00, 2ND 5,000.00 3RD P2,500.00 with 10 conssolation prizes at 1000.00 each.Deadline for submission of the 4 (four)-and not more than 5 (five) minutes is on December 20.Entry forms and more information can be found at the diocesan chancery c/o Tonton Jalanadoni. Winning entries will be announced on December 28 after the 3:00pm Holy Mass in honor of the Unborn Children and for the Enlightenment of mothers and Blessing at the Tomb of the Unborn Children, after which the prizes are given to the winners.Every body is invited to join the Eucharistic Celebration to be followed by the Blessing at Tomb of the Unborn Children at 3:00pm on Saturday, December 28,2019 at St. Joseph Cathedral.
