Press Release: Healthcare Workers cheer for the camera as they were officially sent off to the Mactan-Cebu International Airport yesterday, April 7. The Healthcare Workers (HCWs) are bound for Manila to help augment to the growing need for Doctors, Nurses, and Medical Technologists.
The Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV) sent off 50 Healthcare Workers composed of 11 Doctors, 35 Nurses and 4 Medical Technologists, who mostly come from Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center or VSMMC.
This, after the ceremonial send-off at the Montebello Villa Hotel which was attended by Secretary Michael Lloyd Dino, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, Mayor Edgardo Labella, Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) Chief Dr. Gerardo Aquino, DOH-VII, other local officials, private sector representatives.
At Montebello, an announcement was made by the LGUs where a total of 60,000 worth of incentives to energize and motivate the brave healthcare workers will be given courtesy of OPAV, Project Balik Buhay (PBB), City Government of Cebu, and Provincial Government of Cebu.
This initiative was made possible through the request of Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go and President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
