Press Release: Dumalo si Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade sa Command Conference ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) na pinangunahan ni PCG Commandant Admiral George Ursabia, ngayon ika 3 ng Hunyo, 2021.
Bahagi ng Command Conference ang pag-presenta ng mga preparasyon sa mga rescue operations at assistance under Malasakit Program para sa mga kababayan na na apektuhan dahil sa bagyong "DANTE", update at situational reports sa mga pantalan dahil sa tigil operasyon, at ang pag-igting ng Bayanihan sa Karagatan Program.
"Yung preparasyon ng inyong response template nakita ko ngayon, alam ko at naramdaman ko ‘yung response at preparation template ay ginagawa n'yo sa tuwing may unos at bagyo," pahayag ni Secretary Tugade.
"Gusto kong makuha ang datos na 'yon (PCG operations) because I would like the people of the Philippines to know the extent of your patriotism, the extent' of your sacrifices to save lives, magbigay ng mga relief at i-secure ang ating kapaligiran," dagdag ni Secretary Tugade.
Binanggit din ni Sec. Tugade ang naging successful operation ng mabilis at organisadaong Roll-out Vaccination Program kung saan nakapagpabakuna ng 1,500 OSS frontliners sa isang araw, sa pangunguna ni OSS Head and Office for Transportation Security (OTS) Undersecretary Administrator Raul Del Rosario, PCG, Ninoy Aquino International Airport MIAA (MIAA), Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) at pagkakaisa ng iba't-ibang ahensya ng gobyerno kahapon sa NAIA Terminal 4.
Pinasalamatan din ni Sec. Tugade ang PCG sa matagumpay na operasyon upang masiguro ang seguridad sa West Philippine Sea, ang pagpapasa nito ng rekomendasyon upang mabigyan ng Coast Guard Award Moments ang mga huwarang empleyado, at ang pagsasagawa ng mga integrated operations sa tuwing may bagyo katuwang ang Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Land Transportation Office-Philippines (LTO), at Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board - NCR (LTFRB).
Inihayag naman ni PCG Commandant Admiral George Ursabia Jr. ang taos pusong pasasalamat ng Coast Guard sa pagmamalasakit na ibinibigay ni Sec. Tugade, at ang pagturing nila ditong 'Ama' ng modern PCG.
"Nakikita natin with the presence of Secretary, 'yan po ang isang indikasyon na nagmamalasakit po ang tatay natin (Secretary Art Tugade). He cares for us because he is seeing and hearing all the efforts and sacrifices that we had been doing na palagi kong sinasabi as a frontline na palaging galing sa puso. We considered him as the father of modern Coast Guard," Payahag ni PCG Admiral Ursabia.
Sa huli, ipinagmalaki ni Secretary Tugade ang mga miyembro ng Coast Guard kay Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte at inihayag ang kagitingan nito sa kanilang serbisyo.
"Mr. President, Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Sir, here is your Philippine Coast Guard, patriotic, compassionate, and God fearing," Tugade said.
Kasama ring dumalo sa aktibidad sina DOTr OIC Office of the Undersecretary for Finance Giovanni Lopez, at PCG Deputy Commandmant for Operations Vice Admiral Leopoldo Laroya, Deputy Commandmant for Administration Vice Admiral Eduardo Fabricante, Chief of Staff Commodore Ferdinan Picar at mga leader ng coast guard sa iba't ibang rehiyon gamit ang virtual conference app.
