CTG leader waves white flag in Mountain Province
A Communist-Terrorist Group (CTG) team leader voluntary surrendered and turned over firearms to operating troops of the 69th Infantry Battalion (69IB), 7th Infantry Division on May 21, 2022.
The CTG leader identified as Jerome Calsiyao alias “Dennis” belonged to the Komiteng Larangang Guerrilla Abra- Mountain Province-Ilocos Sur. He surrendered one 5.56mm M16A1 rifle and one Cal .30 M1 carbine to 69IB troopers whose area of operations cover Ilocos Sur and Mountain Province.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded 69IB troopers for facilitating the surrender of Calsiyao. The Army Chief has vowed to push down resources to ground forces nationwide to bolster their campaign against communists-terrorists and other threat groups that pose threat to communities.
