EARLIER: The Senate Committee on National Defense and Security, Peace, Unification and Reconciliation led by Senator Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada conducts the first deliberation of the proposed bills on the Magna Carta for Public DRRM Workers and the Declaration of State of Imminent Disaster.
The said legislative measures were formulated through the Office of Civil Defense's initiative in consultation with concerned stakeholders.
In February and May this year, both bills were approved by the Committee on Disaster Resilience in the House of Representatives
Asec. Bernardo Rafaelito R. Alejandro IV led the OCD delegation in the said hearing, manifesting the agency's urge for the passage of both measures to ensure the rights and benefits of public DRRM workers and the establishment of a mechanism that will institutionalize Anticipatory Action in the country.
A technical working group meeting will be conducted as a way forward of the said deliberation to polish the provisions of both measures prior to Committee approval and endorsement for second reading at the plenary.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. - John 3:16-18
