PHILHEALTH MUST CONTINUE FULL COVERAGE OF COVID-19 PATIENTS' COSTS

Now is not the time for the PhilHealth to impose health care financial burdens on our already suffering citizens. It must continue full coverage of all COVID-19 confirmed, probable, and suspect patients. Every single one. No exceptions, no loopholes, and no excuses.

“In the midst of growing public concern over the financial costs of getting treatment for the Coronavirus Disease 2019, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) once again assured the public that it will "shoulder the full cost of treatment of CoViD-19 cases until April 14, 2020." Source: Philhealth website.

PhilHealth should let the Department of Finance look for the funds to transfer to PhilHealth as cover for financial costs of hospitalization,  outpatient care, and medicines.

I enjoin all governors, mayors, and barangay officials to forward to all their constituents the StaySafe app (https://www.staysafe.ph/) for community-driven contact tracing, health condition reporting and social distancing.

The IATF has endorsed the use of this mobile app to improve health monitoring at the community level.

Lastly, I also appeal to the Philippine Medical Associations to incentivize the prescription of exercise, proper diet, and other medically-sound wellness practices. Now, more than ever, we need all our citizens to be healthy. Over-the-counter and prescription drugs alone are not enough. (END)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
