Press Release: REBEL PLATOON LEADER, 2 OTHERS SURRENDER IN LEYTE
Three more red fighters in Eastern Visayas joined the growing list of CPP-NPA defectors who chose to return to the fold of the law.
Earlier on December 26, 2020, 32 CPP-NPA red fighters surrendered to authorites in Agusan Del Norte with their firearms.
PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas citing reports from Police Brigadier General Ronaldo De Jesus, Police Regional Office-8 Director in Eastern Visayas, said three regular CPP-NPA red fighters surrendered this afternoon to the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company in Leyte.
“Ka Joseph” of Pokot Paniniktik (intelligence monitoring) of the North Eastern Samar 2nd District Jorge Bolito Command and Platoon Leader of Hamomong Platoon , and Finance and Medic of Banog Platoon Front Guerilla Unit led two other red fighters in yielding to authorities.
The trio turned-in one (1) shotgun with two (2) ammunitions; three (3) revolvers with ten (10) cal 38
ammunitions; one (1) cal 45 with one (1) magazine and ammunitions; one (1) KG9 submachinegun with one (1) magazine and 11 rounds of 9mm ammunitions; and three (3) rifle grenades.
Sinas instructed De Jesus to facilitate the grant of government benefits to these rebel returnees under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
