Besting the 5 outstanding coastal municipalities region wide, Mati City in the Province of Davao Oriental bagged the regional level Grand Prize in the recently concluded 2020 Malinis at Masaganang Karagatan (MMK) National Search for Outstanding Coastal Communities. 

MMK is an annual program of BFAR as part of its nationwide search for outstanding coastal communities with exemplary efforts on coastal resource protection and conservation.
