GOOD NEWS: LRT-1 CAVITE EAST EXTENSION IS NOW 55.6% COMPLETE!
The LRT-1 Cavite Extension was delayed for 19 years. It was approved by NEDA on August 25, 2000, while its Right of Way acquisition started way back in 2007. Unfortunately, 0% was certified “free and clear” by the Independent Consultant when Sec. Art Tugade came in 2016.
NOW, CONSTRUCTION OF THE LRT-1 CAVITE EXTENSION IS IN FULL SWING. NEW TRAINS ARE ALSO CONTINUOUSLY ARRIVING.
Once operational, this 11.7-kilometer railway line will drastically reduce travel time between Baclaran in Parañaque and Bacoor in Cavite from 1 hour 10 minutes down to 25 minutes
The LRT-1 Cavite Extension can accommodate 500,000 to 800,000 passengers per day.
