CNT leader, spouse capture with explosives in Leon, Iloilo
Combined elements from the Philippine Army’s 61st Infantry Battalion (61IB) of the 3rd Infantry Division and the Iloilo Provincial Intelligence Unit in coordination with the Leon Municipal Police Station nabbed a CPP-NPA Terrorist (CNT) leader and his wife at Sitio Hinubongan, Barangay Jamog-Gines, Leon, Iloilo on May 9, 2022.
The arrested CNT couple leaders were identified as Ricky Tumabiao and Victoria Tumabiao. Wherein, Ricky Tumabiao was at large facing a search warrant for violating R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act. The government troops captured from the couple’s house an M2 carbine, an improvised shotgun, an anti-personnel mine, a magazine for shotgun, fourteen rounds of live carbine ammunition, three rounds of shotgun ammunition, and propaganda materials.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded 61IB troops for the arrest of the CNT couple leaders and for capturing war materiel that will effectively curtail the capability of communists-terrorists to launch attacks and atrocities.
