ALLOW SENIORS UP TO 70 TO GO OUT OF HOMES EVEN FOR 'NON-ESSENTIALS' HOPEFULLY BY DECEMBER

I wrote recently to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the “senior-in-chief” of our country. I appealed to the President to let seniors up to 70 years old to be allowed persons outside of residence or APOR hopefully by December.

I also asked President Duterte and the IATF to please expedite the release of all remaining, as well as unreleased, 2020 DSWD social pensions for seniors and SSS/GSIS pensions for retired employees. 

I also brought to the attention of the President the fact that there are many seniors who have not yet received their pensions due to accessibility and other reasons.

Aware of the COVID-19 health risks, seniors up to 70 who would go out of their homes must always wear face masks and face shields.

Sana sa pagsapit ng Disyembre o mas maaga pa, payagan na ang mga seniors up to 70 years old na lumabas ng kanilang mga tahanan para sa makabili ng gamot sa botika, makabili ng pagkain at inumin, makapagsimba, at makita ang mga anak, apo, pamangkin, at inaanak.

Mahalaga ang mga bagay na ito para sa mental health at physical health ng mga seniors dahil lubha nang nakakasama sa kanila ang matagalang tengga sa loob ng bahay. Kaligayahan ng mga lolo at lola ang makita ang kanilang mga mahal sa buhay na hindi nila kasama sa bahay. Maraming seniors ang hiwalay ang nakabukod na ang kanilang mga anak, apo, at pamangkin. (END)
